Love it. I've tried hot yoga at other places including other chains and this is THE spot. It's super clean, the staff are so friendly, inviting and warm people and the facilities are great. My favorite class is Yin especially with Derek. He really brings the mind and body connection to a focus in your practice and brings such positivity. The community here is great, nothing feels too instragrammy,. It genuinely feels like a safe and accepting place. Highly recommend.

I love this studio! All of the staff is caring and kind, while the instructors push you to be the best version of yourself. I particularly love Ilan's classes, as they are high energy, fun, and hard. You will walk out drenched in sweat, but with a smile on your face. Also, the Yin classes are great after a tough workout or different class.

I absolutely love this hot yoga studio! The teachers are fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and supportive. The positive energy in the room is contagious, and I always leave feeling rejuvenated. The studio’s ambiance is calming, and the heated environment helps me deepen my practice. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced yogi, this place is welcoming and inclusive. Highly recommend! 🙌🔥

Love this yoga studio. The facilities are immaculate and the instructors are so kind. I’ve really enjoy practicing here. Edit September 2024 - I have to lower my review bc they got rid of all the power 1 clases during the week which doesn’t feel very trauma informed. They said they did it to make the classes more accessible but it really feels like the opposite. The yin classes are great tho but not everyone wants or needs to do the most when they practice yoga.

I’ve tried multiple hot yoga spots mainly for 26&2. What I love about hot 8 yoga and what made it the spot I come to is their variety of classes, they offer so many different classes and different variations, so it never gets boring! They have so many different locations and allow you to visit them with the same membership so it creates more flexibility if you have a busy work schedule! No excuses! I definitely recommend signing up or at least trying their welcome week!

Good gym - clean, nice equipment, and good environment. But they ALWAYS change their operating hours seemingly at a whim. Here on Sunday at 2:20 PM during summer hours and they're closed. Just last week, they were open at their advertised times. Tried asking the staff at Lyon Center Gym (the one a block's walk away) and they just shrugged. 🤣

Such a great facility to workout at, when it isn't teaming with people. If you get there early or just before it closes, it's possible to get a great workout in undisturbed. Otherwise, expect a wait. Despite being smaller than the gym at Lyon Center and open for shorter hours, I'd argue that the Village Fitness Center is a much more welcoming bet.

They really have to do something about their opening hours. It’s so confusing. It’s still a school week and I’m here at 11 AM and it’s suddenly open from 1 PM… This just keeps happening over and over again.

Everything is clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful. Equipment is of good quality and in good repair. Plenty of dumbbells all the way up to 115lbs+, with duplicates of most weights. Benches in the free weight area can have a wait time, but it is usually not too long. I do not recommend going in the hour before closing because it is hectic and hard to secure equipment to get on.

As an up and coming power lifter currently working towards a 3 plate bench and 5 plate squat and deadlift, I have been to a multitude of gyms across the world. Among all the gym staff I have encountered, Mr. Luke Langlois is the best staff member I have interacted with. Upon first impression, Mr. Langlois was dressed extremely professionally and greeted me with a warm, friendly smile. He swiftly but gracefully moved his tablet from one end to the other to scan my phone and made sure to carefully examine my Trojan check. He understands that gym member and staff safety is crucial and should be taken seriously, especially during this pandemic period. As such, he makes sure to carefully check his device to make sure there is in discrepancies between the Trojan check and the presenter. With such an focused outlook on his role as a gym staff, I truly believe that Mr. Langlois deserves a raise.

The location is convenient inside the USC Village market/mall The parking is downstairs in the parking garage , lots of covered stalls available. Don't forget to get your parking validated. I believe this studio give a 90 minute validation (most classes are 60 minutes) The yoga studio looks like it's been here for awhile. It's taken care of but I wouldn't rank it in the nicest of the core power yoga studios that I've visited ( across the country). Although it wasn't my top pick for CPY studios, it seems to be popular/busy and the teacher was friendly If I was a student or lived nearby, I would find it helpful to be so close and also love that it's next to Trader Joe's! :) And Lululemon.

Really inexperienced college student instructors. They make older people feel uncomfortable/like we don’t belong. Agreed that this is not a supportive environment for people of color or anyone over 25. Music is really out of line for the sculpt classes. Other CPY locations are better. This one is very odd. I agree that Bella C.’s class has inappropriate music as I was in the class last week. How does a company that touts “diversity” have so much salacious and derogatory music in their classes? Just because it’s a college campus doesn’t mean management should shirk their duties. Seedy…

Left this place because Maya and Bella are horrible, immature, inexperienced instructors and Joel is a bad manager. A lot of people clearly don’t like them either. Yelp reviews for this place are horrible. It also smells very musty inside all the time and a few girls got Covid from this place. Go to equinox instead.

Honestly I used to work out at Golds in downtown and La fitness. The reason why I switched is because both of those gyms were becoming increasingly more and more packed with little to no room to Lift. Weight times for machines were out of control. Planet fitness at this location is never that busy even at peak times. Working out here gets the job done and there is room for everyone.

Theres only been one fully working rowing machine out if about six for over a year. The rest all have broken foot holders or pull bars, I've notified the staff multiple times. Very frustrating as its the only machine i use there. Please get it fixed. Edit: can you give me a real response please? Not the "we're so concerned about your satisfaction" response you gave while providing no solution. Will you them fixed or not?

Have been coming here for a while now and for the past few weeks, I had noticed that some of the machines had a missing pin to hold the weights. As of today. 90% of the machines there are useless since the pins are all gone and if there are loose ones. People take them to the machine that they want to use. To make it worse. Staff had put PENS into the weights where the pin is supposed to be. I will most likely canceling my membership here. Here are 3 pictures I took on different machines to show how they "fixed" the issue

Just tried this location for the first time. The machines are newer than at other locations, TVs, Bluetooth, pairing to Apple Watch, generally less creaking and need for WD-40. It’s a Saturday and it wasn’t super crowded. Didn’t have to wait on any equipment. What could it work on? There isn’t much order to their strength machines. The other locations have better flow as far as areas to concentrate on certain muscles. The employees are either super shy or hate all of us. This is the only spot where you’re not greeted with sparkles, but how long am I really gonna hang with them up front? Two hours free parking. Don’t forget to validate in the little box on the right side of the counter … cos they won’t do it for you. 🤣

(Update) Visited again after a week and was pleased to see that all the machines now have the pins! Thank you for the quick action—this is definitely a 5-star gym! I look forward to continuing my workouts here!! ____________________ I've been here for a month and appreciate the clean facilities and friendly staff. Recently, though, most machines have been missing pins, creating a cycle where members take pins for themselves, leaving others without!! Staff mentioned new pins are coming this week, so I’ll update my review soon.

Its a $15 membership so its good for the price. My small complaints are that paper towels for cleaning run out fast during peak hours and machines are limited so you’ll probably be waiting for the ones you want when they’re busy. Otherwise it’s pretty good. Free parking for 2 hours and all that

Been a member over a year and loved coming here. Now, none of the machines work because someone stole the pins. Perhaps leaving this review will help in making the necessary fixing. And please, you contact the manager directly and not your clients.

I was looking for a nice gym to stop into on my work trip to Culver City and I’m so so happy I did. Really pleased with the entire experience of GymTonic. Machines are brand new and are relevant machines that are sought after such as Hip Thrust, Hack Squats, etc. It was so clean and full of amenities - including a sauna, towel warmer, the best filtered water dispenser, meditation room. The locker rooms were equipped with toiletries and various feminine products. Overall I was impressed at the variety of equipment and amenities there - and it wasn’t too busy and overwhelming when I went. I would definitely recommend this gym. Lastly the customer service was amazing. Grace at the front desk welcomed me with such warmth and kindness. Really appreciated that energy walking into a new gym. Thank you Grace ♥️

This is hands down the best gym in the LA area! Good vibes and energy from the staff and other gym members. I never had to wait in line for a machine and the gym itself was always very clean. Mark was amazing, he helped sign me up initially and answered any questions I had. When I was in a stressful situation with relocating for a my job suddenly, Dakota made the cancelation process easy. I am so sad I had to cancel my membership here but if I’m ever back in the area I will 1,000% be returning! This truly is the most genuine gym community, which is difficult to find in the LA area. I mostly strength train and they had all the necessary equipment to get the job done. I was able to take the restorative yoga class with Claire and that was the most relaxed I have been in a long time, highly recommend! I could go on forever about how amazing this gym and the staff is. Even though I was only a member for a short period of time, it was a great experience all around. Thank you gym tonic!

So far it’s been great, been going here a month. The gym is boutique, not a national Gym like equinox, but is never over-crowded and often you can do exactly what you came in to do. You still get all the attention and people knew my name within a week, very cool. I like the couple classes and love how clean everything is and that all the weights are always put away. If I have a gripe, it’s that I wish the gym app could better integrate with my trainer but even big name gyms like lifetime and equinox didn’t have that but it’s the only “con” I could think of! Very happy to be here.

As a new member of Gym Tonic, I’m not entirely satisfied. One of the main reasons I joined was the outdoor turf, but it’s not accessible during all business hours as I was initially told. The turf is connected to the gym through two large garage doors, which must remain closed if the weather is deemed "too hot" or "too cold" to maintain indoor temperatures. Members can only use the turf when the doors are open, making access entirely dependent on the outdoor temperature. Even if a member agrees to keep the doors closed while using the turf, staff are not allowed to grant access. I’ve encountered this issue during early morning workouts when it’s cooler, and despite offering to keep the doors shut, I was still denied access. There’s also a gate surrounding the turf with an opening that could serve as another entry/exit point; but access to the outdoor turf is not permitted if the main entrance doors are close. I'm not too sure the purpose of this policy. These restrictions feel excessive, especially compared to other gyms with outdoor turfs. Most allow full access regardless of the outdoor temperature, and Gym Tonic doesn’t clearly define what the temperature cut off for "too hot" or "too cold." For example, at Equinox, I’ve been able to use the outdoor turf when it was 50°F outside. Beyond this, Gym Tonic feels small compared to other gyms in its price range. The outdoor turf could make it feel more spacious, but with limited access, the gym feels even smaller. On the positive side, the gym is exceptionally clean, thanks to the hardworking cleaning staff, who truly are the heart of the facility. Honestly, they are the hardest working cleaning crew that I have ever encountered. If the cleaning crew reads this review, "Thank you for all you do!" Additionally, the manager offered to cancel my membership, which shows good customer service. However, the next closest gym with an outdoor turf adds too much time to my morning commute, so I’ve decided to keep my membership for now. In summary, the restrictions on the outdoor turf significantly diminish the experience, especially for members like me who value this feature. I'm willing to update my review if this policy ever changes.

Can't recommend enough and look forward to seeing them soar.

So it's been a few months since my last post, and I haven't noticed any improvement. Here is a couple more pictures of the etiquette at this location. Arrived at 5am when they had just opened and found an empty red bull from the night before. Weights strewn all over the floor and a guy had his stuff in the way. Honestly wake up staff. Original Post: Management is in need of an extreme wake-up. 1. The staff is useless. They do a decent job of folding towels and greeting you from behind the counter. That is all. At any given time, there are 2-3 people standing around with no real purpose. My suggestion, get them to reorganize the weights at the end of the night. If they show they care, maybe the customers will too. At the very least, they will be earning their paycheck. 2. Cleanliness is lacking. I've been here about 6 times in the last couple of weeks, normally before 2 pm, and I've only seen the cleaning staff one time, same Hispanic lady. She was cleaning the windows one of the times. The sanitizing sprays usually barely have any in them, and I've shown up at 5 in the morning when they open. 3. It is very overcrowded. That's obviously a good thing. Use the staff to enforce some sort sort of order. I've seen a diverse number of clients with no gym etiquette whatsoever, who better to learn this from than the staff. I seriously doubt you will lose clientele to suffer a loss. Let me not only post all the bad but the few good. The towel availability is a great thing. 3 hour free parking is very good. That is about it. Recommend for the manager to take a trip to Santa Anita mall Golds Gym and see where to set the bar. Will update in a month or two in hopes that I see more pros or possibly a change in the way business is run.

This is my first ever gym membership. Glad I made the decision to try it out. I’m still new to the gym, but so far it has been a good experience. It’s a decently sized gym, but still has good equipment. The PT I was assigned to has done a wonderful job at making me feel welcomed and has taught me new techniques to improve my workouts. I hope it continues to be a good experience for me every time I go. It is packed full of guys most of the time, but if you mind your business and blast your music in your ears, you should be okay! 😁👌🏼

EDIT from 1 star to 4 stars: After leaving this review, management at Gold's has called me to resolve the below experience. They confirmed that the deals should not have been sold as a package. I've been refunded the training days and been assured that this type of behavior isn't in line with the values of the gym and will be addressed with the team. It's very good to know that the team at Gold's takes this type of behavior seriously. I'll be staying at Gold's due to their professional response. ORIGINAL: My experience at this Gym has been alright, but the salesmen did swindle me out of extra money when selling the membership. I was offered a "special deal" where I could get my first and last month off, as well as a permanent $5 off monthly, if I bought 5 trainer days. I learned that deal is on the website without the need to purchase any trainer days. I'm severely disappointed with the management of this branch. To be clear, I would not have bought the trainer days if I did not believe I was saving money on my membership. My personal trainer has been perfect. He's taught me many things I need to know about different muscle groups and how to hit them all properly, as well as the diet required for my goals. I simply wish I had more time with him for the amount that I spent on the meetings, now that i know they weren't really part of any deal. I won't be supporting a Gym that takes advantage of it's customers, and after I've used up my training days I will be switching to a different gym. They don't deserve any loyalty after conducting deals in that fashion. Otherwise, my experience at this gym has been relatively average. Like most gyms in LA, it's pretty understaffed, the weight rack is disorganized, but you can go and get a workout done easily. I do enjoy the class selection that they have.

Super glad I found this place. I’m just getting into yoga (only done it a handful of times before) and I’m a little taken aback by how welcoming the teachers are…. Welcoming like I’ve never experienced before. My first class was here was C2 with Amy, I made a mistake and showed up at the wrong place for my next visit and Sydney was incredibly patient and kind in helping me figure out the schedule/class types, and I just finished a HPF class with Ken. The actual yoga class is amazing but there’s a whole separate appreciation for the culture of this place. This is what I needed in my life and I’m really glad I found it!

Was looking for a relaxing no heat class, it feels like everyone ONLY does heated Yoga now and forgot about non hot yoga…sometimes your body just craves a less intense yoga experience 🤷🏻♀️ and she most certainly delivered! The playlist she had was also great, just what I needed for my day of self care and renewal. Thank you!

I know how important reviews good or bad can be for any business being that I work in the fitness industry's upper management level. I have been to this studio twice and each time the experience has been great. My first visit to the studio instructor gave me a quick tour of the studio and informed me what I needed. I come from studios that have all the thrills like huge lounges, locker rooms, modern features etc. But I enjoyed how this studio was to the point and focus on the class. I was not expecting it to be a heated class but I was able to complete the 45 min. Today I did a C1 class with Ken J, I thought it would have been too much of a challenge but I was very wrong. Great instructor, funny and helpful with correcting the form as needed. Defiently will try his classes again and C2.

I booked a 4pm class on 6/27/2024 at 4pm, and waited at the studio from 3:40pm-4:15pm but no staff was around. The teacher no-showed and the studio was locked. This left me and 6 other students who had booked the class stranded. Worst of all, it wasted all of our time. We called CorePower for assistance and they did not try to follow-up or make this right at all.

This yoga studio has been such a peaceful retreat for me. It’s the perfect little escape from school life :) The instructors are so kind and welcoming. I had the chance to take Bennett’s classes during the holiday season, and she’s amazing! I always leave her class feeling calm, peaceful, and incredibly grateful to have found her at this studio. She truly cares about everything happening in class and in the studio. She creates a warm and safe space for everyone by paying close attention to each student and offering thoughtful, hands-on adjustments filled with care and love. She even helped me overcome my fear of inversions. Her creativity turns movements into fun activities, making the class feel lighthearted yet grounding. Her cues are always clear and spot-on, and everything she says resonates because she’s so genuine and heartfelt. I highly recommend this studio to anyone who wants to practice yoga regularly. It’s such a wonderful place to grow your practice and find peace 😊

Hey there, Just wanted to share my experience from the 5 P.M. yoga sculpt class with Anabel. I’ve done a ton of yoga sculpt and yoga 2 classes in Corr Power, but honestly, this one didn’t feel like yoga or sculpt at all. First off, the room was so packed that it was uncomfortable and didn’t have that vibe I’d expect for what we’re paying and is felt always. Plus, the music was super loud techno, and Anabel was basically shouting into the mic to be heard, but it was so muffled no one could understand her. Everyone was just guessing and copying each other, which feels risky for injuries. Honestly, calling it “yoga sculpt” feels off – the only yoga part was a random downward dog here and there, and ending with “Namaste.” As someone who loves both yoga and sculpt, it’s disappointing not to have a class that actually blends the two. You have other people that do this that are great. I actually had to leave early, which I never do. Just hoping you’ll consider these points to keep up the quality of the experience. Thanks!

WOW! I took a C2 class with Maddy R. & it was an amazing experience. She guided us through the flows so clearly, which really helped me as a beginner. I want there on a guest pass, just to see if I like it. I did not. Club hours supposed to be till 7pm today. I was in the sauna at 6.30 pm when cleaning lady very rude opened the door and told area is closed. So they must start cleaning it at 7pm, instead they interrupted relaxation and this is terrible. All this noise and I was not able to use steam room. Horrible experience and it’s just not I want for myself. Cleaning must start after the place closed not before. So I would never will be a client because behind all clients services this place is trash.

Been at this club since May of 2023. I signed up with executive membership and love it. It’s the most complete club in all of Los Angeles. Not perfect, but it’s close. They have basketball courts, racquet ball, pickle ball, swimming pools, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, a parking structure, cafe, lounge area, work area, a rooftop exercise spot, and much more. You should at least come try it out.

I’ve been a member here since January, and I genuinely love this gym. At first the price tag was kind of painful but now, I spend so much time there it’s worth it. From the new coffee shop and always open tables to work from, the sauna and showers, classes, weight areas, it’s easy to spend 2 hours here a day. I also feel like most people, from the members to instructors to front staff, are super friendly. I genuinely enjoy this gym, and am really glad I joined!

Amazing sport club in LA. I’ve been only to this Equinox and I loved it. I’ve tried some other gyms and this one is my favorite. High quality service, clean spaces, interesting classes and a huge variety of choice! The monthly subscription is very expensive though, but if you can afford it, I think it’s worth it!

I’ve been a member for many years, and in the early days, it was undoubtedly a 5-star facility. The service was top-notch, the place was always spotless and well-organized, and they had the best, most up-to-date equipment. If anything broke down, it was fixed immediately. In the five years leading up to COVID, it slipped to a 4-star experience. Cost-cutting measures became evident — the quality of the equipment declined, cleanliness standards started to drop, and overall service was not what it used to be. Since COVID, it feels like the gym has settled into being a 3-star facility. Cleanliness in the locker rooms, spa, and showers has noticeably deteriorated. Broken equipment or amenities now take weeks to repair, and that’s only after multiple complaints. To be fair, they have upgraded several machines, which is a plus. But there’s a palpable shift in employee attitude — it often feels like they just don’t care. I’ve reported issues in the spa area to several staff members, only to be met with indifference or excuses, as if they’re all just passing the buck. Another major issue with cleanliness is that, to be fair, it’s not entirely the club’s fault. A lot of it comes down to inconsiderate members who leave towels behind in the showers, discard Band-Aids, or leave shaving razors lying around. However, the club bears responsibility for failing to address it. Despite my repeated requests, they’ve refused to confront the issue head-on by making explicit announcements, sending member-wide emails, or posting clear notices around the shower area. A simple, direct message reminding members to clean up after themselves could go a long way, but the club seems unwilling to take that step. If it weren’t for the hottest steam room in town, I would give them a 2 1/2 star.

Perfect value for the price. Family membership for 100$! We signed up because of the swimming lessons for the child, but I also tried swimming - and everything was clean, the pool wasn’t crowded and sauna/steam/jacuzzi were a great bonus too! I like the option of reserving the line. I am not going to be using the gym - it seems a little too crowded and not well equipped for me. But i tried yoga and I will be doing it from time to time.

So me and my son went to the YMCA for first time and I let him swim for one hour but before that I thought that they have dryers and every boys girls women’s and men’s room locker room and there was no thdryers in boys and girls room so my son had to get out of YMCA with wet hair and I’m worried about him to don’t get sick. by the way, when I ask the staff who they were there for help help me they were not they don’t have any good manners and they were rude and they didn’t help me anymore even they dident care. i’m so sorry for this situation. I thought the YMCA it’s the place for the family care and member care and I didn’t know that’s much careless.

Not worth 105$, because classes and swimming pool always full and they will hold your right to reserve spot for classes if you don’t check in with the coat h even though nobody tell you to do that. To cancel your membership you have to email and that takes 30 days to get processed. Insane!!!! Get cheaper gyms with way more benefits. The staff always not helpful and can’t fix anything!!!! Otherwise the facility clean and nice.

This place is always packed no matter what time you go there. The equipment is limited and it's constantly in use so you end up waiting and practically begging for a turn. The most ridiculous part is that there is only one portable fan for all the rooms and whenever you go to the cardio room for example it's not there so you're left struggling to breathe with everyone sweating! They say we have to move it back and forth, sorry! By the way they charge you for the parking daily! And almost impossible to find a spot in the area! On top of that, people are constantly dropping weights and not a single employee says anything when they see that. It's just so annoying and distracting. Not recommended at aaaaalllll!

When the Westside Family YMCA closed down, I became a member of David Barton Gym and then Equinox. Now I am definitely glad to be going to the Collins and Katz YMCA for lots of reasons. The first is it is near me to drive and not too far of a walk as well. I want to mention some people, Kalena is very nice and helpful and patient. Joseph is also very nice and helpful and I enjoy talking to both of them. As for working out I used to not have a routine and so I didn't enjoy going to the gym. A major change happened when I took personal training sessions with Carl. I learned a lot from our sessions, because Carl is a fantastic trainer with lots of knowledge and expertise. Thanks to our sessions, I am going consistently to the gym and I am loving working out and am motivated to see the progress I can make and see great results. So these are my thoughts, thank you and have a great day!
