This club is awful and not at all worth $300 a month. I was told when I joined that it was “never crowded” but that was a lie — this is one of the MOST crowded gyms I’ve ever been to, much more than a regular bodybuilding gym. More importantly, there’s a bunch of facility issues they constantly attempt to cover up. There was water damage in the first floor ceiling that tore a hole through it. I constantly receive emails about water outages throughout the club (shower and drinking water). We were kicked out once because the lights were flickering like crazy which I’m pretty sure is a electricity hazard. The basement fully SET ON FIRE once because of a dryer overheating and we had to be evacuated. I tried to attach photos but Google deleted my review unless I removed them. I’ve heard from trainers that they are instructed by management to go up to random people and try to sell them sessions constantly. Why am I paying $300 to be bothered by trainers non-stop? They are also treated extremely poorly and pretty much exploited (only paid $20-30 a session for the first few months, even though Equinox charges ~$150) so good luck finding a trainer to work with who won’t quit after 2-3 months. I met a trainer once who quit after two days. The “luxury customer service” they try to sell you is a complete lie. The sales people will tell you anything to try to get you to sign up, but once you’re in, you’re on your own. And it doesn’t feel like a luxury gym by any means, aside from the fact that the gym itself is pretty and the machines are nice. Everytime I’ve filed feedback for something in the past, it’s brushed over with the most flippant or ridiculous response — but no action. The staff and front desk are amazing for the most part; I’ve met some people here who are great, but other than that my experience has been horrendous. I’m trying to speak to them currently on the basis of all aforementioned issues and am just being ghosted or given the runaround. This customer service isn’t even worth a dollar a month, much less $300. You’d get better customer service at a PF.

This location is very well spaced out over multiple floors and ranks as one of the better Equinoxes in Downtown Manhattan. The treadmills are on another level with charging stations and high quality screens for entertainment that immensely upgrade your workout. The main exercise studio is spacious and well supplied with different weights. It’s a bit crowded on Saturdays but nowhere near as atrocious as SoHo on any given day. The women’s locker room is immaculate and the only downside is the low water pressure of the showers. All in all this is one of my favorite Equinox locations!

This new Equinox location in NoMad is beautiful, 3 floors of equipment with spacious stretching areas. Very well maintained and extremely clean. The lobby is very nice decorated with plenty of comfortable seats. Gentle staff and very helpful.

Good amount of space across 4 floors, and solid diversity in equipment. Better than your average Equinox, but not quite a flagship location. No pool and it’s a bit odd that the lounge area has no separation from the rest of the gym. I’d recommend this location over the nearby Flatiron and Gramercy Equinoxes

I wanted to write about the tour / sales rep experience along with my actual experience at the gym. I was assigned to meet with Scott but he was apparently out so I got Marcos. It was easy to book online through the website and it was nice to take advantage of the holiday sale where they waive the initiation fee. Upon entering the lobby, I loved how nice the lobby is, great place to relax , take a phone call and recuperate with their nice lounge chairs with plenty of tables. Concierge was so nice. Marcos seemed nervous when he greeted me, and kinda is gave me vibes that he was judging me upon first appearance, which is human nature but its safe to say that i did not fit their typical customer mold of being a hot athlete or rich finance bro/chick. Nonetheless I made it a point that i am postpartum and have a modest goal of working out 3 times a week with some cardio and group classes in mind. The facility itself was beautiful with a comprehensive map showing what equipment and studios are on each floor. The equipment easily is worth 25k, it was nicely organized, and each floor was being cleaned 24.7. There is plenty of space to lift weights, a stretch area, and plenty of cardio machines that are state of the art and not on top of each other. The studios are amazing, it is so nice to have all the equipment and mats you need already with their easy to use equinox plus app to book classes 26 hours in advance. Loved that they do spin classes too. There is also good reformer Pilates studio for those who want 1 on 1 private classes. The spa looks really relaxing and very cozy, i would totally take a nap in there. The scented towels and water stations are also a big plus. What annoyed me with sales is they don't go over billing questions like how to do i freeze or cancel , what are the plus and minuses of doing a membership at on location versus passport which can get you into cool places like Hudson yards. i also got no explanation about how to contact billing, but reviews show concierge as the domain to contact so when I brought it up he agreed that was the route to go. It also is not clear why some places cost more than others along with what day passes or guest passes you can use. He also didn’t volunteer that you can upgrade or downgrade/freeze membership anytime. There was a big push to book their fancy personal training packages and go with the free fitness test which probably leads to big lectures about why you need to book a trainer. Seemed like Niko was a popular trainer he used himself. You can easily expect to spend an extra 2k on these types of trainers on top of the hefty 285 you pay a month. Even when you workout in the gym you will see trainers look at you like a hawk hoping to connect with you as a potential client. Really awkward. I guess they all make commission off of these things. Either way expect an amazing workout in the classes, so much to choose from between barre, cycling, running, rowing, strength training, yoga, heated yoga, Pilates, ab workouts, the list goes on and on. I have thoroughly enjoyed each class and yes instructors are hardcore from like Penn State, but they really give it their all. When that is all done, you can enjoy their amazing steam room with clean showers, and amazing grown alchemist skin care products. i also appreciate their high end hair tools, hair ties, shaving razors and hair ties- its also nice that they have good lotions after you shower and plenty of stations to sit and change or do your makeup. I do wish this place had a pool/jacuzzi or dry sauna. lockers are also kind of small, but no lock is needed. You can take advantage of their coat check near the locker rooms. Overall, it is safe to say that this gym is worth the money and has the luxury perks but it is probably not the top equinox location- it has the potential though!

Friday night was as empty as a town still under covid lockdown. Most members are usually there for show and not for working out. Many are playing with their phone. One guy texted himself back and forth 🧐 It’s just surreal. At least a third are not who they say they are. Exaggerated finances and wealth vs reality of them living in a subsidized NYCHA Building or shared group dormitory style homes. The well dressed with allegedly purchased $$$ clothing but managed to pickpocket other members. Or the knockoff handbags purchased from Chinatown street vendors but claimed to be the genuine. But the top award definitely goes to the know it all who knows nothing. Always that gossip queen at a gym but have no evidence of whatever they say. At least 1 out of 10 are there to find a wealthy nepo or grandpa to finance their lifestyle. Why work when you can just get someone else to pay for it? Too many wannabe influencers and employees from different locations working out on their off time. So yes we know who the employees and struggling actors are even if they lie about their job titles. It’s a hotel style gym with minimal amenities and equipment. Always broken and not repaired for weeks. Theft is prevalent especially around the holidays. And it’s not those perceived as looking poor or being a minority who are thieves. Maybe leave your EBT card home if you’re dressed in a $$ Lululemon and pretending to be rich. Men’s locker room is tiny. No sauna in the men’s locker room. They recently switched to Grown Alchemist. Lots of complaints about it. Corporate workers engage in forbidden steam room and sauna activities. If they’re fit and hot, those grandpas would certainly noticed. But the idea of having to suffer through minutes of seeing prego bods and wrinkles are undoubtedly a permanent eyesore. The steamy air won’t make them look better. The top awards in the steamy air go to those who manscapes, urinates, and clean their ends while leaving brown colored liquids everywhere. Group classes are at the level of Orange Theory. Indoor pool is inconvenient for members. 3 out of 4 lanes are usually roped off for classes and personal training. Hot tub is a health hazard. Cold plunge is hardly ever cold enough. Pilates room is the size of a closet. Outdoor pool is no longer heated during the fall and winter seasons. Outdoor saunas are usually broken, slimy or reserved for the unstable taking meditation classes. Front desk employees are often rude and obnoxious. Trainers have poor interpersonal skills. All in all it’s not worth the $$$ membership fees.

Crowded during peak times. The outdoor saunas don't stay hot because they aren't wind proof. Weightlifting equipment is very basic. The indoor lap pool is great, but the hot tub is full all the time.

Another location where no email or any notification has been sent out saying the entire pool area is closed. This place is a small gym very little to offer and requires a massive amount of money for monthly membership. I really don’t see what the point is to paying for this, you would want to be able to use the Jacuzzi in the winter time. I think it’s time to join Vital

Nice clean gym, but doesn’t justify the cost. It’s nowhere near as good as the “Sports Clubs” Equinox location on UWS, which is actually substantially cheaper now. They stopped the heating outdoor pool, and keep saying its a thermostat issue, but hasn’t been fixed in months. Men’s locker room is microscopic and many members seem to do all their grooming in there, so you can’t even walk without bumping into people. They won’t put a 2nd leg lift machine in, despite current one being used 98% of the time, even off peak. Lastly, they promised me I could pause my membership, still get billed, but get a time credit after the contract was over for the duration of the pause. I did this for 4 months, and then they said they stopped doing that and wouldn’t honor it

Amazing experience! If you’re a peloton, this is a must-do while in NYC. The whole process was well-organized, friendly, engaging, and high energy! It’s a core memory for me and my friends on a girls’ trip to the city. Locker rooms are clean and smell nice. They have Dyson hair dryers and other accessories. Shoutout to Juan getting us all ready and hype, Darnell for coordination, and Camila and Alex for being the inspiring coaches they are and making an incredible difference in so many lives! Alex, thank you for being the motivation I needed during one of the most challenging times in my life. You are amazing.

I was perfectly satisfied with my Peloton bike and all the classes at home but visiting the studio blew me away! I did yoga and two cycling classes with the Denis Morton who is an amazing instructor, truly gifted! The entire experience, from the moment I walked in the door was first class, the design and decor and the team members, all of whom made me feel well taken care of, and the patrons were all so happy to be there — very good vibes all around! And I definitely want to shout out Camala who was so considerate to me and everyone else who kept asking for help—she exuded kindness and resourcefulness!

I got an email invite from Peloton to attend Jess King’s Pump the Beat ride for Pride 🌈. Being from Texas and not local, I thought it was a great opportunity to get out and meet my favorite Peloton instructor. What an amazing experience! Jess King’s class was challenging yet doable 🚴♀️, and her amazing personality and charisma kept my spirits up the entire time 😃. A few tips for those planning to attend: •Make sure to check in 45–60 minutes before the start of the class. If you aren’t checked in 30 minutes before class, your spot will be released. •Dress appropriately—official Peloton Apparel is encouraged! All outfits are reviewed upon entry to the studio. Tops are required for the duration of the class (sports bras are okay). Glitter is not permitted. •Bring your photo ID for health, safety, and to confirm you meet the age requirements. •Have your username and password ready to participate on the Leaderboard. If you forget your login information, you can reset your password. •The locker rooms are fully equipped with keyless lockers, changing and shower facilities. Amenities include complimentary towels, shower products, Dyson hair dryers, and straighteners. •Sweat towels are provided on the bike, and they also provide cycling shoes if you need them. Thank you, Jess, and thank you, Peloton, for an unforgettable experience

short: great gym option at affordable price money-saving tip: wait for the semi-annual Groupon special where the membership is half the regular price if pay for one year long: It's okay. It's in a basement, which I'm not a fan of. It is clean and doesn't stink like Planet Fitness. The usual: crowded after work hours and people using the machines as furniture while texting for long periods of time, and people that seem to love to make sure their sweat is absorbed by the next person. I don't enjoy working out when I go to this location, so I just do a little something and leave before it gets crowded. I recommend this location as an alternative to Planet Fitness. If your budget can do it, Crunch is double the price but has classes and a very great atmosphere to work out in.

Out of the 4 gyms I've been in the Manhattan Area (54th Street, Bryant Park, Grand Central and now Chelsea) I would say at this point, this location is the largest Blink Gym in the city. It was almost the most crowded too, I was afraid I was gonna come across a similar situation to the gym in Corona, Queens with withdrawn, rude patrons hogging gym equipment. Fortunately it didn't come to that, I barely had to wait to use any machines that I wanted to make use of so I got a pretty good workout today. The gym interior is comfortable, the location of the area is nice and the commute there isn't complex, just taking the E train gets me there in 45 minutes. I will come around here again whenever I have another itch to come back to Manhattan.

Blink gyms are dotted around the city and I have been to a few and was going to the Avenue A one for over six months. This location in Chelsea is my favorite. It’s large, has lots of excellent machines, a large area for stretching, many cardio machines and a nice ladies locker room. I have been coming here for over five years. The staff are friendly and professional. Since I have been here the managers have had a high turnover - Lizzandro, Dulcie, Bella, Vince, Joel and now Bo. Except for Bella, I liked all of them. Bo is nice too. Team Blink of Adonis, Chris and Ciara who are there in the mornings are the people I see when I come in. They always have smiles on their faces. Recently Blink filed for bankruptcy and I was alarmed that they may close but was relieved that this was not the case. While the playlist is iffy at times I wish they would play more of rock and disco. Much peppier than rap. One person I miss a lot is Sara who was the cleaner. She was excellent. Often the bathrooms are not clean and run out of necessities.

The staff is nice : ) but they’re not very transparent about the $60 annual maintenance fee that comes even with the monthly plans, AND if you want to cancel they’ll still make you pay for another 2 months with a confusing scheme about pro-rated cancellation depending on when in the month you want to cancel. The equipment is somewhat old and not amazingly well-maintained, especially the ellipticals which are pretty run-down. The machines are pretty densely packed as well, and I don’t see any air purifiers or ventilation for Covid safety, and perhaps as a result most of the place reeks of body odor. I’m sure being in a basement and not having any doors or windows directly outside doesn’t help (also lends itself a sorta creepy dungeon vibe)

I’ve heard good things about this location before and I can now confirm — this is a really nice Equinox club with tasteful decoration and cool little details. I particularly like the large windows on the 2nd floor, the ones at the corner of Orchard Street and Houston Street. Good spot to people watch while stretching or doing your core exercises. Locker room is spacious and clean. Hoping to take a class here at some point to check out the studio space, and to see if the instructors are good, but already an awesome location to add to my rotation.

Very bad experience, not really sure what is supposed to be the appeal of this company. They rely on lies to get you to sign up for a membership, then make it nearly impossible to cancel. When I signed up I was told I would get a free month because of the referral I signed up with, that was a lie. I was told that I would have multi gym access because the locker room was under construction, that was a lie. The equipment is worse than the $10/mo planet fitness I used to go to in michigan and it is inconveniently crowded most of the time. Also, men frequently cruise in the steam room--really gross and unsanitary. They are refusing to cancel my membership now, it's really weird and this place in general seems like a scam. Sometimes things that are more expensive are worse, eh? I recommend staying away from this company and gym and going literally anywhere else.

I’m not sure whose idea it was to close down the Women’s locker room at The Orchard Location for 10 weeks and not tell anyone until a day before. This is a terrible, TERRIBLE inconvenience Equinox has provided and really sucks - and having all access to some clubs isn’t the way to handle the situation. Shame on you Equinox.

Another member (middle age middle eastern woman) here constantly harasses me, accuses me of stealing her belongings and makes indecent comments about my clothing, and is always staring when I’m just trying to work out. Mind you, I dress like every other woman there. This has been happening since March, and I’ve reported her to management (specifically Anthony and Robert) several times yet there has been no progress on the situation… given I pay so much, the disregard is absolutely insane to me.

The layout is dysfunctional. You're gonna have to be going up and down the floors almost constantly during your session. There also aren't enough ropes for the pulldowns. The lockers are the best I've ever seen. They have little compartments so you can organize your belongings neatly. The steam room is decently sized and comfortable. The hair dryers are missing the flat end attachments. And weirdly, the knob for my shower control was installed backwards. Water pressure is good though. Aesthetically the place looks very nice and charming. In terms of functionality, it's not so great.

I did my first class at Barry’s for free with the Corporate Challenge! I did not have much expectation going into the class, just pictured it as a regular workout class people goto. However, my perspective changed after completing my first session. Some important aspects to the class I thought was the instructor, the people, and the music. The instructor tells instruction on what do to for the next workout about every 30 sec. There’s a lot of people, I went to 8:30am class. And the music is played out loud at a decent volume. All of this coupled together makes the class exciting, interactive, and motivating as you see other people doing the same thing. Everyone is there with the same goal in mind, and NO headphones! I highly recommend anybody try it out! Best part hands down is Oribe body lotion they have! Smells amazing!

I took Ricki's 7PM class this past Wednesday and was blown away. The space is gorgeous and the instructor's energy was magnetic! She guided us through a fairly athletic sequence that focused on core strength, all the while encouraging us to make modifications as needed / get creative + take things at our own pace. It was obvious she truly cares about the experience of each individual as she encouraged us to set an intention and carry that intention throughout the practice using our movements and specific breathing techniques. I left feeling more refreshed / revitalized than I have in a long while - body & spirit! At $10 per 75 minute class, this place is a steal. Will definitely be returning with an eye out for any / all classes taught by Ricki. Talk about yogi finesse!

I have been to a good number of gyms including both private and public, school gyms and the ones at apartment complex--basically different gyms every time I move to a new place as we all have. Among all of them, this gym has been my absolute favorite so far. The staffs here, although most of them are students, are very friendly and hard-working and the facilities are well-maintained by them. Most of all, the people--again, mostly students--who work out here are respectful to others and making an effort to keep the equipments clean.

I am a senior in undergrad at NYU. Except one of the four years, 404 was shut down due to Covid. I am here like four times a week. 404 has been an amazing gym although for some reason it has got more crowded since Covid. I guess NYU somehow has been getting more students. The staff here is mainly students who are friendly and helpful. Considering the gym is located in Manhattan, it’s a relatively big gym. Everything is clean. Btw they always have problems with water fountains, which sometimes run water slowly or even don’t work at all.

This is the nicest of the 3 NYU gyms, probably because all the main machines and weights face a complete row of windows. There’s any sort of equipment you could ever want, updated quite frequently (the new cardio equipment just came in June 2019). Clean, respectful atmosphere, rarely crowded but for the start of each term.

When I first decided to join Rumble, it was because I wanted to focus on myself and find a place that made me feel positive and motivated. I was hopeful that this would be the right environment to help me bring out the best in myself. However, my first visit to Rumble was a bit of a mixed experience. When I arrived, a girl at the front desk helped me, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was being made fun of. Despite this, I decided to give it a chance because I was committed to trying something new. I paid $80 for two classes and honestly, the classes were great. The instructor had amazing energy, and I really enjoyed the workout. But something about the way the front desk staff behaved left me feeling uncomfortable, like they were laughing behind my back. It was strong enough that I questioned whether I should continue going. Still, I reminded myself that this was about my personal journey and the benefits I could get from the workout. I ended up emailing Rumble for some information, and they responded well. But then, when I called them yesterday, a lady answered the phone and started laughing while I was talking. She even put me on mute, and it felt very unprofessional. To be honest, it came across as quite racist, and although I know that’s a big word to use, that’s how it felt to me.

Great workout and amenities. The showers were clean and the locker room as well. All basics were provided including bags for dirty clothes. Will definitely be going again

Beautiful studio and amazing instructor (Xtina)! Front desk staff could improve a bit with welcoming newcomers. Felt like I was interrupting the important conversation with her coworker. Then sort of thrown into the fire with a quick recited script. Thankfully I knew what I was doing but not sure how it would go for a complete newbie.

Despite claiming to be beginner friendly, I don’t think the experience was very friendly to beginners. I believe the instructor taught the basic boxing gestures at the beginning (I was a little late so that was my fault), but she never repeated any instructions / demonstrated the actions during the full session. It then became really hard to follow (I felt like even if I attended the training, I will still appreciate refreshers during the session as it’d be demanding to remember everything perfectly. For the bench side, we just did some HIIT with instructions on the screen ahead on the wall but my view was almost fully blocked by a pillar, making it impossible to follow instructions. The instructor also mumbled random instructions which changed the HIIT plan mid way which I can’t understand at all…. I know it’s probably okay for people who go there often, but for me personally, who went for the first time, not a great experience.

I LOVE the energy but would have hoped that they could offer a full 45min boxing session rather than half boxing + half floor work.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We absolutely love coming to this playground! My 17-month-old always has the best time here. The play structures are perfect for little ones – safe, clean, and thoughtfully designed with toddlers in mind. It’s so nice to have a place where he can run, explore, and be curious in a safe environment. The soft ground surface adds peace of mind, and there are plenty of shaded areas for breaks. I also appreciate the friendly community of parents we meet here – everyone is kind and welcoming. Highly recommend for families with young children looking for a fun, safe place to play!

Today I was here. My child and I really liked the park. The child is 6 years old. Very diverse play complexes and there are a lot of them. If the child stays here even for the whole day, he will not be bored. Everything is made safe for children. Clean. There are open, but fenced rooms for small children too. We were there for two hours. But the child did not want to leave. The owner allowed the children to stay as long as they wanted and play for free. He is very kind. They have a cafe where you can have a snack and a tasty meal with children. The owner says that they will soon organize hot food too. Simply, an awesome place for children, especially on rainy and cold days. I recommend it.

Had my sons birthday party here, after buying a day package on Groupon. I will say it was easy enough to book, however due to a mix up I didn’t receive an email confirmation until the day before the party. I had to hound them. Other than that space is beautiful spacious and they set us up in a beautiful corner couldn’t have been more pleased with our experience.

Where else in NYC can your child and you play in a jungle gym 2 full stories tall?! This place is well worth the money. Between the 4 floors of things to do, with books and crannies for many many ages. And there are classes and programs for them as well. I've been 6 times with my child and can't wait to go back.

I found this place via Instagram and it’s just a cool place for kids and kids on spectrum. It’s a great rainy day or cold weather indoor playground. My girl liked it so much that we went two days in a row! The cost includes 1 kid and 1 adult. They have healthy food options in the cafe as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Will definitely return
