The dude behind the counter took my payment and didn't offer me any directions on where anything in the building was. After spending ten minutes looking for the pool I was told it's been closed for a year now. If I'd have known about that I probably wouldn't have paid 70 dollars to join.

Allegheny YMCA, great place to get your sweat on. Full service, with a full size basketball court, pool, studio rooms, weight room and cardio room. Oh yes, yoga! They have trainers, and the best staff. Cost is more than reasonable. Now, go get your sweat on!

Whoever that blond haired, thinner woman is at the front desk, mid 40’s, SUPER SUPER RUDE! you guys need to fire your staff and hire people that represent good customer service. I will never visit this YMCA again. I can’t believe the ignorance that these females show the members of this YMCA. Shaking their head and staring at members blatantly irritated with signing them in. Outrageous behavior. The lockers are all rusted out and have holes in them. Close the place down and replace things to make it a welcoming experience. I have no idea what kind of establishment would allow customers to use this establishment in the condition that the facility is in. If Someone gets cut on these lockers a lawsuit will be immediately filed. I can’t believe the level of disrespect and lack of customer service. These staff members have. Very dissatisfied. Never returning.

recently got a membership and was told that the pool was out of order and will be for the foreseeable future so i tried to go to another ymca to use their pool and wasn’t allowed to for some odd reason. the weight room ac is also broke so you can’t work out without being half dead the entire time. all of the facilities are extremely old and the fact that i can’t use my membership at any other Ymca is extremely disappointing. will most likely be canceling soon

This place literally disgusts me. I sent my children here for summer camp this year. I paid the full amount of money, but they didn't do half of the things they promised. My children were not properly supervised. My youngest son came home with bad marks on the back of his head, and both my children complained that the counselors made them uncomfortable. One of the counselors, Aaron, is in the middle of a gender transition and made my boys call him Ms. which made them truly uncomfortable. The last day there my son asked him to please give him some space because he was uncomfortable with how close Aaron was and Aaron responded with, "I'm glad I'm making you uncomfortable." That's sick. I will never send my children here again.

Easily our favorite gym that we've been members of. Plenty of high quality equipment, including more specialized items like a reverse hyper. Owners are amazing folks with so much experience that they are always happy to share. We feel very comfortable in the space and find it to be a respectful atmosphere. Great for serious lifters but also those of us who love lifting but are a little less serious about it.

I've been going to Celli's Fitness for a few months now, and it’s easily the best gym experience I’ve had. The atmosphere and culture are incredible; everyone here is supportive, and the community vibe makes each visit something I genuinely look forward to. I recently took a squat masterclass with Ryan Celli himself, and I can't recommend it enough! Ryan’s expertise and mental cues helped me finally get comfortable with this dynamic movement, and my confidence has skyrocketed. Whether you’re new to lifting or an experienced athlete, you’ll get next-level coaching here. If you're looking for a gym that feels like home and actually helps you progress, Celli's Fitness is it. Highly recommended!

I absolutely love Cellis Fitness! It’s such a fantastic, family-owned gym that makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. Ryan and Dana, the owners, are genuinely friendly, down-to-earth people who clearly care about their members and have created a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. The gym is always clean and well-maintained, with plenty of equipment, so you never have to wait around. The other members are friendly too, and it feels like a true fitness community here. I couldn’t recommend Cellis Fitness more—if you’re looking for a quality gym that treats you like family, this is the place!

Best gym in Pittsburgh. Moved here from Louisiana and spent two years in Pittsburgh. Ryan and Dana make you feel like family! Has the perfect old school feel. They have something for everyone. Can’t recommend this gym enough to anybody looking for a place to workout!

I don't know that there could be any place better. I trained with Ryan on the big three compound lifts and it was the best experience I could've ever hoped for. Ryan really takes the time to break things down and explain why you're doing something or why he's changing something without making anything overly complicated. My form, knowledge, and confidence have all improved greatly since working with Ryan. The facility itself is immaculate and well maintained. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Celli's!

Today Thursday, July 30,3022 we went to this pool because our regular pool was closed. There were more people there in street clothes then people in bathing suits. Several ladies were there wearing bathing suits that was fit for a pool for adults only. When we walked to the kiddy pool on the side was a dirty used pull-up. The staff kept walking pass it. Then there was a group of teenagers that was doing inappropriate things. To top that off when the pool closed a fight broke out. Never will I go to that pool again.

I just won’t go back to that pool ever. There were a group of teens there who just didn’t listen the lifeguards told them to leave more than once but never followed through that group was fighting, dunking, cussing all types of stuff in front of my young kids….

Renee Robinson of Reset fitness took this girl who has never worked out and turned her into someone that could run, move and lift. Her experience and knowledge on health and fitness make her better than the rest. Renee learns your body and molds the workouts to what you can do and work towards as opposed to giving you a cookie cutter, "I seen this done on Instagram" routine. If I could give her more stars and kudos, I would. She's the G.O.A.T.

I'm sure my experience is not unique to some but it's important to share. I participated in the 21 Day Reset January 3, 2022 and I'm still honoring the principles of the program. The most important thing for a person like me (single mom, full time employee, full time student, community worker) is the coaching where I could bounce ideas, ask questions, and laugh. I'm extremely grateful to the Reset Team and Founder (Renee) for making this program available. Also, I would have NEVER thought that I would learn to love the plant based life. I don't want to spoil the program because you should definitely try it out for yourselves, but I have saved soooo much money by cooking my own meals without the hassle of feeling the need to meal prep. Hit up the Reset Team, you will not be sorry!

Went to my first Stretch It Aht! session, and it was great! Just what I needed, in terms of stretching/workout. It was adaptive- good for different levels of fitness, and incorporated yoga elements. Renee was knowledgeable and positive. Other participants were congenial, and I felt very comfortable. Definitely plan to return!

Reset Fitness is not just about working out physically it’s emotionally spiritually and mentally. While on my journey to wellness through the 21 day reset I have learned how to train my body to not eat certain things that I know aren’t good for me. It has allowed for me to eat real food and be proud of the growth that I have made. I can honestly say there are some things that I will not ever return to consuming and it’s all due to the knowledge gained through Renee ☺️ #finishtheset💪🏾

A nice safe place for women to workout in small group exercise. The trainer is tough but fair. She pushes you just enough to get results while inspiring you to continue and "finish the set". Classes in addition are offered virtually.

I attended a Kate Olson one-time class at this wonderful studio. I try to always sign up for any class with Kate as she’s a wonderful yoga teacher. I had not been to this studio since I moved from Mt Lebanon 20 years ago. I forgot how wonderful the space is! Being above street level and with lots of windows, this studio is quiet and full of natural light. Checking in for class was an easy process and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. This is a perfect spot for yoga and/or meditation classes. I highly recommend Nourish and Move studio!

Annie, Kayla, and the rest of the staff at Nourish and Move are extremely professional and knowledgeable. Before each massage I am consulted on how I am feeling, and which areas are highest priority. Annie does a great job of helping me recover from the rigors of weight training, hockey, and an active job. Her knowledge on specific techniques ensure that you get the most from your appointment. I highly recommend.

I highly recommend both Nourish & Move and any class offered (especially those led by Amanda!).

Concerns About Inclusivity and Communication in Locker Room and Sauna Areas I’ve been a member of this gym for many years and have always appreciated the community and the facilities here. However, I was disappointed after my visit yesterday and felt compelled to share my experience. While I fully support inclusivity and believe everyone deserves to feel safe and respected in the gym, I found myself in an uncomfortable situation. I was sharing the sauna with a transgender individual who hasn’t fully transitioned yet, which caught me off guard. I believe the gym should consider providing separate spaces for those who are in the process of transitioning to accommodate everyone’s comfort levels. What I was most upset about, however, was that I was not explicitly informed by membership services about the gym's inclusive policies, especially regarding the use of restrooms and locker rooms by individuals of all genders, including transgender members. Had I known this, I could have made a more informed decision about which locker room to choose or how to dress appropriately in the spa area. Several women in the locker room expressed concerns as well, particularly those who follow religious practices that require them to maintain certain modesty standards. They feel uncomfortable sharing spaces with individuals of a different gender. It’s important that the gym provides a space where everyone feels comfortable, regardless of gender identity, and I hope the management can find a way to address these concerns while maintaining an inclusive environment for all members. I think clear communication and perhaps more specific accommodations for those in transition could go a long way toward ensuring that everyone’s needs are met in a respectful and inclusive way. I’m hopeful that the gym will take these concerns into consideration and work toward finding a balance that accommodates everyone. It’s important to me that this community continues to be a safe and welcoming space for all.

I paid membership, set up the account in person , and even put my credit card on file. My card did not work and I had no access to the gym. The first two times I came in, the guy at the front told me it was likely cause I had just gotten it activated it and to give it a couple days. Finally, the most recent try a week after I activated membership, still wasn’t working. Front desk guy wasn’t very helpful or accommodating, just reciting “You don’t have active membership” to every question I had. Couldn’t hurt to be nicer when this isn’t an issue on your gym’s end. In terms of the actual gym equipment, there’s a good selection for cardio. Limited treadmills, so those are often fully occupied. Some pelotons, which is nice. Main area downstairs has strength machines and weights. There are two other rooms that offer more racks and floor space for mats. Lockers and showers are clean. Pool is well maintained. Definitely feels more like a family friendly workout space.

I was invited by a friend to try this place out as a guest. I really like the neighborhood it's in and the various amenities featured at this Community Center. I've been looking for a nice gym to join in the area that has everything this one does. The steam room, locker room area, sauna, and jacuzzi were all relatively clean and in working order. Unfortunately, I cannot give a 5 star rating based on a serious issue. On our way in, we were rudely stopped by a security guard who promptly said something like, "Where do you think you're going?" As he rudely questioned my friend, a member of this establishment, I stood there uncomfortably, wondering why it felt as though we were being harassed. The security guard eventually let us through and said something along the lines of "I meant no disrespect," after some long explanation of why he was stopping us on our way in (we were also running short on time). My friend seemed more startled than I was. He didnt even know how to respond other than to tell him that we are here to use the gym and do normal gym stuff. My friend, an established member, told me he has NEVER had this kind of experience before, and goes to this place multiple times a week. Then I remembered, I am quite used to being stopped and questioned for no reason when I go to certain places in certain areas. I can not help but wonder if the darker color of my skin, in comparison to his lighter color, has anything to do with the sudden ill treatment of my friend and I as we entered this establishment. I hate to even mention the idea, but then on our way out, we were stopped AGAIN by a different member of your team and told he was supposed to sign me in and this and that. We were so stunned by the behavior the security guard displayed toward us, we forgot to sign in, so they felt the need to stop us on our way out and mention it. Either way, I felt it was so ridiculous to be so closely watched, and that they felt the need to stop us on our way out as well as in. My friend admitted that it was very irregular and strange for that to happen. Meanwhile, I left there feeling uncomfortable and confused about whether or not I should ever go back, let alone join.

Our daughter started karate with Sensei George Mowod in 2015 before she started kindergarten, and it has been a defining part of her life since then. Sensei focuses students of all ages on elements of karate that are important in life - self-defense, yes, but also confidence, teamwork, generosity, leadership, responsibility, positive attitude, gratefulness, respect, and most importantly, kindness. We are very thankful to Sensei for all that he has done for our daughter and anyone else who has passed through his studio. Anyone out there trying to choose a martial arts studio, look no further.

after struggling with her self confidence, self worth, and bullying for a while, we decided to enter my daughter into karate at USA professional karate studio last year. i cannot express how much my daughter has found herself and grown since beginning karate classes here. i highly, highly recommend this studio if you and/or your kids are considering learning martial arts. starting in the eagles class, my daughter has not only been taught karate moves and techniques, but important lessons about self defense, bullying, setting goals, self discipline, honesty, kindness, teamwork, and more. USA professional karate and it’s sensei (george) are very clearly committed to helping and bettering kids and adults through karate in all areas of their lives. through karate, my daughter has gained an enormous degree of maturity, self worth, respect, and found her voice. and we cannot thank them enough for that.

Our middle son started here in March 2019- he was struggling at school and I was at the end of my rope in terms of shifts and changes we could make to help him. I had the erroneous perception that karate would increase his desire to fight with his brothers. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Sensei George Mowood is a treasure in squirrel hill. He is like the Cesar Milan of children, he knows how to child whisper, teach respect, give respect and help kids be their best selves. My oldest son is literally starting today. I wish I had found USA professional karate sooner but am so glad to have it in our lives now. Nothing is a panacea; but this place and this teacher have helped my family immensely

Hands down the best pilates experience I’ve ever had. Megan focuses on making you stronger on your timeline and with thoughtful consideration of your body‘s needs or limitations. She runs a compassionate, challenging and fun environment and really listens to your goals and needs. In the past two years with her I’ve gotten stronger in ways I did not expect! Her 1:1 sessions are tailored to me and she always makes sure to challenge me and check in to see how my week has been (sometimes I need more stretching time, for example). Her group classes are also fun and challenging. Cannot recommend this studio enough!

Been at BD pilates for about 5 weeks. Individual lessons with Megan who is phenomenal. Business is clean, equipment is well maintained and new, and space is warm/bright/inviting. Megan is really specific in her instructions for newbies (like me) she is kind, empathic and super patient as she works with you to learn the world of pilates moves, lingo, etc. I found her approach to be really humble but her knowledge and expertise super high. I absolutely love this studio and give it my highest recommendation for someone new to pilates who really wants individual sessions and a knowledgeable, kind, and super easy to work with instructor.
