Great classes, and the energy work is amazing. The space is comfortable and feels welcoming. Joel is an incredible instructor and my first practice was so invigorating. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Definitely check this out if youre looking to start somewhere

This is one of the first places I went to for yoga in Seattle. And one of my favorites to go to for the focused men’s series and sound bath sessions. Joel is a considerate encouraging and inspiring instructor. Yogasmith is a great place to meet other members of the community seeking health and calming awareness while living in the city. 😉 Thanks for the empowering sessions.

I'm a professional concert and Broadway dancer in New York City and often head home to Seattle to visit family and friends. I discovered Yogasmith recently and took Joel's men's yoga class on a Sunday morning. It was by far one of the best yoga classes I've ever taken in my entire life, and I've taken many. Joel has a great energy and guided me into a rich practice of listening to my body, one breath at a time. Finding one's true core strength isn't easy, but Joel made me feel that I could do it and that I could reach my full potential. I'm elated to the thought of practicing with him again, and again, and again. Check him out and his roster of amazing teachers. Seattle is so fortunate to have Yogasmith. Go!

Joel is the best. My husband and I have been practicing with him for close to a decade now, and we can't say enough good about him. He goes out of his way to put his students first.. from the way he structures the coop and classes, to the way he leads a practice, challenging you wherever you are. He provides optional modifications to increase/decrease the challenge of your practice, encourages you to listen to your body and avoid injury, and shares insights on how to be a stronger, happier, healthier human being inside and out. He also goes out of his way to provide a welcoming space, and to make accessible some really interesting opportunities: sound baths, cacao ceremonies, yoga nidra, lectures, book releases, music, retreats, guest workshops, group acupuncture, and massage, and a lending library to name a few. And he's managed to keep his studio free of gear/attire sales, instead offering a kitchen/lounge space to make tea or have a light snack and chat. Sometimes he even bakes cookies. Who else does this? No one! Such a special place.
