Best Gym near Albuquerque, New-mexico

Getting tired of having to demonstrate my intelligence to ignorance, when I only want to use my Paid, Black card membership. To exercise, like every other member in the gym and to be treated like a human. Yes, even when you don't think you will be caught, even his manager joined in to talk of (but not to me) then refused to speak to me, as I waited on camera for 15 min. When your behavior is addressed, you be professional and find a solution. Instead, Calvin wanted to make a 4 man war, against 1 petite black woman, by herself just reviewing. I held my composure to gather evidence, also I'm a very committed person, and this is my home gym. So I'll be back to talk to management tomorrow, and calling corporate because, he was brave enough to try to get me out of character and build a MOB. On camera? But we Pay your check. So, I'd clock out first, in my opinion, it's very messy mixing business with emotions. The gym always find the most insecure individuals, but on Coors.. they were on their grind. Maybe you guys should watch this gym more, there's a limit to disrespect, but to PAY for it. No thank you. Calvin and the manger Michael Demko. He made sure to give me his card, when he would come up . As if, it would excuse his behavior, because Michael is an assistant regional manager, who refuses to come to the front to speak to upset guests (Black) because they helped EVERYONE else. I will make sure to post the card, that I got when he refused to come up from Calvin. Along with the photo, I made sure he knew I took and the video, where he tried to recruit customers, to stop me from the Google review I finished outside.

They are chill, Clean and Polite. As an introverted individual, I don't feel overwhelmed or overstimulated, at this location. Even if I have a issue, I'm not afraid to ask for help and they're willing to help find a solution. Close mouths don't get fed, and we can't ready minds, yet. It's a Big part of my day, and great location for outdoor grinding too 🛹. Thanks guys.

I like to read reviews on different places I either want to try out or plan on becoming a member to. Unfortunately after the PETTY response to this Alice review that management posted, i will not join this location and also will not renew our 6 memberships for everyone in our home. Our home gym was at another location and we are all trying to figure a new gym after our move. People do have a say where their money is spent and another gym I suppose will get ours. They need to be professional and a manager should NOT antagonize a PAYING customer after the lady had back up evidence of these employees. If myself or my family have a concern is this how we would be treated? ✌️…On to read more gyms reviews to see where we land. Thx ALICE

Wonderful gym! Clean, machines are looked after and the staff are awesome. Vince the manger always has a big smile on his face and is either helping someone or personally cleaning the gym, the guy is a super star. I haven't memorized many of the other staff members names yet but Manny is awesome as well as the the guy that always wears the hat. Very hard working and friendly people, the guy is awesome but the staff really makes this a cool spot.

Lady in front blonde .needs an attitude adjustment an some customer service Training! Every gym I been to never had an issue til this gym. Never welcoming to anyone..never smile doesn't even say good morning anything. Not the only one..so many people tell me she's always like this! She stays sitting on her phone won't acknowledge u unless you actually need help God forbid smh. Doesn't clean bathroom..watched her see a stuffed toilet looked at it went to other stall..never cleaned. Always goes in just to stay on her phone.. The gym always 80 degrees in bathroom an gym..doesn't need to be a frickem.heater! Miserable to work put here..night crew is awesome an consistent welcoming everyone!

I enjoy my time with my trainer Carol. She makes it fun and I see a lot of progress in my core strength! Carol is kind and thoughtful and gets me through some tough training sessions. Thank you Carol for your help! I also want to give a shout out to the trainer Ashley. I saw her training a member. She was very kind and attentive to the member she was training. Carol and Ashely create a very positive vibe at the gym!

I arrived at 0545 and there were only 5 people there working out in the fitness room. Everyone wipes the equipment and generally has a good time.

This gym is awesome!! People are very cool and respectful!👍👏

People are nice when coming in and leaving and the machines and workouts stuff is nice no slamming weights just Pease and you can just workout

Phil (I believe his name was) was very helpful over the phone and had the best attitude ever! He helped me resolve the issue I had with payment. Besides this, this planet fitness is great the facility is clean and the people are kind!

I recently moved out of Albuquerque and needed to cancel my membership. When I called to do so, I was told that I had to send a physical letter explaining the reason for my cancellation. They informed me that email wasn't an option because they couldn't print it. Seriously??? Being on a trip with my family, the request for a physical letter was both frustrating and impractical. The whole process felt unnecessarily difficult and time-consuming. Very disappointed experience with this place. Don’t recommend it at all!!

They stopped being open 24 hours and the locker rooms are filled with homeless who use the location to shower. Most of the time I come in there is an obviously homeless person just hanging out in the locker room.

This one a little different than the others, in a good way. For example, the lighting is very dim, and a it's little smaller than the others, and I don't mind either, especially since I prefer as little light as possible and and since it's never too busy. it has all the equipment I need to get them gains 💪💪 also

I love this Planet Fitness location. It is the cleanest one I have ever gone to and the staff is friendly and attentive.

My mom and I enjoyed PF three early mornings a week. We utilized the 30 minute workout area. It met our needs (I am 65 my mom 83). We were excited to return after the new equipment was installed - imagine our dismay when we went to work out as usual and the 30 minute workout area was no longer! We inquired about the closure - we were told that not enough clients used that area - well goodbye planet fitness!

Great establishment. The staff here provides a lot of support, enthusiasm, and professionalism. Big shout to Kano for always having a great attitude & even giving input on my lifts.

I love working out here. They keep the place clean and their equipment is always in good condition. The staff is always very friendly. Definitely recommend.

I’ve been working with Blaire to create a custom workout that suits my needs. Not once did I feel uncomfortable or embarrassed about my weight or lack of skill in fitness. He helped me to feel motivated to keep up with this journey. Anyone that’s really struggling with getting started, this is absolutely the place for you!

Planet Fitness Eubank Albuquerque is Great! They have all the equipment that I use. I have lost 55 pounds since I started there.

I LOVE THIS GYM great machines and great energy best hack squat i have ever used. Real deal gym and nice cardio equipment. The only 2 problems i have is the chest fly and seated leg curl i wish they could go heavier but that’s a personal preference. Try out this gym it’s 100% worth it

The gym is an alright gym. It runs on swam coolers so it can get fairly muggy and there arent enough fans to circulate the air enough. It's also a little tight in terms of space. The equipment is right on top of each other so even if the gym isn't busy, if someone is working on the equipment next to you, they are only 2-3ft away from your workout space.

The place is way too cramped but worst of all I was actually made really uncomfortable by some of the other members who work out there. I’m just minding my own business and on 3 separate occasions I was actually made fun of by other members! Definitely not a friendly environment! Also they make you sign a contract, the billing is reoccurring and they don’t just cancel your membership if you don’t pay your dues they will actually send it to collections. Not sure if that’s standard for a gym but it caught me by surprise.

Good equipment, 24/7 access, clean, everyone friendly no matter the time. Owner is nice and I've had great customer service. Keep up the great work.

When I joined, I was told they're open 24/7. However, they're not staffed 24/7, and don't list the hours when staff is present so members can go when the doors will be unlocked and open. To have to buy a key to make sure I can get in doesn't seem very reasonable to me.

After having an absolutely horrible experience at another location just miles away, we were ECSTATIC to find this place. This is the kinda place you wanna pump it, tan it, relax it and shower it up. 1) Friendly staff. Always willing to lend helpful tips on the local area and always with smiles! 2) Relatively clean bathrooms. Definitely not a sorority house bathroom but certainly nothing like the bathroom at your gay friends house who has OCD. Picture a bathroom in a home with working parents and a kid or two. 3) Plenty of machines! 4) Tanning and massage here too. Not a ton of this equipment but definitely sufficient. Would use this location again if we return to the area!

Sarah is the best she is so helpful and kind she is fast and efficient and gets u the help u need to get what u need done and if u don’t understand how a machine works she will help u ♥️

I like this PF location. They have their equipment laid out in the perfect order for a great workout rotation. It’s never too crowded when I go on the weekdays lunchtime. Equipment is in good shape and it’s super clean. Bonus for black card members, they have unlimited tanning beds and stand up tanning. Hydro massage table and free haircuts.

The staff at this gym are always incredibly friendly and welcoming. This gym is always very clean and well taken care of.

Staff is always kind, greet you as soon as you come in. The gym is clean. Bathrooms and showers are clean. Kudos to staff they’re amazing

I've been taking my preschooler grandson to g-force. He is the only boy in a class with 5 to 6 girls. He is learning body awareness and social skills and following orders. He seems more focused here than the Ti Quan Do he was enrolled in. Instructors rotate so there is not much bonding, but the classes are working.

I went here for about a year and had a pretty great experience. The coaches were nice and helpful and the equipment was well kept. As far as classes go, they are on the priceyier but within reason, but competition is another story. At level 3 competition is required and was very expensive and ended up being the reason I had to quit.

Update: The last few times I've been to the gym everything has been much cleaner which I really appreciate. Thank you to the owner who took action right away to ensure the gym was cleaner on the weekends. Teachers are nice and my daughter enjoys the classes. But the actual gym and bathrooms are so dirty. Looks like the floors haven't been mopped in months and could use better seating for parents. Extremely uncomfortable watching your children for an hour or two on dirty bleachers. Would love if they at least mopped the floors and wiped things down with some Clorox wipes occasionally. .

This gym truly cares for their athletes and goes above and beyond to help them be successful! My daughter was struggling with a specific skill. The coaches gave tips and advise and she continued to struggle. One day a coach called her over and had her do a very specific strength drill. Within in one week of doing this specific drill, her 'troubled' skill had improved immensely! The coach was exclaiming "YES! YES! YES!" as she did the skill and the improvement was clearly visible. The coaches get just as excited and happy to see the athletes succeed as the athletes themselves. These coaches either researched or created a specific drill to correct a specific problem for one specific athlete. This is the level of commitment and dedication I see all levels in this gym!

We love G-force! We started my daughter when she was 3 in the preschool room. By 4.5 she was getting bored with it. Don’t get me wrong- it’s GREAT for beginners/fundamentals but it is 3-5year olds. They are kids and need a lot of redirection. My girl was very eager to start learning skills and was always very focused and motivated in class. I brought this up to the front desk & (I can never remember her name, I suck) the amazing lady who works up there didn’t hesitate to get ahold of the Advanced 5s coach. She had done classes with Emily & knew exactly what I was talking about. We did her evaluation and failed getting her hips over the bar. She busted her butt for 3 weeks and on her re-evaluation made it!! She was so stinking proud of herself and to say she absolutely ADORES her new coach is an understatement. We’re real people, with real lives, and some months our payments are a little late. They have NEVER made us feel bad about this, they have supported us anytime our family was hit by something (I went into emergency labor in another state and they didn’t hesitate to credit off the entire month) & they have ABSOLUTELY NEVER taken it out on my daughter. Despite some of the other reviews & us not being at competitive age yet; I do not feel like this gym is “money hungry”. They care about their athletes and are more than willing to see the true potential of every single person who walks into their gym. Emily got a ribbon today for climbing the rope! She’s still smiling. This is the gym you want if you want to instill values, hard work, & most importantly pride & joy into your little creatures! P.s.- we also did her 5th birthday party here and it was SUCH a memorable experience for everyone!! Nothing but smiling faces!!

This gym has been ridiculously hot. Multiple times I have gone in and just walked out because I know I can’t workout when it is 74-76 degrees. I have asked several times if they are gonna address this and haven’t seen a change. If you can workout in a hot environment, then go for it. I simply cannot. Other than that, the gym is clean and has the small gym feel. Never feel like it is too crowded.

The owner's response to my review is absolute garbage because he is a garbage person. I was a member of Anytime for years and quit my membership after my terrible experience with this particular club. As a result of poor management here, I will never return to Anytime Fitness again for any reason.

They closed the bathroom so I wouldn’t shower after my workouts now I can’t even use the bathroom to pee canceling my membership the gym here is too small anyway equipment is very limited.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this gym. My membership was abruptly terminated due to an alleged violation of rules, even though I made sure to follow all of the gym's guidelines. To make matters worse, when I inquired about the reason behind the termination, I was met with zero clarity or explanation. On top of that, during my interactions with staff, I was cussed at by one worker and then had a manager raise their voice at me in an unprofessional manner. This type of treatment is completely unacceptable, especially when I was only seeking an explanation about my membership. I’ve never encountered such poor customer service, and the lack of communication and respect is beyond frustrating. I strongly urge management to improve their communication and professionalism—this experience has made me feel completely disregarded as a customer. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this gym and I will be taking my business elsewhere!!

Great small gym with all the right equipment. I really like working out at Powerflex.

This is a great gym with good equipment. It would be nice to have more towels with which to clean equipment. It is gross having to touch the soaked towels and defeats the purpose of having them there when they are saturated. For all the current patrons, if you are not using a machine, move away from it. It's very inconsiderate to lounge on it with friends when others are waiting.

I just listened to my granddaughter expressing frustration because she is subject to $25 a month payments to this gym for two years although she isn't going to it. I read most of these reviews and see many complaints of the same, and the remarks from the ownership in that regard. I also read very positive reviews of the cleanliness, staff, equipment, convenience, etc., many rating 5 stars. So with respect to both I'm pitching 3 stars on behalf of my granddaughter because she won't offer a review. She doesn't want to participate in social influence, I suppose best states her rationale. I'm proud of her. Me on the other hand, I think something needs to be said. I've been in professional business all of my life and am retired now. I can't understand justification of a business that thrives on the unknowing commitment of young people for any reason except opportunism. She said she was told it's in the contract. She said she joined online. Apparently she clicked on the link that everyone online tends to click on in acceptance of all the terms and conditions. Now she did move from home, but not the 25 mile requirement. But she said she incerely found the gym not to be what she expected as the deeper reason she doesnt go. It just wasn't for her. So when trying to cancel, the message she got back is that she has to pay until the end of her term, October 2025, but won't be automatically renewed. $25 a month doesn't sound like a lot but to young lady working and going to school it is. I don't see any wisdom in this business move at all and it really grieves my heart. I would never recommend this business to anyone. Any business with a sense of fairness and integrity would never render payment for unwanted goods or services. If the business really is that good, it would thrive on those that need and use it for that reason. As Moses said, "Let my people go." If indeed you are better than that.

I went to this gym and broke out in hives. The smell is terrible. I went to my allergist and he asked if I was exposed to any new cleaning products or detergents. I couldn’t think of any and then remembered the terrible smell at the gym. I reached out to the owner to ask which products they used and he assured me it was “all natural”. After speaking with other people, I learned that it’s Fabuloso. Fabuloso is horrible for respiratory health in and can cause issues as well as allergic reactions. It’s also not suitable as an antibacterial or antiviral. I’ve talked to other gym members and they had to stop going because of the smell. It’s so strong that it sticks to your clothes. Please consider using a scent sensitive product that also kills germs 🙏

Traveling from Australia to visit friends in NM I was so happy to find Designer Bodies in Corrales. "World Class Gym" is exactly right - incredible setup with all the very best equipment. Am incredibly thankful to Dwain and his team for being so welcoming. Thank you!

Great gym! Never crowded or hot on the inside. Lots of unique and fun machines to use, that I've never seen at any other gym. And the bathroom and shower room are always very clean.

The best gym I have been to in Albuquerque by far. Designer Bodies has it all! Awesome equipment, the best staff, and a family friendly environment. They don’t give prices over the phone, but membership is very reasonable if you want the best equipment/weight lifting facility and an encouraging environment for any fitness level. This gym is worth checking out

This gym has been a game changer in my life! Dwain’s nutrition program and approach to exercise facilitated a net loss of 30lb of body fat over a 4 month period during my program. Due to family obligations I have been out of the gym for the last 3.5 months, however I have been successful at maintaining the lifestyle and weight lost during my absence from the gym. I am excited to be back in town and able to resume training regularly. Oh by the way, I am 70 years of age and highly recommend Dwain’s expertise and Designer Bodies ‘World Class Gym’ to anyone my age who wants to regain quality of life and age gracefully.

I would give this facility zero stars if I could. The general manager is one of the worst and most unprofessional individuals I have ever come across. Not surprising, considering that he is not qualified for the position whatsoever, and is just one of their top earning fitness trainers. Not only is the facility extremely dirty and my husband contracted shingles virus, it's basically impossible to get through to the HR office seen as how their message machine is full and they never return phone calls or even answer the phone. Please don't waste your time on any complaints to the manager as he will suspend your account for no reason and you have to spend the next week trying to get it reinstated with an HR company that doesn't answer their phone. I would never recommend this gym to anybody! Please spend your money elsewhere.

Here’s the thing. If you have In-Body machines at any of your gyms, how about this company get some management that actually comes up with new ideas to help its members and to bring in profits. Stop using the InBody machine at whatever locations that you have them, to try to lure people into Personal Training packages. Put a five or $10 price on the assessment and the printout and let your members come in to see where they are. It Is absolutely ridiculous to just have a member who is a paying member have to schedule a session with a personal trainer Just to get a body assessment of where they are from the InBody. A member should just be able to call and schedule a time where they can come in and a trainer or an employee can use the InBody machine on them and give them their printout and they pay a fee for it if it’s really about the ink in the paper. Gym management and fitness managers these days or something else. This is not rocket science. So somebody thought it was a great idea to have this Available only every Friday in the month of January Again to try to lure people into Personal Training. Just make the service available to all of your members to use when they need to or put a fee on it. It is the height of stupidity that a gym member has to call All Around to find someone to take 10 minutes to come in and get their body measurements. Why are you paying people all this money to sit on their ass and not come up with ideas to innovate and to help out the members?

Love this gym but only problem I had was with this tall dude Drives a big truck with construction company stickers always parks in the front walks around with a limp socializing and hogging up 3 machines went and took one of them and he tried to step up and say he was using it that's super annoying, I don't know if staff allows this but dude definitely needs to be educated on gym rules and respect for other gym members or have his membership revoked. Some people are actually trying to exercise get in and out no socialize.

Absolutely terrible. I will be telling everyone I meet that Defined Fitness are a bunch of scammers. I am out of state and can’t cancel my membership. I am told that I must come in in-person to cancel (yet somehow I can renew my contract and make a payment over the phone). Tomorrow is the 24th of December so they are going to try and charge me for January if I don’t cancel by then, even though I’ve given them no less than three written notices. This is unacceptable and it feels very scammy. Just let me cancel my membership!!!!

This defined fitness is smaller than the one Juan Tabo, but it's much much cleaner.
