I had a very poor experience at this studio. The instructor was kind before class, but I requested to be positioned towards the back of class and was told that the spot she chose for me was “just fine.” I did not appreciate the coyness as I would have preferred her to tell me that while my spot was indeed towards the front, that would be better for a new client like myself. I was relatively shocked that no modifications were offered throughout class at all. The class I took was not listed as advanced and definitely should have been; as a fitness instructor myself and someone who has taken over 1,000 fitness classes, I don’t think I’ve ever been in one where no mods are offered. Because of this, I felt my risk for injury was high throughout the class and it was a dangerous experience. Finally, when the instructor came to adjust my positioning, she told me that I was “not in the work at all.” As an instructor myself I understand that slight changes in form can make all of the difference and I appreciate her hands on help (which she did not, I’ll point out, ask prior permission about, which is common practice …) but I found her tone frankly insulting and discouraging!

From the ownership to the teachers the vibe is this studio is inclusive regardless of fitness level. The classes cover a wide range from beginner to super butt kicking advanced. Even though you work hard you learn from the teachers a little more every class and the energy is what makes me continue to go back for more.

I tried 3 classes which were okay. My issue is with the management of accounts and their racist attitudes. I canceled which someone in the studio verified. Come to find out a year later—my card was still being drafted. When I contacted them to let them know —they disingenuously followed up then hung up on me when I tried to explain after being ignored by call and email. They played victim when I told them they could have done better at being accountable. I anticipate a reply in which case I can share screenshots of their dismissiveness.I doubt I would be treated that way if I were a “typical” client. Lifetime fitness has a Barre class and other offerings. I would recommend you try them instead.

I used to take Pure Barre classes back home before I moved to PA and loved it, so I was extremely excited to begin classes again this summer at the Ardmore location. This studio is much better than my old studio. The staff is so nice, warm and friendly, the students are also very friendly, and I leave feeling great. Its also an incredible workout!
