I recently had a consultation with Michael, the owner and head coach, and, can offer nothing but positive praise and a strong recommendation if you are seeking professional help with your training and fitness or just need someone to help you identify ways of improving your overall health and fitness. Prior to scheduling our consultation meeting, a 75 minute session, Michael and I communicated via email to discuss my reasons for seeking the consultation, his approach to strength and mobility training, and, the context for what I was hoping to achieve (increased strength and endurance that I wasn't developing due to a past running-related injury), and, Michael was very knowledgeable, friendly, and offered specific strength-training and flexibility/mobility strategies that we tried-out and that have unquestionably increased my strength and endurance. After the consultation, which, was both informative and comprehensive, Michael sent me a follow-up email summarizing the session activities, his strength-training and mobility exercise recommendations, and, offered to answer any lingering questions about the plan we developed, and, encouraged me to schedule future sessions or attend other gym events (e.g., specific exercise classes) if desired. If you're looking for one-on-one personalized attention and guidance in a small, friendly, community-oriented gym from a professional that actually understands the anatomy and physiology of strength and mobility development and training, Michael and the staff at Wasatch Fitness Academy are well worth considering.

Wasatch Fitness Academy is the ideal place for athletes of all kinds and those folks just starting their fitness journey. This is the only gym I've attended where a coach will say "It looks like your right shoulder doesn't have the same flexibility as the left. Let's figure that out." or "Are you favoring your knee?" The kind of attention each athlete gets in class is incredible. Michael, Sam & Chelsea know how to modify & customize workouts for those who are injured or those who are training for ultramarathons. The community is positive and supportive people. Well worth your money for superior training.

I'd just about given up hope. I came to Wasatch Fitness Academy overweight and miserable. I knew I needed help, but I was afraid. I was afraid of being a lost cause. But after 5-10 minutes of meeting with Michael, I knew I was in the right place. Michael has helped me make progress physically, mentally and emotionally. He is patient with me, understanding, supportive, encouraging and I truly feel like he cares about me. If you're looking for a change, but are afraid, start here.

Michael is helpful and meets you at your level while still challenging you to push yourself harder than you knew you could go. After having resigned myself to permanent limited mobility in my right shoulder, I just realized that I can lift my right hand painlessly over my head for the first time in years and I attribute my increased mobility to training at WFA.
