I started coming to this location about 2 weeks ago when the Planet Fitness i normally go to on Roosevelt Blvd closed. And at first I was a little discombobulated because I was so used to going to my home gym for years. The manager Genisis was aware of the closing situation and Welcomed me to her gym. She answered every question I had and all the staff we friendly and polite. But the thing i was the most impressed with was the supervisor, Genisis... she always has a friendly smile, she is constantly cleaning the machine and work out area. She is never to busy to answer questions and it is for this reason I am going to make this my home gym. I would definitely recommend this location to all of my family and friends who are looking for a ckean, respectful place to get fit 💪!!!!

Always a car parked in front of the handicapped access ramp.... wish they would do something about that as there is literally a senior medical center next door that needs that ramp to be accessible.... And assholes play music on their phones without headphones. And employees don't do a damn thing about it. It's trash.

It’s always either dirty or crowded. I don’t enjoy coming here. Suppose to be no egos coming in the gym but the egos start right at the door w some of the staff that work there. One in particular is borderline harassing me. They must get paid $20 a month off my membership or something. I do not recommend. If you can afford another gym go elsewhere

Where to begin!!!! Place be crowded 99% of the time. A lot of young kids just taking up the machines for selfies. Also, the staff allows random membership holders to hold “fitness classes” especially the one dude that is always here at night harassing the young ladies into letting him trained them, today was an example, a whole area of the gym taken by this senior citizen supposedly training women, because he prefers to train women. Staff saw all this and did nothing!!!!! I miss Blink Fitness. Your gym sucks.

It’s a decent gym. Made for hardcore members but can still get work done. Showers are nasty. They haven’t changed their shower curtains in God knows how long and u can tell they don’t clean the showers often. Other than that it’s cool. Just wish they’d change the shower curtain and clean the showers often throughly more often. will post pictures of shower next time I go in.

The fitness center has a wide range of equipment and classes. Crowding can be an issue during peak hours, so try visiting during off-peak times for a better experience.

Bridget was very nice and helpful. That being said, some of the machines are in poor condition. It was also too dark and no air conditioning. If they fixed these things, I will go back.

I don’t want to say too much because I am a current member and they read these reviews. This gym is for hardcore , not picky gym goers who are able to overlook the many many failures at this aged club. It is what it is I still go twice a week and enjoy my time there. It is what you make it.

My first visit to this gym was today on 6/4/19. Very helpful gym host at the front desk. My family and I came here for my son to start a workout but we decided to stay and workout with him. We had a great workout and burned calories on the excellent equipment they have there. Great atmosphere to do your business. Women and Men bathrooms has a shower, lockers, a stall but no door, just curtains. Its conveniently located next to a family dollar if you forgot a towel or need a drink while your at the gym. We will be returning for more workouts here without a doubt.

Mayfair Fitness has been my gym since 2016, and it meets my expectations. Despite its size, it offers a comprehensive workout experience and boasts a fantastic, dedicated community. The positive environment and familiar faces create a welcoming atmosphere. Machines work well and there’s a wide variety. If you value a less crowded space and a committed community, Mayfair Fitness is the perfect choice. I genuinely love my experience here.

This gym is extremely outdated and in poor condition. The equipment is old and often broken. To make matters worse, the owner was dishonest and manipulative regarding my cancellation. Despite informing him of my intent to cancel, he claimed the 30-day cancellation period began when he decided he received my notice, leading to an extra, unwarranted charge. He then tried to shift the blame onto me via text, questioning when I had informed him of my cancellation, even though he had previously called me trying to convince me to stay. This kind of deceptive business practice is unacceptable.

I have been going to this gym for several years now, and I appreciate it more than any other gym I have ever been a member of. it's local, cost efficient, and generally clean. Just sometimes have to deal with the ones who tend not to put things back where they belong and make a mess of things, but everyone there for the most part is respectful. Great neighborhood gym.

Phenomenal staff, super friendly, and highly caring. They help me anytime I have a question or need something. Just recently I suddenly was not feeling well during my work out session and the staff jumped in right away to help me. They took care of the whole issue. Truly kind folks. I could not be more grateful. The premises are also always spotless clean, plenty of great equipment to choose from. I highly recommend this location!!!

This location is very clean and organized. It’s nice to come and find the weights on the racks instead of having to walk around the gym for 5-10 minutes locating equipment like I had to at the Cottman location. It’s also nice that it’s less crowded instead of with a bunch of teenagers standing around on their phones. And the bathrooms and showers are clean.

Clean gym. Nice people. Lots of parking. Good staff. HOWEVER! The air conditioning and heating system seem to be fighting it out. There are blasts of cold air and pockets of hot drafts all over the gym. And the back area is like a jungle, hot and humid.

I'm in my forties and love waking up early and working out it was hard at first but after 2 weeks get addicted and you start eating healthier and you just look and feel like you have natural energy and I wear less make-up now then I did in my twenties Planet Fitness is always clean and very friendly and very spaced out so when you're working out you're not on top of everyone and there is a variety of different things you can do they just need to start staying open 24 hours like they used to before the covid

Honestly I was a nervous wreck when I joined. For a few years I wanted to join a gym where workouts were programmed and I could count on a trainer/coach for help and support (I didn't know a lot about strength training). I worked out at the standard gyms and honestly never felt like I truly worked out! Here, I am learning so much, the trainers are easy to talk with and VERY encouraging. They meet you where you are on your fitness level and help you improve. I am so happy I put my fears aside and sent that email. :)

No Limit is hands down the best gym I’ve ever been to. I always shied from lifting because I felt overwhelmed managing a program, but Sean does all the thinking for you. All you have to do is walk through the front door and you’re set up for success. A good coach is crucial for me - Sean beats “good” by a million. He genuinely cares for each athlete in and out of the gym, pushes you to your full potential, has extensive knowledge on nutrition, recovery, fitness, and is an all around great human. Join this gym if you want to reach your full potential as an athlete and improve everyday life.

10/10 experience. Since joining No Limit Gym my life has gotten so much better in so many aspects. Besides motivating me to improve my nutrition, this gym has made me stronger physically and mentally. The best part is that the coaches create the training program so you just have to show up and follow instructions. I don’t think anyone would be able to have as great of a workout at any other gym in the city.

Everything about this gym is top tier! All of the coaches Sean, Rick, and Andrea are kind, patient and encouraging. They will push you to work harder and hold you accountable. Any fitness level can join, if needed the movements can be modified. Not the typical pretentious, overly competitive, CrossFit gym! All the members are friendly, welcoming and supportive of each other. There are plenty of class times throughout to day to fit any schedule. Plus, the music is always on point to keep you hype for the workout!

You will not find a better or more experienced coach in Philly I have been training with Stay Fly Muay Thai now for 2 years and I can say I hve not had a bad experience with Justin as my coach nor with the other students that attend. Justin is an extremely qualified coach with nearly 20 years of experience and 100 professional fights. I have witnessed him teach classes of 30 people and I have had private lessons as well. No matter how big or small a class, the level of quality does not change. Justin has taught me since day one and I will never go to another gym. Justin teaches you all the fundamentals from punching, kicking kneeing, and elbowing to fast pace combos. He always explains the process to achieve perfect form and takes time to talk about all the details. Whether you are looking to get fit, train for a fight or start a new hobby, this is the place to go. Justin focuses on all his students and caters to their needs. He can be sensative or stern depending on what you want out of the class. He will always push you to the amount that you are comfortable with. I have followed this coach to three gyms and would gladly follow him to a fourth. The current gym still needs some renovation but that does not take away from the passion Justin or his students have for Muay Thai.

I love this place! Before coming to Stay Fly I had absolutely zero experience with Muay Thai. I normally go to a traditional gym to lift weights and do cardio, but after relocating to Philadelphia, I was looking to step outside of my comfort zone a bit. I'm glad I did! Stay Fly has a real family feel to it. The instructors and the other students are approachable and always happy to help you with your technique. The classes are really fun, and the time flies by when you're training. Overall, it's been a great experience. Not only have I been able to get a good workout in, but I've also been given the chance to meet people and be a part of a community.

if you are looking to take your exercise routine above and beyond, this is the place! I highly recommend getting into shape before taking any classes, however everyone is very helpful and will push you past your limits. The sessions are very organized and fast paced with great instructors. The environment is clean and comfortable. The people are of all ages and different cultures which just adds even more to your learning potentials. For any person who loves combat sports training, ya gotta check it out.

The guys and gals at Stay Fly are fantastic. The classes are intense but not intimidating at the same time. The instructors try to keep things laid back yet there is always an emphasis on technique. There are members who compete regularly and also members that just want a great workout. Additionally, there are also free weights (squat racks, dumbbells etc) and heavy bags too, in case you want to do some solitary work. Bottom line is if you're in Philly and want to train Muay Thai, I highly recommend Stay Fly.

The value and flexibility of training here is excellent. You'd be hard pressed to find better instruction on Muay Thai or weight training, especially under one roof. People are friendly, accepting, and come to work towards their personal goals. Haven't encountered the big egos/insecurities that sometimes come with combat sports. Justin has worked hard on Muay Thai for quite a while, built an excellent small business from the ground up, and is 100% engaged as an instructor. Stay Fly does Philly proud.

I don’t particularly like exercising but Angela’s spin class on Tuesdays and Thursdays is my exception! She’s very kind and upbeat to everyone regardless of experience and fitness levels. She always explains everything but lets you know to go at your own pace. She mixes in local musical artists so I feel like I’m learning about Philly music as a bonus. The other regulars in the class are very nice and it’s fun to see them regularly. I should probably check out the gym and other classes but really I keep my membership for Angela’s classes.

8 Limbs Academy is a West Philly institution. It is an exceptional gym that offers a structured program suitable for all levels. The owners and Coaches, Charlie and Kate, have cultivated a welcoming, inclusive environment and diverse community where everyone—from beginners to seasoned fighters — have a place. And they are assisted by an able and committed team of coaches. The sessions are rigorous, as challenging as you want them to be, and always enjoyable. Coach Kate and Charlie have succeeded in establishing a serious but also very friendly gym, and everyone here is very respectful and considerate of each other.

Gym may be good I don’t know, but there is a man there by the name of Ola Donaldson or coach O. He is a personal trainer and boxing coach. He scammed my 15 year old son out of 570$. We paid for one on one boxing lessons and equipment we never received. He told us he was the owner of Liberty fitness Boxing studio then when we asked for a refund because he switched locations to this current gym without telling us. He then said he was not the owner of Liberty Fitness Boxing studio. He said we would be getting a refund and it’s been a month and never received it. He also stopped all communication. Not a honest person in our experience. We would not receive you do business with Ola Donaldson or liberty fitness boxing studio, who is now using this current gym as the place where he does his business. In response to the owners reply: as of October 9th 2022 Mr Donaldson was a Member at this gym. I know this because he had my son come down there and then told us we needed to purchase a membership in order to receive the personal training from him, at this facility. Like previously stated, I do not know about this gym and it may be a great gym but Mr. Donaldson was at the time instructing his clients to come there to receive trainings from him.
