In A Nutshell: -Up Dog was a nice yoga studio I got to practice at while passing through D.C. -The staff were extremely kind. -As a first timer at their studio you can rent a mat for free, perfect for travelers w/out a mat. -The 60 minute power vinyasa flow class was really challenging & I felt bad for the yoga mat afterwards since I turned it into a small pond of sweat. -The class size was perfect & you are facing each other in two horizontal rows while you practice. Overall, I really enjoyed the instructor, the cleaniness of the studio & of course the non-judgemental vibe of fellow yogis!

Charlie (the owner of the studio) has led two Incredible virtual yoga classes for our tech company. My team has nothing but high praise to share about her. I would highly recommend any of her classes!

Over really nice and clean studio. Loved the temperature of the room and the flow of the class. My advice to the studio - look at traffic flow patterns and rearrange the layout outside the rooms. The check- in desk should be in the front, so people aren’t walking through the seating area to get to it. The back zone could then have the main area for people to leave their things. It is really hard to go and leave the classes with the bag drop in the narrow hallway. If the narrow hall was for permanent yoga mat storage and extra spill over coats that would make sense, but right now it is unorganized and not relaxing to come and go from the space.

UDYC is an amazing space to practice yoga, grow, and build community. I’ve been practicing at the studio since it opened, and I’ve yet to find a spot in the DC area that’s as welcoming as UDYC. The space is relaxing, clean, and full of nice amenities (e.g., coffee/tea, hygiene products, shower, water of all temps). The instructors each have their own, unique style, but they all take a genuine interest in getting to know both new and familiar students. I always recommend UDYC to people looking to try hot yoga, especially since the classes are around 80-85 degrees vs. 90+.
