I used 2 go there and everyone was fake. Not just the workers but also the people. It was a bad environment not just for me but for everyone There. Mrs Tiffany was the only good staff there. I WOULD NOT recommend your child too go there. And mrs Tiffany left sadly. They are rude and they do not want success for the kids. - Cameron Montes

I switched over from 24 hr Fitness when I noticed the lack of maintenance at the hawthorn location. The staff is great, the equipment feels fresh and of pretty good quality. Being from Watts my whole life, I honestly expected other members and staff to be ghetto, not the case at all. Only complaints are that the parking lot is small, the cable machines could have more handles/rope’s readily available. I’m very satisfied with my switch from 24 to Blink.

Good gym but beware!! it’s always packed!!..I understand certain things as to why but it’s so bad to the point where I can’t get in a good workout. There’s been multiple occasions where I have left after only being in there for an hour because SOME gym members love to hog machines, take turns with a group and if there is just a moment where a machine is free it’ll get snatched up in a second! Now I’m not stopping anyone from doing there thing but it makes me contemplate my gym membership:( Only option you’ll have that will be available at all times are the treadmills and that’s because there are plenty.

this place could be better.. the machines take forever to get fixed when they get broken. There are 6 stair masters here and 3 of them have been broken for months. There seems no urgency to fix things here. UPDATE 12/12/24: there are now 4 stair master machines down only 2 operating… this will be like this for months. FIX YOUR GOD DAMN MACHINES!

This Blink as a whole has fewer, poorer quality equipment compared to LA Fitness, 24hr Fitness, and Planet Fitness. This location in particular is small too and isn't worth its membership fees. I find the staff on site to be highly unprofessional inept and incompetent. Pick a different gym than this sad pathetic excuse of a gym

I have enjoyed Flex for many years! It has always been a welcoming experience and the staff have gone the extra mile for me several times. I have ramped up me visits recently, reason being there is a new verve being expressed along with a true cross section of attendees with diversity represented in age, race, and social practice. I am so thankful that such a place as the Flex Spa exists, and I never miss a chance to sing it’s praise's.

have been there last time a few years ago. Asking at the entry if steam and dry sauna are working - all fine the reply from checkin guy. Mid Jan 2025, cold outside and also cold in general areas. Dry /Finnish/ sauna have temp between 180->190 F, this dry sauna had around 100F only - too cold to be called dry sauna. Then looking for steam sauna. Asking one attendend -> there is no steam sauna any more. But the checkin guy said: all working fine. Carpets look little filthy, need an update to return.

I am an Asian daddy and Iwas reluctant to try Flex, given all the negative comments about staff rudeness and poor customer service. That’s why I was surprised by how well I was treated by the attendant. Since this was my first visit, he even showed me to my room. The interior was relatively clean considering the age of the facility. The plumbing in the showers need repair. The outdoor amenities are nice. Overall, I enjoyed my visit. The only real negative comment I have is that there was a hustler working the parking lot.

Worst gym I have ever been to. One of the ladies who works here does not care about the customers at all. The equipment is always messy or broken. They add so many extra fees to make money. The dumbbells are always all over the place. Plates are scrambled and unorganized. Leg extension machines(all of them) are crooked and slanted. The cable machines are all old and uneven in the upstairs floor. I'll say two nice things about this gym because majority is negative. They have lots of treadmills and the bathroom looks decent. Outside of that, this gym is not good at all. They charged me extra and I got the lady on the phone was no help and said it is not their fault when her co worker was the one that told me my issues here with payment were resolved. I can not make this up, she then proceeds to not answer any calls because she knows what they did is wrong but because its "policy" she can hide behind it and not actually help.

I’ve been charged $108 MONTHLY by Speakeasy Los Angeles, and I just realized they’ve been taking money from my account for months without proper notice. Canceling the membership is a nightmare!!! it's nearly impossible to get in touch with anyone to resolve this. At this price point ($108), I’d rather go to John Reed or another gym that offers more transparency and better service. Now I have to cancel my card just to stop the charges. Feels like a complete scam. Avoid at all costs!

very-very-very bad gym I cancelled my membership 2 months ago, the staff told me that they cancelled your membership. But they lied to me. It turns out that they didn't cancel it. The staff works very badly. I didn't use the membership and didn't come to the gym, but they took my money twice, once $35, once $69. This is not a gym, there are scammers, thieves, don't come to this gym, it's a very, very bad gym, they are thieves. They only know how to withdraw money from your bank card, that's all. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

The gym presents a spacious and stylish environment, with a plethora of equipment ensuring minimal wait times for users. An impressive abundance of restrooms, paired with the luxury of a sauna room, amplifies the facility's upscale feel. However, there are operational shortcomings: a scarcity of water refill stations compromises convenience, while the neglectful etiquette of not re-racking free weights diminishes the otherwise pristine ambiance. The absence of 2.5lbs plates is a noticeable gap in the equipment roster, potentially hampering fine-tuned weight adjustments for serious trainers. Overall, while the gym impresses in its aesthetics and scale, there's room for improvements in functionality and user discipline.

Good gym - clean, nice equipment, and good environment. But they ALWAYS change their operating hours seemingly at a whim. Here on Sunday at 2:20 PM during summer hours and they're closed. Just last week, they were open at their advertised times. Tried asking the staff at Lyon Center Gym (the one a block's walk away) and they just shrugged. 🤣

Such a great facility to workout at, when it isn't teaming with people. If you get there early or just before it closes, it's possible to get a great workout in undisturbed. Otherwise, expect a wait. Despite being smaller than the gym at Lyon Center and open for shorter hours, I'd argue that the Village Fitness Center is a much more welcoming bet.

They really have to do something about their opening hours. It’s so confusing. It’s still a school week and I’m here at 11 AM and it’s suddenly open from 1 PM… This just keeps happening over and over again.

Everything is clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful. Equipment is of good quality and in good repair. Plenty of dumbbells all the way up to 115lbs+, with duplicates of most weights. Benches in the free weight area can have a wait time, but it is usually not too long. I do not recommend going in the hour before closing because it is hectic and hard to secure equipment to get on.

As an up and coming power lifter currently working towards a 3 plate bench and 5 plate squat and deadlift, I have been to a multitude of gyms across the world. Among all the gym staff I have encountered, Mr. Luke Langlois is the best staff member I have interacted with. Upon first impression, Mr. Langlois was dressed extremely professionally and greeted me with a warm, friendly smile. He swiftly but gracefully moved his tablet from one end to the other to scan my phone and made sure to carefully examine my Trojan check. He understands that gym member and staff safety is crucial and should be taken seriously, especially during this pandemic period. As such, he makes sure to carefully check his device to make sure there is in discrepancies between the Trojan check and the presenter. With such an focused outlook on his role as a gym staff, I truly believe that Mr. Langlois deserves a raise.

The front desk attendants were very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, that is the only positive feedback I have for this gym and my experience there. The parking situation is absolutely abysmal requiring that gym goers need to submit their credit card information into an online website along with the fact that it takes about 15 minutes to even register to use the parking app. This gym is also four floors down from where you initially drive in, which makes getting to it incredibly difficult and also likely unsafe, considering the fact that there’s areas that are not well lit. Now to talk about the actual experience going to the gym. The equipment itself was some of the most out of date equipment and everything looked like it had seen significantly better days. Things were broken and the general order at the gym also made very little sense. Unfortunately, I have absolutely zero desire to come back to this gym and if this was the only gym in my area, then I would just have to go to any other gym. 24 hour fitness you need to do better.

equipment is always broken, they take forever to fix to top it off, stairmasters aren't calibrated the same so they are different speeds then each other when on the same setting. Goodluck trying to use the cable fly machines their is 3 total and you'd be lucky enough to win the lottery if all 3 are functional at the same time. Also they are broken as well but still semi functional. The Hi-Lo pulley machines are a disaster, there are 4 main machines , one needs to be re oiled, one of the locking mechanisms on the other is hanging on by a thread, and the other two half the time can't be used with any of the equipment because the attachment to use handles is missing.

Gym does the job but man they have no dumbbells for small people like me. If you need anything about 35s, you’re set. They have like 4 pairs of dumbbells for 35lbs all the way to 120. But if you need a 20lbs dumbbell. Good luck. I found one 15 lb dumbbell once. And once did I find 12.5lbs. I think there is only one set of 17.5. They have the space for more dumbbells but they are no where to be found. Pretty frustrating seeing the gym cater to the beefcake but not for the newbie’s.

Great location with validated parking ($2.50 after validation). Has 2 stories with ample workout space, machines but with a shortage of lighter dumbbells such as 17.5, 20, etc. Other than that it’s great for a workout. There’s a sauna in the men’s locker room area as well as showers with glass doors. Not enough benches in locker room area though. Don’t forget to get the validation card at the gym before paying for parking or it’ll be $12. Also the gym parking is in the fourth basement floor so be mindful and don’t get towed or ticketed.

Honestly I used to work out at Golds in downtown and La fitness. The reason why I switched is because both of those gyms were becoming increasingly more and more packed with little to no room to Lift. Weight times for machines were out of control. Planet fitness at this location is never that busy even at peak times. Working out here gets the job done and there is room for everyone.

Theres only been one fully working rowing machine out if about six for over a year. The rest all have broken foot holders or pull bars, I've notified the staff multiple times. Very frustrating as its the only machine i use there. Please get it fixed. Edit: can you give me a real response please? Not the "we're so concerned about your satisfaction" response you gave while providing no solution. Will you them fixed or not?

In all honesty, this was going to be a one star review. I have been staying here at the Los Angeles athletic club since Sunday evening. I have stayed in their single queen and their king room as well as their suite and I also got two double queen rooms that were connecting for my family for one night so I’ve been here a lot plus, I am a member with a long history of loyalty to the athletic club so let me explain why I was very disappointed initially I was having a very hard time getting connecting rooms for the double queens None of the representatives at the front desk were helping me and I need them connected because I have little siblings that need to be close to my parents. I was getting nowhere with the annoying people there at the front desk until Melissa a charming young woman took command and literally through the annoying gentleman to the side approved, connecting rooms for my family. It was just amazing because in her mind as well as mine, it was that easy for a loyal member get it done and that’s what she did After that initial snafu. Everything was smooth sailing until this morning. There was another altercation with the same annoying staff they were unable to put the hold on my card, even though in my bank, it shows that they kept taking it out over and over again it never showed in their system, so by the end of trying to check in my family I had over $1000 and hold for no reason and has anybody who stays in downtown Los Angeles knows you need that money in your debit card so you can go do things without having to transfer funds or God forbid having no funds on top of that that gentleman had removed the connecting rooms But like last time here comes Melissa to the rescue once again throws this annoying gentleman aside puts in the connecting rooms by forcibly, putting a cold or something to override his to be honest I don’t know. I was just stunned in amazement and promised that she would correct the hold by checkout. The facilities and rooms were amazing. The restaurants were gorgeous and was live entertainment plus a comedian on the final night so I guess what I’m saying is Melissa saved your guys ass thank you so much Melissa. I hope they make you manager of the front desk end of hotel coordination the way you handled yourself with authority And speed to check all of us in when that dimwit couldn’t was amazing.

Incredible hotel, filled with hidden gems. Everything you need in 1 place if you enjoy a fit and healthy lifestyle. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff from the front desk to the restaurant. 10/10 experience. Any couple or family who enjoy health and fitness should stay here. However, beware. If you’re in LA to sight see.. you may not make it outside this amazing establishment.

Beautiful old facility with incredible indoor Olympic pool and a great gym. In terms of the service it's kind of hit or miss. They don't quite have it working like a regular hotel. It was hard to get the room cleaned, yeah picked up etc. Overall we're really happy to have stayed here however. Just know it is quirky.

Lovely hotel whether you want to stay active or not. Staff are super efficient and friendly. Sierra at the bar is the best! Nothing was too much trouble. I had a spin class that was like a PT session. The sauna and stream rooms are in the ladies locker room. This extra privacy was fab. Very close to the metro. Like anywhere in downtown LA you needs your wits about you when you leave the hotel.

Overall, I thought the facility was very clean. The service was excellent. The amenities were for the most part lovely. Sierra, the bar keep in Dukes, was fantastic. She was very good at her job and has excellent energy and Communication skills. I was disappointed that they did not have larger size robes in the hotel room or spa. For a facility of this caliber and price point, not to have robes to fit all size guests, is unheard of and offensive. Also, the handicap shower stall in the ladies room did not have a privacy curtain. I think this is an epic fail on the part of management, and shows lack of concern for those with special needs. Overall I like the facility but they have some work to do to make it exceptional.

Actually a nice gym but I would never get another membership from them again. Even if you request for your membership to be cancelled it could still not be cancelled if you accept to freeze the membership for a month. Their app will tell you that your plan is over but you’ll still be getting charged month to month without receiving any notification. Hadn’t visited this gym in over year yet they charged me for 9 ($900) months without my knowledge although I expressed my desire to cancel.

I was visiting LA this past week and was looking forward to working out at the gym in Santa Monica as well as the LA gym. I am a member of John Reed Fitness here in Dallas where I live, and love it. I went to the Santa Monica facility for my morning workout and had a great experience, so I thought I'd hit the older LA gym for my evening workout as have heard good things about that location from people I know. It was after 6PM when I arrived so it was a bit crowded. It is also a very large facility so it did not seem to overwhelming and I didn't have to wait or fight over weights and machines. As I had heard, it was a bit louder as they had a DJ spinning during the time I was there. I had a short, but nice workout, but didn't stay too long, as I was still a bit soar from my morning workout in Santa Monica and my 3 mile walk down Venice Beach earlier that day. The equipment and facilities were clean and the showers and locker rooms well maintatined. JRLA definitely has a different vibe than the SM gym, but I would still recommend this gym, as well as any of the John Reed Fitness Centers. I look forward to visiting their European gyms in the upcoming years as I travel.

Excellent gym with amazing ambience and scenery. When you walk down into the work out area it feels like you’re stepping into a high end night club with a bunch of high end gym equipment. The trainers and customer service agents are real courteous and professional. It’s a great place that’s motivated me to workout daily. During peak times it gets pretty busy but everybody has been good with gym equipment etiquette. There are a lot of gym goers using cameras etc but they’ve all been cool & I’ve had no problems with them. If it had a pool and basketball court it’d be a complete gym, but overall it’s still an amazing workout spot. It’s a chill vibe and a spot that motivates you through watching others work hard. I’d say get some good noise cancelling headphones also because this place gets loud. Lots of lockers, a sauna and showers. Also covered Garage parking is available and validated for two hours.

There are plenty of machines for just about all muscle groups that are relatively new. This is the biggest pro. The cons are primarily lack of attention to detail. Specifically in the context that this gym is not the price of 24hr, Planet, you have it. The saunas I don’t think have been cleaned out since the day the gym opened (check the cracks between slates in the benches). Numerous machines are broken and haven’t been fixed in months (the calf extension machine only works for someone 6’6” or taller as example). The locker rooms - yes trash from the trash can is removed - are not regularly kept up. Lockers can be manually locked by customers and then not unlocked till staff does so…what this means is greater than 75% of lockers are perpetually locked and inaccessible until once in a blue moon when the cycle restarts. Do note all complaints of this nature have been expressed to management via email on numerous occasions. Employees at the desk who pay no mind to customers - only to their cell phones - is a bit of icing on the cake when these concerns are being voiced. Again, some perks, but I’d say the bar needs to be raised.
