One of my fav Barry’s studios, very friendly staff! Would be great if they can fix the water station. Not working quite well recently.

The most cramped studio of the 6 locations I visited in NYC, with pillars obstructing parts of the Red Room and a sweaty changing room. Elle's class was great.

I love the trainers and the classes but this studio is SMALL. The locker room is cramped and the showers could use a better cleaning. Overall, there are much better Barry’s studios to go to in NYC.

Great workout and super nice staff at this TriBeCa location. I like the new workout rotation over the week, with the full-body reserved for the weekend. Great selection of healthy smoothies and Barry’s apparel. I love the workout of Luke and Amber, hard but enjoyable at the same time. For people new to Barry’s, in each workout class you usually have 2 to 4 rounds, depending on the coach, where you alternate running and floor. Enjoy!

If I could give 10 stars I would! From the amazing customer service thanks to Shavonne and the motivating classes from Scott and Ben, I'll absolutely be back! I can't speak highly enough of this place. I'm just returning to the gym after many years away, and their treatment really made me feel comfortable and motivated to continue! THANK YOU, BARRY'S TRIBECA!!

While in NYC for business, I got a day pass at Crunch Fitness on the days I worked out, and it was such a great experience! The staff were super friendly and really focused on making sure everyone felt welcome. One thing I loved, especially compared to gyms in Germany, was the free towels—such a nice touch! The location was super convenient, and the gym had everything I needed for a solid workout. Definitely a place I’d recommend to anyone visiting the city!

Sauna and steam room! Plus all the other things. Not sure why ppl don’t take classes here like at other locations (which are booked solid for all of January). True they don’t have a full sched but the classes they have are good.

Very nice cute gym but it threw me off that there were no squat racks. Clearly this gyms main clientele doesn’t mind that, but just a good thing to know before coming. Beautiful locker room, love the option of a hot sauna or a steam room. Will definitely be back.

This gym is so dated 😩 so old looking. When are you even going to remodel and update your look and new equipment. It has to be one of the uglier gyms I've ever seen. Looks like a cheap gym from the 1980s or something. Just saying 😌 🤷BTW I'm being kind giving it 3 stars 🌟

I had chance to visit this gym recently. The place has lots of new equipments for every level of exercises. It is very clean and organized overall. The staffs in the front desk are very welcoming and friendly. I also like the sauna and steam room in the female room. There are also plenty clean towels in the changing room. The location is also very convenient. I had a great experience overall. Highly recommended to everyone who enjoy every level of exercises!

Overpriced, Unprofessional, and Poorly Designed I recently joined this gym, hoping for a solid place to get my fitness routine back on track, but it’s been a huge letdown. Between the outrageous prices, poor design, and an environment that feels more like a photo shoot than a place to work out, I won’t be renewing my membership. First off, the design of the gym is terrible. The layout feels cramped and inefficient, -and its a 4 story gym... go figure! The locker rooms are another nightmare. Instead of being a place to get changed quickly and move on with your day, they’ve become a social media hotspot. People spend hours in the locker rooms, sitting around, taking pictures, and recording videos for Instagram. It’s not just a quick snap here and there—these people are practically living in the locker room, blocking the benches and making it impossible to change or even have some privacy. The staff seems completely oblivious to this issue, which only adds to the frustration. They are too afraid to say anything because of the "extreme progressive movement" or blasted on social media and being cancelled. And let’s not even get started on the pricing. This gym is far too expensive for what it offers. it feels like you're paying for a lot of fluff rather than real value. I could find a much better gym for half the price, where the equipment is more spaced out, the environment is focused on fitness, and I’m not paying for the privilege of having to fight for space or avoid selfie culture in the locker room. Overall, this gym is a total waste of money. Poorly designed, overpriced, and with zero regard for creating a serious workout environment, it’s not worth the hype. If you’re serious about your fitness goals, I suggest you save your money and find somewhere else that actually cares about its members.

“Terrible Experience – Adrea and Equinox Greenwich Ave Are a Complete Scam!” I had a Hydrafacial done with Adrea at Equinox Greenwich Ave, and it was hands-down the WORST facial experience of my life. I informed her multiple times beforehand that I have sensitive skin and needed her to be cautious. Despite this, she applied way too much pressure with the suction wand, leaving me with severe redness, irritation, and even scarring. This is completely unacceptable for a service that is supposed to be gentle and marketed as safe for sensitive skin. During the facial, I expressed my discomfort and brought up that my skin was becoming increasingly red and irritated. Instead of addressing the issue or adjusting her technique, Adrea dismissed my concerns and blamed my skin for being “too sensitive.” This kind of unprofessionalism is appalling, especially from someone representing Equinox, which prides itself on luxury services. I have had countless Hydrafacials before at other places and NEVER experienced a reaction like this. It is clear that Adrea lacks the skill and care to perform this treatment properly. Equinox, as a whole, is an outrageously overpriced scam. They charge obscene amounts for services and yet clearly don’t care about their customers. The level of disregard for my experience—both during the session and in its aftermath—is shocking. For what they charge, I expected far better treatment and professionalism. Instead, I was met with recklessness, dismissiveness, and damage to my skin. I am demanding a full refund for this disaster of a facial. Equinox needs to reevaluate both its staff and its approach to customer service because this is unacceptable. I strongly urge anyone considering their spa services to stay far away. Equinox is all flash and no substance—you’re paying for their ego, not actual quality or care.

Experiencing Equinox for the first time on a guest pass was a memorable occasion. While I was inclined to award a perfect rating, I withheld one star due to the noticeable wear and tear on some of the equipment. However, this minor flaw was overshadowed by the overall excellence of my visit. The front desk staff exuded warmth and hospitality, creating an inviting atmosphere from the moment I arrived. Navigating the gym was seamless, even during peak hours, as there was ample equipment available, ensuring the space never felt overcrowded. I eagerly anticipate beginning my membership and making Equinox a regular part of my routine.

Equinox Greenwich Avenue is widely recognized as NYC’s top gay gym, offering an atmosphere that’s unmatched in inclusivity and LGBTQ+ pride. This isn’t just a gym; it’s a space where LGBTQ+ members can workout freely, relax in the immaculate locker rooms and steam room, and feel completely at ease among like-minded individuals. The vibe here is distinct and vibrant, a true community setting where members find both fitness and camaraderie. Straight men, if you’re truly open-minded and comfortable in an environment where hot gay guys might flirt just as naturally as anyone would at any other gym, you’ll fit right in. Otherwise, there are plenty of other gyms in NYC! For those who value an inclusive, respectful, and fun vibe, this place is a true gem. 🏳️‍🌈💪

I extremely recommend this gym. Super clean and safe environment to workout and following all protocols to stay healthy and safe. All the equipment and work out areas are clean and brand new and renovated.

Joined this location this past summer and have had a great experience thus far. The locker rooms are kept in great condition (Joanne is the best!), they have all the equipment you would ever need and the classes are plentiful. While it can be busy occasionally, it never feels too crowded thanks to the multiple floors and different workout areas. Would definitely recommend!

I personally love this location (I would say my favorite one) Royce is a gem! From the moment I signed up, he was incredible to work with. I have met a ton of cool people at this location. It’s located in the heart of West Village. Amazing views from the top floor. I cannot wait for when the pool is open this summer 🙌🏼

Insanely overcrowded now as they try to recover the losses during Covid. Looks and feels like a budget gym, but for $300/month. Elevators break every week and they don’t even notify members anymore

Printing House is the most beautiful Equinox I’ve been to. I love the skyline view in the yoga studio, the pool deck, and all the natural light. The variety of classes and instructors make it easy to find something that fits my vibe for that day.

This is my least favorite SoulCycle studio, from the layout to the size of the overall bathrooms. The entire studio is really only one main floor, with ample lockers. I didn't love that the showers were quite limited, with only 2 regular showers and 1 handicap. I felt like I had to rush out of class early, before the stretching, to secure a shower. The changing area is quite tight as well and the also limited bathroom stalls (only 2) are a bit dingy. The staff does a good job keeping the facilities clean, however I felt that the studio itself needs renovations. The layout of the bike studio itself is a bit weird and the room was pretty musky prior. The bikes also felt a bit older, as my bike handles were pretty worn.

Like other SoulCycle studios, the experience/difficulty/music really depends on the instructor here. Jonas's class is great - it's a decent amount of choreography, a lot of hip-hop, and it's fun. This studio has 3 showers and towels provided, so it can be difficult to snag a shower after a booked class. Spin shoes are available to rent for a price (or you can bring your own), and you can also buy water there.

Anandah was amazing yesterday!!! Very uplifting instructor w a great playlist. Feeling the burn today

This studio is connected to the corporate office of SoulCycle. The main one; and then the downstairs studio which is often used for community rides; and for private events. It has a nice public area; but the locker room is on the smaller side for those who are going in the morning and planning on showering there. Has all the expected amenities; and generally gets pretty good instructors. Also, because of location - see lots of celebs in classes.

Good open front locker area, and pretty standard number of showers (3) and amount of space in the women's locker room for Soul studios. Always well stocked with amenities, and class time options are numerous since there are 2 studios (one upstairs, one down).

Charlie was fabulous! Great energy, motivating playlist and killer workout. Had a great form correction demo for the group that helped clients know not just how to fix form but why we were fixing it. Thanks Charlie!

Decent actual studio but especially cramped changing room - unique among the 20 studios I've visited there's nowhere to sit to dry your lower half / put your shoes on (no, three flimsy plastic breakfast bar-style high stools do not count!) Robyn the trainer I had was excellent.

These workouts work for me! They push me to work harder, and I see the results in my body comp that I’m looking for. The FOH staff is so friendly and helpful, even at 6 in the morning! The coaches are awesome…I love the ability to choose when and where to take class based off who is teaching and what the body part focus is for the day.

Great Barry's location - clean facilities, friendly staff, and any shower necessities you need (towel, toiletries, Dyson hairdryer, etc). The lockers may be tricky if it's your first time using one of theirs, so ask a staff for help before locking your stuff unexpectedly! For the class, you start on either the floor or treadmill, then you're instructed to swap stations 2xs, so that you do each section twice. You can opt to be on either the floor or treadmill the whole time though. The format of the class takes a second to get used to, since the instructor directs both sections at the same time. Definitely a HIlT style class to get used to, but I loved sweating it out! I wish there was more space between the lockers inside the women's locker rooms and the vanity area post shower. Barry's is unfortunately on the higher price of workout classes ($40), but would def return for another class, when they have more deals!

i usually have a great experience at my usual barry’s location, i decided to try this location due to a friends recommendation and i have to say the woman at the front desk, Alexis, was extremely rude and judgmental from the way she interacted with me and looked at me i felt like she thought she was above me. i told her i wanted to book a class and she looked me up and down and said “are you sure ? “ with a smirk and in a condescending way. decided to not even take the class, will be sticking with my usually location

Been a member of the Yale Club for 30 years. Going there is like coming home as you know almost all the staff for a long long time. What’s better is they know you and it just makes it the most welcoming place. Over the years I’ve watched the dress code become more and more relaxed, which is helpful sometimes if you’re not wearing a suit or tie, but if you’re going there, please understand that, although they allow sneaker-like soles ,track sneakers, and sneakers like that and gym attire, etc. etc. are absolutely prohibited and collared shirts are a must and please check your coats and bags. Specially this time of year when it’s very busy and the lounge on the second floor gets crowded. And finally, it’s a very special place, so try and dress and act accordingly and you’ll have the best time!

We stayed for a couple of nights and had such a great experience. The staff was very polite and attentive especially Juan in front desk went above and beyond to help with whatever we needed. Room was in excellent condition and facilities are great. Also, the location is very convenient because it offers easy access to many places in town. The atmosphere in the club gives you the sense that you are like at home. Highly recommended.

Attended a powerful seminar in incident response there. Beautiful facility. Parking is tough. It's at the MetLife building (nee PanAm building) right at Grand Central Station.

The Yale Club is an extraordinary place that offers a perfect blend of elegance, tradition, and modern comfort. The facilities are top-notch, from the well-appointed rooms to the fantastic dining options. The Rooftop Dining Room is a personal favorite, with stunning views and an impressive menu. The staff is incredibly professional and attentive, making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. It’s the ideal setting for both business and relaxation, with a range of amenities that cater to every need. The Yale Club truly embodies excellence—I highly recommend it to members and guests alike!

What a gem! We had a great experience here. The rooms are small, but it is New York City. I’ve stayed in many rooms similar in size throughout Europe. In fact, the hotel kind of had a European vibe. The location is great. Short distance to Times Square, close to the subway, lots of good eats. Staff are friendly and helpful. We would stay here again!

Service was amazing front desk super nice and attentive, great location, bed was comfortable and rooms were quite. The only thing that I didn’t like, even that the room was small it was still manageable, but the bathroom was so bad the door was horribly designed it was so hard to get in or out of the bathroom you had to almost get on top of the toilet to open that door. And no complementary water in the rooms, further than that I would totally recommend!

Great hotel right at NYC city center. All the staff are very welcoming and ready to help you. Although you don't have breakfast service, you can grab a bagel, grab a coffee, and go... For free. Don't expect the greatest of the views over Manhattan. I stayed in room 2105 and had a decent view. Not to the iconic places but is OK. Overall... Is great value for money.

We stayed at the Pestana CR7 Times Square hotel for 8 nights and it was a 10/10 experience! We had the balcony suite on the top floor, and it felt so special and luxurious. The view was incredible, and the room was super comfortable. You could request housekeeping through the afternoon, which was nice because we tend to sleep in. The staff was amazing—Colin at the front desk went above and beyond to make the trip unforgettable!! On my birthday, there was wine, balloons, and a handwritten card in my room. Thank u Pestana!!

I have stayed at this hotel many times and it’s amazing. It’s always clean, the beds are comfortable and the best part is the incredible staff. Victor G, George, Janelle, Emily and the team go above and beyond to be helpful and make every stay welcoming. They have a lot of amenities that make it easy on business trips like complimentary coffee, water and fruit in the lobby. It’s a great central location, convenient to the subway and safe for walking. I stay in a lot of hotels and I always stay here in NYC now because of the team. The place always has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like a special guest, which is really nice when you’re traveling!

Its always clean. I almost never had to wait for a machine, but it did tend to get crowded sometimes because it's a little small. Everyone that worked there was always nice and helpful. The locker rooms were nice and big with plenty of stalls and lockers. All in all its been a 10/10 experience.

I'll give 4 stars for now because I only went once after work. I will say that I felt very comfortable at this location. I went to the one in the heights and felt weird cause everyone was staring at me as I walked in. At this location the staff was friendly and helpful. It was clean and I love the layout and how easy it is to find everything. It wasn't packed and I got there at 9pm. I wish they were open later on Friday Saturday and Sunday because when I get off work I like to go since it's in the area but they will be closed already. Overall my first experience was pleasant and I'll keep going for sure.

I really enjoyed being a member here. The customer service was great and very attentive. This gym had a lot of different pieces of equipment and I felt that I did not have to wait at all for a certain machine to become available. Unfortunately I had to move and I did not want to continue my membership elsewhere but when I come back to NY I do plan coming back here. I loved the spacious bathroom and locker room. Very well put together as well as affordable plus accessible.

Staff are nice but management never fixed the machines, unfortunately seen this at all planet fitness locations. Lacking benches and treadmills/stair climber/other machines are out for several months and all thats said is they’re waiting on parts. Its clear the people that own this place do not actually care for maintaining it. Obviously not expecting anything amazing out of a budget gym, but this is just negligent.

I used to work there as a Personal Trainer. It's a beautiful gym and the staff is great. There's a "service oriented" philosophy as it should be for the price. Moist towels scent with eucalyptus and PT doubled as floor monitors during down time until your client list was full. That means the members and staff actually got to know each other very. There's complementary toiletries in the locker rooms and showers for members.

I visited this club and took a tour with my friend who was gifted a membership by her boss. I got a massage and the Therapist was above and beyond awesome! I actually asked her if she does in-home private services outside of Equinox because she was just THAT good. She gets 5-stars but regarding the gym itself, I was not impressed. Long wait for machines, classes seemed crowded and after my workout, there were no towels for me to use. Based on their prices, I'm surprised that it seemed more like a low-end facility rather than the luxury that I imagined would be associated with Equinox .

I registered for this gym in May 2023, but I've been experiencing technical issues with the app since day one. I can't log into my account to book any classes. I spoke with my account adviser, Caroline, who said she would need to involve the technical team to help resolve the issue. However, after a week, I still can't book a class through the app. I then called my account adviser to cancel my membership. The app indicates that my membership is canceled, but I'm still being charged month to month for the next 17 months. I called them today, and they said they can’t do anything about it, even though it's not my fault that I couldn't log into my account thus I had to cancel. The manager- Tang, said he can't do anything to help!

Stopped in for a quick smoothie, it was anything but quick. I don't think they were happy to be there or cared that i was there. Anyhow, took quite a while and charged a premium price. Will not be stopping in again.

===update === After 2 months of equinox promised this issue will be investigated, there was 0 communication, 0 follow-ups from Equinox other than promotion emails ========== I have been a dedicated member of Equinox, consistently enjoying the high-quality fitness classes and the community's mission. Unfortunately, a recent incident at the Columbus Circle location has compelled me to cancel my membership. The issue began when I placed my scooter in an area(hall way) as suggested by an assistant manager(see picture), which seemed to be a misunderstanding on the part of the general management. Last Saturday, the General Manager, Mr. Tang, took it upon himself to lock my scooter away without prior notice. When I questioned this action, he challenged the legitimacy of my earlier interaction with the assistant manager in a manner that I perceived as rude and mistrusting. This incident not only caused me inconvenience but also signaled a concerning lack of trust and respect towards members. What compounded my disappointment was the lack of any form of apology on locking up my properties or remedial action from the General Manager, despite being made aware of the situation and its impact on me as a member. Further, the response—or lack thereof—from the Equinox Concierge service did nothing to address the situation, leaving my concerns unacknowledged. The only reaction I got from concierge is: “We're sorry to hear you are leaving Equinox and we thank you for your time with us. If you would like to reinstate your membership, you may do so within 60 days of your cancellation date. This review is a difficult one to write, given that the coaching staff and classes at Equinox are exceptional. However, management's trust in and treatment of its members is equally important. I’ve been to many equinox clubs, and this Columbus circle club is the reason why I choose to leave. If you have a chance to try a different club/fitness place, please try it and don’t let anyone treat you as they do.

EDIT: The current manager did reach out and assured me they're working on fixing the lockers as well as on educating the gym goers to proper gym etiquette as well as asking staff to re-rack as well. They were very polite and accommodating, so I changed the review from 2 to 3 stars just based on my interaction with them ORIGINAL REVIEW: Do you like having to remove other people's plates ON EVERY plate-loaded machine you use? Do you spending ten-fifteen minutes in the lockerroom trying to find locker with a lock that actually works or that isn't already used? Do you like working out in a dark basement club where the lighting reminds you of a rave in Brooklyn and no windows to the exterior? Then this club is the perfect club for you! Come on over! Just remember don't touch those weights after you load up your machine! It's a problem for the next person!

As a fitness professional and as a professional bodybuilder I must say I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS GYM! Starting with the staff. I travel to NYC often and need to train at a gym that has it all. Every single time I would walk into TMPL it is always a pleasant experience. Smile, check in, purchase a pre workout and grab a sweat tile. Easy breezy. The lockers are my fave because you don’t need to bring a locker. It’s also fully equipped with towels, lotion, deodorant, steam room and plenty of showers. The workout floors are set up perfectly and while there is PLENTY of equipment (even at busy times) most people are super cool to have you jump in on a set. With that said, so many guys are super easy to chat with or ask for a spot. JOINING this gym is a no brainer whether you live in NYC or if you visit often. Also, they have the vegan protein shakes for post workout. Haha. It’s the little things! Thanks guys for making it such a great place to train, Shaun T

Solid gym. Has everything one needs for powerlifting training. Bars could use some nurling, the plates are adequate, and the benches are incredibly slick but it's all there. The branding is... Targeted.

Love TMPL Hell’s Kitchen and their staff, but especially my gym trainer Lucas! Lucas has trained me 3 times a week for the last 2 years, and I now I love working out so much more than I ever did! Highly recommend!

This is a great gym for serious lifters who want to be around other bodybuilding guys. The weekly rate was $150 which was pretty reasonable given all what you get (multi-location access). Definitely worth doing as a visitor (and perhaps as a full resident if I were one).

short: great location for people that love stairs and working out without air conditioning. The only reason I tolerate this poorly managed location is because Mitchell is an amazing dance instructor. long story: My dance buddy Sam recommended that I go to this location for Mitchell's dance class on Sundays. Mitchell is a character. I don't agree with everything he says, but overall, he seems to have unlimited energy. He is great at making any person at any dance level feel welcome and supported. It's been several consecutive Sundays that the air conditioner is not on, and Mitchell is not able to turn it on because the management locks him out of the controls. At least Mitchell cares, and we all suffer through it as a team. It's ridiculous for the amount Crunch charges to members to not let the class instructors turn on the air conditioning. My personal trainer is out of town for the holidays, so I signed up for the boxing class on Saturday. I even purchased hand wraps that are required. I could feel from the start of the class that the air conditioning was not on. I assumed it wouldn't be much cardio, so I thought I could tolerate it, but the class turned out to be much more cardio heavy than I expected. I asked the instructor if the air conditioning was off. Unlike Mitchell, he told me to go talk to the front desk if I have a problem with the ac, so I left the class. I stopped by the front desk and asked them why the air conditioner is off every Sunday. The guy told me that the only person that has access to it is the operations manager, and when that person is out, no one can turn it on. WTF kind of operation is this? Crunch has classes seven days a week. People are paying over $100 a month, and no one can get an air-conditioned class the days that person is off? The management's practices are unacceptable. This is not Planet Fitness or Blink. I only go and recommend the dance class with Mitchell. For anyone looking for great classes at Crunch I recommend the following: - Michael A - Chelsea - Mitchell - 54th - Adam - Chelsea

It is a good gym, quite organized and with good equipment. But it really bothers me a lot that on many occasions they play with people's time, on several occasions they always open up to 40 minutes later than the time they have planned. An example of today, Thursday, November 28, 2024, they said they would open at 7 am and I was outside for 40 minutes in the rain and cold waiting for them to open and in the end I had to leave. The worst of all is that I took the pre-workout and to my surprise the gym was closed.

People are complaining about the recent renovations, but they did give advanced notice (I got multiple emails for weeks leading up to it in addition to signage around the gym) and extended access to other locations in the meantime. My experiences here have been almost entirely positive. If you’re looking for a straightforward, clean, safe gym, this is all of those things. The cost kept me away for a while but I honestly think it’s worth it just for a reliable and clean location close to home.

Awesome gym. Was there on a Saturday, not crowded, three floors of equipment. A little bit disorganized though, but still a great place to workout. So far the best Crunch location I’ve been to

It’s ridiculously crowded at times and a lot of people sit on machines texting. Also at around 5 the same group of grown men yell loudly at each other across the gym. It would be fine if it was a $30 membership. It’s a rip off for the price. Go to another gym if you can.
