Came here because the gym I normally go to was crowded. This gym is so unkept. All the machines are squeaky and noisy. Some of them barely work. The cables to the pulleys are all worn out. Weights are scattered and not sorted correctly. The placement of all the machines is very poor as well. I wouldn't come here, just go to the bigger gym across 1604 because the setup there is years ahead of this one.

Gym is in good condition, gets pretty full like anywhere else but I get a good workout in. Locker rooms are usually kept clean as well.

Only let's locals work out here. Dumb policy. Response to GM Lauren: The person I spoke with had an attitude and didn't tell me there was a paid day pass. They told me I couldn't use the gym or get any day pass unless I was a texas resident and had an attitude about it, not understanding I'm not a texas resident, basically telling me I can't come and use this gym at all when I've used it before and told me I had to go somewhere else. It's was some young guy. Upset enough to leave a review.

I have been a member of this gym location when it was a Spectrum Gym. It was a good gym until CoVid happened and the management closed down the hot tub, steam baths and swimming pool. Also, in 2021 the management removed several of the good tread mills and replaced them with used older models. This week the management removed the last two good tredmills and have abandoned us to the vintage models that are more uncomfortable to exercise on. I have been exercising regularly since 1975 and I am an old time marathon runner. I can handle the tougher machines but they are not good for novice runners or people who want to run on a modern more comfortable machine. I am disappointed in Bandera Pointes’ downward spiral into a less comfortable poverty look with the tread mills that they have chosen. I can handle it but I am not a glutton for punishment but I think the management are.

UPDATE WARNING: I have downgraded my original 3 star review to 1 star due to charges still being billed to me months after cancellation. I canceled my non-contract bi-weekly military membership after moving completely out of state by filling out their cancellation form in-person at their front desk. Fast forward 60 Days later and I am still being charged the membership fees to my account. I have not been able to contact anyone of importance at this gym because they’re all “busy.” This is a scam tactic used by many gyms like golds, and it looks like it’s happened to hundreds of other people who try to cancel their gym memberships. I have now cancelled my debit account to stop charges, but I have seen others get collection agencies harassing them and hits on their credit for taking this route. If you’re reading this, don’t join Golds Gym unless you want to never be able to cancel the membership. Original Review: Over the past year this place has definitely gone downhill as far as cleanliness and clientele it attracts. Ever since they got rid of the color gym tier levels (used to be a ruby gym), this place got busier and less maintenance is performed on basic things like worn seat upholstery on equipment. They have the typical gym crowd levels with 4:30-7:30 pm on weekdays being very busy, and the first 2 months after New Years being very very busy with people who typically never go to the gym and just walk on all the treadmills for a hour. For the most part, no one is there on the weekends though (I took the photo I’m providing on a Saturday at 4 pm) Overall it’s a smaller Golds Gym that could use some work.
