Orangetheory Fitness

I love Orangetheory. I’m a founding member of the Rockaway since 2019 when it opened. On my last birthday I turned 75. OTF and its coaches have kept me going. They are terrific and I’m in the best shape ever. After Covid I convinced my husband to join as well. Now we both go. I would recommend OTF to everyone. Each class is designed for you to work at what ever level you are at. The coaches make sure that your form is correct to prevent injury. Shout out to all the coaches that we’ve worked with since we joined- Andrea, Amanda, Dom, Henry, Kelly, Kata and Miriam. You are all amazing and thank you for all your encouragement.

I am extremely disappointed with the customer service at the Rockaway Location. My boyfriend and I just arrived for our first class, and we arrived 8 minutes late for the introduction. (8:15 intro for an 8:45 am class ). Due to the tardiness (despite still having 20+ minutes until class time and filling out pre-requisites online) they declined to take us. Horrible taste in the mouth, not a friendly soul in the place. I cannot believe a business would turn away 2 memberships due to being late by 8 minutes for an intro that still had plenty of time to ensue. There was no resolution offered, just made the new customers feel embarrassed and uncomfortable.

Me and my friend signed up for a free class and honestly enjoyed it. After our class we were convinced to do it for a month and we signed up and paid a bit over $100. After we had agreed to cancel before the next month because the price was too high for us and we felt like we could do the workout on our own. We both canceled on an e-document and we were billed for the next month. We were then explained in the most complicated way on why we were billing. Just like any recurring charge you should be billed once every month. We canceled before the next month and lost a month of a membership due to the fact we weren’t told we would be billed. Love the people but the way they went about this was very unprofessional and would definitely tell people, especially college students that are going through it. It’s not worth it. Do the free class and just work out on your own or get a free membership at planet fitness. Biggest mistake i’ve made especially the college financial boat i’m in.

My experience at Orange Theory from January to May was positive, but not without areas for improvement. The coaches and staff were friendly, but there was a lack of proper demonstration and form correction during workouts. Moreover.

Love, love, love OTF Rockaway!! Coaches are great! I love that they encourage everyone throughout the workout no matter your fitness level. They take the time to go around and make sure everyone’s got the right form and are doing the exercises correctly. They always have an alternate if you need one. I have never been a “gym rat” but OTF classes make me want to keep coming back every time! And we can’t leave out the gang that works the front desk at Rockaway - they are great too!!
