Hess Fitness is a great gym with welcoming staff. Lauren at the front desk is kind and gets you set up with day or week passes quick. Jere, the owner, also remembers everyone that comes through and is extremely knowledgeable on lifting and personal training. The gym has unit equipment that gives it its physical therapy / powerlifting gym feel. The cost is also better than Lancaster Crunch because the annual fee for Crunch (even for monthly) is $69.99 which pays for two weeks of Hess and is well worth it! Keep up the positive workout environment Jere!

Hess Fitness & Athletic Performance is without a doubt the best private fitness facility in Lancaster. Over my years of lifting and working out I’ve visited many world class gyms and Hess stacks up with the best of them. The gym has state of the art equipment you cannot get anywhere else and new additions are always being added. The owner Jere Hess is unbelievable passionate about this business that he will go above and beyond to ensure that all members have everything they need to achieve their goals. In addition, Jere is a world class trainer and true professional in the realm of physical therapy and sports performance. I’ve been a member of this gym since it first opened December, 2022 and it continues to expand and set itself apart as a premier facility. If you compete in collegiate, high school or recreational sports like football, baseball, track & field, powerlifting, bodybuilding, lacrosse etc. or are into general fitness, this is the place to be if you want to improve.

I am a 59 yo male runner, not your typical fitness/strength student, but I had a hamstring I needed to rehab and wanted to generally strengthen. Jere and Chad were able to do both, tailoring a program designed for my interests. I am impressed with their equipment and their methods, and highly recommend them.

Jere and his team fixed my back issues of around 15yrs. At night I was barely sleeping and rarely without taking pain medication and my low back would go out so bad that I’d occasionally miss days of work. I had been to numerous doctors, physical therapists, and chiros trying to get treatment for my issues with no success. A coworker recommended Hess’s fit center and her confidence that he could help me had me convinced. I signed up on opening day. After about a half a month of training with Jere I started to notice changes. He had me work on my core, showed me how to release knots in my muscles, fixed my stabilizers and muscle imbalances . I never need pain meds at night any more and my back hasn’t “gone out” in a few years. I’m not training one on one with Jere anymore but I still go to Hess’s and use the tools that he and his team taught me. This is a one of a kind gym because Jere and his team have YEARS of experience and degrees in physical therapy, strength and athletic training. If you have any fitness goals that you want to reach or injuries you’re trying to fix I can say with %100 certainty that Hess’s will help you get it done. Massive thanks to Jere Chad and Lauren!

Let me begin with saying that I don’t write reviews - ever. Frankly, I usually can’t be bothered. But here we are. I came to Jere and Hess Fitness about a year ago now. I was 1 1/2 years out from a shoulder labrum repair, and had yet to make a “full recovery”. A traditional physical therapist had gotten me as far as they could, but I didn’t have the tools - or knowledge - to know where to go from there. Jere and his team did. I made more progress with them in a month than I did on my own and with standard PT protocols in the year and a half prior. This is a place for anyone and everyone. Young, old, expert, novice, fit, floppy, firm, fluffy … you get it. They take you out of your comfort zone in the most welcome and encouraging way possible. Basically, you should go there and if you’ve stuck with this review this long - you’re clearly a committed human and will succeed.
