Best Gyms with Resistance Machines near El-paso, Texas

This is already a mediocre gym out of the plan of uses around the area now the lighting is absolutely horrible. It's like hospital lighting. It is not easy at all so when you come in, it just makes it absolutely miserable.. I do not recommend will be searching for a new gym at this point. Let's work out in the bright sun.

the staff is rude AS HELL. i recently went to this location with my mom as i didn’t want her to go alone and planned on sitting at one of the tables in the front (where people are allowed to sit) while i waited for her. an employee stopped us immediately and told my mom she needed to sign me in as a guest, to which she said i was not going to work out just sit in the front. this employee proceeded to say “well we don’t babysit here.” mind you i am a 5’4 girl wearing dark makeup currently attending COLLEGE. the manager later came to apologize but not after him and the employee who made that remark were practically gossiping like teenagers behind the counter looking at me. not to mention the lack of professionalism when it comes to the massage chairs, some days they allow my mom to bring guests and other times stop her and say she can’t bring anyone. we’re seriously reconsidering switching gyms because this place is nothing but a joke.

Only one quad extension machine, many trendmills in bad condition, never enough paper towels to clean up machines. Also, if you have questions regarding your membership or your contract, staff won't help you, they will just answer whatever BS to get it over with. At this point I really regret having chosen Planet Fitness.

The staff is excellent and atmosphere is great. Lots of machines and great perks. The black card membership is worth it. I transfered from anytime fitness, and I love it here.

You all are never open. So much for 24/7. I’ll be going to a different gym that allows multiple people and not multiple charges or one person needing to be there to represent the main account holder. See y’all later.

Amazing gym has everything you need, the owners are amazing, they will always greet you. Gym is super clean and they always have all the equipment in place.. They also have many amazing trainers that can fit your needs.. Highly recommend this gym.

Out of all the gyms ive been to, probably my favorite. Always great vibes with the music, lighting, and staff. love the 24/7 availability. Shout out Tasha, super welcoming and always working on keeping equipment clean.

Gym has everything you need to get your fix. Sauna and even a cold plunge. Shakes and Meal Preps are always a plus. Always Admin working. Tasha was able to let me in the recovery room thank you for letting me in! Everyone is cool

In town because of work and decided to stop by today. The staff was absolutely fantastic, the gym is nicely organized, and very clean. I absolutely loved the black card lounge. Totally would’ve given five stars except on the weekends they are only open from 7 AM to 7 PM.

Why isn't open 24 hours anymore?late 2am is when I was able to work out I have night shifts I'm thinking canceling my membership I couldn't work out at any other time of the day 😔 at least leave one gym open on the town I'mwilling to drive 20miles👎

It's becoming a lack of safety for working out all the dam benches move around ..due to the beaches missing screws to keep from moving around ...a lot of machines are not in working order ..poor management

If I could give a negative stars I would!!!! Long rant incoming We moved over a year ago and tried to cancel our membership due to not having a location near me. They informed me I had to finish out my year due to the contract I signed we agreed to and then they auto renewed my contract without my permission. We are nit 2 years out from the start date and still they will not close it they now state that they have no idea who I talked to that told me they were going to cancel my membership but it has nothing noted on my account. AND STILL THEY WILL NOT CANCEL!! This business is a scam!!! They want another $99 stating that I had 2 months of missed payments after the renewal of contract. DO NOT SIGN UP no matter how good the deal looks there is a reason it looks to good to be true! Because they scam their customers! We ended up with only a few months of use and paid for years of service. BEWARE!!!!

This place is ridiculous. You guys cannot keep any employees if you tried. I came this afternoon to 10. There was nobody in front over 35 minutes people waiting upfront. I come back this evening. Same thing they don’t know how to turn on the tanning bed. horrible you guys should just shut down already. You’ve already cut your hours. You might as well just close down. Customer service the way you guys run everything horrible!!!! Tran your employees already

Would give this gym 5 stars but noticed recently that all the TVs are always off or paused. Restrooms are always excessively smelly and never have paper towels. Good gym but could be better.

For me it's the best away gym when I'm in town visiting. 2nd time now and zero disappointment! Staff is phenomenal (Special shout out to Jenn Moreno 🤜🏼🤛🏼) and the equipment is perfect for big boi lifters. New toys just in are amazeballz!! You're ever in the EP area, as an experienced bodybuilder, I strongly recommend Powerhouse Gym 👊🏼 Great anabolic lighting for exceptional progress pics and the posing room lighting can be tailored to your preference... 5 ⭐️'s .. Always a clean facility and super friendly staff!! Even all the other members are just so welcoming. Its by far, the most comfortable gym ive ever been a part of! Jen Moreno is always friendly and helpful and just over all helps make the workout experience better!!

I absolutely love coming here. Besides it being convenient with childcare, the staff is very helpful and friendly. In particular, Jen is usually there when i work out and shes so sweet and extremely helpful. She has a very positive attitude and answers all my questions and concerns. Staff like the one here really makes a difference especially for someone like me who would be very timid to go to the gym.

Is the best gym in town , everything is brand new. Huge facility. Two saunas for men and two for woman. Big variety of new equipment. Employees are very friendly and facility is always clean. Just added a wall for the shower for more privacy, great 👍🏻 ideal 👌. Awesome 😎 gym. 🤩 Only bad thing is the sauna (infrared) didn't like it .

I showed up at 4:30am to workout. I pulled up to the building and all the lights are off and not an employee in sight. No signs on the doors to let members know if there is a issue. This is not the first it has happened where the employees show up late to open. Totally unprofessional. Crunch fitness here I come.

I recently joined and I’ve had a great experience so far! I am new to having a gym routine and the amenities like the lift lab, sauna room, and the movie theater make it fun to go to the gym! I love it. They also have a smoothie bar and it’s convenient and reasonably priced. Only downside I’ve noticed is that the AC should be turned a little higher in the lift lab and main area.

The AC never works or they’re keeping it off it’s way too hot in the gym at all times There are not enough, wipe down stations in close proximity to most of the equipment. I always have to go and look for one I can only imagine how many people don’t wipe their equipment down because they can’t find a wipe down station and I guess the gym decided to remove the heavy bags and the curl machines which really pisses me off, considering the price that I’m paying to use that equipment this top management don’t know how to run a gym seems to me there just try to cut back on things we pay to use and why can’t they stay open till 10pm or 9:00pm on the weekend and the workout equipment is unorganized and what happened to the hot tub?!

Moved over from Crunch to Chuze, but when I went in, the woman helping up front was no help. I wanted to get their special I was emailed about and she was making me get the most expensive plan for the special to be applied although that’s not what the advertisement says. I politely said, thank you and walked away and just hopped online to receive the promotion with the plan of my choosing. Maybe she was ignorant to the promotion, but she really did not care to check for me which I did not appreciate. The variety of equipment offered is the only reason I continued to sign up, but I know to expect less than helpful service in the future.

This new CEO doesn't offer a cash option. I use ro have the 199.00 for 18 months, then this past year I had the 99.00 membership which was very convenient for me. Now, with all these options of clubs in town matching our cash options for up to two years I would think if they wanted members to stay they would offer it too keep members at there facility. I would hope they would offer at least one of those plans, and that would be convenient for a lot of people. In closing there is lots of competition in the club ( gym industries) I would think they would want to bring more people in or at least keep the ones they have.

I've been working out with one of the trainers here for the past four months. Eddie is always friendly, very encouraging, and he pushes me waaaay harder than I'd ever push myself. Not only do I get a great workout, but I also get great value out of my membership :)

I had a great experience... I had the opportunity to try the gym with one day free and definitely i will get the membership.. Staff was very nice and the location was clean. They have a good variety of machines...

It is a good planet better than others but in general planet fitness does not have a time limit usage for machine’s.Not even machines when there is only one type of that machine. Have try many different locations since I have the black card and in the 3 of them I have been people are not respectful of others time. They will be on a machine like 20 minutes and this is because they are using their cellphone not because they are doing their routine. I have encounter even people being in a machine 30 minutes and when asked they say they just barely got it lol. I go at 6 7 am it is not super pack but still encountered this a lot. Will recommend only to pay normal membership and be there 3 months and change after if you really want to keep exercising. If you just want to do cardio a bit of other machines then you will be ok, and if you don’t mind not using a machine most of the time because of the issue of people being on their cellphones. If you are like me and go to gym to exercise and not use your phone because you are really into your routine, then,as I have experience planet is a good place to start your journey but change to a better gym where people do go exercise and are respectful of other time etc(many people also don’t clean after they use the equipment or put in place the weights). Also, other aspect is that equipment is always out of order and sometimes it takes them a month to fix the equipment. Updated after owner answer. I had talk up to staff but they do nothing that there are no rules for cellphone usage and time limit. To be honest, they seem that they don’t want to be there. And lately when I arrive like at 6, 6:30 am there is no one there on front so no check in so I guess anyone even without a membership Can get in

Fix your equipment...I can't workout because of missing pins a lot of them missing pins common! That's only a few of them.

Terrible customer service no desire to help you or be compassionate towards your physical state. All they care about is taking your money and are not reasonable. They make it so difficult to cancel or even pause a membership. Never coming back here

This is the closest location to me I go here everyday I have no problems with this location like I do with the other ones. I only wish they had some machines that the other locations have like shoulder machines and also wish they would fix machines faster

I come here every once in a while and boy I love it! I've brought my disabled brother here too and the staff- especially the guys are so accommodating and serviceful as well as patient with us. The guy with the glasses, been there a while, -" thank you man!" Although it pains me to say I am canceling due to better promos and machines at newer gyms, the staff is whats kept me here coming up and staying longer than I should! Pebble Hills locale needs to be like minded!

Jasmin the morning trainer is awesome! She is very tentative with her clients and takes the time to maintain the cleanliness of the facility. Additionally, she is friendly, courteous, and helpful. Glenn, the gym manager is always attentive and helpful.

Great at first but for how expensive it is it’s kind of falling apart. There has been a bar that’s been bent for about 6 months now, most bars have lost their grip, the scale goes weeks without batteries, and the trainer takes up the entire turf on peak hours area for 2 people. I understand it’s busy, towels go fast, etc - that’s fine. But basic gym equipment needs and maintenance is overlooked and there is A LOT of competition nearby.

My first time being consistent at the gym. Felt comfortable, the staff the other gym peeps are cool and nice. Willing to help and never shy away. It's super clean and recommended it!

Sign up for this gym if you don't mind ever changing staff and trainers; if you like personal training that is NOT personal; and if you are ok with management that only cares about your membership fees not your personal fitness goals or well-being. If all that sounds good, then Anytime Fitness - Montwood is a great gym to join! The gym itself is nice enough but once you are there for a while you will notice there is not a lot of variety in equipment. I would compare it to a larger version of a hotel gym, but it is nice and fairly well kept. One thing it has going for it is that it is always clean, members are friendly and conscious of wiping down equipment and cardio machines. I joined Anytime Fitness - Montwood November of 2022. I signed up for 3 days of personal training from the get-go and signed a 1-year contract for both monthly membership and 3 days of training per week. I made an impulse decision to sign up on the spot after a quick tour; l did not compare or look around at any other gyms. In hindsight I wish I had shopped around. At the time of my sign up, I made the decision that prioritizing my health and well-being was something I needed to take immediate action on. I had been dealing with depression from the loss of my mother during Covid and the loss of my father to cancer a year beforehand. My depression led to a downward spiral of overeating, drinking, binging TV, weight gain, and not leaving the house. After being in this unhealthy state for almost 2 years I woke up one day and decided this has to stop! I got in my car, drove to Anytime Fitness, signed up on the spot. Early on after I started attending the gym and meeting with my personal trainer, I began to question my decision. After a few months and being juggled around from trainer to trainer, I realized I should have shopped around, learned more about the gym and the trainers. In the past 1.5 years I have been moved around from trainer to trainer because they all have left (quit) the gym. Since November of 2022, I have had 6 personal trainers and seen the entire staff change a few times. Last week I voiced this concern to Glen, the general manager and asked him if he would let me exit my contract early. I shared my feedback with him, told him about my numerous setbacks, and how my progress has been slow due to each change. He said there was nothing he could do as I was under contract but that he would take it to upper management. Two days later he let me know that upper management, a person named Rose, said there was nothing they could do and they would hold me to the terms of the renewed contract. I had been hopeful that upper management would recognize having 6 trainers in less than 1.5 years was excessive, they would understand my progress was hindered, services rendered for personal training were unsatisfactory and let me exit my contract with grace. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The answer was simply just a no, you are under contract and if you don’t pay, we will send you to collections. Over the past 2 weeks I have visited several gyms within a 1 block radius shared and shared my experience. I have been greeted warmly, been shown exceptional levels of customer service learned that there are gyms with nicer facilities, better/newer equipment, personal amenities, saunas, yoga classes, cycling studios, and robust class schedules all for a similar price to Anytime Fitness. I came to Anytime Fitness as a place to help me with my struggles with physical and mental health and instead I have been greeted with even more uncertainty, anxiety at the onset of each new trainer, setback after setback, mental stress, and now financial repercussions. I would highly encourage you to do your due diligence before signing up at Anytime Fitness - Montwood. It is seemingly a great place outside looking in but once you are a member you will see all the flaws. Definitely do not sign up for personal training unless you are comfortable with a new person training you or a new person teaching your classes every couple of months.

Paying for black card and 5 out of their 6 massage bed/chairs don’t work properly. Not to mention how many machines have been broken for MONTHS. Save your money and go elsewhere.

They only get one star because they will not allow me to assign zero. I am here to cancel my membership because I moved out of town. I was told that I could not cancel over the phone (this is not true you can cancel by letter) and I would have to come in in person. And now I was told that they are requiring me to pay more before they will cancel. I will never have a membership with Planet Fitness again. Instead of spending time with my family, I am trying to deal with this. Can this count as my letter to cancel my membership since the young lady (Joline) said she would not?

Had to redownload the app and couldn't find my barcode. I tried calling my home gym but no one answered the phone in the past hour. I think it's easier to just call corporate and cancel my membership.

10.28.24.???????AMAZING THAT EVEN AFTER INITIAL REVIEW I CONTINUE TO FIND RR TORN UP STINKING AND YET AGAIN NO SOAP.....HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE??? ...I have seen a steady decline in the gyms maintenence and restroom cleanliness. Faucets that don't work..no toilet paper in stalls..dirty restrooms.. and the worst no soap in dispensers.What the heck has happened? Ownership needs to shake things up with management. I have seen this decline BTW at pendale..Joe battle..and North East location. They need to take a lesson from the PEBBLE hills Gym. The manager there understands the importance of cleanliness! Someone is forgetting we have other OPTIONS🤔

Nice gym but they have one particular staff member (Susy) that is very rude and makes the experience for any help or clarification horrible.

Sauna not working already, many TVs off 🤦🏽‍♂️. Dirty locker rooms . Very crowded and hard to find parking lot. Cable machines need maintenance. Call for for questions for Bill issues and girl told me to wait and few minutes later hang the phone up😡.

For a new gym, nothing ever works, there’s not enough machines or equipment for the amount of people that go, it’s always way too packed. There is one smith machine in the entire gym…ONE! Crunch needs to focus on capacity issues entirely and enforce it when clearly the facility is way passed capacity limits. Also, whoever chose the layout of equipment needs to be fired, y’all have way too much room, and there is absolutely no structure or order in where you have equipment and machines located. It’s a mess. Employees also are always too busy talking and aren’t ever welcoming or attentive. Very unprofessional. The paper towels are always running out, and nobody to fill them. And why are people working out next to trash cans… please, redo trash can locations! It’s a joke. All the perks you get with the premium membership is pointless because hydromassage chairs, red light therapy, etc is never functioning. There is never any parking either, and if you try to park somewhere close by, they will announce that they are towing vehicles. Overall, this gym is a disaster. Hire a new GM or facility manager because dang guys… horrible.

This gym is trash. Whoever designed it was probably hired off craigslist or something. As big as it looks on the outside it feels small from the inside. Way too busy to get a full workout in, the locker room is WAY too small, same with the sauna. My middle school locker room was bigger than this. To find parking is just a disaster, there's a high chance of getting into an accident with how small and crowded it gets. The personal trainers either just stand there or are sitting half the time. I asked for a water because I forgot mine and they didn't have any. How do you not have water at a gym? It feels like they just got all the equipment they had and stuffed it inside, everything is so cramped up you're literally bumping into people adding plates to your machine. Very disappointing to say the least especially with how much they hyped up this gym.

Awesome gym. Good equipment. Now I remember why I didn't like the big gyms. There's always a couple of people that reserve some machines by putting their stuff and claiming it for 20 to 30 minutes. I have a routine to finish like every one else. There's a lot of classes that they offer. Very complex place. New equipment i never used before. Staff is awesome. Trainers are awesome too.

I'm reviewing this gym for what I use it for -- treadmills and yoga and pilates classes. I never worry that there won't be any open treadmills when I show up. Also, this is the best deal on yoga and Pilates classes in town. You do have to be very very quick to book, but people inevitably don't show up for the class so I've never had a problem with getting into the classes I like. The yoga and pilates coach Ale is AMAZING. I love taking her classes. Selene is awesome too. Honestly all the coaches are quality and put a lot of effort into leading the classes. The free weights and machine area is quite large but since this is a popular gym, during peak hours it seems quite crowded. I prefer to do my lifting at another gym I have a membership at. I would like to see some sort of policy that discourages people booking and no-showing, though. Also, the locker room is tiny and it's impossible to change by your locker without feeling super weird/exposed. Those are the main issues I have with this gym.

It was my first time going to a golds gym. The Hispanic lady with long curly hair at the Tierra Este location received me very coldly. After signing up for a day pass she couldn’t be bothered to give me a tour or anything. I just walked around aimlessly. Never again. Horrible customer service.

The gym is great with plenty of free weight options. The customer service is even better. The manager truly listens and cares about the customers. Very happy with my choice to get a membership here!

I absolutely love the gold gym on Tierra Este. I love that they have Les Mills classes. However, I wish they would add body combat.

They have two trainers and neither is available at this location, class schedules have the wrong times, instructors don’t show up and no one tells the people waiting and there’s no advance notice. . Once you take those features away you might as well go to Planet for less

I’ve tried just about every "big" gym in El Paso, but ever since I started coming here, I haven’t looked back. The staff is super friendly, and the managers always make it a point to say hello. The other members are really nice as well so it's always pleasant working out here. Cleanliness is a huge deal for me so the fact that the staff is always cleaning gives me peace of mind. They even have someone come in after hours to make sure everything stays spotless. The 24-hour access is a nice bonus, but honestly, I’d still choose this gym even if it wasn’t. The comfort in knowing I’m working out in a clean space, not surrounded by days-old sweat, is well worth it. And for what you get, the price is totally fair, especially compared to other gyms around here. Lastly, they're super passionate about member engagement. They always have something going on that everyone can participate in which I think fosters a sense of community that I also haven't seen at other gyms.

3 years still going can’t complain, clean & plenty of machines if you wanna work out & not just stand there, friendly environment. Other gyms open but anytime literally you can go at anytime.

The personal training staff is amazing, collectively and independently. The workouts are intentional, challenging and fun. Carlos is especially fantastic with people who have disabilities and works around their physical and mental limitations. The training staff creates a comfortable social environment for all kinds of people to achieve their fitness goals.

I am in love with this gym the staff is super friendly and helpful. The training is amazing and the trainer Carlos is motivating and has yoga on some days that helps with cooling down. absolutely recommend this gym!
