This gym has everything you need for a great workout! The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the cleaning team keeps the space spotless. There's plenty of equipment and room to get a full-body workout without feeling crowded. I especially love the powerlifting room when I want to lift heavy, the studio space for stretching, foam rolling, or hitting the heavy bag, and the TRX setup for functional training. The gym also has weighted bags and a sled—perfect for building strength and endurance. It’s a great neighborhood gym with an awesome vibe, whether you're lifting, stretching, or getting in some conditioning work. Highly recommend!

I really like this gym. It's like a second home. The staff is great. Kay is my fav! She's always got a big smile on her face and a great greeting! The gym isn't overly saturated with people, and the equipment is clean and works well.

Great no frills gym. They have every piece of equipment you can ever ask for. I've never had issues with it being overcrowded and needing to wait a long time for equipment. Clean showers/bathrooms. Plenty of free parking in their underground garage. Not a fancy place but that's what I like.

Fantastic Gym with a very welcoming community! The facility is clean, the equipment is top-notch and the staff is great! Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a gym in the Los Angeles Area.

Best gym in LA. Sufficient equipment, great locker room, good cardio machines. The staff is top notch and super friendly and helpful. Power lifting room for deadlifts etc, tons of free weights, kettlebells and medicine balls. Great layout and it rarely feels crowded. Little more expensive than the other chain gyms but that means less riff raff and more serious lifters. If you want to get dense and bulbous and jacked, this is the place for you. Awesome gym.

I tried to join equinox not just for my personal use but also explored whether to bring my corporate company team to equinox but the system is chaotic and as a result utterly unreliable in terms of making any training or spa appointments or even trying to pay for these sessions - I can’t bring my business account here as the service is poor and on 2 attempts to book simple private training and physio sessions all appointments got lost or dropped from their system so I turn up both times and both times there is nothing on the system recorded - there is double bookings and the system on both occasions dropped my account off their system - I have wasted so much of my time -equinox is definately not worth wasting time with - looks glossy and fantastic but the critical service required to support that is lacking to a shocking degree. My experience was frustrating and wasted money and time and my advise is Do not join this gym. In LA there are plenty of better gyms with higher basic level of service support.

Hello, I had a contract for one year, there was an automatic payment, the contract ended 2 months ago, a letter came about the end of the contract, I have been going to another gym for 2 months now, and yesterday I discovered that they are still writing off my monthly payment in the amount of 287 dollars, I write letters to the general manager, the concierge, there is no answer from either of them for 5 days, I call the concierge, they say that the contract goes into leasing after a year, and your membership is still active!!! Why does no one talk about this at the time of signing? Why does not any confirmation of this come? Do I want to renew the contract or not??? I did not expect this from a company like you ... this is more like a scheme to profit from other people's money!!!! No recalculation and does not want to return my money, although there was no activity during this period! I am obliged to know about all this myself, I am obliged to call you myself, so that it turns out to be canceled my membership! Scam! Because of people like you, I never want to set up automatic payments, so as not to fall for such tricks to give away money!

In regard to equipment and overall quality, I was fairly happy with the gym outside of limited business hours and so many members that the equipment was never available (especially if you work a 9-5 and go in before 8a or after 5p). DO NOT trust or sign up with Jan, he is highly unprofessional and will ghost you the moment your credit card hits auto bill. He dodged my emails for 2 weeks when I tried to cancel, I had to eventually call in and find someone else who would allow me to cancel without the obvious gimmicks. If you have the budget for a luxury gym don’t waste your money here.

Today marks the sixth day this month that I have had to leave the gym several seconds after walking in because there are no machines available whatsoever. I understand that there are rush hours for every gym however, it has gotten simply out of hand at the Equinox gyms in Los Angeles especially the one in Hollywood. Multiple trainers are taking on clients during rush hour and holding multiple machines at the time per client. This practice doesn’t make any sense and it shouldn’t be allowed. Today I was making my way towards the only open machine and I was cut off by a trainer who was literally running to get there before I could. I have also gone up to seemingly empty machines only to have a trainer tell me it was one of several bring reserved for their client’s workout. The trainer proceeded to leave said machine unoccupied for 20 minutes — longer than I would have needed it. I joined equinox for the promised amenities — one of which was limited capacity. This clearly is a promise that they have failed to uphold. They care more about commissions for new contracts than the fact that this gym is overrun. Not only are you wasting my money; you’re wasting my time.

Sorry but I have to agree with the other user. The gym is just too full and all the machines are often occupied. This could easily be solved by leaving the gym open 24/7 because then people could come outside of the rush hour. The gym itself is clean and offers a lot of training rooms. Nice.

I’m very happy with the group class at Barry’s. The instructor was great and created a good energy in the room! I also felt much more motivated by working out with others! The service there is absolutely fantastic, the staff is so sweet!! I will definitely go back there to work out! Additionally, they sell protein shakes/smoothies that were so good after the workout!🧡

This was so much fun! I was surprised by how exhausting it was, but it was still enjoyable to do it together with others in a group that pushed each other! The atmosphere at Barry's, from when we entered the reception to completing the workout and finishing with a good smoothie, felt like a family vibe—big smiles, lots of laughter, and high fives all around. A great first impression, and I definitely want to participate more times! Very fresh and clean venue! :)

Thoroughly enjoyed Nicks class, I got my ass kicked but in a way that made sense and it doesn't always make sense. There was a good slow warmup, there was active stretching, there was intensity, there was energy. He was watching and guiding, there was actual coaching and correcting and encouragement. Id definitely take his class again. Great coach

So the good news is this gym is affordable, parking is easy peezy, and the hours are pretty good. The bad news is it’s always crowded and isn’t always in the best shape. The personal trainers are great. That’s the best part of this place. Alejandra is who I see and I’d recommend her to anyone at any level. She will match you where you are at and adjust as you go. Empathetic, kind, knowledgeable, will make you reach your goals. Zero pretense. If the gym makes you uncomfortable at all, she will make you feel at home. Here is where I am taking off stars though. Recently, the gym installed a huge blue and white neon light in the personal training space. I can’t stand this thing. It literally hurts my eyes and makes everyone look like they’re in a morgue or something. Like, have you wanted to look even more ugly when you’re working out, cause this thing will make that a reality. I’ve asked if it’s dimmable at all and everyone is disappointed when they tell me that it isn’t. Please, Fitness 19, I’m going to need you to find a way to travel back to 1985 and give this thing back to the club you stole it from. 😵💫

One of the best gyms on the planet! Great community, clean, and has all the equipment you need. Never a wait for equipment even during peak times. People here come to train. Awesome gym I found in that area, best combo of being both never too full and not overpriced and always has free parking. Has awesome roof where you can exercise in the sun, hit the punching bag, or do yoga with a class. Downstairs always has windows open all year so the entire gym is well ventilated and breezy. Equipment is older and it feels like you’re stepping into a historical gym. There are pictures of famous actors that worked out there. On another floor below there is a locker room and sauna where there is free hair gel, lotion, etc. Lastly, most of the people who go there are really fit so it’s quite motivational and gets you to work harder.

When I flew into LA on the way to Hawaii I was looking for a gym I could drop into that would have easy access to barbells and other strength & conditioning equipment. Photos of this space don’t show a lot so I figure I’ll note that they have a wide variety of machines, and a handful of barbells and associated racks. They also have a surprising amount of machines like stair masters and two free running treadmills (as well as the standard cardio machines). I did not see nor look for rowers or ski ergs, though if my training session needed them I’d focus on the CrossFit or similar facilities. For those interested, they have a handful of kettlebells with the single heaviest being an ~80. Of the various gyms close to where I was staying south of Hollywood, Easton looked to be the easiest to access, probably because it’s a standard gym rather than a more specialized fitness facility (like CrossFit, HIIT, or the variety of personal training spaces nearby). They are on the 2nd floor under the metal sign. A drop-in day pass cost $25. They currently seem to prioritize mask-wearing which is nice. Note that if you plan to change or shower or carry around more than just a small bag you’ll probably want to carry a lock too.

Barry’s literally includes everything you need to feel ready for a good sweat: hair ties and Bobby pins, gum, and towels. Plus, the locker room/shower area was clean and had great personal care products and towels for a refreshing after-class experience. Lily’s run x lift class was awesome! Challenging, but totally manageable because things were constantly changing and she gave great cues and countdowns.

Emile was energized, upbeat with positive energy and truly passionate about what he does. I enjoyed the playlist so much! It took me on a journey and kept me motivated throughout the class. I have a lot of chronic pain that makes high intensity workouts difficult at times but Emile encouraged everyone to meet their body where it's at and I really appreciated that. I felt supported and also invigorated. Class had a nice pace and was well balanced. I can't wait to see Emile back on the schedule!

Scott was super friendly, high energy, and supportive! He gave me a quick tour of the space and how the class would work. He told me which items we would be using during the class and he throughly explained the three levels you could use on the treadmill. He remembered my name and would comment on my form throughout the duration of the class which made me feel supported in my first class. At the end he asked if I had any questions and what I thought of it. It was an intense class, pushing my limits a bit but I would come back. Scott was a one of the best instructors I’ve had in LA.

The Griffin Club Los Angeles is a great spot for those seeking a mix of fitness, socializing, and relaxation. The facilities, including the tennis and pickleball courts, are well-maintained, and the fitness center is modern and fully equipped. The pools are a highlight, offering a perfect escape on sunny days. The dining options are solid, though the menu could use a bit more variety. The ambiance is upscale yet welcoming, making it a pleasant space for members to connect. However, the membership fees are on the higher side, and at times, the club can feel a bit crowded during peak hours. Overall, it’s a wonderful club with plenty to offer, but there’s room for small improvements to make it truly exceptional.

I initially got a membership for tennis and they lied to me about having quiet spaces and tennis program for older teens. I went to the club to get work done and all I could hear were children shouting and screaming. When trying out their “older tennis teen class” (supposedly with 17,18 yr olds) it was actually filled will 11 year olds…and was told that the only other tennis class option was a live-ball session with older men…The initial fee was 2,000 before even paying for the membership…def not worth it unless you only go in the morning or are a mom with kids that need to be entertained…It feel like your at a children's play park more than half the time and the food is mid for the amount you pay for a membership.

This is my favorite gym of all time. I’ve done 24, Gold’s, and LA Fitness over the years and it’s not even close. I signed up in 2015 when it was David Barton then came back in 2024 - wish I did it sooner! IconFit’s staff not only sets a golden standard for gyms, but also with customer service for business. They are super knowledgeable and make me feel at home. The gym is always clean, has towel service plus refreshing eucalyptus ones, and there is plenty of equipment with usually short maintenance time. Tips to note: - Bringing your own lock will save you time and hassle over borrowing from the front desk ($6 Master Lock Black Combination Padlock for Luggage on Amazon) - 2 hour parking validation on weeknights, 3 if you ask nicely (don’t be shy) - Shower before using the cold plunge (self explanatory…) If you are serious about health and SAVING TIME then this is the place for you.

IconFit was the second gym I joined in Los Angeles and it was about everything you could ask for in a gym. Equipment was always available even while busy and the additional amenities (filtered water machines, sauna, etc.) were great. The best part about the place, though, was the people. It was a joy to be able to come in and talk with friends I've made for a brief moment before heading to work out. Some days I enjoyed coming to the gym just to be able to talk to the gym folks. I'd recommend IconFit to anyone who wants to have a luxurious gym experience in a friendly, personable environment. Thanks for everything!

I've been a member of IconFit for around 2.5 years. There's a lot to like about it from a personal standpoint: 2 minutes drive or 15-20 minutes walk from my house, easy parking, pleasant aesthetically, and recently some top notch new cardio machines have been installed. It's clean and very convenient and I like how most members are all business about workouts and not standing around socializing as much like at other gyms, such as Equinox. But, and I've addressed this directly with the management without any luck, the volume of the music has increased significantly in the last few weeks. I don't mind a gym playing music but it should be in the background, not overwhelming all the acoustics in the place. There are close to 20 speakers circling the gym floor and at any one time, most members work out a short distance from a speaker. For people to hear the music the gym wants to play (not my kind of music either but I can live with it), it is not necessary to keep it at the current default volume, which is the same level whether I go at 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m., or past 4 p.m. I have tried to see if there is a difference depending on what time I go (there is none). It is simply too loud and it's not a matter of opinion. Sometimes there is such a thing as an objective truth. It's really an unpleasant and unenjoyable experience to go to IconFit now and I am very disappointed the management has not turned down the music, just a little. Not a lot to ask.

I'm very disappointed in the customer service at this specific club. I recently joined it, and I had to freeze my account, which I was told by Daniel that it's okay to freeze up to two months. When I freeze my account, I was charged, and Daniel said that I will be credited for the next month. The next month, when I had to freeze again, I was charged again two months, which is $770. I was very upset, and there was a reason that I no longer was able to come to the Equinox, and I said that I want to cancel my membership. Gina Wong, he connected me with her, and this person was extremely rude, not communicative. Every time when I tried to call her, she would say she would call me back, but never would. Via email, I expressed my feelings, and she said that I cannot freeze my account, I cannot cancel it, and they continue charging me. So it's been three months since I haven't visited the Equinox, and they continue charging me. At this point, I have no choice but to reach out to the CEO of the Equinox, and also, I would never ever advise anyone to join this club, because all they care just about their money. If you ever want to cancel, good luck with that. They care about their money. Gina Wong is just the worst person to deal with it. She would refuse to communicate, she would refuse to call you back, she would refuse to be there for you, especially when you're going through experience with the fires, that I lost part of my business during the fire, and I'm no longer able to pay that Equinox because of the fire, that I was a victim of the fire.

I’d give equinox a 2.5 star rating if I could since there’s an equal amount of pros and cons of getting a membership here. Pros: -unlimited classes -unlimited classes -accessible amenities Cons: 1. horrible customer service, rude misinformed staff 2. no appreciation or loyalty to members 1. I have a student membership at the uc Berkeley location and I truly truly loved my first two months as an equinox member. The classes have amazing instructors at the Berkeley location for all of the classes and I believe they do uphold their instructors to be the highest quality. Another plus is how you can take unlimited classes and this is probably the best part. The most frustrating experiences as a member has been the customer service as none of them are truly well informed. I’m not saying berkeleys location as it’s kind of a special location so the customer service with concierge there was usually accurate, with only small things where I was misinformed but no where near as bad as other locations. As I’m originally from the LA area I went to the century city location multiple times and every time there was some bad mistake by the concierge that was helping me. I don’t mind mistakes as it’s only human but my main frustration was there inability to fix their mess ups. And they would be pretty bad mess ups like one time they charged another customer for something I was supposed to be Charged and it resulted in me missing half of the yoga class I was attending bc I had to talk to the concierge person for a while. After that they made me responsible to fixing the mistake with very bad instructions and I ended up giving up because I was upset at how horrible the service was. Another instance was I chatted with concierge on the app to pause my account as there is a policy that for students at the Berkeley location can pause there account for one month, no fee. I was told very confidently that ALL members (including Berkeley) HAD to pay a pausing fee of $50 multiple times but when I called my location and talked to other members they said that is absolutely wrong. Thankfully I called instead of chatting and they told me that yes I could pause my account for free for a month. I nearly paid the $50 pause fee so I was grateful I checked and tried again and was helped by another staff member that was better informed. 2. Another issue I had with equinox is that I’m paying quite a lot so I’d expect that they would honor loyal customers as that’s usually how it works with luxury companies. I recruited four members to the club as I loved and raved about the gym a lot in the beginning. Then when I’d ask for possible deals on more guest passes (as literally every one of my guests ended up signing up) or like possible day passes for when I’d go back home on break at LA locations, they would never ever honor any favors to loyal members. I understand that’s not promised when you bring in new members to sign up for equinox too but you’d think they would treat you with some little favors when politely asked. I also believe bringing in 4 members to join equinox is quite a pretty penny and I just think for the price u pay for this gym, there should be way better service.

The staff at the front desk exhibit a troubling lack of professionalism and maturity. Their attitude is consistently poor, and they seem ill-equipped to handle client interactions effectively. Considering this is one of the most expensive gyms in Los Angeles, this level of service is both unacceptable and disappointing.

Convenient location and beautiful gym, but not enough value or respect given to individual members and their needs. Even after being a member for over 7 years and consistently paying for personal training/pilates sessions, the manager doesn’t have the time to help resolve member issues/problems. They fired my Pilates instructor the day they asked me to buy another package of sessions without informing me that my instructor would no longer be returning; and now when I requested a refund for the remaining sessions they tell me they are non refundable. After speaking with the general manager regarding this issue, she reassured me she would come up with a solution by last Saturday… still haven’t heard from her. I have called and left a few messages for her since then.. and keep being told she’s in meetings. Hopefully this review reaches someone who can actually help.

Sick from black mold at equinox! Equinox downtown LA has black mold in the AC vents, and they blast the AC all day long! Air filled with spores. Mainly i feel bad for the employees who breath it all day, but black mold spores are highly neurotoxic and cause life long health problems! even when breathed in occasionally. super crazy for a place where you go to be healthy! membership canceled, i’m chronically ill and i can’t believe the gym that i go to rehab my body in is actually making me sick.

I love this Equinox location so much! The interior design is gorgeous and it’s nice and secluded. The morning classes are never packed so it’s nice to have a lot of space to workout in peace. The trainers here are also super friendly and are always willing to help you with personalized suggestions. Overall, of all the Equinox locations that I’ve tried, I like this one the best. The only complaint I have is that the parking structure is a little crazy.. it’s so hard to find the entrance and when you’re in the structure, it feels like a maze.

This equinox DTLA is relatively smaller than other locations but the interior design is modern, clean & gorgeous. The cleaning staff is amazing at keeping the club & bathroom clean and dry. I hate wet dirty floors lol the men’s bathroom is clean & dry so I am thankful. Many good classes & instructors! I had good experiences taking the classes, because the instructors are professional and friendly. Overall, I enjoy this location!

The parking at this location is so hard to find. I accidentally went into the gate right next to it and was charged $4 instantly. Equinox should at least put a sign on the entrance to let people know about this!

I wouldn’t rely on the common courtesy of some of the front desk or sales staff. They are unhelpful, rude, and non-accommodating. Highly disappointed in how Spencer treated my guest after 3 years of coming to the DTLA club. I had always heard stories about rude Equinox staff who go on power trips or whose egos are in over drive, but had never encountered them before myself until today. I think some humility or courtesy workshops could be helpful in fostering better customer service at this location. Never experienced this at the signature club or the Newport location. They treat their customers with the professionalism and respect of the highest order.

Not enough water fountains for a physical education building, and too many cockroaches. The handicap entrance leads to the basement, but it's impossible for a wheelchair to get to the sub-basement (where group exercise rooms are used for various activities). There's allegedly an elevator to take you from the basement to the first and second floors, but it--like the rest of the building--looks like it hasn't been serviced in decades. Some brave souls have taken the elevator and emerged unscathed, but they never want to take it again...

Nice old building, could possibly use a little more care considering Annenberg is right next door.
