I’m confused about the reviews as they are clearly bots or from the owner. The person who posted: “There's plenty room to work out and machines 💥💥💥💥💥 #CHINGON_CARNAL” along with a photo of the top part of a chest press machine is FAKE. The 3 chest press machines here do not have that image. Please see the pictures I added of the real 3 chest press machines at this location. It’s disheartening to read, as well as seeing the condition of the gym. We can all learn is instead of improving the gym due to complaints at the gym and here, there are fake reviews to counter real concerns by actual members. As an actual member, my biggest issue is working out without functioning air conditioning especially in the summer. Too crowded to have the ac not working! Instead of writing fake reviews, fix the problems at the gym!

To sum up and encapsulate my experience here, it's "okay". Two story gym and a wide variety of gym equipments. Conveniently located in the center of Bensonhurst and has a free membership program for high school students! The gym is usually always crowded so expect long waits for each machines. The best time to go is around 10-1PM. Avoid the morning and night crowds!! Especially around 4PM-8PM as people are getting off from work. However, the AC does not work properly! Considering the current heat wave right now, I was abashed (slightly ashamed), nonplused, and baffled by this. Combined with the crowd of people (as usual), you are guaranteed to walk out drenched in sweat. Putting us in great peril. It shouldn't be something insuperable though; just simply add some fans...

Where do I begin? Let’s discuss how we are in the middle of summer and the air conditioning does not work. At this point, it’s a health hazard. To be fair, staff are stuck in this hot facility the whole time and have a fan at the counter, but what about the members who are actually working out? Most machines are out of order and the weights are rarely placed back. Yes, that’s due to members not returning them, but why aren’t the rules being enforced? The gym is overcrowded and even when it’s not (rare), there are people who dominate a machine for more than 10 minutes. The gym is dirty, and you can find sweat left on seats. Puke! This is also due to the lack of air conditioning. When you visit the restroom, you also get to test each sink since only one or two have soap. I know, I know, the owner will read this review and recommend a few things. Fortunately, I have time and have rebuttals prepared to his responses as seen on previous reviews. “Check the crowd meter on the app.” - Yes, I already do. Still, what can be done about the overcrowding and overspent time at a machine by others? “Speak to the staff.” - Their hands are tied and there’s only so much they can do. The poor staff have reached out daily and nothing is done. “Email.” - I have. Sir, your failure to provide a safe and sufficient facility conveys your hypocrisy in the values of PF. Judgment free zone? Does this then translate to: we’re a mess but please don’t judge. I get it, it’s a cheap gym, but that extra $5 recently added to memberships can perhaps go towards some fans around the main floor, or redoing the ac system that has been an issue for numerous summers. Surely, the tax write off for taking on the summer program can be rerouted into the improvements desperately needed at the gym. Thank you. ***Update since owner’s response. They do not care and still state the same generic response as in all reviews. Didn’t even try to fake it. ***Update as of 8/12/24: not much has improved. Some of the machines have been repaired, but it’s still extremely hot in the gym with minimum to zero cool air circulating. The only reason for repairs occurred was due to the uproar on here! More machines will break and until complaints are made, it will be left that way. During the recent heatwave, I had difficulty working out because the temperature was intolerable. I will be canceling soon.

I love this gym, and I was here since last year but there is some concerns. First of all, most treadmills are broken which is really upsetting since they don’t do much about it. Second of all, I asked a guy if he could finish and he said 2 more sets and I was like ok, but he took too long. People should be aware of not using a machine too much and respecting space. Some people give dirty looks such as men or teenage dudes. I love this gym though since it offers a mat and other fun things to do :)

This is the worst gym I have ever worked out at. It is always EXTREMELY crowded, the smith machines always have a ridiculous line (and ofc, no barbells bc its PF), in the summer the second floor was so humid and hot it felt like I was dying every time I went in, the selection of dumbbells is terrible (again, typical of PF) and people regularly stack like 4 sets of dumbbells around themselves just so they dont have to walk back and forth, making it borderline impossible to use free weights to work out. It is the only reasonably priced gym within walking distance of me, and I'm still considering cancelling and walking an extra 20 minutes each way just so i can get a decent workout. unless you ONLY go in for cardio machines, its somehow a ripoff at 10$ a month, and even then, its probably still not worth it because it feels like youre in a sauna whenever its above 60 degrees.
