I've been training with Eric at this gym for almost a year now and I have to say it's one of the best decisions I've made! The atmosphere here is very supportive and nurturing to your fitness goals. For anyone that is interested in powerlifting I would definitely recommended scheduling an intro session, you will not be disappointed.

Highly recommend powerlifting as a training method, and specifically Competitive Edge as a gym! I was introduced to powerlifting through a 3-day crash course in Las Vegas in June 2024 and needed a local gym where I could train. Competitive Edge is the only gym in the area that really, truly looked like a power lifting gym. Being new to the sport, I was nervous about signing up, but my first meeting with Eric (the owner) set me at ease. He is a fantastic trainer - encouraging, straight-forward, and totally professional. The gym atmosphere is low-key, with members coming and going whenever works for them (no set hours - you get a code for the security door and go when you want). Everyone is friendly and is willing to give you a spot if you need it, but otherwise, people are focused on their workout and pretty much stay in their lane. It’s a perfect balance of social, but not so social that you avoid the gym when you feel like crap. Eric is rock steady and always has great advice and training tools. I have been training with him for about three months now and have made big gains. Best of all, no injuries! This gym accommodates everyone from serious, competitive lifters to people like me who are… (ahem)… not traditional powerlifting types but who are eager to learn. If you are already a lifter, this gym has everything you need and then some. If you are new to powerlifting and wondering if it will work for you, PLEASE don’t hesitate! Contact Eric and come see what it all about. It’s a blast!

I'm Greg, a 55-year-old who decided it was time to get back into shape. Entering Competitive Edge six months ago was one of the best decisions I've made for my health and fitness. Eric, the owner and my personal trainer, has a knack for understanding exactly what you need. From day one, he tailored a program that not only challenged me but also considered my age, fitness level, and goals. Eric's expertise in fitness training is evident. His approach mixes the latest in fitness science with practical, results-driven techniques. Every session feels productive, and I've learned so much about exercise, nutrition, and recovery. The gym itself is well-equipped with a variety of machines and free weights, always clean, and has a great atmosphere that motivates you to push harder. However, it's the community vibe at Competitive Edge that really stands out. Everyone, from staff to fellow trainees, is supportive and friendly. I've seen remarkable improvements in my strength, endurance, and overall well-being. At 55, I feel stronger and more agile than I did a decade ago. The progress I've made here isn't just visible in the mirror but felt in everyday activities. What sets Competitive Edge apart is their focus on the whole person. It's not just about lifting weights; it's about a balanced to fitness, which includes flexibility, mental health, and nutrition advice.

You will not beat this gym if you are serious about strength training. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or competitive lifter or what your goals are. It's a great environment, great people, and a CLEAN gym with the best equipment. We've belonged to just about every gym in the Valley and this is hands down the best I've ever belonged to.

I have been going to Competitive Edge for about 6 months now. This gym provides all the essentials for your powerlifting journey regardless of your experience level you will find a home in this small well maintained, private, family owned gym. The owner, Eric, is a phenomenal coach. I had reservations when I started, coming from a 5 day a week split program, I was apprehensive to follow a powerlifting program that only trains 3 days a week. When I took the plunge and followed Eric’s program I was thrilled with the end results. I put nearly 138 pounds on my total in less than 10 weeks! While I was dedicated to the routine in and out of the gym, the strength gain is a true testament to Eric’s knowledge and love for the sport. Eric and his wife Jess provide a warm, welcoming, inclusive environment for anyone interested in making fitness a part of their life. Initially I was looking for a smaller, non corporate powerlifting gym.. what I found in Competitive Edge is much more than that, it’s a built in support system that everyone contributes to. Hope to see you at the bar sometime!
