Very convenient. Cordial staff. Updated machines. Superb Black Card Spa. It is in Chinatown though, if you live in DC you know what that means. If you're from out of town, prepare for impromptu live entertainment. The members are great people that really focus on their workout. This is one Planet Fitness where the members actually USE the equipment they pick up.

Do not buy a membership at this location as this business is unethical and will try to steal your money in any way. I spent close to a year trying to close my account and was charged close to $400 on two separate false charges. I made my account in February and called to close my account a few months later because I was going abroad. The employee confirmed my account was closed. A few months later when I realized my account was still active and I was being charged, I called to cancel and they refused. I asked for my account number to transfer and they again refused or would give me the wrong number. At this point, they knew I was in another city so they kept insisting I had to travel 4 hours to come in and cancel (I had the premium membership so all I needed was the number to transfer). I was sick of this and cut their use on my account and was soon after charged a lump sum of $179.92 on my credit card. I disputed the charge, but the money still went through. I called the gym in January and just desperately asked them to close my account and the owner demanded I pay again as they received no money. I believed the owner and paid again only to realize that the money had left my account two separate times. Since then, I've called several times and employees have confirmed receiving both payments, but they refuse to refund me. The manager won't even bother helping me or refunding me. The greed will end up ruining this place. Please be cautious of what places you make an account at and also where you give your banking information. Not worth the time, effort, and financial drain. Also, they kept denying they can't close an account over the phone, but the manager was able to one he got $400 out of me?

I recently joined Planet Fitness and I am extremely impressed with my experience thus far. The membership process was quick, easy, and efficient. The gym itself is extremely clean and well-maintained, and the vast space makes it easy to move around and get a workout in without feeling crowded. Additionally, the cleanliness of the gym is much better than other gyms I have visited, such as Vida Fitness. The best part is the price of Planet Fitness is very affordable compared to other gyms. They have branches worldwide which is great. Overall, I highly recommend Planet Fitness to anyone looking for a great gym at an affordable price.

I come to this club and I'm pretty satisfied with it, although it does have a couple of major cons (hence 3 stars, not 5): PROS: 1. Low cost of membership. In that respect, no other gym can compete with them. 2. Good location of this particular club. It's right at the Gallery Place metro, as soon as you come up the escalator. Not a very safe or clean neighborhood, but you don't have to walk more than 5 steps from the metro to enter the gym. 3. The equipment is new and there's lots of it, and the showers are better than in many other gyms. You have to bring your own towel and toiletries, but I suppose that's how they are able to afford such low monthly fees. CONS: - They don't have fitness coaches on sight. Their monthly membership explicitly includes the perk of being able to get assistance and coaching. But this location doesn't have any. I think they should give discounted monthly fees for locations that aren't able to provide all of the features as advertised. - Way too much space is given to elliptical equipment and treadmills and not enough for strength-building equipment. There are four Smith machines, and they are always in use, so there is wait time. There isn't a single squat rack at this location, so people are using Smith machines as squat racks (which is arguably dangerous as it doesn't allow freedom of movement and can lead to injuries). But then there are so many treadmills, and they take an enormous amount of space but I've never seen more than a quarter of them in use at once. Usually, most of them are empty. People don't come to the gym to jog if they can jog outside. They come to the gym to use equipment they don't have at home. So it would be great if this location could get rid of half of their treadmills and put some squat racks and a couple more Smith machines there instead. Update: The club owner responded to my reply, which is always appreciated. However, the suggestion made to me was to check my home club schedule of free classes on the website. Well, when I do, I get an empty page with an error message saying, "It appears your club has not set up an online schedule. Please check with staff members at your club to learn more about training sessions offered near you." And, last I checked with the associates on-site, they don't have any classes at this location. This, unfortunately, reinforces my earlier point: if you can't provide everything that is advertised as included in the package, then perhaps there should be a discount.

I wanted to update my review, after leaving a previous review and receiving a response from the owner who claimed they would address the issue, I reached out to the email the suggested to contact for help with the incident. I reported being harassed and disrespected by employees and Lauren(not the owner) response we are sorry that you feel that way, complete negligence when it comes to safety. Please be aware that although it says harassment isn’t tolerated in planet fitness actually it is and it is not taken seriously, nor is aggressive behavior towards members (7th street location) worst experience I’ve had after having multiple experiences at several planet fitness
