Updsted: still the equipment maintenance is a big let down; several controls dont work or partially work. Some equipment has disgusting gums stuck in cup holder. It has not been removed and remains for several months now. Equipment calibrations are another big let down. My wife and use 2 equipments side-by-side and one timer runs faster than other. Levels / intensity don't change in some. Previous: Not a great experience one would get in this overcrowded, not well maintained gym. The equipment maintenance is a big sore with several equipments not properly calibrated, damaged etc. There is serious want of proper management attention. Having been a member for close to two years, it is out of no better option in the neighborhood I had to sustain the ordeal. Another thing is finding a parking spot during busy times is almost impossible.

I’ve been with OneLife, off and on, for almost 2/3 years now and while the facilities may be great, the lack of customer service is glaring. I’ve been given incorrect billing information in the past and most recently, my membership was cancelled without my consent. I haven’t violated any policies and wasn’t behind on any payments (the definitely took their money from me in January). I called this club, my home club, to get clarity and they confirmed that they cannot find me in their system as a member. I was encouraged to email Member Services. I emailed to get clarity on the situation on Saturday, when my membership was cancelled, and despite their 24hr response policy, the situation still hasn’t been rectified. I’ve received no updates and no communication besides being asked for my club credentials. Due to this, I am no longer interested in rectifying this issue and continuing/reinstating my membership with OneLife. I don’t value not being able to call and get quick answers/fixes to simple issues I did not create. It seems they may only have one person answering/checking their Member Services inbox and she may be overwhelmed. I do not recommend this gym for the above reasons.

Tldr: too many people, cannot recommend signing a membership. I have been attending this gym for nearly two years. I liked it a lot in the beginning; it would have been 5 stars then. However, it has gotten worse over time, especially as I have noticed over the past 6 months. While it was busy in the beginning of my membership, it still felt functional. Sure, I had to wait for equipment sometimes but it wasn't terrible. It was clean and orderly. My biggest complaint then was folks couldn't put their weights away. (Note: that has not changed!) Now, they are pressing for way more memberships than is sustainable the building, the amount of equipment and most importantly, the parking lot can handle. Also, locker rooms are always wet and kind of gross. Let's talk about parking. There isn't enough!! Let's take today (an open house occurred, because what this gym needs is more people /s) It took SO long to find a spot (~25 min. I wish I was joking. It was purgatory) and had me sweating before I even got to my training session. I'm sure there will be a membership bust and maybe, MAYBE, it will be a functioning gym again. As for me, I will be in the market for a new gym this year.

I’ve been to this gym for many years and been part of Sports & Health club for over a decade, now. I’ll explain why I mentioned Sports & Health in this review later on, but this gym has its pros and cons. I’ve been to many gyms in my lifetime and can’t say this is the best or the worst. If you’re not ok with crowded gym this place is not for you! If you’re not patient this place is not for you because you will have to wait for equipment to be freed up. If you want interactive engaging staff this place is not for you. 3 stars for 3 reason 1. The equipment isn’t the best in my opinion but it gets the job done. Majority of their equipments are produced by lifefitness and they seem durable/well made. Equipments are bound to break or require service and when they do, it gets fixed fairly quickly from my experience. 2. The lighting here is pretty good and helps with motivation. The ambiance is nice, quite motivating, encouraging and modern. 3. The amenities that they have is pretty awesome for what I pay such as salted pool, jacuzzi, sauna and much more. A lot of wipes to clean off equipment is also provided. Minus 2 stars because for a few reasons: 1. The men’s locker room is not always well kept especially the toilets. Dirty toilets, toilet papers on the floors and it’s smelly throughout the entire locker room. The paper towel dispenser seems to always be broken and low on paper. The sauna seems to never be power washed and smells bad like urine. The gym itself is fairly clean but you will see straps, article of clothing in the same spot for weeks so that just tells me they don’t really have anyone going around inspecting the place/cleaning. Weights are not always where they’re suppose to be. 2. The gym is super crowded during peak times and peak times can range from 2pm to 8pm. If you’re not ok with waiting for gym equipment then this gym is not for you. I don’t mind waiting because I’ll find something to do but I can see how other folks would hate it. Losing motivation and pump will happen on some days. You will find people on their phone or just simply spending too much time on equipments. Sometimes they will close off the entire turf and reserve it for members that are being trained. This sucks because the gym is already packed and closing off the turf can limits equipments that can possibly be used. I notice when they close it off certain equipment is not being used at all and we pay for the gym to use the entire gym and the equipment. 3. They broke down half of the basketball court to expand the gym. I’m sure a lot of people joined just for the basketball and now it’s half court! So much people waiting just to play basketball on the sideline now that it’s half the size and just half court. It’s super busy because the Gaithersburg/lakeforest Sports&Health closed down and they sent all their existing members to onelife fitness Rockville and the onelife in Germantown. Onelife bought out Sports&Health back in 2014 and rebrand to Onelife fitness.

This gym feels more like a playground than a fitness facility, with too many people, especially KIDS, running around and playing with the equipment without any knowledge. It’s genuinely concerning for everyone’s safety. The overcrowding makes it hard to use the equipment properly, and the limited capacity is clearly not being enforced, which also raises hygiene concerns.

My kids love it here however I been waiting 40mnts for them to open this section. Call the office and they told me that everything should be open.when I Spoke with the Manager he said that they are having some issues and it’s not safe for the kids. That’s something that should be inform the front door since my kids don’t use the big pool.

Rockville Swim and Fitness Center offers a range of amenities, including three outdoor pools—one Olympic-size for fitness, one recreational pool with a big slide, and a baby pool. Additionally, there's a small waterpark for babies and two indoor pools—one themed as the North Pole and the other as Swim South. They also have a fitness room available. Overall, a great spot for swimming and staying active! #SwimAndFitness #OutdoorPools

Rockville Swim Center Review: Great Facility, But Major Issues The Rockville Swim Center is undeniably a nice facility with good amenities on the surface. However, after attending regularly (2-3 times per week), I’ve noticed several issues that significantly detract from the overall experience. Here’s an honest review based on my experience: 1. Territorial Behavior Among Members One of the biggest problems is that some members seem to believe they “own” the pool. For example, I’ve seen scenarios where 6 swimming lanes are open, yet 3 are occupied by people walking—not swimming. While I understand the importance of water walking for certain individuals, there should be a designated lane for this activity, rather than taking up swimming lanes. What’s worse, if you attempt to swim laps in those lanes, these individuals get upset and act as though you’re intruding on “their” space. It’s frustrating and creates unnecessary tension. 2. Hygiene Issues The lack of basic hygiene among some pool users is appalling. Many people don’t bother to shower before entering the pool, despite it being a standard hygiene practice (and usually a rule). Adding to this, I’ve noticed people wearing water sandals or flip-flops into the pool! These sandals collect dirt from the floors and then bring it into the water, which is highly unsanitary. It’s disappointing to see such a lack of common sense and disregard for pool cleanliness. 3. Group Disruptions (Wannabe Triathlon Teams) Another recent trend I’ve observed is groups of people claiming they are part of a triathlon team. They enter the pool and try to push individual swimmers (like me) into more crowded lanes so they can take over a lane for their group. This is inconsiderate and unfair, especially when you’ve already been swimming peacefully in your lane. I refuse to move when I’ve claimed a lane first, but their behavior creates unnecessary conflict. 4. The Summer Madness As frustrating as the regular issues are, summer is an entirely different story. The crowding and lack of etiquette are amplified tenfold during this season. It becomes nearly impossible to enjoy the pool, and the chaos makes the experience even more unpleasant. And the price is not budget friendly

I visited this pool a dozen times last month, and I was impressed enough to get a year membership today. They have a spacious and excellent gym with a wide variety of exercise machines. They have 2 inside pools, and an Olympic size 50 meter pool outside. The restrooms are also terrific. Highly Recommended!

The kids enjoyed the outdoor pool area immensely. We cycled through from the beach zone to the deeper area, to the water playground, to the diving boards to the water slide. The pool was great fun for all. Our group was ages 2,4,7, 9, and 11. If you live in Rockville, get your residence card from the main office before visiting, and you save $1 per person on admission, which was inexpensive anyway.

Climbing Gym to Daycare. What was once a great Earth Treks climbing gym, where members shared a vibe of respect and enthusiasm for rock climbing, has become a corporate center appealing to parents with no passion for climbing as a place to dump their children. These children run free, unsupervised, either taking over the wall and blocking access for others to climb or wandering dumbfounded underneath climbers awaiting injury.

Awesome place to rock climb! This place has literally everything you need to have a blast. This place also has a gym to workout and to work on your grip. They also sell cloths, climbing shoes, harness and energy drinks. 5 stars for 5 reasons 1. Great customer service is also provided by the staff! Everyone is literally friendly and nice. 2. Climbs that accommodate all age range from easy to difficult! Different section have different heights. Super fun climbs! 3. There is a gym that is under renovation but they literally have dumb bells, bench press and many more machines. There is also grip strength equipment as well. 4. Bouldering is awesome as well and super fun. Every so often they switch it up and it’s fun. 5. Price is relatively decent for what you get. I pay 108 per month and i think it’s worth it if you go often.

Hey Movement, Time for a little of tough love. I’ve been a member since 2012. The last few month I’ve been bringing to your attention that the lead ropes are in a poor shape. Every single visit I had to ask for a rope in a “better shape”…today my replacement rope (pictured) didn’t meet a basic check either. Your membership isn’t cheap but regardless of the price those ropes are what keep us safe. Today, two other parties also asked for better ropes. Are we waiting for an accident before you guys do what we’re paying for? I hate to be posting this but my repeated feedback seems to be falling on deaf ears. I don’t remember having this issue when the gym was EarthTreks…

Great experiences climbing here! The staff is great, the vibe is chill, and facility is clean. It is safe and people are courteous. There are a variety of different climbing paths for different skill levels. The bouldering is fun as well. It's not the largest climbing gym in the area, but definitely offers a great space and nice facilities.

--- EDIT June 2, 2022 --- Management has raised prices TWICE in the past few months.. since they changed to Movement. They are now $100 for no new legit services or perks and they have awful guest pass rates of 6 PER PLAN PER YEAR. The air conditioning barely, if ever, seems to work. Very disappointing. Will most likely be canceling or at least freezing. -- OG post -- It’s great all around. Friendly staff, lots of climbing routes for both bouldering and top rope / lead climbing. Not bad for their membership price either.

I have been member for 5 years, and recently terminated my membership due to their mishandling of my credit card on file. Most front desk folks aren’t professional with their service. Previous manager Mike tried his best, but now that he is relocated there’s really not much in terms of proper management. Had good time as a regular but for the lack of proper management.

The gym itself is a 3-star gym. Nothing particularly good, but it has what you expect from a basic gym. However, the process of cancelling a membership is slow, inconvenient, and costly. I moved away from the gym, and needed to cancel my membership. There is no way to conveniently cancel online. After 2 weeks of calling them to cancel, I was still being charged for my membership. I eventually reached a representative on week 3, and my cancellation request was honored. The catch to that you cannot cancel immediately, but for 30 days out, during which they charge you. While I initially requested cancellation of my membership on Sept. 3, 2024, my request was not honored until Sept. 17, and so they are keeping my membership active until Oct. 17 and charging me for that time. That comes to 3 bi-weekly membership fees totaling about $60 after my initial cancellation request, for a gym I'm not close enough to conveniently visit.

The front desk worker, Mark, has an aggressive temperament and acts like he owns the gym, creating an uncomfortable environment. He stares intently at members while they are working out, including females, looking for an opportunity to harass them and let his anger out at a minority. He is often friendly to white members and will walk to their machines and chat loudly, disturbing the other members who are trying to workout. Read the reviews and you'll see the complaints from minorities and praises from white members. No gym should have these many reviews about the front desk guy. Someone with anger management issues should not be working the front desk let alone have access to the personal information of the members. Management will not do anything about it except provide a canned response, it's clear this has been going on for years. I felt discriminated against and do not recommend this gym. Actions reveal values and this is clearly a gym that does not value diversity, inclusion and respect.

This place is soooooo old, most of the machines have something wrong with them. Lots of wasted space with broken cardio equipment. They also gave me a $5 discount, then took it away after a few month. Please fix your equipment!

Heat is turned off in the gym when it is 30 degrees outside . Freezing inside the gym. Terrible!
