The fact that I can come at ANYTIME to the night/day makes this gym perfect! Mendy welcomes everyone with open arms and helps anyone and everyone out when they need it. You will always find it clean and the gym has everything a powerlifter 🙋♀️ needs! So happy to be part of the Mendy family!

Scot the owner is a real professional and super friendly man. Love this guy and his gym! The gym has everything you need when it comes to weights, machine's and some of which are very rare to find at any gym! I love that some specific equipments at Mendy's are very therapeutic for heavy lifters and anyone that has experienced injuries (which you won't find at commercial gyms). And the cage area for boxing and MMA is the perfect combo for lifting and cardio training! I highly respect this gym and Scot for everything he's done to create a great environment for sports athletes, bodybuilders, powerlifters, etc. Definitely worth the investment!

So I've been to other gyms and they just give you a membership and they throw you to the wolfs ..... What I love about Mendy's Gym is that it's a family environment! He knows all his members by name and has personal relationships with each and every one of them....... And Scott ..... With all the accolades and championships that he has is one of the most humbled person I've met..... One experience I'd like to share is one day I got to the gym was working out and I normally work out with headphones because I listen to a certain artist , and Scott asked me what was I listening to then I told him and then he put the artist on the Bluetooth so I can hear it throughout the gym that day ........ Very good place and I love it there! Can't wait to see you guys there!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I want to take a moment to commend Maria Torres, the manager at the newly opened Planet Fitness location in Van nuys,on Sepulveda. From the very beginning, Maria has been an absolute asset to this facility. Her consistent professionalism, warm demeanor, and unwavering courtesy set the bar for what exceptional customer service and managerial leadership should look like. Every time I walk into the gym, Maria greets everyone with a genuine smile and a welcoming attitude. She is always helpful, answering questions with patience and clarity, and never once have I seen her display anything but positivity and professionalism. Maria’s dedication to creating an inviting and supportive environment makes this Planet Fitness stand out. She exemplifies what it means to lead by example, ensuring that both the staff and members feel valued and appreciated. Planet Fitness is lucky to have such an outstanding individual representing their brand. Thank you, Maria, for making every visit a great experience! Lastly, housekeeping at this facility is five star. This facility is super clean and kept tidy even the restrooms.

I've been a staple at this gym literally every day for the most part since the beginning of the year. I can honestly say that this club, its members, and its staff have collectively made it the best experience anywhere in the valley for me in an extremely long time regarding overall health club enjoyment. The staff is fantastic (even though there's a lot of turnover which is unfortunate because I tend to get attached to the employees and they become friends to me). Everyone new who comes in seems to be trained properly and are very good at interacting with the members. Michael and Diana at the front desk are Rockstars. They always have a smile on their face, welcome everyone with a genuine smile and hello, and are extremely hard workers. Maria, the club's mananger is fantastic. She's always available and attentive to people's needs or concerns based on my observations. The club itself is very clean and well maintained. The only issue I ever had was their AC didn't work for quite a few months (working wonderfully now though). I don't take away from my review for this as I know it was not anyone at the club level that could've fixed it sooner. There's definitely a disconnect between corporate and local levels that absolutely needs correcting but again, the staff had nothing to do with that problem so I don't hold it against them or my review of the club whatsoever. They were the ones suffering the most given the amount of time they had to spend in a sweat box each day. (Again, the AC works perfectly now just to reiterate) I've been to plenty of Planet Fitness locations throughout California and in my humble opinion, Van Nuys has the best atmosphere out of all them so far for me personally and I am so proud/happy to call this place my second home!

Planet Fitness is amazing! The place is huge, super clean, and packed with fresh cardio machines. The staff are friendly, and after a killer workout, you get to chill in a massage chair. Membership is a steal. Only bummer is the free weights area could use more space and parking can be a pain at peak times. Totally worth it though!

Me and my girlfriend have been evacuated from the recent fires and have been staying in our car for a couple of weeks. We had the bright idea of using our Planet Fitness black card memberships so we can use the proper facilities. While charging our phones in the black card lounge, the general manager came up to us and told us we cannot sit in the lounge or use any outlets to charge our phones and asked us to leave. She accused us of unplugging some massage seats, which we did not, And told us we can’t sit in the lounge area. After me and my partner told her that we didn’t unplug anything and we just plugged directly into an outlet, she accused us of tampering with the seats by plugging our phones into an outlet. I want to see the scientific data behind this. She was unprofessional and very rude. It’s not our fault that we can’t return to our apartment. This place could’ve easily gotten five stars, but she had a treat us like we didn’t belong there. We will not be coming back to the Sepulveda location and Planet Fitness is not judgment free because as two unhoused people born and raised in LA, we were judged and called loiterers.

This is a pretty good gym with decent late-night hours during the week and a new and clean facility. There's usually always two people at the front desk if you need anything also. Bathroom and showers are well taken care of also. I only wish they'd give black card members 15 minutes on the hydromassage beds. Most of the black card amenities have a 10 minute limit.

I visited a few days ago, hoping to run on a treadmill. There are no prices listed, and they wouldn't tell me what the prices were. They said to "go online." I asked, "There's no way that you can just tell me what the prices are and have me pay? I'm literally standing here in the gym at the counter." They said no. So I went to my phone, and after 5 minutes of slow service, I finally got on their site. The prices were very confusing. $25 for a month, $9.99 for a month for this gym, but you have to pay for a year, but you can cancel after 2 months, but you'll only have to pay $9.99 today, but you can't sign up until you register, but you can't register unless you also agree to ads, emails, and data collection... When I complained that I would just like to pay to use the gym in a simple way, the manager explained that their business model is to get referrals and spread by people bringing their friends and then getting their business...I'm not sure why he told me this. I was literally standing there ready to give them money, but being required to jump all of these hurdles have nothing to do with using the gym. This is an awful business model. I eventually just left. If you can tolerate abhorrent corporate exploitation and nonthinking employees, then I'm sure you'll be fine. Seemed like a decent gym.

The ads they have for these gyms are misleading!! DO NOT SIGN UP! This was my first time ever signing up for a gym membership and I was left extremely disappointed. They started calling me a week later day in and day out. My card was charged SEVERAL times throughout the day and in the middle of the night. I finally got in touch with the manager. THE MANAGER JOSE IS INCOMPETENT and should focus on managing his emotions instead of a poorly ran gym. Perhaps he should have honored the discounted promotion but he’d rather hang up in your face. This place sucks and I’ll be a loyal gym member somewhere tf else.

Has all the equipment I need. Staff is nice. At the time I go and workout, the vibe is good. 24/7 is excellent for me. The only negative I have about the place is that it is a bit dark.

I recently joined Crunch Fitness and have been thoroughly disappointed, mainly due to the incredibly rude staff. From the very beginning, the front desk employees have been dismissive and unhelpful. When I asked for assistance with setting up my membership, they acted as if I was a burden and barely gave me the time of day. The trainers are no better. Instead of offering encouragement or guidance, they seem more interested in chatting amongst themselves or checking their phones. When I asked for help with a particular machine, I was met with an eye roll and a curt response, making me feel like I was interrupting their free time. To make matters worse, any time I've had an issue with billing or scheduling, the customer service has been abysmal. The representatives are not only uncooperative but downright condescending. They seem annoyed by any inquiries and are quick to dismiss concerns without offering any real solutions. The overall atmosphere at Crunch Fitness is unwelcoming and hostile. The staff's rude behavior makes it difficult to feel comfortable or motivated. I regret joining and will be looking for a gym where respect and customer service are prioritized. Save your money and avoid this place if you value being treated with basic decency

My experience at Crunch Fitness was very disappointing. I recently moved to the area and booked a 7-day membership pass online. When I arrived the next day, the manager said it had expired and only allowed me to try the gym for one day. While that was rude, I decided one day would be enough to explore the gym. The worst part was receiving an email about my card being left at the gym. When I went to retrieve it, the staff said only the manager knew about it, and he wasn't there. On my second visit, the manager seemed impatient and claimed they didn’t have my card. Apparently, they don’t keep lost items at the gym. The staff was consistently rude and unprofessional, making it difficult to feel welcome. The gym was not well-maintained and lacked basic hygiene standards. It was small, with outdated and malfunctioning equipment. Overall, I would not recommend Crunch Fitness. There are better gyms in the area with superior facilities and a more respectful atmosphere.

I’ve been with Barbarian Barbell for the past 4 and a half years and cannot recommend this gym enough. If you’re looking for a place to start weightlifting, improve your technique, or find a new gym, this place is just for you! Emmy and Kristin are the most supportive, kind, and dedicated coaches I have ever met. They have helped me refine my technique, reach new personal records, and have been there for me when I needed someone to talk to. Because of them, I have been able to compete with confidence at both the local and national levels. The facility itself is exceptional — there are many platforms, plates, bars, and free weights to work from so you don’t have to worry about it being busy compared to a commercial gym. Sharing with others is not a problem even on busy days since everyone is very friendly. There is also a 24-hour access option which is perfect for individuals who have busy work-life schedules and need more flexibility for access. The people at Barbarian Barbell are some of the nicest, friendliest, and most supportive team you’ll ever meet. If you’re looking for a community that pushes you to do your best, you will have no problem finding that here.

Barbarian Barbell is where I discovered my passion for competitive Olympic-style weightlifting, and I’ve never looked back. Since joining, I’ve reached a level of fitness I never thought possible. Coach Emmy’s incredible skill, expertise, and dedication have not only transformed my body but also my entire lifestyle. My functional fitness, coordination, and overall health have significantly improved, and my weightlifting technique has advanced leaps and bounds. Over the years, I’ve hit personal records I’m incredibly proud of, all thanks to the top-notch coaching and supportive environment. Weightlifting has become my sport of choice, and I plan to stick with it for the long haul!

From the dozen or so PF locations, this has to be the best. Granted I work out 2am, the place is in pristine condition. Staff are very awake, responsive, and helpful. Each time I work out here, I feel like they just opened this facility up. I was fooled by the appearance of the parking lot, but thank God I did not judge that gym by its cover.

I’ve worked out At Gold’s Gym in North Hollywood since 1997. Except for the Covid policies of making people wear masks while working out, I love the gym. Community, serious training and good equipment. The homeless camps in the park outside are a sad sight as are seeing so many businesses disappear over the years but miraculously Gold’s is still standing and I am still lifting.
