SBH Healthplex Fitness Center

It's been awhile since this facility has opened and it is quite refreshing to see that the pleasantry of the staff has remained at the same level, punctuality of the trainers is stunning, cleanliness is always great. What more can I tell you, go and see for yourselves. 😃😃

Amazing gym. Incredibly quiet during rush hours and the community of people get straight to it with no extra drama or bullshit. The staff is also very friendly and welcoming. The director is amazing too!

Not very flexible for a facility that doesn’t offer much. I get multiple emails a week that classes they advertise for are cancelled. They don’t allow guests…for 35 dollars a month I would have at least thought that would be offered. I went in to cancel and instead of just immediately canceling that month they bill you for the next month and then cancel…They have limited hours, and they don’t even have student discounts. I ended up signing up with xsport fitness. As a community member who lives there. I was under the impression that they were primarily there for the benefit of residents they share the building with but I barely observe folks from the community there. Just the white folks who work at the hospital. So it makes sense they would be less flexible for the community. It would have been super convenient to have a gym directly around the corner from me but not interested in limited services from a health center who’s advertising that they are here for the community. The funny thing is I have attempted to have my neighbors come with me so they can get an idea what the facility was like, but their rigid guest policy prevents community members from doing that organically. I don’t see that place being a community resource until they start being more flexible with the community members.

Great location, very convenient for me just a few blocks away from home. Lack of equipment is noticeable. For $35 I guess I’m just paying more for less of a commute, other gyms offer guest access and way more equipments for less money. No student nor resident discounts.

So happy they put a gym in this healthplex! It has every piece of equipment you’ll need to get in a good workout. Gym is always clean, staff is extremely helpful, knowledgeable and nicest Its also never crowded! They also offer classes with your membership! There’s locker rooms and you can use the rooms the classes are held in when not in use. Absolutely worth the monthly price for me just off convenience alone! Awesome gym !
