The main problem is the hours: they are, on average, open 17 hours a day. On the weekends they close at 8 p.m. And because of that, the place is packed almost all the time. I would gladly come at midnight, and help space out the crowds, but they refuse to pay one person to work (really you just have to sit there) to cover the overnight shift. I'm sure they bring in over $300,000 a month in revenue—they can pay one more employee to have the hours that their name implies. The Planet Fitness a few hundred yards from them is open 24 hours on weekdays. Other critiques: It's loud. There's always some douche dropping the weight stack on the lat pulldown or triceps extension machine. There are also lots of members who come in steeped in cologne or perfume and smell so strong you taste it in your mouth. And most people are addicted to using the sanitizing spray, as if coating the benches and bikes in cleaning residue and breathing cleaning fumes is somehow improving things. Just use a dry paper towel. On the bright side parking is easy.

By far the grossest gym I've ever been to, will not be renewing my membership. There are ants on the water fountains. Floors are covered in years of dust/dirt buildup (despite a cleaning crew seemingly being present once a week) - if you do a pushup anywhere there's a good chance you'll get a dirt mark on your shirt and inhale dust or hair. I've never seen an employee wiping down equipment. Locker room is disgusting. Overall just an incredibly neglected space.

5 month update, the vents in this place still have not been cleaned. Cancelling membership this month. World’s grossest gym. Um… you guys make SO MUCH PROFIT off of your members. You’re in Murray Hill… can we update the century old equipment and clean the air vents!? The location of this gym is its only saving grace and I keep noticing new ways this gym is disgusting. The pile up of dust in these pics… says so much. The showers, the sauna and the stretching areas are so filthy. Please do better… soon.

Wish I could give 0 stars, but was forced to select 1. This gym deserves absolutely 0 stars. SUCH A GROSS GYM. I've never seen such absolute filth in all my life. Every time I walk in, I want to immediately walk back out. Globs of hair everywhere, trash in hallways, mold, dirt, etc. Always. You can literally recognize the trash from one day to the next because it appears this gym literally never ever gets cleaned. Also for comparison, I've been a member of 4 other gyms in my life, and they all seem like country clubs compared to this joke of a "gym".

I swim here daily and love that there is a full length pool. However, they don’t employ a cleaner full time and the locker room and pool area are arguably a health hazard. I’ve swam all over Portland including public pools, LAs, other 24s including downtown, and this is unequivocally the most unsanitary place out of all of them. The downtown 24 is a magnitude cleaner as well as the Tualatin HIGH SCHOOL. I’m surprised they haven’t been shut down, but the convenience is great for swimmers.
