I want there on a guest pass, just to see if I like it. I did not. Club hours supposed to be till 7pm today. I was in the sauna at 6.30 pm when cleaning lady very rude opened the door and told area is closed. So they must start cleaning it at 7pm, instead they interrupted relaxation and this is terrible. All this noise and I was not able to use steam room. Horrible experience and it’s just not I want for myself. Cleaning must start after the place closed not before. So I would never will be a client because behind all clients services this place is trash.

Been at this club since May of 2023. I signed up with executive membership and love it. It’s the most complete club in all of Los Angeles. Not perfect, but it’s close. They have basketball courts, racquet ball, pickle ball, swimming pools, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, a parking structure, cafe, lounge area, work area, a rooftop exercise spot, and much more. You should at least come try it out.

I’ve been a member here since January, and I genuinely love this gym. At first the price tag was kind of painful but now, I spend so much time there it’s worth it. From the new coffee shop and always open tables to work from, the sauna and showers, classes, weight areas, it’s easy to spend 2 hours here a day. I also feel like most people, from the members to instructors to front staff, are super friendly. I genuinely enjoy this gym, and am really glad I joined!

Amazing sport club in LA. I’ve been only to this Equinox and I loved it. I’ve tried some other gyms and this one is my favorite. High quality service, clean spaces, interesting classes and a huge variety of choice! The monthly subscription is very expensive though, but if you can afford it, I think it’s worth it!

I’ve been a member for many years, and in the early days, it was undoubtedly a 5-star facility. The service was top-notch, the place was always spotless and well-organized, and they had the best, most up-to-date equipment. If anything broke down, it was fixed immediately. In the five years leading up to COVID, it slipped to a 4-star experience. Cost-cutting measures became evident — the quality of the equipment declined, cleanliness standards started to drop, and overall service was not what it used to be. Since COVID, it feels like the gym has settled into being a 3-star facility. Cleanliness in the locker rooms, spa, and showers has noticeably deteriorated. Broken equipment or amenities now take weeks to repair, and that’s only after multiple complaints. To be fair, they have upgraded several machines, which is a plus. But there’s a palpable shift in employee attitude — it often feels like they just don’t care. I’ve reported issues in the spa area to several staff members, only to be met with indifference or excuses, as if they’re all just passing the buck. Another major issue with cleanliness is that, to be fair, it’s not entirely the club’s fault. A lot of it comes down to inconsiderate members who leave towels behind in the showers, discard Band-Aids, or leave shaving razors lying around. However, the club bears responsibility for failing to address it. Despite my repeated requests, they’ve refused to confront the issue head-on by making explicit announcements, sending member-wide emails, or posting clear notices around the shower area. A simple, direct message reminding members to clean up after themselves could go a long way, but the club seems unwilling to take that step. If it weren’t for the hottest steam room in town, I would give them a 2 1/2 star.

I tried to join equinox not just for my personal use but also explored whether to bring my corporate company team to equinox but the system is chaotic and as a result utterly unreliable in terms of making any training or spa appointments or even trying to pay for these sessions - I can’t bring my business account here as the service is poor and on 2 attempts to book simple private training and physio sessions all appointments got lost or dropped from their system so I turn up both times and both times there is nothing on the system recorded - there is double bookings and the system on both occasions dropped my account off their system - I have wasted so much of my time -equinox is definately not worth wasting time with - looks glossy and fantastic but the critical service required to support that is lacking to a shocking degree. My experience was frustrating and wasted money and time and my advise is Do not join this gym. In LA there are plenty of better gyms with higher basic level of service support.

Hello, I had a contract for one year, there was an automatic payment, the contract ended 2 months ago, a letter came about the end of the contract, I have been going to another gym for 2 months now, and yesterday I discovered that they are still writing off my monthly payment in the amount of 287 dollars, I write letters to the general manager, the concierge, there is no answer from either of them for 5 days, I call the concierge, they say that the contract goes into leasing after a year, and your membership is still active!!! Why does no one talk about this at the time of signing? Why does not any confirmation of this come? Do I want to renew the contract or not??? I did not expect this from a company like you ... this is more like a scheme to profit from other people's money!!!! No recalculation and does not want to return my money, although there was no activity during this period! I am obliged to know about all this myself, I am obliged to call you myself, so that it turns out to be canceled my membership! Scam! Because of people like you, I never want to set up automatic payments, so as not to fall for such tricks to give away money!

In regard to equipment and overall quality, I was fairly happy with the gym outside of limited business hours and so many members that the equipment was never available (especially if you work a 9-5 and go in before 8a or after 5p). DO NOT trust or sign up with Jan, he is highly unprofessional and will ghost you the moment your credit card hits auto bill. He dodged my emails for 2 weeks when I tried to cancel, I had to eventually call in and find someone else who would allow me to cancel without the obvious gimmicks. If you have the budget for a luxury gym don’t waste your money here.

Today marks the sixth day this month that I have had to leave the gym several seconds after walking in because there are no machines available whatsoever. I understand that there are rush hours for every gym however, it has gotten simply out of hand at the Equinox gyms in Los Angeles especially the one in Hollywood. Multiple trainers are taking on clients during rush hour and holding multiple machines at the time per client. This practice doesn’t make any sense and it shouldn’t be allowed. Today I was making my way towards the only open machine and I was cut off by a trainer who was literally running to get there before I could. I have also gone up to seemingly empty machines only to have a trainer tell me it was one of several bring reserved for their client’s workout. The trainer proceeded to leave said machine unoccupied for 20 minutes — longer than I would have needed it. I joined equinox for the promised amenities — one of which was limited capacity. This clearly is a promise that they have failed to uphold. They care more about commissions for new contracts than the fact that this gym is overrun. Not only are you wasting my money; you’re wasting my time.

Sorry but I have to agree with the other user. The gym is just too full and all the machines are often occupied. This could easily be solved by leaving the gym open 24/7 because then people could come outside of the rush hour. The gym itself is clean and offers a lot of training rooms. Nice.

Beautiful gym, immaculate modern facilities with kind, warm welcoming staff members. This place creates a community of inspiring athleticism. If you want to up your fitness game and become a better version of yourself, this is the place for that transformation. I love the boutique, yummy Earth Bar smoothies and warm towels! Sauna, steam room and on-site spa. Group fitness classes are great both in quality as well also in forming community bonds. Not to mention you have world class shopping right outside the door at the Century City Mall. What’s not to like? 🩷

I'm very disappointed in the customer service at this specific club. I recently joined it, and I had to freeze my account, which I was told by Daniel that it's okay to freeze up to two months. When I freeze my account, I was charged, and Daniel said that I will be credited for the next month. The next month, when I had to freeze again, I was charged again two months, which is $770. I was very upset, and there was a reason that I no longer was able to come to the Equinox, and I said that I want to cancel my membership. Gina Wong, he connected me with her, and this person was extremely rude, not communicative. Every time when I tried to call her, she would say she would call me back, but never would. Via email, I expressed my feelings, and she said that I cannot freeze my account, I cannot cancel it, and they continue charging me. So it's been three months since I haven't visited the Equinox, and they continue charging me. At this point, I have no choice but to reach out to the CEO of the Equinox, and also, I would never ever advise anyone to join this club, because all they care just about their money. If you ever want to cancel, good luck with that. They care about their money. Gina Wong is just the worst person to deal with it. She would refuse to communicate, she would refuse to call you back, she would refuse to be there for you, especially when you're going through experience with the fires, that I lost part of my business during the fire, and I'm no longer able to pay that Equinox because of the fire, that I was a victim of the fire.

I’d give equinox a 2.5 star rating if I could since there’s an equal amount of pros and cons of getting a membership here. Pros: -unlimited classes -unlimited classes -accessible amenities Cons: 1. horrible customer service, rude misinformed staff 2. no appreciation or loyalty to members 1. I have a student membership at the uc Berkeley location and I truly truly loved my first two months as an equinox member. The classes have amazing instructors at the Berkeley location for all of the classes and I believe they do uphold their instructors to be the highest quality. Another plus is how you can take unlimited classes and this is probably the best part. The most frustrating experiences as a member has been the customer service as none of them are truly well informed. I’m not saying berkeleys location as it’s kind of a special location so the customer service with concierge there was usually accurate, with only small things where I was misinformed but no where near as bad as other locations. As I’m originally from the LA area I went to the century city location multiple times and every time there was some bad mistake by the concierge that was helping me. I don’t mind mistakes as it’s only human but my main frustration was there inability to fix their mess ups. And they would be pretty bad mess ups like one time they charged another customer for something I was supposed to be Charged and it resulted in me missing half of the yoga class I was attending bc I had to talk to the concierge person for a while. After that they made me responsible to fixing the mistake with very bad instructions and I ended up giving up because I was upset at how horrible the service was. Another instance was I chatted with concierge on the app to pause my account as there is a policy that for students at the Berkeley location can pause there account for one month, no fee. I was told very confidently that ALL members (including Berkeley) HAD to pay a pausing fee of $50 multiple times but when I called my location and talked to other members they said that is absolutely wrong. Thankfully I called instead of chatting and they told me that yes I could pause my account for free for a month. I nearly paid the $50 pause fee so I was grateful I checked and tried again and was helped by another staff member that was better informed. 2. Another issue I had with equinox is that I’m paying quite a lot so I’d expect that they would honor loyal customers as that’s usually how it works with luxury companies. I recruited four members to the club as I loved and raved about the gym a lot in the beginning. Then when I’d ask for possible deals on more guest passes (as literally every one of my guests ended up signing up) or like possible day passes for when I’d go back home on break at LA locations, they would never ever honor any favors to loyal members. I understand that’s not promised when you bring in new members to sign up for equinox too but you’d think they would treat you with some little favors when politely asked. I also believe bringing in 4 members to join equinox is quite a pretty penny and I just think for the price u pay for this gym, there should be way better service.

The staff at the front desk exhibit a troubling lack of professionalism and maturity. Their attitude is consistently poor, and they seem ill-equipped to handle client interactions effectively. Considering this is one of the most expensive gyms in Los Angeles, this level of service is both unacceptable and disappointing.

Convenient location and beautiful gym, but not enough value or respect given to individual members and their needs. Even after being a member for over 7 years and consistently paying for personal training/pilates sessions, the manager doesn’t have the time to help resolve member issues/problems. They fired my Pilates instructor the day they asked me to buy another package of sessions without informing me that my instructor would no longer be returning; and now when I requested a refund for the remaining sessions they tell me they are non refundable. After speaking with the general manager regarding this issue, she reassured me she would come up with a solution by last Saturday… still haven’t heard from her. I have called and left a few messages for her since then.. and keep being told she’s in meetings. Hopefully this review reaches someone who can actually help.

I have been going to this facility for a month now and can say that it's one of the nicer gyms I've been to. It's kept up very well in regards to cleanliness and upkeep. The gym itself, while small, has all you could need in regards to cardio and weight lifting. I cannot speak for how busy it gets as I am one of the few nocturnal users(this gym is 24 hours w/ a key fob access) but I truly believe this is a good gym.

Scot the owner is a real professional and super friendly man. Love this guy and his gym! The gym has everything you need when it comes to weights, machine's and some of which are very rare to find at any gym! I love that some specific equipments at Mendy's are very therapeutic for heavy lifters and anyone that has experienced injuries (which you won't find at commercial gyms). And the cage area for boxing and MMA is the perfect combo for lifting and cardio training! I highly respect this gym and Scot for everything he's done to create a great environment for sports athletes, bodybuilders, powerlifters, etc. Definitely worth the investment!

So I've been to other gyms and they just give you a membership and they throw you to the wolfs ..... What I love about Mendy's Gym is that it's a family environment! He knows all his members by name and has personal relationships with each and every one of them....... And Scott ..... With all the accolades and championships that he has is one of the most humbled person I've met..... One experience I'd like to share is one day I got to the gym was working out and I normally work out with headphones because I listen to a certain artist , and Scott asked me what was I listening to then I told him and then he put the artist on the Bluetooth so I can hear it throughout the gym that day ........ Very good place and I love it there! Can't wait to see you guys there!

I visited a few days ago, hoping to run on a treadmill. There are no prices listed, and they wouldn't tell me what the prices were. They said to "go online." I asked, "There's no way that you can just tell me what the prices are and have me pay? I'm literally standing here in the gym at the counter." They said no. So I went to my phone, and after 5 minutes of slow service, I finally got on their site. The prices were very confusing. $25 for a month, $9.99 for a month for this gym, but you have to pay for a year, but you can cancel after 2 months, but you'll only have to pay $9.99 today, but you can't sign up until you register, but you can't register unless you also agree to ads, emails, and data collection... When I complained that I would just like to pay to use the gym in a simple way, the manager explained that their business model is to get referrals and spread by people bringing their friends and then getting their business...I'm not sure why he told me this. I was literally standing there ready to give them money, but being required to jump all of these hurdles have nothing to do with using the gym. This is an awful business model. I eventually just left. If you can tolerate abhorrent corporate exploitation and nonthinking employees, then I'm sure you'll be fine. Seemed like a decent gym.

The ads they have for these gyms are misleading!! DO NOT SIGN UP! This was my first time ever signing up for a gym membership and I was left extremely disappointed. They started calling me a week later day in and day out. My card was charged SEVERAL times throughout the day and in the middle of the night. I finally got in touch with the manager. THE MANAGER JOSE IS INCOMPETENT and should focus on managing his emotions instead of a poorly ran gym. Perhaps he should have honored the discounted promotion but he’d rather hang up in your face. This place sucks and I’ll be a loyal gym member somewhere tf else.

I recently joined Crunch Fitness and have been thoroughly disappointed, mainly due to the incredibly rude staff. From the very beginning, the front desk employees have been dismissive and unhelpful. When I asked for assistance with setting up my membership, they acted as if I was a burden and barely gave me the time of day. The trainers are no better. Instead of offering encouragement or guidance, they seem more interested in chatting amongst themselves or checking their phones. When I asked for help with a particular machine, I was met with an eye roll and a curt response, making me feel like I was interrupting their free time. To make matters worse, any time I've had an issue with billing or scheduling, the customer service has been abysmal. The representatives are not only uncooperative but downright condescending. They seem annoyed by any inquiries and are quick to dismiss concerns without offering any real solutions. The overall atmosphere at Crunch Fitness is unwelcoming and hostile. The staff's rude behavior makes it difficult to feel comfortable or motivated. I regret joining and will be looking for a gym where respect and customer service are prioritized. Save your money and avoid this place if you value being treated with basic decency

My experience at Crunch Fitness was very disappointing. I recently moved to the area and booked a 7-day membership pass online. When I arrived the next day, the manager said it had expired and only allowed me to try the gym for one day. While that was rude, I decided one day would be enough to explore the gym. The worst part was receiving an email about my card being left at the gym. When I went to retrieve it, the staff said only the manager knew about it, and he wasn't there. On my second visit, the manager seemed impatient and claimed they didn’t have my card. Apparently, they don’t keep lost items at the gym. The staff was consistently rude and unprofessional, making it difficult to feel welcome. The gym was not well-maintained and lacked basic hygiene standards. It was small, with outdated and malfunctioning equipment. Overall, I would not recommend Crunch Fitness. There are better gyms in the area with superior facilities and a more respectful atmosphere.

I’ve been with Barbarian Barbell for the past 4 and a half years and cannot recommend this gym enough. If you’re looking for a place to start weightlifting, improve your technique, or find a new gym, this place is just for you! Emmy and Kristin are the most supportive, kind, and dedicated coaches I have ever met. They have helped me refine my technique, reach new personal records, and have been there for me when I needed someone to talk to. Because of them, I have been able to compete with confidence at both the local and national levels. The facility itself is exceptional — there are many platforms, plates, bars, and free weights to work from so you don’t have to worry about it being busy compared to a commercial gym. Sharing with others is not a problem even on busy days since everyone is very friendly. There is also a 24-hour access option which is perfect for individuals who have busy work-life schedules and need more flexibility for access. The people at Barbarian Barbell are some of the nicest, friendliest, and most supportive team you’ll ever meet. If you’re looking for a community that pushes you to do your best, you will have no problem finding that here.

Very dope location. Small but perfect for the intense classes to keep them small and intimate. First class is free. TAKE MELANY’S CLASS! My body hurt so bad and I was so winded. This is coming from a 5 days a week at the gym person so you already know what you are in for. So worth it!
