I’m in the gym because I’m trying my best to be a better version of myself. I was initially anxious because I am not the person that wears matching sets and already look like I need to be on a poster. But I’m SO HAPPY to say that there was ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for me to be anxious because all of the instructors make me feel welcomed and comfortable. They challenge me, which doesn’t feel comfortable sometimes. LOL But, it’s welcomed for sure. I’m excited about this journey and can’t wait to see my progress.

I just had my first experience at FIIT CLT and it was absolutely awesome! You could tell the trainers put time into crafting the workout to ensure you experience maximum calorie burn. The trainers were also great during the workout. They knew how to work the room to make form corrections for both old and seasoned clients AND even joined in for a few sets to help motivate some of the clients to keep pushing. If you’re in the area and looking for a great place to workout, this is one of the top places around town. Give them a try! You won’t be disappointed!

I have been working out at Get It Dunn Fitness for about a month. Marco is positive, encouraging and takes the time to know what each of his clients need. The environment is family friendly, price is right and workouts are fun but challenging! In the month I have worked with Marco, I have gone from diabetic to pre-diabetic and am off all medications!!! Can't wait to see my results at the end of next month!!!

I am so grateful to have found Dunn Fitness! I was looking for a one on one personal trainer to help me meet my fitness goals since gaining weight during the pandemic and have already lost weight after only a few weeks! Mr. Dunn pushes you and encourages you to work hard during one on one sessions which last about 30-45 mins. The hours are also flexible to accommodate my demanding work schedule and there are also group sessions to provide competition to push you. I would highly recommend Dunn Fitness!

Best Y’s in Charlotte are Lake Norman and Dowd. Keith isn’t the cleanest as you can see in the video. They have physical training unit attached to the gym and on specific days of the week they have high school athletes taking up the multipurpose area where you have the squat racks and turf pad. The gym also doesn’t let you drop heavy weight on the Rogue platforms that are specifically designed for weight dropping on them. So if you’re a cross fitter wanting to do max weight cleans or deadlifts this isn’t the gym.

I had the worst experience yesterday. The staff is truly incompetent and incapable of doing their job correctly. For context I am a nationwide member and travel a lot. So typically anytime I go to a ymca outside of my city for some reason it’s such a lengthy process for them to check me in. Yesterday the lady at the front desk was asking me questions and she started asking more questions than usual, so I said “ Is there something wrong? I’ve been to this specific location all the time and they always let me in. I don’t know what the problem is. “ She then said she didn’t know what was going on and there wasn’t a manager at the moment so she would let me in. 10 minutes into my workout her and the manager come to get me telling me I have to leave and everyone is staring at me like I did something wrong. The manager (Allena or Ellena I can’t remember her name I believe it started with an A) then lies to me saying she spoke to my home YMCA and says I got kicked out of the family plan I’m in ( I’m in college so the account holder is my mom) She told me that I needed to grab my things and leave the facility. She also told me that next time I wanted to come in it would be $20. She didn’t allow me to explain myself or the situation. So I told her that I can call the ymca myself in her office to verify if that was true or not. I called my home ymca and verified that what the manager had told me was a lie. All they said was that there was an issue with the card on the account and it was expired but as soon as it got updated they would be able to process payment. I got the card payment updated and they had no choice but to let me back in. I believe they were trying to make it seem like I got kicked out of the plan so I could buy my own membership with them. It was a very humiliating and uncomfortable experience. As there were multiple people in the gym who saw me get kicked out and the staff tried to make it seem like I could not afford a gym membership. I felt discriminated against.

I’ve been to three different Y’s in the area, and this is my favorite. I really wanted to give five stars, but two things held me back. But please read to the end because there are positives. 1. I think it is unreasonable for half of the pool to be closed during water aerobics when the class doesn’t even take up but a fourth of the pool when they’re in session. With the physical therapy I have to do, I need to be able to walk down the stairs, and I take up about two feet of space around me. 2. EVERY staff member has been wonderful EXCEPT the water aerobics teacher that made a big deal of getting out of “her pool” when her class was in session. The life guard that was there at the time was nice and every other one I’ve come into contact with was wonderful. The pool manager was very nice to me and told me how to reserve lanes since I’m a nation wide member and can’t book online. Front staff have been great. It’s sad that one employee and experience can make someone feel attached. My suggestion is, if you travel, no matter what the pool schedule says, still call them before you come. You never know how each Y handles pool rules.

Too bad the pools and hottubs stay cited by the county for failed inspections as much as they are open. It's a crap shoot. I just joined another gym w pool bc this is just too much incompetence... since they opened, the Hottubs are filthy and according to the county website, unhygienic as well.

I’ve been a member here a while now and want to like it, but it’s just not it. There are no close yoga studios in the area so I was excited when they offered yoga classes. 3 or 4 times now I have showed up and the yoga teacher isn’t there. The front desk staff are nice but never know what’s going on in regards to the schedule. The app will say there is a class, but no teacher. Several times I have gone ( including today ) and the floor where we do yoga is filthy! I was swiping hair away from my mat on all sides. I’m a hairstylist and I can honestly say there is less hair on the floor of my salon than in that class room. If you’re just wanting to lift weights and use cardio equipment this gym would be a good fit for you. Otherwise it’s a bit of a bummer.

The place is top tier for day time and afternoon usage. The quality dwindles down by night time as there is a lack of proper maintenance from gym staff. I do not blame them entirely as they are typically short staffed by the end of the night and patrons need to do their due diligence in keeping the place clean. Overall still the best quality gym for the money. We have had memberships with YMCA, Crunch, Planet, Fitness Connection, and this remains the best overall gym in the North Charlotte region by a LONG stretch The pool when well kept is a gem. The sauna when monitored is hot and great for post work out. Ultimately all the machines here are working and get repaired in a timely manner. Gym etiquette really depends on the time of day but you do have a couple of morons who grunt shirtless and record with a tripod every so often that needs to be asked to follow the rules. Management should do their due diligence in explaining and reminding the patrons of these rules to encourage a comfortable environment for EVERY paying member

Only 3 lanes for their swimming pool, which can get quite crowded. Kids’ swimming lessons from another business take place here for a huge 4 hour window during prime working out time for gym members 5 days per week. I really hate having to rearrange my schedule to avoid screaming kids and an overcrowded pool area.

The guys who clean are always in the way. They vacuum right around your feet as you workout and in the locker rooms. Why don’t they come over night when the business is closed to clean? It’s cheap labor that’s why. People leave their equipment they are using scattered everywhere and rarely put things back. Some people even treat the gym as a social venue standing around in high traffic walkways talking, blocking the entire path, very rude and oblivious. The gym membership is cheap, although they charge you somewhere in the ball park of 75 dollars a year for a maintenance fee(one time payment) which evens out to $6 added onto your monthly membership. It’s close by my house and fairly cheap. Other than that very subpar gym.

I recently had a fantastic experience at Fitness Connection that left me excited to take the next step in my fitness journey. Teddy made an incredible impact on my decision give it a try. From the start, he was welcoming and genuinely invested in understanding what I was looking for in a gym. He took the time to introduce me to Jirus, a fitness trainer who went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and informed. Jaius was attentive, asking insightful questions about my goals and ensuring I understood how the equipment could support my progress. He patiently answered all my questions, helping me see the potential in using the variety of equipment available. The entire experience left me feeling empowered and ready to commit to my fitness goals. Fitness Connection isn’t just a gym; it’s a supportive space with a team that genuinely cares.

The facility and staff are fine. My biggest complaint is the patrons not cleaning the equipment after use. People pretty consistently clean their equipment at ANY Planet Fitness location I've been to. Why is that not a priority here? It's cold/flu season, let alone how gross is it to use sweaty equipment after a random stranger. Plenty of cleaning stations available, use it!

Whitney the Operation Mgr is extremely nice, helpful and keeps a smile on that beautiful face of hers. She's willing to help anyway she can! The new Club Manager is very cool since day 1 I met him. He's attentive and dedicated to making changes to make the gym better. Jarvis one of the Fitness trainers is genuinely a nice person! The best trainer! The new front desk associate young guy from SC is very welcoming makes you feel apart of the gym family. The first day I met him he was gracious ans made me feel I've known him for years. I've been going to this gym for over 4 years and I love the people and the gym!

Lack of motivation and board with workouts I decided to train with Ashton. I have been training for a little over 3 months and have noticed considerable results in motion, mobility, balance and strength. I’m in my 60”s and have a little arthritic inflamtion and even that has decreased.Coach Ashton knows what he is doing and is motivational. The variation of exercises definitely is not boring. I've been a member of Anytime Fitness for a number of years now. I really like the changes that management has made in the place. It's small, but it's very convenient, and packed with all of the equipment that you should need for a good, solid workout. Also, the customer service is great! I know this because I recently had an issue that was handled, very professionally, by Coach Ashton. By the way, there's a fitness class on Saturdays at 9am, included with membership, led by Coach Ashton. He's a great trainer and he has amazing energy. Come check out the gym, you won't be disappointed!

Moved to the area in June, was coming from a run down anytime in Alabama. When I came to the Anytime in Prosperity Park, I was relieved to see a clean and organized facility. Furthermore, I was happy to see an energetic and involved staff. Coach Ashton is always around and his energy is motivating on those sluggish down days and Coach Mo’s evening group trainings have drastically improved my mobility. Overall, this team and AF facility is highly recommended.

The property was fine with the last management group - maintenance requests took a while but at least the community managers actually cared about the residents. Since Lion Real Estate has taken over, there has been a large group of new residents that have moved in that have done nothing but been a nuisance to the property and to other residents. Kids playing at midnight unsupervised, trash littered all around the property (there’s literally a car battery sitting on the ground in one of the parking spots), music being blasted during after hours, and vandalism from said new residents. I watched a kid of one of the new residents bang his fists on the hood of my car multiple times with the mom standing right there and nothing was done, with no apologies. Not to mention, there have been several moments where there are normal vehicles (not maintenance) parked in the backyards of the property near the woods. At first I thought the new management was actually gonna fix things around here, but all they’ve done is slap a coat of white paint on the buildings and jack up rent $200 more than it was with the last management. Same broken gate, the groundskeeping has gotten worse, and nothings being done about it. I’ve tried contacting management in the past about some of these issues and received 0 response. Not to mention, my last two rent statements had a random $60 “miscellaneous” charge on it with no explanation. I’m not necessarily saying any of these things are being intentionally done by the management group, but I can’t help but notice that every other person writing a review is noticing the same things and management has done nothing to fix it. The internet they make you purchase is the worst experience I've ever had with an Internet provider. You can get another provider, but even then the options are limited because of contractual obligations between the property and Aerwave (the ISP). I work from home occasionally and have been unable to complete said work because of the internet on multiple occasions. EDIT: The picture of the trash bag was from a Friday, when there’s no trash pick up, and the bag was left there until trash got picked up on Sunday. Also added more pictures of where the property was spray painted by the children of the new community of residents.

I wish I never saw this place. I was going to wait to review until I had moved out, as to not cause any issues, but it just gets worse and worse every day. The front desk is very nice until you sign your paperwork and then they could not care less about you. Maintenance has come in without even knocking on two separate occasions. They never give any notice as to when maintenance will be coming anyway. The one time they did give notice they gave me the wrong date so I missed school and work waiting for them to not come until the next day. Why would I need maintenance? Well the ceiling is cracking, the closet doors are falling off the track, the toilet was not attached to the floor properly, half the outlets do not work, and this is just the tip of the issues. The office is extremely unhelpful and refuse to say they were wrong about something so they will send you on a wild goose chase rather than say they were wrong and give you the easy answer. I would call and complain but the office won’t answer their phone at any time of day. It’s rare for me to even get a response to my email. If I could move out early without being charged extreme fees I would’ve moved out after my first month. I spent a ton of money on insurance that met their requirements, and after a month they said they had new requirements and was going to add another fee to our rent regardless. Finally the valet trash is extremely hit or miss. My building currently has trash outside of every person’s door because it hasn’t been taken in a week and a half. Edit: As Google only allows you to write one review each I have to make an edit to this one because it only got so much worse. Those cracked ceilings I mentioned, completely collapsed. Once they switched management companies the grass was not cut for weeks until I put a complaint in with the city. I was told filters are changed twice a year but mine were never changed in 14 months. I have had numerous issues with the new front office staff. They are unhelpful and gouge you for every penny you have. I was charged for an additional insurance fee every month as I previously stated, it took me months to get my refund after I moved out, and I am still battling with the front office moths after move out because they sent a bill to collections for $109.09 for a fee I did not owe and was not even charged to my account until I was fully moved out. They count on you not reading the lease, but luckily I did and try not to be screwed over by them as much as I could have. You have to give a 60-day move out notice. And even after you submit one you may end up like me and be charged for the month after you were supposed to move out because they just believe no one will read in the lease where it tells you to do that. The bill that was sent to collections was supposedly a utility bill, but guess what else is in the lease “any additional utility bills will be deducted from the deposit” but that did not happen so they sent it to collections. Or maybe it was deducted, but I wouldn’t know because they also violated my lease by not giving me an itemized deduction on my deposit 30-60 days after move out. My apartment was broken into and the office staff could not have cared less about the safety of myself, my belongings, or the other people in the building that could have been at risk. I have suffered at the hands of this apartment complex and trust me I will do everything in my power to get even just an ounce of justice. The front desk staff has repeatedly told me one thing and then done something completely different with no repercussions to themselves. I will be communicating with the Better Business Bureau as well as contacting a news station willing to report the atrocities we all are going through or have gone through here, if all else fails I will be looking into legal action. Email me scarpen412@gmail.com if you have been wronged by this company and want to take action against them. Additionally, I just want it to be noted, I was never contacted about my google review as their reply indicated I would be.

I hate living here now. Ever since Lions Real Estate Group took over it’s been awful. First of all, I keep getting these unexplained charges and no one at the front desk can explain why. I’ve emailed corporate and gotten no response. Secondly, a big community of people have moved into the neighborhood and it’s been a huge disturbance. They rev their car engines up and down the street, from early morning to late at night. They let their kids hang out in the street sometimes until 2 or 3 am and they’re obnoxiously loud, literally screaming. They also leave trash everywhere and the adults are fixing multiple cars in the parking lot. I’ve written emails to complain about all of this and they are never addressed. This neighborhood used to be a peaceful oasis. But I will not be renewing my lease.

My experience started out decent, lots of repetitive requests during the application process, but hey, that’s the process of renting. After moving in, I noticed a few unscrewed kitchen cabinet doors, unsecured laminate flooring, the stove rocks back and forth and the carpet was dirty. Not to mention I was being charged damage waiver fees despite purchasing an insurance policy in full, presenting the documents to the insurance company as required, who then sent me an email stating that my charges would be removed. I presented that email along with proof of my policy to the leasing agent, only to be directed to submit the information to the insurance company. I replied to the leasing agent (Jhane?) that I had already done that. 30 days later still no response from her. I reached out to Alyssa Pruitt who had sent an email asking about a survey I had filled out and I also explained to her the reason for the survey score and it’s been three weeks and still no response. The trash valet is inconsistent and sometimes doesn’t even pick the trash up and I pay $25 a month. This is my experience here thus far and it’s only been less than three months. I’m incredibly disappointed and frustrated. If management plans on responding to this review, can you please use that same energy and either respond to my emails that were sent a month ago or remove those fees from my balance as I’ve requested multiple times?

As most recent reviews say: everything was fine under the previous management company. Ever since the new management took over, in just 3 short months: 1. The pool seems to be closed indefinitely for no reason other than they didn't want it open 2. Multiple machines in the workout room are damaged and cannot be used. No sign of any attempt to fix them up so far 3. Not only did not try to fix the gate, but hired contractors to cut off the mechanisms that would've been require to put it back up, so that's gone forever. 4. Told to move everything inside and take down any curtains or screens on the balconies because they wanted the cheapest, nastiest paint job I've seen in a while applied to the buildings (instead of using funds to fix the pool or gate, or workout equipment, or fix up the walking path, etc.) 5. Suddenly overrun with people blaring music in parking lots, RVs and vans that'll pop up for weeks at a time 6. Influx of random cars everywhere since they did away with the parking passes: now I frequently can't park near my apartment 7. Office staff (I've only ever seen the one guy though) are not exactly rude, but you get the feeling talking to him that you're an inconvenience he has to deal with rather than a resident. 8. Garbage EVERYWHERE. I don't know why, but there is always garbage laying around now! Every morning it seems I'll find dozens of water bottles and other garbage all over the place just going on a walk. 9. Screaming kids everywhere, and not at normal times. I mean I'll get woken up at 2 am by kids running around outside screaming and playing. Totally fine during the day, but something is wrong if people are just sending their kids out that late. 10. Despite failing at every turn to do anything actually beneficial for their residents and inconveniencing us all, I don't think we've gotten so much as an apology, let alone any kind of offer to reimburse us with something simple like $100 one month rent as a "sorry for the inconvenience." Nothing. If you're going to be this crap at managing your property, at least make it up to us. 11. Now they let their

I have been to two classes so far with SkyFit Dance Fitness and I love it! I was looking for a dance fitness class closer to me and that was more convenient with my work schedule and this is it! I was recommended by two of my girls from church and now it’s our thing to go together. Cara is a great instructor and her class is fun and challenging at the same time. I get a great workout in each time that I’ve been and I am looking forward to making this a part of my fitness journey routinely in 2025!

I’ve been attending sky fit since May and I’m so excited I took the necessary steps to be a better me. Class has been like a therapy session for me. I block out everything i have going on and just dance it away. I appreciate the inclusiveness and Cara’s energy! She is approachable, personable and encouraging. Thank you for always noticing me and bringing the vibes. I also train in BB&T strength and conditioning fitness classes. Even though I may huff and puff through it, thank you for pushing me. Shout out coach Zy, Ty and Madison for always encouraging me!

I had a wonderful experience at BBT! The space was clean, inviting, and well-maintained, creating a relaxing and welcoming environment. The instructors were professional, approachable, and made me feel completely at ease. I’ve done yoga with Carlecia and attended SkyFit with Cara over the New Year, and both were fantastic! The no-judgment zone vibe truly makes everyone feel comfortable regardless of experience level. Highly recommend!

I am a founding member of Pure Barre Highland Creek. I cannot say enough positive things about Pure Barre. This exercise routine is great for any age and level. I had not worked out in 15 years and although very hard getting started again the teachers are amazing and extremely encouraging. This photo is of me finishing 250 classes in 18 months during Covid 😊

I recently joined the Pure Barre Highland creek location about 2 weeks ago, and I love it! I broke my foot about 8 months ago, and I had been researching options to help me re-strength my foot and to get a good workout. When I signed up for the initial free class, Lindsey reached out to me immediately, and answered any and every question I had about the class. I was still a little nervous about the impact to my foot, but Amy and Janet reassured me that I would be able to do any modifications needed for my personal safety for my first class. Amy’s foundations class was challenging, but I really liked it - she also gave me a lot of encouragement during class. Janet helped me register for the summer unlimited classes program, and regularly checks in on me to see how I am doing. I’ve since started going to Sarah’s reform class on Mondays, and I tried the other Sarah’s Empower class - both are way more challenging than classic, but both Sarahs are great at explaining positioning and correcting form. I find it really cool that my instructors know my name, and are dedicated to making sure I can make it through class. I am really looking forward to working with the Pure Barre Highland Creek team the rest of the summer!

Pure Barre has been my favorite workout for 6 years now and I was so excited when Highland Creek PB opened just a few minutes from home! All of the teachers are so sweet and offer an amazing workout every single time I attend class. I recommend Pure Barre to everyone I know! :)

At 63 I am feeling stronger and better than ever, thanks to my classes at Pure Barre! I Joined less less than 6 months ago and can already see my body toning and core strengthening. The classes are fun but yet challenging. Terrific class instructors!!

My 14 year old son is loving his training sessions at D1. He is a strong athlete and appreciates the push. He also enjoys it when his coaches tweak the workout to challenge him if he’s working out alongside athletes of lower athletic level. Everyone has been so nice and positive. We love it!
