I use the rowing machine every visit. Unfortunately, the two here are in various states of DIY disrepair. I’ve mentioned this to someone at the front desk twice now over a few weeks. One rowing machine handle has been “fixed” with electrical tape, which hits you in the leg every time you row. The other one is simply inoperable as someone tied the handle back on upside down. I’ve been to other locations that have much newer, nicer, and easier to use rowing machines. I’m not sure why rowing machines that are clearly beyond repair are still in use. It’s embarrassing and far below what Planet Fitness’s standard should be.

Great place. The whole vibe is just amazing and the staff makes everyone feel so welcome. You can tell they really care about member experience. Everything is always spotless and working perfectly. The atmosphere is super positive and judgment-free - exactly what you want in a gym! Such a fantastic value for all the amenities you get. Been a member for months and couldn't be happier with my choice. Honestly the best gym experience I've had!

Well I think 🤔 I found my 1st World Guinness Records and I think I just burn 🔥 289 calories and run for 2.3 miles & for 3.3 miles per hour & so, I had finally figured out who I truly am and had felt like 👍 sweating 🥵, walking 🚶 faster and better than ever wait actually I had never 👎 run for 3.3 miles per hour before and that’s my story about the Dark Side of the Athletic & Competitive Immortality Expectations & that’s why my big idea 💡 for tonight is walk faster on the trim dale in Planet Fitness and so, I had finally lived happily ever after The End

Returned to Hanover gym after a month , new staff in nights is very friendly and keeping the gym clean. Bathrooms , showers are clean. All the bathrooms have toilet papers. I go to the gym before 2AM and now I love going to this gym. Thank you for hiring new staff who cares.

If you are a Black Card Member, don't waste your time (and gas) going to the Hanover Ave, Allentown location! I heard from another member that they had different massage beds and chairs than the ones I'm currently using at my facility, so I drove all the way over there for nothing! I waited at the front desk for 10 minutes and there was not one single employee working there. I walked around and tried to find someone to help me and there was no one in sight. I signed in and tried to use the massage bed to see if maybe it'll start on its own and it did not. Why am I paying extra money for the Black Card if I can't even use it! I filled out a survey and a manager replied to me saying they are short staffed. That is unacceptable and is no excuse! The manager should have been there to make sure the facility is running smoothly and properly for us members when they are short staffed. They have no consideration that we pay extra money for the Black Card and the only way to use it is for an employee to be there to check us in.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. These are racist people. They cancel and rebook my appointment several times. No one answers the phone I wish I could give it zero stars. Never ever go to this place. Not able to work with them at all. I called and asked why they rebooked my appointment they said “other people wanted your spot so we gave it to them”. And proceed to laugh at me. Never ever go here please to save some of your sanity.

Staff if very rude and un responsible. We booked 3 appointments and the staff calls to say some "Regular customers" wanted our slot so they canceled our appointments. SO RUDE and I would never go back here again. I would suggest not to book this place EVER!!!

Highly upset and annoyed!!! I rented out the small hall for my daughters bday party at the end of February! Once the party was over, we cleaned EVERYTHING, wiped down all the tables and counter space, etc! We brought our own garbage bags to bag up all the garbage!! We left NOTHING laying. I messaged them to let them know that we were done almost an hour early and was told that we can leave and once the cleaners come in and look around, etc, as long as everything was good we would get our deposit mailed back. It has now been almost 2 MONTHS since the party, and absolutely NO communication!! I have called, left messages, emailed, sent texts, etc, and NO RESPONSE what so ever! Haven’t heard anything from them since that night!!! I would like my deposit back as stated in the contract!!!! This is not right that you are keeping this money and not even having the decency to respond back!!! I don’t recommend anyone renting a hall with them!!! Very poor communication, and at this point it seems very very shady!!!! I will be looking into another way to receive my money back, since there has been no response in 2 MONTHS!!!

we rent this gym from 8am to 10am. They are ALWAYS 10-20 minutes late, and still charge us the same amount. Straight up clown business. Please fix. Update 4/8/23; Rented from 8-10am. It’s currently 8:13 and the building is still locked. What’s good?!

If you haven’t tried a class yet, I’d say make the time. I went with no experience and no background and attempted my shot at infor to pole class. Let me tell you! I had a different experience of a workout because I was sweating and the class was actually really fun and inspiring. I will definitely be attempting to take more classes. I will also be bringing all my friends.

I am ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED with my classes. Love my instructor, MiCole in Intro to Pole. Since going my flexibility is getting so much better and feel so much more confident with my body. Recommendation to anyone just wanting a little excitement in their lives. The environment is just so nice and no judgment at all! Love this place.

My friends and I had an awesome time here. It was a first time pole dancing class for all of us. We booked a private class and had a blast! Our instructor, Nina, was fantastic!!! We will definitely be back!!!

I love this place! I've been going here for about two weeks so far. I've done the intro classes and flexibility. I absolutely love going here. The instructors are friendly, and egar to help us strengthen and improve our moves. They offer so many classes, private lessons, classes for kids, workout classes, and much more. Everytime I go, I seriously always want to come back! It's an awesome place!

In the 7 months I've been taking classes at Abstract Aerial Academy I have felt stronger, sexier and more confident then I ever have been. It's hard, but progress not perfection and the instructors foster a wonderfully supportive environment, which is ultimately why I keep coming back.

I've been training with Eric at this gym for almost a year now and I have to say it's one of the best decisions I've made! The atmosphere here is very supportive and nurturing to your fitness goals. For anyone that is interested in powerlifting I would definitely recommended scheduling an intro session, you will not be disappointed.

Highly recommend powerlifting as a training method, and specifically Competitive Edge as a gym! I was introduced to powerlifting through a 3-day crash course in Las Vegas in June 2024 and needed a local gym where I could train. Competitive Edge is the only gym in the area that really, truly looked like a power lifting gym. Being new to the sport, I was nervous about signing up, but my first meeting with Eric (the owner) set me at ease. He is a fantastic trainer - encouraging, straight-forward, and totally professional. The gym atmosphere is low-key, with members coming and going whenever works for them (no set hours - you get a code for the security door and go when you want). Everyone is friendly and is willing to give you a spot if you need it, but otherwise, people are focused on their workout and pretty much stay in their lane. It’s a perfect balance of social, but not so social that you avoid the gym when you feel like crap. Eric is rock steady and always has great advice and training tools. I have been training with him for about three months now and have made big gains. Best of all, no injuries! This gym accommodates everyone from serious, competitive lifters to people like me who are… (ahem)… not traditional powerlifting types but who are eager to learn. If you are already a lifter, this gym has everything you need and then some. If you are new to powerlifting and wondering if it will work for you, PLEASE don’t hesitate! Contact Eric and come see what it all about. It’s a blast!

I'm Greg, a 55-year-old who decided it was time to get back into shape. Entering Competitive Edge six months ago was one of the best decisions I've made for my health and fitness. Eric, the owner and my personal trainer, has a knack for understanding exactly what you need. From day one, he tailored a program that not only challenged me but also considered my age, fitness level, and goals. Eric's expertise in fitness training is evident. His approach mixes the latest in fitness science with practical, results-driven techniques. Every session feels productive, and I've learned so much about exercise, nutrition, and recovery. The gym itself is well-equipped with a variety of machines and free weights, always clean, and has a great atmosphere that motivates you to push harder. However, it's the community vibe at Competitive Edge that really stands out. Everyone, from staff to fellow trainees, is supportive and friendly. I've seen remarkable improvements in my strength, endurance, and overall well-being. At 55, I feel stronger and more agile than I did a decade ago. The progress I've made here isn't just visible in the mirror but felt in everyday activities. What sets Competitive Edge apart is their focus on the whole person. It's not just about lifting weights; it's about a balanced to fitness, which includes flexibility, mental health, and nutrition advice.

You will not beat this gym if you are serious about strength training. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or competitive lifter or what your goals are. It's a great environment, great people, and a CLEAN gym with the best equipment. We've belonged to just about every gym in the Valley and this is hands down the best I've ever belonged to.

I have been going to Competitive Edge for about 6 months now. This gym provides all the essentials for your powerlifting journey regardless of your experience level you will find a home in this small well maintained, private, family owned gym. The owner, Eric, is a phenomenal coach. I had reservations when I started, coming from a 5 day a week split program, I was apprehensive to follow a powerlifting program that only trains 3 days a week. When I took the plunge and followed Eric’s program I was thrilled with the end results. I put nearly 138 pounds on my total in less than 10 weeks! While I was dedicated to the routine in and out of the gym, the strength gain is a true testament to Eric’s knowledge and love for the sport. Eric and his wife Jess provide a warm, welcoming, inclusive environment for anyone interested in making fitness a part of their life. Initially I was looking for a smaller, non corporate powerlifting gym.. what I found in Competitive Edge is much more than that, it’s a built in support system that everyone contributes to. Hope to see you at the bar sometime!

I went to Elite for the first time with my daughter and I was so confused because 1) I couldn't find the building, is poor advertise. 2) really small inside all the girls together with not space to stand around. 3) they don't even have a parent section where you can watch your child and isntead I have to stay in my car for an hour and not knowing what is going on. 4) I went upstair thinking that is the parent section and they told that I have to wait in my car. In overall, my daughter liked it but the building issued needs to improve.

Love this gym, we switched here from a different gym in the valley and since doing so have found the organization to be top notch. Communication is 💯 and the team moms are great. My daughter has learned so much and is pushed to her best. Looking forward to a great season!

I wish I could post this without having to give it a star at all. I have never seen any business run so poorly, especially one dealing with children. The owner, Tracy, is.....kind of not all there. She makes her rules and regulations, prints them, hands them out to the parents and then decides day to day which ones to enforce or changes them to suit her needs. They care about nothing except money and if their athletes are not learning something then they simply remove them from the team. Since placing my daughter in a different gym she has learned so much in a short amount of time and has learned to trust her coaches and teammates. What a difference!!! Do not go to Valley Elite....read the reviews, they do not have a great reputation with the families. If all you care about is winning and spending your money then go for it. If you want your child to learn, have a good time doing it and gain self confidence then look elsewhere. Good luck!

The worse ownership I've seen from a private gym. The mirrors are cracked. The equipment is soaked with sweat. The annual fees are not talked about. Every month the bill is a different amount. It's absolutely unacceptable for the quality of gym to be charged 70-80 a month when it's advertised as 39 a month. You have to put $100 down to start. That isn't displayed anywhere . No water fountain except tap water from a sink. Will not recommend. Will not go back.

Disgusting and Overpriced—Stay Away! I am incredibly disappointed with this gym. First off, it’s ridiculously overpriced for what you get. You’d expect a premium experience for the amount they charge, but instead, you’re greeted with filth and neglect. The equipment is ancient and barely functional, with many machines looking like they haven’t been cleaned in years. The entire facility is dirty—from the bathrooms to the workout areas. It’s clear that management has no interest in maintaining the place or providing a clean environment for members. Save your money and avoid this place at all costs. You’re better off working out at home.

The lowest quality equipment. Cracked glass. Dirty bathrooms and every month new charges randomly appear on my credit card from signing up. Take a look and do not recommend if you want a consistently approachable and friendly environment. Never recommending. Go to planet.

This gym was supposed to cancel my sons membership since September. After many calls and him stopping in they are still charging him. He is a college student and has not been home. He was told over and over someone would call him back. They are still charging him. We’ve contacted the better business bureau and still no response. It’s a shame they steal from college kids.
