Best of the best equipment and staff. it’s a very uplifting environment from the time you enter and from the time you leave thanks to the friendly staff and members. This LA fitness location is a great place to exercise Every problem is always solved for to satisfy members. The music is always jamming I wonder what music source the music is played from. I must call and ask corporate.

This gym has a good selection of equipment, but no other amenities. You can tell it was nicer once. There are remnants of towel service and a juice bar. The worst thing is the plumbing in the locker room has issues every week or two. You show up in the morning planning on taking a shower after your workout, and it is completely closed off. They don't post anything to give you a warning. There is also an elevator to the locker room (in the basement) that has been broken down as long as I have been going here. It's fine if you are reasonably fit, but if you can't do a lot of stairs you won't be able to get to the lockers or pool anyway. Update: On 1/27/2025 the gym was entirely closed for maintenance issues. No prior notice was given. Commuters were showing up at the door at 5 am with no place to go. This gym is really garbage. Go somewhere else if you can.

The gym is quite big even though it doesn't look it from the outside. There is a pool, jacuzzi, dry sauna, cardio, personal training area, basketball court, dance studio, lounge with desk to work, free weights and more. Literally everything. Lots of university of Chicago student athletes train here. It's a bit of maze to get to but you can enter from pedway or the street.

I have gone to many gyms over the years. Many of them have been dodgy. Since I'm a 2 minute walk from LA fitness I thought I'd go talk to them. I was pleasantly surprised, Emily the rep for signing people up was so warm and friendly. She was very straightforward with the details of a membership, I was impressed. Since I've joined I have been very happy, the gym is very clean and the people are great to be around. Their equipment is also very nice state of the art. The price is not to be believed to be honest. I paid over double at my old gym. I guess I feel really good about LA fitness with Emily as the ambassador I know if any troubles arise she will be in my corner. To be honest I'm very picky, but to me LA fitness really is the perfect gym. When I said in my corner here is what I meant. My previous club which was quite up scale with contracts, is where I had a problem. I had a botched spinal tap which left me able to do little. I had the letter from my physician that stated I could not work out indefinitely but they continued charging me . It was messy. Having Emily on the staff I know something like that not would not happen.

This is a very great La fitness center. Furthermore the weights and the environment is very organized. Also the customer service is very exceptional and terrific. In addition I would highly recommend any individual that wants to get a very nice workout in to visit this La fitness center.

This gym is exactly what I was looking for. Clean, up to date equipment, plenty of space to workout and the steam room and saunas are amazing! Shout out to Robert who went above and beyond for me!

This gym is the perfect combination of elevated fitness, luxury, and wellness. Lots of machines available and always easy to get a great workout at this location.

The team is so friendly here and the gym is a great option for after-work workout or a morning workout before work! Great sauna and spa options!

Great club. Checks all the boxes. Clean locker room, clean and always-organized workout areas, great Kiehl’s amenities, towels, etc. Even the patrons seem to be good about reracking weights (mind blown). Everything you’d expect from an Equinox. A bit on the small side…but still I’ve never seen it too crowded when visiting this club.

It's a nice gym but the GM here isn't helpful at all and overall, Equinox is always playing games with their rate increases with no notice, above market personal training rates and more. It's so frustrating.

I love my worldwide Soho House membership and love having the Chicago location just a few minutes away from where I live. My favorite thing to do is meet up with my girlfriends over the weekend. They have the best service at the main bar. Brandon is my favorite server there. Make sure to get him because he mixes the best drinks and always makes sure we are having a good time! And I really appreciate that he makes me a bomb NA cocktail when I request it. It’s always picture worthy and makes me feel part of the group even if I'm not drinking! Thank you for always making our night! 🙏

Located in the heart of West Loop, Soho House Chicago has something vibrant to offer year round. The hotel, which is well appointed with a warm mix of euro-vibes and industrial chic, is worth a stay to enjoy all the house has to offer. There is a ton to explore from the spa, cinema room, lounge and rooftop with heated pool - just t name a few top lines. As a matter of constructive feedback, the service is excellent - once you get the attention in the first place. Something that can be improved for sure. That aside, I’m a huge fan and can’t imagine living in Chicago without this gem and all the activity and connectivity that it offers. Maybe I’ll see you there. Cheers!

Soho House Chicago truly feels like a home away from home. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and the service is top-notch. The food is delicious, and I have to give a special shout-out to Brandon behind the bar. He's the backbone of this place, crafting amazing drinks and always going above and beyond to make sure everyone feels welcome and taken care of. If you're looking for a place with great vibes, fantastic service, and a true sense of community, Soho House Chicago is the spot.

Hate to do this but it must be done. Had some drinks with friends before dinner and everyone was so unfriendly. Took forever to be acknowledged to order. Middle of the night we go to the bathroom and there’s like 4 employees standing in the way and I’m like “hi” and got zero response. Just so unfriendly or welcoming. Drinks are so expensive and I expect your ass to at least pretend to be happy to be here. My friends are visiting and it was disappointing to bring them here. To top it off, the bartender spill the drink on us and half ass cleans it. I had to ask to wipe it up again. Anyways. They suck and I won’t be back. I’m sure they don’t care but be warned. Dry service.

I had holiday tea at the SH yesterday - highly mediocre. The food did not seem fresh (crusty dry scone) and was not delicious, despite the hefty price tag ($95 if you had a glass of bubbly). Service abysmal. Would not return, vibe or no.

I experienced terrible customer service at this gym. It was member appreciation day & there was a sign on the front door saying guests of members get a complimentary pass to work out on this day. My friends were still forced to pay unnecessarily & the front desk person, Robert said that the sales and marketing people made this offer up & he had no clue about it being real. I’ve had much better experience at other LA Fitness Branches

Great place to workout if you want to feel exempt from racking your weights and otherwise leaving absolutely anything anywhere for others to take care of! I saw the cleaning staff hard at work in various areas of the gym, so I want to make it clear they are doing their jobs. Maybe some extra staff is needed to take care of the children that workout here.

This is the most poorly managed LA fitness in Chicago. I’m giving it one star because it’s the least I can rate it. I’d like to note that the janitorial staff work extremely hard to keep up with how filthy the place gets. They’re appreciated. However, this location has high traffic and the bare minimum equipment to operate as a gym. The equipment is poorly maintained. There is often not duplicate weights to complete sets and staff will tell you people steal them. Which is unfortunate but they also have no plan or take any interest in replacing equipment. All of the mats for classes are torn, ripped and look bitten. Mirrors are cracked and the “spa” (sauna/pool) is closed frequently. It’s easily the worst LA in Chicago. It’s BYOE (bring your own equipment). I provide my own mat, cable attachments and barbel cushion. For close to $800 a year this is BS.

Do not open a membership at this gym. They literally manipulate you into paying more money. I was told that if I paid $20 immediately I could get management promotion of paying $20 w a guest. I paid the money then I got there and it’s no guest connected to my account. So I had to pay another $30 , to get a new account. They informed me they would close and refund me the money from the last account. I never received the money but instead they took a $59.00 annual fee from both accounts totaling to almost $120.00. So I lost $180.00 from La fitness. I would believe this was an accident but this happened to me 2 years ago as well , which is why I stopped going to La fitness. I believe the sales reps do this to meet a specific criteria. Then if they made the mistake why would I have to pay to open another account , instead of them just fixing the account. Then when you complain a 5 number text you just to make it seem as if they care.

I have been a member here for over ten years and I have slowly seen this place go from good to awful. First it was the demise of kids club, now it’s the limited hours and overcrowding. If you are going at peak times it’s near impossible to navigate. Since the pandemic the hours never returned to normal and the classes didn’t either. If anyone is reading this it needs to be turned back to 5am opening and stay open a couple hours later, especially on the weekends. I sent a message to someone in aquatics about an issue I was having and never even received a response which lets me know how valuable I am as a member. The only reason I am giving this an extra star instead of the one it takes to write this is for the front desk staff who are just lovely people. Jen, Jojo, Jackson, Canon and anyone else who mans the front desk is in desperate need of a well deserved raise as are the cleaning staff. Everything else about this gym makes me wish harder that the equinox hotel that was supposed be built actually came to fruition and that there were better options that were walkable. Overall: seek an alternative if possible and if this is your best option try to come at off peak times. *Cutting this down to one star that I have to give to write this review because all the above mentioned people are no longer there and the HVAC isn’t working properly.

Best thing in my day! Staff is incredible, music is always on point, the cleaning staff keep the facility pristine. Ive lived in the city my whole life. Ive been to all the gyms including lifetime 1. West loop athletic wins Gold in all category's. If you're looking for a good gym community it's the place to be. Ive been a member for several years ,so my review is a solid one.

WLAC has been an important addition to my routine. My personal trainer Zac Bernat has made all the difference with my relationship with the gym, fitness and working out making it not just positive and fun but educational and informative. I've seen huge results in my body and physical skills since working with Zac. The facility itself is always clean although I do wish there was more parking as it can be tricky at times.

Wouldn’t recommend signing a membership here. The gym itself is kind of a dump, but more importantly, the 3rd party the gym uses for payment processing is extremely shady. They’ve charged me a “decline” fee on my account twice in the past 6 months for literally no reason. To be clear, the card is not declining. In fact, the bill is still processing on the first day of the month. WAC refunded this fee the first time, and stated that if it happened again, they would refund me again and resolve the issue. Welp, turns out that was a lie. The in-house billing staff is incredibly kind, and even stated that this isn’t the first time members of this gym have had issues with bills processing accurately. If that’s the case, why are you still working with them? Your 3rd party vendor messed up, and now I am responsible? LOOOOOOOOL. Whoever is the decision-maker to keep that partnership alive is MINDLESS. Get a new job buddayyyyyy. Quick math: I would have gladly stayed a member of WAC for the next 3 years minimum. That is $3100 in revenue. Instead, now that they won’t cover a $25 fee from their sack of shit payment processing vendor, I am cancelling to go elsewhere. FFC is more expensive, but hey, at least I feel like I won’t get a fungal infection walking around their locker room. Lmao! Piss off WAC.

This place has gone downhill. The hours are weird, staff unprofessional. Management needs to retrain their staff on basic customer service skills. There’s plenty of gym options in the area, do yourself a favor skip out on this place.

A chic modern gym that touts itself as a ‘body boutique’, Mode is a cool gym that offers up everything you need to have a good workout in a smaller club gym setting with nice lighting, artwork and modern aesthetic. Some of the features of this gym are a two saunas for men and women separately, a small open studio for yoga mats and calisthenics which includes a heavy bag and boxing gloves as well as small dumbbells and box jump equipment, a full rack of dumbbells with many benches, two big squat and deadlift racks, and plenty of different machines, as well as an upstairs area that features treadmills. Keep in mind this is a pretty small gym with a hefty monthly fee but does not include swimming pools, basketball courts and the amount of machines is limited and there are not many variety of cardio machines. The primary factor or selling point for me was just the cool aesthetic of this gym with good quality machines and equipment, but the price is just a bit high for what it is.

I LOVED THIS GYM. Was only in town visiting, but wish this was my every day gym. All the equipment you need. Staff was so friendly. The aesthetic is perfect. We will be back when we are in town again!

I used to be a member a few years ago and recently decided to join again. I got tired of the commercial gyms, I love that I can get in and get a great workout without having to deal with broken equipment and missing weights. Every time I go, I’m never disappointed, it’s always super clean and organized. I took my friend in on a guest pass and she loved it too. The staff was great, Sebastian was so nice, he set up her guest pass and gave her a tour. The lighting, locker rooms and the whole gym vibe is always amazing. Definitely my favorite gym!

I just joined Mode and so far I love it. The vibe and aesthetic is like none other Ive ever experienced in a gym from the decor all the way down to the unique lighting.Everything is clean and modern looking. The variety of the equipment is pretty nice and all the staff are really friendly and welcoming. Ruben was very polite and helpful with getting me started with my membership giving me the tour. Best gym in Chicago for sure!.

We paying 15 month membership to be able to play soccer and used the indoor field and the worse thing ever is that the staff always complain about us when using the tuft field. Like I’m paying for to use and the staff try everything to keep us outside the field. Even they making events in the soccer field so that our crew don’t even show up anymore. The staff always have a complain about us and never promotes us with something. So disappointed of this and always came out with something.

They have a gym, basketball amd soccer field. The gym seems to be available most of the time. The soccer and basketball field are occupied often and they have tournaments and rent them which leaves limited times for other members.

From my perspective opinion, this was the most difficult and horrible experience that I had to go through for about 2 months to enroll my 3 year old into early learning, this YMCA couldn’t figure out paperwork that was required for my 3 year old to begin early learning, FYI Gabby doesn’t help, calls were promised to be called back and I never received a call back and I had to constantly be calling back to see what was my application status, very disappointed in their service.

Disappointed with Planet Fitness: Uncomfortable Workout Environment (Little Village) * Unbearably Hot: I recently visited Planet Fitness and was disappointed to find the gym lacking air conditioning. The thermostat reading 86 degrees made the workout uncomfortable and downright unpleasant. It is going on week 2 without a proper climate. I have contacted the management and spoke with Dylan and all he keeps saying is, it is "getting fixed" but now on week 2 I'm questioning if it really is getting fixed. * Limited Equipment: Several machines were broken and unusable, which significantly limited my workout options. A broken water fountain also added to the inconvenience. Also there are no paper towels to properly clean the equipment, which is a health violation. This is the 4th time this has happened in the past year. * Overall Impression: The inoperable equipment and lack of air conditioning made my workout experience frustrating. For the price, I expect a clean, well-maintained gym with a comfortable safe environment. Edit: as of July 9 the air-conditioning is broken AGAIN! It was finally fixed after 3 weeks of 85 degree plus temperatures inside the gym. It lasted less than a week until it was broken again. Now it is leaking all over the place and they had to turn it off. This is completely unacceptable.

This place was DISGUSTING!!! I will let the photos speak for them selves. Nah, let me tell you these photos are from the woman's shower. The hair came out from the drainage in the last shower stall. The walls and floor looked nasty! There was standing water in one of the changing rooms. And the lady attendant had enough nerves to act like she was cleaning mopping with a mop that smelled like urine. Just ridiculous! The health department should look at this place. The place was unkept, I didn't even feel comfortable and left. I will be sending this review to the district manager and corporate. They just let anyone franchise a business these day. Just sad.

Decent gym however I don't like how the employees often stand around using their cell phones while the facilities need to be cleaned, paper towels refilled, etc. The water fountain is often grimey, but why? These details are what take away from a great customer experience.

This location is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! I know if they had an inspection they wouldn't pass code. The walls of the entire gym is caked with dirt. The locker room looks like it hasn't been cleaned since they opened. I was there 2 days in a row and the same showers had the same balled up hair on the floor. The lockers WERE ALL RUSTED! Some to the point that they don't even work. And there is LOTS of dried up "stains" all over the man's locker room.

This gym treats its members like garbage. I signed up thinking they were a decent place, but after switching management, they decided to change the rules on cancellation without warning. The terms I agreed to? Gone. They even took down the page with the original policies from their website, like they’re trying to pretend it never existed. We're here on travel nursing contracts and this gym is going to force us to pay for a membership we literally cannot use anymore because we've moved. When I tried to get answers, I got nowhere. They just stick to their new terms and act like we’re supposed to go along with it. It’s so shady and disrespectful. If you’re considering this gym, save yourself the frustration. There are plenty of places that don’t pull this kind of bait-and-switch nonsense. Avoid this gym at all costs.

This would be a great location for a gym. It’s been over 3 weeks now and the one of the two leg extension machines still have the out of order tag. Yesterday they both were out of order. That’s ridiculous to not maintain equipment properly for the members especially popular machines that get the most use. They charge members for a yearly maintenance fee but don’t care about maintaining equipment properly.

I understand a couple of days without hot water but going two weeks in the dead of winter is tough. That and the amount of machines that get broken and take weeks to fix brings this review down to three stars. Otherwise this place is very clean, weights are put away, staff is friendly and there's lots of variety in equipment.

It's been two weeks without hot water for customers to be able to take any showers that is very upsetting that I pay full price for a service that can't be fix!! also, the middle stall the shower head pops out all the time last time it almost hit me!

I’ve been to several gyms, and this is by far one of the cleanest gyms. It’s spacious, has good equipment like free squat racks, some pull-up bars, and also a fairly large stretching area, plus many other machines of all kinds to work out every part of the body. It’s also very well-organized, and the staff is very friendly and professional. Highly recommended.

Great community resource. Truly a hidden gem of Pilsen. Great programming. Very much geared towards social reform from a groundl-evel approach. Classes focused on artistic expression are offered regularly. Sunday Sessions is a wonderful community gathering that doesn't focus an one single spiritual path, but just accessing the one best for you. Every Sunday at 11:15am

An amazing space carrying on a tradition of love thy neighbor.

This place is supposed to be helpful to the community, however on the doors it's plastered "TrapHouse Chicago". There are consistently black people hanging out side, 15 to 40 deep. This is not conducive with the neighborhood. I live directly across and they are loud, and throw trash on the street.

Very uplifting experience of an interfaith gathering. Pros: Faith that is musically expressed and inclusive socialization encouraged. Service targeted towards social justice youths. Cons: Limited seating, come early but service is being live streamed downstairs. Need to be creative with parking. Service lasts 2hrs+, gotta be in the mood for extended worship 💜 #ConstructiveFeedback #PurposefulGatherings #DivineFriendship | 777adventures

Amazing space with great morals, ethics and beliefs. They have great programs for people of color, children and everyone really. They have dance classes also if that's something you're into.

Nice equipment variety and clean. Friendly staff. They take care of everything so you come to a tidy gym. No old machines, nice bathrooms, also on holidays they do some appreciation details for the members. Super recommended!

Best gym in Pilsen!! Latina owned business and staff is exception! They always keep everything SOO clean and equipment is always up to date. Highly recommend!

I love this gym so much. The owner is constantly adding new equipment and updating things like ropes, handles etc. they have a gym shark machine for squats which you rarely see. It's never too crowded but always has a good crowd of local ppl trying to hit fitness goals. Fav. Gym in Chicago!!!

This is probably the cleanest gym I’ve ever been to. All machines and mats are regularly wiped down by Maria (staff at the gym) and members do a great job of wiping things down too. As a woman I’ve always felt completely comfortable and respected by other members. And it doesn’t get packed to the brim with people, even during busy periods like after work. Love this gym and love to see Lety around, always. Def recommend.

Went here for the first time with my friend just to try it out…. LOVE IT. Obsessed would be an understatement. Day pass was $20 and the owner Lety was super sweet and helpful. Super clean and open spaced and organized. Definitely will be coming here more often!

Really solid gymnastics center at a City Park. They have a huge space with lots of equipment and mats, the coaches are great with kids, and it seems like a safe environment to learn. The overall facilities are ok, considering it’s a public park facility and not a private health club. Also can’t beat the prices for gymnastics sessions.
