Planet Fitness is known for its affordability and welcoming atmosphere, but today’s visit highlighted some of its downsides. The location was bustling with gym enthusiasts, which is great for energy but made the space feel a bit cramped. With equipment packed tightly together, it left little room to breathe or move comfortably between workouts. Despite the crowded feel, everything else seemed well-maintained, and the overall experience was consistent with what you’d expect from Planet Fitness—clean, functional, and accessible. Still, a little more open space would have made the visit feel less overwhelming.

No bike racks provided. They don’t seem to care of the issue of where to station bikes. I had brought my bike to the lobby considering the circumstance but store associates referred to a “policy listed at the front”. I’ve read it and made noticed that there’s no clause pertaining to stationing or bikes… so I asked management to email me the policy. Management did email me, they also couldn’t show any proof of a made up policy that they aggressively taunt gym goers with. Very unprofessional. It’s the first time I’ve had an issue with Planet Fitness considering other locations have station racks or allow indoor placement for their customers. This location seems not to care enough to take any responsibility to accommodate their customers. Hopefully they can add a rack or come up with a better solution. Overall- nice facility, poor service. Hi- in response to email, I already contacted the regional manager. The issue is there is no bike station / rack… even after years of previous customers complaining, the issue remains there is still no accommodation. I’ll take my money to a local gym that can offer what I need. Thanks again.

This location is ok. It's conveniently located, there is a lot of parking, and depending on what time you go, it's not SUPER crowded like the nearby Fishtown PF. However, the amount of machines makes no sense to me. There are a ton of ellipticals that are almost never used (I've only ever seen a handful of people on these even when the gym is super crowded) and so many treadmills (even when a decent handful of people use them, there are still so many empty treadmills taking up so much space). But then there are only one or two of each of the weight-lifting machines, which are the machines people actually want to use. There seems to always be at least one broken machine, which even further reduces the equipment that people actually want available to them. The weight-lifting machines are located around the front perimeter of the space, so it's always crowded there while the rest of the gym is completely empty. Why not get rid of an entire row of ellipticals and treadmills and fill that space with more weight-lifting machines so people aren't all crammed into one area? Seems like whoever laid out the space and picked the machines did not actually consider what people want from this type of gym. I've been to other locations that make way more sense in terms of available equipment (the Drexel Hill location is one of the better ones in this sense). This is also a location where I see ton of people NOT wipe machines after they use them. It's pretty annoying to have to wipe a machine before and after use because I can't trust that I'm not touching someone else's sweat.

The staff at this gym were very unprofessional and rude. No one was at the front desk, friends of the staff just hanging out. I had to look for a staff member. As an active duty military member, I use active & fit to access gyms while I am on leave. The staff members turned me away because they didn’t understand how the active and fit program worked. After telling and showing the staff my day pass agreement they simply said we can’t help you. Worst Planet Fitness and Staff I have ever encountered.

Great coaches, great community, and great workouts! I had not gone to the gym on any kind of consistent basis for YEARS, but I now find myself going at least 3-4x/week. The workouts are challenging (in the best way possible) - I always leave feeling like I’ve worked hard and accomplished something. The coaches are knowledgeable, provide personalized attention, and ensure that you’re doing all the movements correctly and safely. Definitely stronger and healthier thanks to CFR!

Joining CFR 2.5 years ago was hands-down one of the best decisions I've ever made. You won't find a more welcoming group of people, and I take aaaaaages to warm up so that's really saying something! Thanks to these folks, I'm in the best physical and mental shape of my life at 40 years old (or is it young?). I'm looking forward to continuing here for years to come. Hats off to all the coaches for a job well done. ✨️

Great format and culture! The small personal training sessions are perfect for ensuring good form in strength training. The format holds me accountable to show up and get in my work outs. The trainers are knowledgeable and friendly. They are always willing to answer questions or suggest alternate workouts for me. They take safety and correct form more seriously than other gyms/trainers I’ve tried. I appreciate that the gym has similar participation from men and women, and the members are friendly and welcoming.

Cedar Street Personal Training is the place where back fat goes to die and muscles come to party. It's where you trade your Chick-fil-A sauce for resistance bands and your couch for a sweat session with Nick, the muscle maestro. The atmosphere? So electric, you'll think you're at a concert, not a gym. And the results? They sneak up on you like a ninja in the night, leaving you sore in places you didn't know existed. If you're looking to transform from a 'before' picture to an 'after' that will have everyone swiping right, Cedar Street is your fitness matchmaker.

I’ve been going to Cedar Street Personal Training since June 2024 and I wish I started sooner! I was reluctant to join having little to no weight training experience but I came to the right place. The owner, Nick, is so friendly and helpful! The gym has flexible hours and an easy app included to schedule classes. Joe is my trainer and he’s great! He really takes the time to make sure my form is correct and motivates me to do better every class. I’ve hit so many personal records in just a short amount of time. I love this gym!

Pound for pound, in my opinion, the most welcoming community for personal fitness training in Philadelphia. Nick has brought his vision to life: a place where anyone can feel welcome, accepted, and more than capable of achieving beyond their fitness goals. It’s not the biggest place, but the design is highly functional with all the latest equipment. The staff is made of certified trainers who are knowledgeable, thoughtful, and charismatic. They prioritize safety, education, and what is right for your personal needs and objectives over tossing weights around (but if you’re into that, there’s space for you here too!) I am forever grateful for choosing Cedar Street to get my fitness journey back on track. As a former athlete turned dad and office 9-5er, it filled a space for me that provides physical and mental benefits, and the discipline to stay on track with my personal fitness in a life with lots of competing priorities. I highly recommend it for any person that wants to join a community and find out what they are capable of!

I started coming to this location about 2 weeks ago when the Planet Fitness i normally go to on Roosevelt Blvd closed. And at first I was a little discombobulated because I was so used to going to my home gym for years. The manager Genisis was aware of the closing situation and Welcomed me to her gym. She answered every question I had and all the staff we friendly and polite. But the thing i was the most impressed with was the supervisor, Genisis... she always has a friendly smile, she is constantly cleaning the machine and work out area. She is never to busy to answer questions and it is for this reason I am going to make this my home gym. I would definitely recommend this location to all of my family and friends who are looking for a ckean, respectful place to get fit 💪!!!!

Always a car parked in front of the handicapped access ramp.... wish they would do something about that as there is literally a senior medical center next door that needs that ramp to be accessible.... And assholes play music on their phones without headphones. And employees don't do a damn thing about it. It's trash.

It’s always either dirty or crowded. I don’t enjoy coming here. Suppose to be no egos coming in the gym but the egos start right at the door w some of the staff that work there. One in particular is borderline harassing me. They must get paid $20 a month off my membership or something. I do not recommend. If you can afford another gym go elsewhere

Where to begin!!!! Place be crowded 99% of the time. A lot of young kids just taking up the machines for selfies. Also, the staff allows random membership holders to hold “fitness classes” especially the one dude that is always here at night harassing the young ladies into letting him trained them, today was an example, a whole area of the gym taken by this senior citizen supposedly training women, because he prefers to train women. Staff saw all this and did nothing!!!!! I miss Blink Fitness. Your gym sucks.

This location is very clean and organized. It’s nice to come and find the weights on the racks instead of having to walk around the gym for 5-10 minutes locating equipment like I had to at the Cottman location. It’s also nice that it’s less crowded instead of with a bunch of teenagers standing around on their phones. And the bathrooms and showers are clean.

Clean gym. Nice people. Lots of parking. Good staff. HOWEVER! The air conditioning and heating system seem to be fighting it out. There are blasts of cold air and pockets of hot drafts all over the gym. And the back area is like a jungle, hot and humid.

I don’t particularly like exercising but Angela’s spin class on Tuesdays and Thursdays is my exception! She’s very kind and upbeat to everyone regardless of experience and fitness levels. She always explains everything but lets you know to go at your own pace. She mixes in local musical artists so I feel like I’m learning about Philly music as a bonus. The other regulars in the class are very nice and it’s fun to see them regularly. I should probably check out the gym and other classes but really I keep my membership for Angela’s classes.

This location has some of the best staff I’ve ever encountered! The workers are incredibly friendly, always greet you with a smile, and are super helpful whenever you need assistance. The gym itself is clean, well-maintained, and has all the basic equipment you’d expect. That said, be cautious if you plan to use the locker room. Make sure you bring a lock if you’re leaving valuables in a locker, as there have been instances of theft. It’s a shame because the facility itself is great, but you can’t be too careful with your belongings. Overall, a solid place to work out, and the amazing staff really makes it stand out!

Majority of children activities are all set forth and scheduled. So one need to be prepared to follow their schedule in order to part take in most children activities. This mainly includes but does not disclose GYM. For the children's physical activities which varies different age groups and schools I would assume. I always thought schools had their own GYM activities at their own location? Not sure, why they hosting entire after school programs there at the Y? Much has changed since I came up. I guess if you can meet their schedule and pay extra for some activities, you can make it work for you and your family. The experience was an enlighten one, on the down side. Children were expecting a nice swim. So disappointed they both became, no pool nor GYM for that day. Their first time interacting. They do have some out going staff there especially in the children's day care center. Takes time to get used to it and aline your schedule around theirs or pay to fit in. It's like this one pink rose my four year old Granddaughter nursed to life again. It had to adjust and fit in once it was given the proper nourishment and location. I simply thought it was time to dispense it? Move on, but my Granddaughter decided to deal with it keep going at it. After playing with it for two or three days. Moral of this story, give yourself some time. To adjust to their schedule and grow as you go alongside of other's. This way you can adjust as your family are being nurtured into different activities. Shalom.......

I was struggling to get into a routine with exercise for years and decided to try a trainer. I was matched with Kelly at Train and Nourish, and it’s been a great experience. She’s positive, encouraging, and always changes up what we’re doing so it never gets boring. Kelly also strikes a great balance of challenging my limits while still respecting them. I’ve been working with her for a few months and have noticed positive changes in my posture, day-to-day strength, and confidence. I also feel like I’m learning a lot of general knowledge I can use when exercising by myself. Kelly is also flexible scheduling-wise which has been helpful with my work schedule. Very happy with my experience here!

I am beyond grateful that I found Train & Nourish this Summer. As a middle aged client with bi-lateral knee and a spine surgery, I was worried I would not "fit in" to a fitness routine. I worked with Sloane - the most amazing and kind trainer. I exceeded my goals with her gentle, yet rigorous routines and fantastic coaching. I have never felt more welcomed and comfortable in a fitness situation. Thank you so much. I can't begin say enough about how wonderful my experience has been. I started working out at Train & Nourish back in August of 2023. I was recovering from injuries and wanted to get back into exercise in a way that would allow me to strengthen and recover. I had the pleasure of working with Marta, who has been crafting personalized workouts for me and has shown me that I am stronger than I ever knew I could be. As someone who was new to working out in a gym setting, Marta was patient and demonstrated how to do the exercises correctly, so I could properly heal and gain strength. 11 months in and I can tell you that I arrive early for most, if not all of my sessions, because of the positive and amazing community at Train & Nourish. I have never felt more comfortable walking into a gym and I genuinely look forward to working up a sweat. All of the trainers are friendly, kind and motivating women -- if you're looking to get into a supportive and personalized gym, this is your spot!

I’ve been a T&N client for nearly 2 years and I am so thankful for this space! My current trainer, Marta, is a total badass and I am so proud of what I’ve achieved while training with her. She’s incredibly knowledgeable in physical therapy and body mechanics, and always takes the time to demonstrate the proper movements and explain the goal of each exercise. When I was working through an injury, she adjusted our workout and made sure that I knew how to properly rest and rehab my body between sessions. I am so glad that I got to work with Marta and will miss her a bunch when she heads to new opportunities next month. T&N trainers are talented, patient, and motivating. It is welcoming and safe space for women - highly recommend.
