I agree with the reviewer who said this gym is not good for less serious students, who just end up getting shuffled around with the older kids. Almost every time i observed the class, the younger kids were playing by themselves to the side and completely unengaged by the teachers. When I brought this up to staff, they somewhat condescendingly told me it was probably because my daughter just wasn't interested in gymnastics. We used to do Gymkhana, though- my daughter loved it and was always excited to show us what she had learned. We thought we would try premier because it was much closer to our house, but I'd definitely recommend Gymkhana if you are looking for teachers who are good with preschool/kindergarten age children.

My daughter has been attending Premier for gymnastics since she was 3 years old. She absolutely loves it there! They have wonderful coaches who take the times to work with the girls and always encourage them. My daughter gets a chance to see some of the older girls working out at the same time as her, and I think it motivates her to try even harder to achieve the same level as them, one day. Barb, in the front office, is always extremely helpful to the parents and the girls. I can’t say enough good things about Premier. I look forward to many more years to come!

Would not recommend to ANYONE that is not interested in competitive gymnastics or cheerleading. Signed my 6 year old daughter up for her first year of recreational gymnastics...cannot watch her class, cancelled two classes that I paid for WITHOUT providing advance notice. When it occurred the second time, I made a comment and the girl working said "Well, it's not MY fault!" During my daughter's gymnastics classes the instructors are bored and playing on their phones, or are busy watching the girls that are involved in the competitive side practice. The younger girls just get shuffled around the gym to stay out of the way of the bigger girls that are practicing for competitive. Wouldn't go back there for anything. Will pay the extra $75 to get my daughter into a quality gym that values all of their students, not just the ones that are winning the trophies.

Top notch coaching staff!! You as a student will be challenged to your peak performance, and then excel past that. You can also book a private party for an open gym experience as well. An absolute must! Love this place

We recently hosted a birthday party at Iron City Ninja, and it was a blast! The staff was helpful, guiding the kids through different Ninja Warrior-style obstacles and keeping them engaged and excited. Not to mention the games of tag, the most entertaining part in my opinion! By the end of the party, the kids were thrilled and exhausted from all the activity. It was a memorable and energetic experience, and we’d definitely recommend Iron City Ninja for an unforgettable birthday celebration!

Outstanding local gym! Clean. No nonsense, no foolishness, no drama, and a great selection of equipment that you will (probably) never have to wait in line for. You will find friendly people inside who are serious about fitness. Skip the chains and go to lifeforce.

Awesome gym feels like the last of the true havens for lifting. Day passes for 10$ perfect. I use this gym Everytime I am in town. Leave LA fitness alone, don't go to planet fitness just come here. Everyone is kind, accepting and just concerned with lifting.

Visited this gym about a year ago for a membership inquiry. While I did not tour this small facility, it struck me as a weightlifters' gym with a preference for men. Too much testosterone there for me.

My wife and I made a reservation to enjoy a couples massage. This family run business provided a great experience. Both Shannon (professional athlete)and Anna are fantastic massage therapists. The atmosphere was inviting, welcoming and cozy! Our bodies have never been treated so right! Btw, their no nonsense gym looks very well equipped and amazing. Thank you guys! 😊 We’ll definitely be back!

Anna and Alonzo were absolutely amazing! It was my boyfriend and I’s first time receiving a couples massage and they both made us feel extremely comfortable in an environment where some may feel vulnerable. After the massage we both felt like we were reborn and completely rejuvenated! 10/10 would recommend their services to anyone in the market!!

I booked a couples massage for myself and my boyfriend, his first time having a professional massage. Our experience was wonderful, and Shannon and Anna adapted beautifully to our individual preferences and needs. A great relaxing atmosphere in a wonderfully run family business. The ONLY critique I would have is that I wish the $20 upcharge for evenings/weekends was already worked into the price (discounted for weekday instead of the upcharge) but being a family oriented business, I do understand it. Thank you both for a great experience, we will definitely be back!

As a member, I can tell you this gym is disgusting. The equipment is old and some of it is broken. This is a picture of an extension cord for a light in the men's room. Bathrooms are often out of order, and the gym is dirty. Staff is never there, and honestly, they aren't needed anyway. This gym is filthy and outdated. Do not join if you care about having a working bathroom, lights, or clean environment. Otherwise, it's perfect. Update woman's room now no water. Broken equipment they don't fix it they just put notes..Decided to leave this gym and head to Crunch fitness. There is plenty of equipment and imagine the water works and lights aren't rigged. Snap Futness on mcknight should have the board of health called.

Updated to add- it's been a week since the gym responded that they were actively working to fix the problem, and it's still the same, so not only do they not care about the gym and it's members, they have no issue with making false claims and blatantly lying! Going on three weeks now with no usable women's restrooms, what a gym! Worst gym in the greater Pittsburgh area. Bare bones, outdated and often broken equipment, but by far the worst is the women's bathroom not being usable for over a week now with no estimate of when it will be fixed due to the owner being out of the country until January. The owner does not care about the gym or it's members, it's a disgrace. Making his staff use money from their own pocket to fix leaks to keep the gym open is shameful. Bathrooms with a functional toilet and sink are essential. Don't waste your money here

I have been a member here for a while now. I've tried every other gym in the area and this one is the best interms of service and convenience ( I am a body builder). The gyms down the road on mknight have huge contracts and take you through hoops if you want to get out of them. Also ony a few others are actually 24 hrs as most claim to be but make you pay extra or do a "soft close" after 9 PM. This place being 24 hrs and close to where I live helps a bunch. The staff was super helpful and she made it easy to set up my guest pass for family and start and stop membership whenever I have to leave town. The members keep to themselves but are helpful if you have fitness questions. Also, I am a big fan of the key card system, I am in and out without issue.

For the past couple of weeks, I have noted a sewer smell in the vicinity of the water fountain. Yesterday, the smell was horrendous. Obviously there is a plumbing problem that needs to be addressed immediately! The rating of four stars is based prior to the sewer smell and assumes the plumbing problem is fixed quickly.

I’ve been using Crunch Fitness for a while now, and I have to say that the overall gym experience has been good. However, I’ve had serious concerns about the childcare service, particularly with one staff member. There’s a staff member who has a consistently bad attitude. She doesn't seem well-trained when it comes to working with children. Recently, while peaking through the window I saw her l grab my 1-year-old son Im assuming after he threw a toy or something along those lines. She doesn’t seem to ever redirect his behavior or try to resolve the situation, she seems overwhelmed and doesn’t attempt to communicate or engage with him in a positive way. When I asked about it, there was no effort to address my concerns or offer an explanation. It’s clear that this staff member spends more time holding or playing with other children but doesn’t engage with my son at all. This makes me feel as though he is being treated differently under her care, which is extremely concerning as a parent. That being said, there is another staff member who works in the evenings and she is absolutely wonderful. She’s always pleasant, attentive, and patient with the kids. I’ve never had an issue with her, and I always feel comfortable leaving my child in her care. Unfortunately, because of the inconsistent and concerning behavior of some of the staff, I don’t feel comfortable leaving my children in the childcare area anymore. It's a shame because the gym itself is great, but childcare is a huge part of the experience for parents. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and ensures that all staff members are properly trained and held to higher standards when it comes to child care

They don't value the safety of their members. I looked for clamps for my barbell for squats. None to be found. I asked for some up front. They told me to look again. I found broken ones and tried to use those. In the process three forty five lb weights came off the bar mid squat. I go tell the front. They told me to look again. I take one more lap before I finally said enough to management. Then he gas lights me with all you had to do was ask (four times, walk for half an hour in circles and almost kill yourself). He then suggests I pay my own money for my own clamps. For a gym I spend thirty bucks a month on. His next best suggestion was cancelling my membership. Finally something we can Agree on

I’ve been a member of this gym for about 2 years. My favorite part of the gym is the sauna, when I’m in training season the sauna is great for recovery. The copious amounts of treadmills is awesome. The staff in the early morning have always been pleasant. I would like to warn people of their cancellation policy. In order to cancel your membership, you are required to sign a cancellation form in person with a manager only. I suggest calling the gym ahead of time to make sure a manager is available in the period of time you are planning to come in. Unfortunately, I came during the hours that they told me that a manger WOULD be available (Monday-Thursday 10am-9pm, Saturday-Sunday 7am-2pm) and there was no available manger for me to complete my cancelation. I specifically got someone to cover for me at work while I took my lunch to go cancel my membership only to be told no one was available and I would have to come back. I wasted an hour of my time and my lunch break (driving to and back from the gym), not including my second trip to the gym later that day. There was no “sorry for the inconvenience” or any accommodation for the inconvenience this situation caused me. I’m leaving a 5 star review in good faith because I never had an issue with the gym or the staff before this situation, but I do wish someone would have at least apologized. I have worked in a client facing industry my whole career and I have dealt with unhappy clients, I understand how it feels, so I hope this 5 star review can influence the gym to form a better cancellation process and help them communicate more clearly with their customers. I still do recommend this gym, I just hope other people have a better experience than I did! :)

1. Gym is gross. When you pick up dumbbells or a bar, there is a thick layer of grease and sweat. 2. They bill like con artists/scammers. They bumped up my rate without notifying me, and I was paying an extra 7 dollars a month for an upgraded plan that I did not request or desire. This went on for over a year. "It's in the contract." Oh well hundreds of dollars lost to these scumbags. Also, they will charge you an extra fee to cancel your membership, and they will bill you for an extra month after you cancel because "it's in the contract." 3. You can't cancel over the phone or email despite assurances from some of the staff. In fact you can only cancel in person during certain hours of the day. They make you come in person to cancel so the manager can body shame you, tell you about your bad eating habits, and try to make you feel guilty for not coming in to workout. 3. It's extremely crowded. If you come after work you will wait to use basic equipment like a bench or squat rack. 4. The only water fountain in the gym was broken for a year... completely ridiculous. 5. Sauna perpetually broken.

I am extremely disappointed with LA Fitness. I signed up my entire family for memberships just last month specifically for the swimming pool, only to learn that it’s being permanently closed as of December 13, 2024. This feels incredibly misleading and unfair. Due to low usage? Any time I've been there, it was hard to find a pool lane with fewer than 2 people already in it. Had I known the pool would be shut down, I never would have joined. Families like mine rely on the amenities you advertise when making these decisions, and this lack of transparency has left us feeling cheated. I expect better communication and accountability from a company like LA Fitness. This has been a major letdown, and I’m seriously reconsidering our memberships.

Really nice weight lifting and cardio areas. The front staff is very nice and welcoming. However, The sauna hasn’t been hot in 2 months, there was human vomit in one of the showers for an entire weekend recently. I wish they would clean the locker rooms and ensure their sauna works properly especially since they’ve slashed expenses by shutting down the pool.

There is a REASON Powerhouse Pittsburgh is the best in the Burgh. The atmosphere once you walk in is incredible. Staff is so friendly and actually take the time to talk to you. Equipment is great, lots of great equipment for leg days. The gym is split into different sections depending what you're hitting. One area for legs, back, push, free weights, powerlifting cage area, AND posing room. They have Strive, Cybex, Icarian, Hammer Strength. I'd love to see Powerhouse get more Nautilus & Prime fitness equipment.

This was one of our favorite birthday parties!! It was clean, organized and so much fun!! Our 10 year old son and 16 friends had an absolute blast— and the staff and owner (and his son Leo— the strongest and most talented 7 year old ninja I know) were stellar additions to the party! Highly recommended for a birthday party, class, or open gym!!!! And they were super responsive and readily available to schedule all the details of the party. Why doesn’t google allow 6 stars? Kudos, Steel City Ninja! We will definitely be back!!!!

Huge let down. Drove an hour for a tiny facility and dead open gym. Details? Called hours ahead and arrived 20 minutes early. Not one heads up about footwear. When it was time to hit the floor, we were told my son needed tennis shoes (we are from the competitive gymnastics world, we didn’t know), which is no biggie. I quickly acknowledged we should have known, took ownership for not knowing and asked what stores were local (for me to purchase my son a quick pair of shoes), Staff actually argued that he should wear the Crocs and tried to reassure that it’s safe. I finally expressed firmly we are not comfortable with Crocs and to my surprise, both the Staff and Owner doubled down, saying my opinion is “unfounded.” Extremely weird and off putting interaction. We remained as positive as possible, made the best of the hour in his socks and left. Please for the love of your kiddos ankles don’t let these people tell you Croc's are safe to Ninja in…. Unfortunately, an experience like this makes me question their credentials, what people they’ve mislead (who may not know any better), depth of “expertise” and needless to say, we will not be back. Fellow Parents - this is your reminder to always look into the “pros” you’re hiring and don’t be afraid to ask questions! Reply: Scott Carslaw and there’s the red flag - I can see you’re too busy defending your staff to realize there is a possibility your staff was in the wrong. That’s a blind spot dude. It is not your footwear policy that was off putting to me as a consumer, it was the staff member arguing that I should allow my son on the floor with Crocs on. Legit went back and forth with me, to the point that I had to explain more than once why it’s not okay. I communicated to you she was likely not trying to be malicious nor was it necessarily an attitude problem, today she made a mistake and ultimately crossed a line with a parent. That’s a great learning moment for a young coach, I agree she’s probably great, but still doesn’t make it correct. If you’re a tenured coach, you should be able to look back on mistakes you’ve made/learned from, too. To be clear - 99% of the time I can respect that initial support of your team. You should, however, consider the 1% that your team is human and today a brand new patron of your business was wronged. We did not have interest in any program except yours, but after today and now that you mention it, maybe I will look into starting one.👍🏼
