If you just want to boulder ABP is the best gym in austin. They have two great locations with friendly staff and all the equipment you could ever need. Both locations are huge and selecting a problem won't be an issue. The sets are varied and have plenty of problems for casual or beginner climbers and plenty of tough stuff too. Their weight rooms are large and fully equipped. TLDR If you don't plan on rope climbing and you live in south or Central Austin ABP is the place to go.

The most welcoming gym with excellent route setters. I love that they design complex routes for all levels and all heights. Also, it’s very clean and they have everything you could think of for your workout.

intended to only come for bouldering one afternoon. i read that there was a good variety of problems for beginner-intermediate climbers and i found that to be true. nice space and everyone seemed friendly. as i was stretching to cool down, i also found out there was a yoga class happening soon. my entry fee included classes so i thought, "why not?" and really enjoyed the class. would recommend for the bouldering, classes, and the gym/fitness area which looked well-equipped.

Incredible climbing gym, weightlifting, and yoga facility. The routes are reset frequently and the staff is friendly. Normally way less crowded than the Springdale location, except during kids’ evening classes. Very community-oriented—we see lots of friendly faces anytime we come in. Definitely good people and vibes. The staff is constantly updating and adding equipment in response to feedback. The weight room is the most female-friendly I’ve ever been in. My partner and I just moved to Seattle, and SBP does not compare. We miss ABP Westgate so much!

Really enjoyed my visit to this bouldering only gym. The quality of the holds and route setting is very good. The walls have good texture, and it was easy for me to find climbs at my grade level. The staff was very friendly. I was traveling and forgot my shoes, and I was able to buy my favorite shoe in my size, which was amazing. A good crowd showed up around 5pm, I found it easy to make friends. There were climbers of all skill levels. There were styles of holds I had never seen before, so that was a treat. Amenities seem plentiful, there were nice showers and locker rooms, plenty of cubbies and water fountains around. Very impressed, wish I lived nearby! Would visit again next time in in town.
