LA Fitness

The men's sauna is broken and will likely be broken and "scheduled for maintenance" for several months as it was last year. I was advised to contact their management becuase LA Fitness has a strict requirement to hire only one specific electrician who is based in California. I find that hard to accept as a reality. To add, I walked past at least 5 nonfunctional treadmills today. On the regular I've found broken equipment stay unfixed for weeks at a time. Earlier this year the lights were broken for two weeks in the bathrooms which was very troubling and deeply troubling for their customer's health and safety. On the positive side the staff at this gym are very friendly and it's not very crowded. If you want a working sauna, clean safe bathrooms, working equipment you are better off going to the locations in Norwalk and Port Chester because apparently LA Fitness HQ is not giving the Stamford location the maintenance it's customers deserve. Management, please respond by fixing the equipment, the sauna and by enhancing your cleanliness operation. Don't promise, follow through with execution of your mission and do it well!

This gym is awful. Used to be a member before COVID, now years later I came back and you'd think they would have updated any piece of equipment... Surprise, everything is the same and still very old. The culture and gym etiquette is terrible. No one has respect for putting the weights back and keeping it somewhat organized. The free weight area is a nightmare. Many machines break and are down for a long time, and the entire place is filthy. They have a lot of machines to choose from, which is good, but it's usually very packed, so good luck. Their barbell rack is laughable at best and they do not have enough equipment for the cable machines. The only thing good is that the men's room has a new sauna... But that's because the old one burned down and they had to repair it, otherwise it'd be outdated. The staff is friendly, so there's that.

Dessire, one of the managers, helped me today, and she was fantastic. Very friendly from start to finish!! She worked with me on getting the best deal/plan that fit me and my wife's needs. You can tell she has a vested interest in the company, but more importantly, the customers. The set up process was very thorough, and the app is a great outlet to make things easier to manage our account and check in. We are looking forward to checking out the facilities in full.

Dessire was nothing short of accommodating, pleasant, and made my experience of signing up to LA totally hassle free! She was gracious, personable, friendly, and her smile 😍!! I can go on! I should have signed up sooner honestly! The facility has a pool, sauna, and an assortment of workout equipment that fits all needs. Large enough of a space where it doesn’t feel too crowded! I’ll definitely refer friends and family her way to give them the same experience!

I signed up today with Desiree and she was amazing! She explained all membership options and even advised me about a good promotion going on. We had some technical issues during the sign up but we were able to make jokes about it because technology sucks. Lol. I can’t wait to start!
