Best Gym near Mesquite, Texas

Parking not adequate. There is no room to park. The equipment massage chairs just like the logo outside is ancient. They only give you 1 5minute coin per sit time to relax in old ancient chair. How can you relax when 5 minutes is up in a blink of an eye???! Go to another pf there are wayyy better ones to have a membership.

Music is ridiculously loud- can’t even listen to your own music because it’s blaring so loudly and drowns yours out. Some of the people who work the desk are outside or flirting with members more than they’re available. It’s nothing to stand there for 5-10 min before someone finally shows up. EDITED TO ADD: Whoever is responding to these reviews should be sharing them with management. Management isn't around at night, which is when all of this stuff happens.

Sonnie and Jackie were kind enough to help when I dropped my AirPod inside the stair master. They did everything in their power to get it out! Definitely some good people you guys have here.

Everything you need for a great workout. Even when busy, there’s still room on the machines. Wrights can be a harder to get to but they recently added more to help address that problem

I went here yesterday morning for an early Saturday morning workout from 6 to 8 am with a friend. Someone broke into my truck and multiple other vehicles while inside the gym. I found out from talking to several other people this is a problem here. Beware, this shopping center has no security. Take a break and go check on your vehicle. To PF, if the break-ins keep happening people will start to go somewhere else. Do something...

I enjoy going but now with Covid I'm more cautious. Some days when I go it looks like it hasn't been cleaned and they've been out of hand sanitizer. Social distancing is practiced and they're app is very helpful. 05/28/2022-They need to do better about their cleaning and the mats definitely need to be replaced. 01/03/2023- I'm super excited to see the new upgraded equipment and they also replaced the mats. 👍 02/20/2023-The staff is polite and welcoming. I love the new equipment. I usually check the app's Crowd Meter to see if there busy. They do have training sessions, but they don't have a trainer right now👍👍 ***Late post Dec.12,2024- Planet fitness has NEW equipment!!! The new set up is awesome. I'm gonna try to do better and go more often. You gotta go check them out!!! 👍👍💜 I had to give them an extra star ⭐

Awesome convenient neighborhood gym. Late night workouts are quiet peacefull and clean! Love the buddy pass at Planet Fitness and wish they had a suana/whirlpool etc

Updated review: This place is even worse then the last time I did this review. They've had the roof leaking and pipes leaking now. No telling how much black mold is growing and we're inhaling. I've asked like 6 times when they are even going to fix the big clock on the wall which has been wrong since the power outage back in February. I think this may be my last time in the gym since even the managers don't fix stuff you bring to their attention. Attaching mire pics. You tell me if this is the kind of gym you want to pay a monthly fee for. This used to be a nice Planet Fitness to go to. Changing my review because things in the gym stay broken or need repaired for months on end. Case in point, the water fountain has been broken for 4 months. Why are we getting charged a maintenance fee every year? They tell you to social distance but the worked don't follow it. There will be 3 to 5 people at the counter on their phone when things in the gym need taking care of.

Place is alright overall. Needs improvement with the locker rooms: the showers and sinks aren't regularly cleaned and restocked with soap like they should be. I've had to ask on a couple of occasions for soap for the showers. 11/30/24 there was a bunch of hair in a couple of the showers, came back 24 hours later and it was still there. The sink countertop is always covered in water puddles.

I have been a member for a few years now and I regret not signing up sooner. Have tried multiple gyms and the atmosphere is to my preference here. Great, well maintained equipment and the other members do a great job of doing their part in keeping it that way.

Amazing place! Plenty of room to work and never over crowded. The clients are here to do their routines instead of TikTok, and that's one reason I love it. CC (manager) is fantastic and the sweetest person ever. 10/10 would recommend.

I really love this gym. In the last year I haven't had a chance to make it in as much as I've liked but over the years I love the new equipment that was brought in and how the staff continues to maintain the cleanliness.. Great atmosphere.. 5 stars from me...

Cynthia gave such a great first impression! The gym was clean and not packed at all! Everything was in order and nice even with people there, would recommend if you need a new and quiet gym space !

Been coming here since I moved to Mesquite a couple years ago. I like it plenty of free weights and machines to get your workout in. Cynthia in the front is Amazing and does such a wonderful job at addressing problems if they come up. She’s such a great person to see when stoping by. I definitely recommend if you’re looking for a nice gym to join.

Great ambient ! Shakes and teas are the BEST ! You wont find flavor like theirs anywhere else! Everyone makes you feel like family! Kid friendly and kid safe food! From the youngest to the oldest everyone can have the shakes the teas the snacks! Dont forget to join them in the morning for your workout and breakfeast !

Had a tea and protein shake - great business. Customer service was helpful and friendly. Drinks looked beautiful and tasted great. All of it was low calorie so no guilty feelings afterwords. The protein shake had around 30+ grams of protein and the tea rehydrated me and gave me a mid day boost to carry on at work. If you’re local or traveling through Mesquite , swing by and give this place a try. You won’t regret Had the Bob Marley Tea and the Ore-Oh protein shake

Great experience from beginning to end. Genaro was so nice and considerate. First time I've ever rented a hall or ballroom and he made it so easy and smooth and and answered every question and concern I had. I had the best party ever and I would definitely rent them again for another occasion!!!

The Boom Ballroom is the perfect venue for 80 guests. The sound system and lighting were perfect. I really enjoyed having my reception there. The owners were awesome and the price was very reasonable! Loved it so much!!

I rarely make any review. But I was amazed and taken aback when I walked in and signed up to fitness connection. Specifically a member on the team! Chad was so helpful! I came in worried that they would treat me like other gyms. But I was wrong they were so friendly and had a great attitude. I was happy with Chad and his positive attitude to help us.

Christina at the Mesquite location is awesome! So energetic and had answers for all of my fitness and wellness questions. She also made sure the staff had everything they needed during our interaction without taking from the experience. Highly recommend!!!

Highly recommended Grunt Fitness if you’re looking for a supportive group workout setting. I’ve been a member since 2021, Teresa & Mikey are great coaches adjusting your workout depending on your ability, it’s great to still be able to attend classes at 33 weeks pregnant.

I highly recommend Grunt Fitness. Coaches are amazing and the environment is everything! I’ve been a member since 2021, from a girl who never worked out, struggled with anxiety and depression, and zero confidence after 3 babies to feeling strong, confident, and healthy. Teresa and Mikey are always so helpful to get the exercise movements right, correcting our form and also cheering us on and pushing us to do what we don’t think we’re capable of. Not just in the gym, but also there for us emotionally. Joining Grunt Fitness was a life changer.

They have created a beautiful community and are always incorporating extra activities outside the gym. We just did a 5k/10k and it was such a fun experience. It's a good gym and the college has put in new scoreboards and is working on new sound system. The staff are very helpful.

The gym is dirty and the equipment does not seem to be properly maintained. The staff are nice and always doing something. The facility is old and needs some improvement to attract more customers. The ceilings are full of dust and needs cleaning. The bathrooms needs major cleaning inside. I’m concerned of touching the floors without shoes

We joined over 2 weeks ago. I shared my concerns with how FILTHY the women's showers were with the manager. He said he was having a cleaner come in to clean. I went in 2 more separate times and walked into showers only to find the same hair piles, trash, and just filth. THE FAMILY SHOWER ROOMS LOOK AS IF THEY HAVEN'T BEEN CLEANED IN MONTHS!!! I asked the girl at front desk to have manager call me because I didn't want to be a member anymore because of how DISGUSTING the gym was, not to mention that Saturday the whirl pool and steam room weren't working and the Tuesday before the water was freezing during water aerobics!!! Also there is sand like stuff all in the bottom of the whirl pool which staff said is from filter. There was a guy who is knowledgeable in pools that walked over to whirlpool and said yeah that happens when filter is used to long. I got out!! Well He never called!!!! So I decided to check out Richardson location and I will be going there from now on. I will still go to water aerobics on Saturday at Mesquite Location because I love Ms. Elaine!!! SHE IS A GREAT INSTRUCTOR! BUT THERE IS NO WAY I AM SHOWERING THERE, I AM NOT TRYING TO CATCH A DISEASE! SO DISAPPOINTING!!! M y husband used to be a member when it was The Q and did side security there years ago and it was a great location then but not NOW.

The facility is large but needs a major update. Quite deciving looks nice outside but old iand dirty inside. Machines are old and worn. 24 hour fitness is shaming their name with the facility. I was looking to change gyms from a large competier since this is a easier commute but for an increase in fees for an unkept facility. I'll continue to drive further for a better cleaner experience. I really had better expectations from 24 hour fitness. 24 corporate need to update this facility ASAP. Definitely not the staffs fault but can see how they struggle with memberships. On the plus side the staff was very friendly and wifi worked with no issues. That's the extra star.

Very mismanaged. The little girls in the front keeping flirting with my son. He didn’t like it at all. We love working out but definitely going to work on a in home gym. And ran out of sanitizer to clean the machines and them and they couldn’t help, just keep flirting. smh

The details I have are the same already listed by other members below my review. You just do not want to listen or apply any change but you want to get the money every month. This location is just disgusting. If you go to the one in McKinney, the gym is very clean and machines are up to date. Nothing changed here for the past years, we should get a discount on our membership when amenities are not working or not existing anymore (Outside pool closed, sauna always dirty, I don't even want to talk about the leaking toilets, toilet seats, stair master dangerous or not working ...). The list IS LONG ! Stop saying you trying to improve because you are not. I can't remember last time I saw someone cleaning this gym, I truly believe that you have no cleaning crew.

I've been a member even before they were acquired by RetroFitness(since 2019), and unfortunately, the service here has gone down terribly. I originally joined for the group classes, but their instructors barely show up to class if they show up at all, and no one communicates with us. Their floors are dirty and disgusting. Honestly, I haven't seen a single person clean this room, and you can tell. Management is non-existent and even after letting them know what's going wrong, nothing has changed, hence why I'm writing my review. Save your money and go elsewhere.

The gym is pretty decent. As someone who prefers to workout in the early mornings, the lights out front has been broken since at least April/May. I’ve asked several times when they would be repaired and I’m always given the same response of “By the end of this week”. It’s been 5-6 months of the same response. It’s an extreme safety concern and I’m considering moving gyms as I’m tired of parking in a dark parking lot and not being able to see anything.

The equipment is in good condition. However, with regards to the staff, they do more socializing with each other than making themselves available to the members. The only employee who seems to care about the condition of the gym is this older gentleman, an African American, who wears a ponytail. He cleans consistently, and he's always available to assist when needed. He knows how the machines work. (I've asked a couple of other employees for assistance with a machine; they had no clue how it worked). Finally, when attending a class, members should not have to workout in a room full of junk (photos attached).

I visited this place interested in a membership, I waited a bit to be helped but , they were busy, this is a new place, under construction. Young lady who helped me was very polite , not pushy , and explained the floor very well , I was shopping around . I did not sign a membership but, I might . It was very clean and did not smell like a musty gym . They offer daily offer classes.

Whatever you do, avoid this place. I had a membership when it was YouFit, and it closed during COVID. I received a bill today since apparently, Retro Fit purchased the gym. Then, they decided to start charging people for memberships for a gym they didn't join. I received a bill for past due payments to a gym I didn't sign up for, which had closed. I called to have the situation addressed, and apparently, an e-mail was sent out. An e-mail I never received or potentially went into spam because my e-mail didn't recognize Retro Fit because I never joined. When speaking to the person at the gym, she hung up the phone on me. She wasn't letting me get a word in, so I started to talk louder, and she hung up. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. There are plenty of great gyms in Dallas and Mesquite.

Great coaches. The team at this location was very pleasant and always helpful. The workouts are great for increasing cardiovascular fitness and maintaining functional strength.

Coming to this place has changed my life completely. I can’t thank enough coaches Christy and Kat for teaching me the right way to exercise and for being so patient with me. They’re great as well as the front staff service members. And the members are really nice too. Overall I’ve had a great experience coming to this place and the atmosphere is so cheerful. Always great music playing on 🩷

OMG I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY DON'T RECOMMEND THIS GYM. I went to inquire what the gym has too offer spoke the some young female glasses, pimples everywhere didn't bother to property introduce self NASTY NASTY ATTITUDE. This is a rip off $169 a month plus deposit to woke out unlimited I'm sure there's a contract. For $69 you can work out 2-3 times a week for 1hr that's ridiculous. When questioned the pricing and the timing the female started getting an attitude, I visited 2 other gyms earlier in the day $25 no contract unlimited Fitness Connection. I'm sure retro fitness offers good deal as well. The nasty attitude did it for me, AND THERE WAS NOBODY THERE WORKING OUT GO FIGURE UHMMM

I would recommend these fitness classes. You can purchase a membership online and register for classes online or through the app. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. You can also use the fitness classes throughout the United States, which is a big bonus if you travel and want to be able to work out when traveling. You have access to fitness around the United States.

Great workout environment that helps push you to reach the goals you are striving for. This isn't just another commercial gym that is always packed or with broken machines, but a great group training studio that is very clean as well

Tristan loves working out at D1. He loves the coaches and looks forward to his classes everyday. Sometimes he likes to 2 classes on the same day. He has grown as an athlete since his start at D1.

My son Alexander loves the Rookie classes the atmosphere at D1 Mesquite. The coaches are great and the class groups are awesome with other kids! Glad to be apart of the family here at D1 ❤️

I love everything about D1 Mesquite. The workouts are always great. The afternoon adult class is perfect for my schedule. Coaches Clarissa and Desmond are fantastic. I'm in my 40s so I'm a little slower and cautious, however I never feel pressured to push myself beyond what I know I can do. The trainers are always attentive and encouraging. I like that they do not hesitate to correct my form so I get the best results out of my workout. Retta is always so welcoming and friendly when I walk in. The facility is always clean. Thomas does a great job managing the facility. I would highly recommend D1 Mesquite!
