🚨New Members, Read This Before Joining This Gym🚨 This location used to be part of XSport Fitness, which was once a great gym. Over time, however, the facilities began to decline due to aging. When LA Fitness took over XSport Fitness, I was hopeful for improvements but unfortunately, they’ve made the gym worse than I could have ever imagined. Here are some of the key issues I’ve noticed since the transition: They shut down the pool and jacuzzi, which were major features of the gym. They cut off guest Wi-Fi access, making it less convenient for members. The overall upkeep and quality seem to be dropping compared to when it was XSport. Machines broke constantly, they never fix it and Steam room doesn’t work most of the time. (after LA fitness took over the Xsport) I’ve been a member of XSport Fitness for almost a decade, primarily frequenting the Fairfax, Merrifield and Alexandria locations. In comparison, this location is slightly better right now, but it still doesn’t meet the standards I was used to. It’s unclear whether LA Fitness is intentionally downgrading these former XSport locations or if it’s just a case of poor management. Either way, the changes have been disappointing, especially during these challenging and unpredictable times. I preferred XSport Fitness over Gold’s Gym because it was open 24/7, offering true flexibility for people with non-traditional schedules. Unfortunately, the current hours seem geared only toward desk job or blue-collar workers, making it less accessible for others. Consider these points before committing to a membership here. The gym’s current state doesn’t live up to its former reputation, and it’s uncertain if things will improve under LA Fitness.

Updated 1/20/2025. If you visit the gym note how little cleaning solution is available to clean machines after use. Nobody cleans after use. Machines are covered in sweat. Weeks with no repairs to numerous machines. LA Fitness acquired xSport. This gym is in a total free fall. Pool is not going to reopen. many machines, message beds are down until further notice. Systematically removing TVs from cardio machines. TV screens are broken now with DirecTV down. Now few of the cardio machine TV screens work. Massage beds are under premium memberships. . . .TVs are not working properly. It's a staff free for all.... Just an FYI... Don't waste your money on either premium memberships. The hydro massage beds have been out of service for months. Don't expect to ever use them. It's been a slow burn. They have slowly removed services and increased monthly fees. Equipment disappears and it is never replaced. Things are worsening. Many cardio machines are broken. Billing is a disaster. So much for a premium membership. Now the 80lb, and 70lb curl bars are permanently gone. Both water message machines are out of order. Absolutely chaos at this club. Pool has been closed for months. Steam room closed until further notice. Water fountain drain has been clogged for a month. Chest press machine has been broken for 4 months.

I was excited when LA Fitness took over this location, but since then it has just gotten worse. Cables are broken (seriously only one has a safe carabiner). The women’s restroom is gross, and only two of the six showers work. As someone who works out before work, the fact that I have to wait on a shower because four have been out of order for months is crazy. Equipment isn’t hateful, but small fixes could really help this place.

Y'all. I didn’t think it could get worse but it did. A man sweat out a gallon on the stair master (no shame we all sweat) but then proceeded to walk away and not clean it up. The machine literally had puddles of sweat on it (not exaggerating). I gave one of the managers a heads up for hygiene and sanitation purposes. He told me “that’s disgusting. I’ll take care of it”. He then proceeded to not move from his spot for the next 30 mins. It was never cleaned up. I left an hour later and nothing had been done

This gym is the product of its customers. Either they stopped caring and management followed suit or due to disrepair, the customers stopped caring. Racking weights is non-existent. You see plates lying all over the place. This is chaos. I wonder if this place will be transformed into the better or worse (not even sure that's possible) since LA Fitness bought Xsports. Everything is either super old or barely functioning, I mean everything. This place should be burned down and rebuilt but we know that the shareholders needs are more important than the customers. I should have stuck with 24 Hour fitness but they aren't located in all the states I visited which caused me to switch. The biggest mistake of my life. But I'm hopeful. Also this will no longer be 24 hours as of 11/11/24. Lastly some of these restrictions are wild.. And change the sign of the place. When I first drove up, I thought I was in the wrong spot.
