24 Hour Fitness

Came in around 10:15-10:25pm and I came specifically because it’s 24 hours. Come to find out basketball courts supposed to close at 10:30pm (it was 11:15pm) gentleman was letting me shoot around for a bit but then had to close the courts which kinda sucked cause I drove from way down past downtown LA but atleast I know for next time.

As a frequent visitor to various locations across Southern California, I must say, this particular gym stands out. It boasts 6 bench presses, 7 squat racks, and 1 Smith machine—ideal for serious gym enthusiasts. The equipment is top-notch, catering to a diverse range of members. The spacious locker rooms are a plus, although there could be more bathroom stalls and a larger sink area. Nevertheless, the abundance of free weights compensates for this. The knowledgeable gym staff ensure a safe and efficient workout environment, complemented by a decent-sized pool and well-maintained main floor. Ample parking space adds convenience, while the cardio room and studio floor provide ample space for various workouts. Safety equipment is readily available throughout the gym, offering peace of mind during emergencies. I particularly appreciate the water filter attached to the water fountain for refilling bottles, a thoughtful touch. Additionally, the signage featuring the 24 Hour Fitness logo against the background of Downtown Los Angeles is truly impressive. It was my first time here. They close the basketball courts at 10:30 pm which is lame because this is a gym that’s open 24 hours. You would think they close the courts to do maintenance but that’s not the case, some courts always need new nets. If you a hooper ❤️ this review or leave your own review so they can think about about changing it back to 24 hours like before.

I’ve been going to this gym for a while, but the level of cleanliness is unacceptable. The equipment is often dirty, and the restrooms are frequently unsanitary, with visible waste left unaddressed. This is not only unpleasant but also a serious health concern. Proper hygiene standards are crucial, especially in shared spaces like gyms. I strongly urge the management to take immediate action to improve the cleanliness of this facility. If these issues persist, it might be necessary for the health department to inspect this gym. Members deserve a safe and sanitary environment to work out.

I came to the Downey 24 Hour Fitness at midnight for a workout, expecting my belongings to be safe in the locker room with my lock securing them. Unfortunately, when I returned after my workout, I discovered that someone had broken into my locker, tampered with my lock, and moved my bag into a different locker. Worse, it appeared that my bag had been gone through. This incident raises serious concerns about the security at this gym. While the staff may not be responsible for personal items, I would expect a facility like this to have better surveillance or preventative measures in place to ensure the safety of members’ belongings. I’m very disappointed by this experience, and I hope management takes steps to improve security and protect its members from incidents like this in the future.
