I've been using this gym for 12 years. The people are what make the place and the people who have worked and come here over the years have been pretty great. Upper level corporate have been squeezing everything out of these locations, especially since bankruptcy. That doesn't stop it from being a cultural hub of communicative co-existence within the community. This place is a treasure

I have been attending this club for the past 8 months. This club has always had problems with cleanliness in the toilets and showers. But what is happening now is outrageous! Last week in the men's restroom 2 stalls out of four are not working. The 4 shower stalls are also not working. I ask you to take action Update. It's been one week. But nothing's been fixed.

Title: "Disrespectful Service and Unacceptable Sanitary Conditions" Review: I have been a member of 24 Hour Fitness since August 2024, but I must highlight significant shortcomings in the club’s service and hygiene. The staff often exhibit unprofessional behavior, including rudeness, loud remarks, and unjustified accusations directed at clients, creating an unpleasant and uncomfortable environment. The sanitary conditions in the club are unacceptable. The locker room floors are so covered with hair and dirt that you have to carefully look for a clean spot to step on just to get through. The showers are in equally poor condition, with clumps of hair stuck to the walls, making it unpleasant to even look at, and large piles of hair clogging the drains. The restrooms are no better, with toilets often left dirty and unhygienic, creating an overall sense of neglect. Such conditions are unacceptable for a facility that claims to promote health and wellness. I cannot recommend this club until management takes serious action to address these issues and improve both hygiene and customer service.

I am not a picky person, but when it comes to customer services like just greeting their guests when we come to the gym or leave, that’s not hard at all. They put people who don’t know how to even say hi to their guests, which really make me feel they are poor at what they do. I’m not talking about equipment, not talking about the cleaness at the gym as those things can be sometimes hard to be kept at its finest 24/7, and I’ve seen people actually cleaning the place and I like them as they actually greet people. Some young guys (white, Latino looking) and some older blond woman at the front desk never say anything at all at least when we come in, which really make us all wonder why they are even hired in the first place. Please have someone who makes us feel appreciated. Otherwise this place sucks forever.

Never been to a 24 Hour Fitness and was excited to see the all the hype...I was not impressed. The place smells. Some of the machines stink like sweat and they all look old and dirty. There are weights and mats all overs the place. Just a mess. There were quite a few of the treadmills and elliptical machines that were broken or out of order. I walked over to the pool area just to see it , even 10 feet from the door that leads to the pool all I could smell was the overpowering stench of chlorine. Then I popped my head in and saw what looked like a homeless man sleeping on a bench with all of his stuff surrounding him. I am a member of 2 of their competitors and was considering changing gyms for 24 HF but after this visit, no way.

I signed up for their "special" or "trial" but I didn't read the fine print. There are lots of extra charges that go with it. First the monthly fee is higher if you don't provide a routing number. That's outrageous. That I would be willing to brush off bc 15 a month is still a good deal. However the 39.99 maintenance fee is a principal issue. I don't think it's right to charge that and I also don't think it's right to hold people to a years contract if they choose to cancel. I'll be going to my bank over this and if I have to ill get a new card. No time for companies like this. Gym membership should be a flat rate.

I have been a speakeasy member for a while. I love the gym but recently I had a horrible experience with the front desk/administration. My boyfriend was coming to visit for a month and I asked them for options for him. They told me I could either get a buddy pass or even have him sign up for his own membership and then cancel. I ended up doing a buddy pass special during Black Friday. I tried to cancel it yesterday and they told me I cannot as it is a year contract. They completely swindled me and gave me false information. Not only that but when I tried to explain the situation the GM was cold, rude, robotic… no customer service what so ever. She had me email Karen an admin who was equally lacking in customer service if not worse. It is extremely unfortunate that speakeasy fitness is like all the other box gyms that don’t give a crap about their customers and just want money. At the very least they could have apologized for the false information and been kind. Their policy is the only way you can cancel is if you show proof you are moving 25 miles or further away from the gym with a lease agreement or utility bill. Pretty ridiculous policy that they do not disclose when you sign up. Highly suggest finding a different gym unless you want to be locked into them for life much like all other gyms that have horrible policies and customer service like this one.

I'm writing this review on behalf of my daughter, who had a disappointing experience at this gym. She reached out to me to share her experience that day. That the customer service at this location was lacking. Stephanie, who identified herself as the manager, was unable to provide the help my daughter needed to cancel her membership. This was two weeks ago. Today, on 10/19/2024, my daughter received another charge from the Van Nuys location, my daughter has never been to that location. Despite her account being cancelled it was still charged. It's crucial for this gym to offer clear guidance on how to cancel memberships. I strongly urge management to train staff, especially at the front desk, to be more courteous and respectful to clients.

Gym is fine if only you can find the dumbbells in right place or machines not hogged by people on their phones. BILLING is what this review is really about, so read before you signup : They find one way or another to charge you more than monthly fees. Late fees are how they really make money and VERY IMPO TO NOTE : "annual fees are charged twice in a year". I joined in Aug, paid annual fees, paid first and last month and have been paying every month on time. But their billing and front desk makes a mess every time charging wrong card and then charging late fees. That fiasco was barely over, now they are demanding new annual fees even though I barely joined 5 months ago. Both their billing and customer service is horrible on phone and inept in person. I have tried sorting it out in person or over phone, no help, same miscommunication, same overbilled charges. I CANT STRESS MORE THAT BE ON WATCH IN YOUR DEBIT CARD AND CREDIT CARD, THE EXTRA CHARGES THAT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND. Update: I did speak to Alexia twice, once in person when she didn't even allow me to use gym even though the last month was paid up on sign up. She's pretty cold and blunt, won't even let me cancel the contract either . And when I called her again after 3 days, she told me to call Mark at their Van nuys location. Mark turned out to be a total douche on phone, alarmed at my catching their system of sneaking in 2 two time annual fees . He sounded annoyed, discourteous and hung up rudely before offering any resolution. So now I'm going to cancel and dispute with my bank again. Hopefully someone higher in mgmt fixes and replaced these bad cogs causing customers issues and disrepute to the brand

Was super interested in joining and hearing more about what this gym has to offer. I called, asked to speak to the manager, but the guy rushed me off the phone. I was in the middle of asking what time to call back for manager and then he just hung up in my face. I’m going to inquire about a different location for sure because the gym seems super lovely! But sheesh was this guy mean.

Came up on my IG feed as hyrox affiliated gym and I really don’t love the places I’ve trialed around Santa Clarita so I reached out through the website for more information. I asked to please text, not call, during business hours and I appreciate that they actually listened. Sam was incredibly patient with my random questions. I met with Vee for my first class and she was also patient with my repetitive questions. I don’t have photos of the facility as I really wanted to soak everything in for my first sessions. I’ve only done two workouts with them but honestly no complaints so far. It’s structured with an introduction and small warm up and the workouts have been good. Looking forward to my next 2 months with them

My fitness journey started about 6 weeks ago when I attempted a difficult hike, Tongva Peak Loop. I was shocked to find myself absolutely defeated by the steep grade and terrain. I had to turn back about 3/4 of the way! That’s when I got more serious about my fitness. I started going to Strange Strength 5-6 days a week. I love the atmosphere, the camaraderie, the sense of inclusion, and the knowledgeable coaches. Every day, as the time rolls around for me to step away from my office desk and head over to Strange Strength, I get an excited buzz of anticipation tingling throughout my whole body. This weekend, I went back to Tongva Peak Loop, and I summited it with ease. In a little over a month, I’ve seen real, measurable progress in strength, endurance, and confidence. I’m grateful to be a member of this community and excited for what the future will bring as I continue to put in the work!

I've been a member at Strange for several months now, and can confidently say that it's one of the the best gyms around. The coaches are knowledgeable and supportive. The programming offered is challenging and scalable, so whether you're a beginner or experienced athlete, you can get a great workout. They offer both classes and open gym hours, the gym itself is clean and well-equipped, with plenty of space to move around. The community here is amazing too - everyone is friendly and supportive, and it's always a fun, welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking to get fit and have fun.

Strange Strength and Conditioning has been one of the best gyms I’ve ever been to and I have been doing CrossFit for 12 years now! The atmosphere is very welcoming and encouraging, as soon as you walk in you want to give your best effort. The coaches truly care about making sure you feel seen. They notice what might seem like a minor detail in your form and technique, they correct it and helps improve your lifting and skills in a major way! The gym is spacious and has plenty of parking.

Update: If you are looking for a new gym to inspire you and push you to be your best self, Strange is the place for you! Everything about this gym is absolutely amazing. The coaches are not only extremely knowledgeable, but also great at individualizing based on your own needs. Strange is such an amazing gym! Although I still consider myself new here, I have got to say that the programming is ON POINT! The community is not only sweet and friendly but also super inspiring. They really know how to push themselves to their limits and also support one another. So excited to continue being part of this gym, and see myself accomplish things in the gym I never imagined were possible for me.

The gym is really nice. I liked going early in the morning because there was less people around 5-9am. The crowd at that time is usually a mix of older folks who are probably retired and young professionals who are in their mid 20s and 30s. I prefer that over going in the afternoons when the young adults and high school/middle kids come in. They're just a bit too rowdy and take up a lot of space.

AVOID LA FITNESS AT ALL COSTS – HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! If I could give zero stars, I would. My elderly mother, who doesn’t even speak English, was tricked by Carla and Mel into signing a therapy contract she didn’t understand. They preyed on her vulnerability and convinced her to agree to terms that are completely unreasonable and exploitative. The only way to cancel the contract is if her doctor provides a letter stating she’s permanently disabled—are you kidding me?! This is beyond unethical. How can a major company allow this kind of predatory behavior from their employees and management? It's disgraceful! I’ll be taking legal action, and my attorneys will be contacting them soon. Shame on LA Fitness for taking advantage of an elderly, non-English-speaking woman. Stay far away from this place if you value honesty, integrity, and respect for your loved ones!

This has nothing to do with kids care they are phenomenal. But the management, and pool instructor annel. The pool door is only 10 steps away from the kids care room. Luckily it is the emergency exit that does not have a door handle on the outside. For a reason. It also has written in huge print never to open the door unless an emergency, again for a reason. Unfortunately this is the second time the pool instructor has kept it open due to her being " hot (the first time) and sick (the second time)" this is a huge safety concern for my 2 year child who cannot swim. Because God forbid anything happen to the kids care employee, my child is fully capable of getting himself out as he does when I pick him up and running into the pool. All it takes is ONE second and I am positive the elderly in the pool or the car less arrogant inconsiderate instructor annel would be jumping to save him. There is no world where id be comfortable leaving my child ten steps from an open pool door while working out. Thankfully management agrees with me and does assist me by asking her to close the door as it's the rules. But today annel said no. I waited for the management to speak to their upper management but they said I have to send an email and it's hard to reach them immediately. I confronted annel with management to find ansolution but her only remark was that i must be new here and shed been there for two uears and essentially this is what she does. She was extremely rude and inconsiderate and spoke over me and did not hear my concerns. So I had to leave with my kid after almost an hour of waiting . I went home and called to cancel my membership only to be told I have to come back in. Again id be with my kid and the desk is right by that open pool door with my toddler ready to dart as he always does so coming back is not an option for me. They did not care. I'm extremely dissatisfied with everything that transpired today and I feel like I got the bad end of the stick each time as a paying customer that just needs to stay healthy and this is my only form of childcare to do so. Thanks for nothing la fitness. Don't come to this location it's already run to the ground anyways.

First off, let me tell you this gym is just filthy. Barely no cleaning wipes to be found so nobody cleans their equipment, on top of that. The restrooms are never kept up pee, stains everywhere on top of other human matter! The equipment is broken the majority of the machines don’t work, treadmills, etc. and they only have a few squat. Racks not enough For the over congested amount of people that come to this location

THEY DO NOT TAKE THEFT SERIOUSLY! :D Seriously! The management at NoHo La Fitness love to keep their seats warm and hate to do their work! If you are looking for incompetent, clueless and useless leaders-you’re at the right place! Unfortunately, my lock was broken into and my entire purse was stolen. After reporting to the front desk, I requested to speak with management and they avoided to speak with me at first. The staff love to be noisy but lack initiative to resolve issues involving safety. Unfortunately, they have many cameras in their facility BUT DON’T HAVE ACCESS TO THEM! They couldn’t care less about their members’ safety and satisfaction. DON’T LET CONVINCE YOU OTHERWISE. They just want to meet their monthly quota. ;)

I used to go to this gym when I had Active and Fit. Active and Fit is a program where you get multiple gym memberships which was covered by my insurance and I had no issues, I liked everything about this gym location is great and it’s a nice gym my issue is after Active and Fit stopped partnering with LA Fitness and I had to get my membership there directly. Right before Christmas I went in with the free day pass since I already was previously going to that gym and liked it. So after they signed me up with the day pass they sat me down and talked to me about pricing and they were being pretty pushy trying to get me to get the membership which I didn’t like and I kept saying next time I come in since I still had Christmas shopping to do. He was not really taking no for an answer and said if I didn’t like it he’ll give me my money back after the workout so I finally gave in because they weren’t taking my no for an answer and gave them my last $100 cash since I was thinking okay if I don’t like it they’ll give it back.. WRONG okay so the plan he signed me up for was $40 a month so I thought I would be paying $40 today, they said they didn’t have change for cash so it would be used as credit towards my next months payment which I didn’t like either so I was iffy and again said “No it’s okay, next time” and again he wouldn’t take my no for answer and kept insisting I get this membership today since pricing will go up really high to over $100 a month and said again if I didn’t like it I could get my money back. I finally agreed just so I could start my workout and he said okay so it will be $80 today and the additional $20 will be used towards next months payment so I just said yes sure since he said if I didn’t like it I could get my money back. After my workout I decided yeah I’m not gonna get a membership there after all since I didn’t like the way they were being pushy and I did still have Christmas shopping to do so I went to the desk to ask for my $100 that I paid with an hour prior and they told me they didn’t have my money and they already deposited it to the bank and if I did want my money back that I would have to wait 3 weeks.. that’s so crazy because I had given it to them not even an hour before. I came in just for the day pass and ended up leaving spending $100 I couldn’t get back CRAZY.

I’ve been a member for two months, and the pool has only been ‘warm’ once. The main reason we signed up was to swim during the winter, but the temperature has been consistently disappointing. Another issue is the constant filming and selfies in the women’s locker room, which is an intimate space where adults are fully exposed. If this were happening in a family-oriented gym, it would be addressed immediately. We’ve raised these concerns with staff, but nothing has changed.

This gym is horrible. They don’t even provide handles for your work out. You have to buy all of them and bring it with you. They only validate parking for 1 hour. Yes, you heard it right. 1 hour. So be ready to pay for parking every time unless you’re not serious about your work out and just want to pretend with a 20-30 min workout. Their customer service is also terrible. It always feels like they’re doing you a favor.

Disappointing Experience at This Gym I’ve been a member here for a while, but I’m seriously reconsidering. The biggest issue is the lack of gym etiquette among members. People hog machines for long periods, just sitting on their phones, completely ignoring the fact that others are waiting. It’s incredibly frustrating and makes the workout experience unnecessarily stressful. On top of that, the gym is always overcrowded. It feels like there’s no limit on the number of people allowed inside, making it nearly impossible to complete a workout without wasting tons of time waiting for equipment. If you’re looking for an efficient workout experience, this gym is not the place. Management really needs to address these issues.

From the dozen or so PF locations, this has to be the best. Granted I work out 2am, the place is in pristine condition. Staff are very awake, responsive, and helpful.
