The staff's attention is commendable, demonstrating respect and attentiveness. The equipment is well-maintained, and the overall facility is kept clean and well-equipped with necessary cleaning supplies for each user's convenience. I love this location! I truly feel comfortable going here. The staff members are all super friendly and welcoming. I know if I have a question or need assistance, I can ask any of the staff. The gym is very clean and the staff frequently replenishes the paper towels and sprays bottles. I also love the playlists! The music is great. Other members have been very kind and respectful at this location. I truly appreciate the support of the planet fitness staff and I highly recommend getting the black card! Thank you PF!

PF in Norwood is an outstanding facility managed by great associates. Michael has been my primary contact. He is professional and very intelligent. The equipment is state of the art and the place is immaculately clean always. Been a member for years and will be for life.

I made a membership at the Norwood location back in May 2024 where they had my location out of state and never corrected it. I cancelled the same week. I have since been being charged monthly fees and have called to speak to management several times. Each time I have called they tell me management is not available. Hector was one gentleman I spoke to who was very kind and sincere. Today, the manager Scott got on the phone, screamed at me and was completely disrespectful and unprofessional. I would NEVER give business to this establishment again. I will also be filing a complain with cooperate. My goal was to simply ask to be reimbursed for the charges or have a credit placed on my account but instead was verbally attacked.

At age 71, still playing and officiating my college sports of hockey and lacrosse. But with each passing year, felt like I was losing strength and flexibility and had little success in reversing this on my own. Decided to sign up for personal training sessions with Jonas at Compete! After only half a dozen sessions, already feeling stronger, more flexible, and experiencing less pain and stiffness. Best decision I’ve made in years!

I'd highly recommend Compete Strength and Conditioning's adult training program. The professional training staff put in the effort week in and week out to provide workouts that cater to each member and value your everyday needs. I couldn't be happier to have Compete as my gym, it's truly the best place for improving your physical and mental health.

Ever since coming to compete, I’ve noticed a huge change in both the mental and physical side of my lacrosse game. The drills we do translate directly to the field and have helped me work on my speed off the line and my overall strength. On the mental side of things, I have built the confidence to take risks in games due to the endless amount of support and encouragement we all get from the coaches here. Compete teaches every person they train not only how to develop as an athlete but also as a person. The coaches here are the most genuine and caring people you will meet and I am so grateful for all of them.

Compete Strength and Conditioning has been an absolute game-changer for me! This gym is not just a place to work out; it's a community where you can truly transform yourself. The coaches here are top-notch, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in your progress. I joined Compete Strength and Conditioning to improve my strength and speed, and I can confidently say that I've achieved remarkable results. The workouts are challenging but incredibly effective, tailored to individual goals and fitness levels. The variety in training keeps things interesting, and I've never felt bored or stagnant in my fitness journey. What sets this gym apart is the expertise of the coaches. They are not only skilled in their craft but also passionate about helping you reach your full potential. I've learned valuable techniques and received personalized guidance that has significantly contributed to my progress. The sense of camaraderie among members adds an extra layer of motivation. Everyone is supportive, creating a positive and encouraging environment. It's not just a gym; it's a community where you'll find like-minded individuals on their fitness journey, pushing each other to be the best version of themselves. Compete Strength and Conditioning is more than just a place to work out – it's a place to grow, learn, and achieve your fitness goals. I can't recommend it enough to anyone looking for a gym that prioritizes strength, conditioning, and overall well-being. Kudos to the entire team at Compete Strength and Conditioning for creating such an exceptional fitness haven!

Training at Compete has truly transformed my athletic performance. I have been coming to Compete since I was in eighth grade and can 100% confirm that Compete is the place to go for bettering your overall mental and physical performance on the field. As a Junior in Highschool now, I have been able to accomplish so many goals that used to seem unattainable thanks to the high quality coaching staff and facility that Compete has to offer. From understanding crucial foundations of accelerating to receiving guidance toward a proper nutrition and an at-home body care routine, Compete does it all. Not only have the training sessions at Compete physically made me stronger and faster, it has toughened me mentally and taught me how to work outside of my comfort zone: two skills very applicable to athletics and in my everyday life. The high-intensity lifts are extremely rewarding in the long run as I can see myself improving week after week. Not to mention, the coaching staff knows exactly how to make adjustments during lifts so that you feel your lift is suited for you, and know how to encourage you throughout your lift to ensure you get the most out of each session. There has never been a time where I have walked away unsatisfied with my training session, and the dynamic atmosphere, thanks to the coaching staff, keeps me motivated and ambitious to keep coming back for my next session. I highly recommend training at Compete to any athlete, regardless of if they are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced, who is ready to put in the work in return for unmatched results.

We had my son’s 8th birthday here this month- September of 2024- amazing experience. We had the whole space to ourselves. The staff were incredible. Kept the kids engaged the whole time, even while waiting for everyone to arrive and get checked in, made sure they listened to the safety rules but even made that fun. They helped out the kids that needed a little support, cheered everyone on, came up with creative games and included my son on picking what to play. I’ve never held a party or been to one where the crew have been so involved. I mean- it was a ninja party obstacle course chaos, but controlled chaos fun. The kids had a blast, the adults enjoyed watching. The party area was great. They took care of the ordering of pizza, handing out food/dessert/clean up. So happy and would 10/10 recommend. Thank you!!

Had an unusually stellar experience at Action Athletics recently that I wanted to share. Brought my 4 year old to join a ninja class, and the leadership and staff could not have been more accommodating with respect to her spiciness 🌶️ . My kiddo was clearly not ready for the activity, and the leadership here was extremely patient, collaborative, flexible and generous with respect to figuring out creative solutions to how she might be more comfortable. It’s unfortunate but have found that activities and schools for children often lack the flexibility or openness to consider how to modify curricula for kids who may respond better to different approaches. Kudos to this inclusively minded and wonderful place (that also throws a killer birthday party for kids!).

We had our son's 7th birthday party here two days ago and I could not have been more impressed with the facility, and the staff working the party. Nate was the team leader (and is also the owner), and he couldn't be a nicer man. He was kind, incredibly helpful and he and his team went above and beyond to make our experience wonderful. Nate had a team of teenagers/young adults working my son's party and they were FANTASTIC with the kids. They also helped me both unload my car and set up when I got there (I like to bring lots of decorations!), and they were really awesome with the kids. The party was really well managed with some structured ninja challenges as well as open play. All of the kids (and parents) had an awesome time, with my younger son already asking to have his birthday party here. Needless to say, I highly recommend Action Athletics for parties, classes, open gym, whatever. They are great!

I enjoy this gym but it’s definitely not geared towards the working family/mom. They offer child care hours but only three hours during the morning between 8am and 11am and that really limits a huge group of working moms.

This review is specifically for the swim school. We have seen tremendous improvement in both of our children since starting here at Vanderbilt. They’re learning real skills, having fun, pushing themselves to try harder, and learning to really enjoy themselves (safely) in the water. The instructors are exceptionally well trained and well managed. The facilities are….fine. But you’re not coming here for brand new luxury, you’re coming here because it’s a warm welcoming atmosphere where your kids will learn to swim confidently. For that it gets five stars.

I have been swimming at the Vanderbilt Club for many, many years. I have lost count! The structure is a canvas bubble; in the summer the top comes off for an open air environment. In the Fall, Winter and Spring, the bubble is on to keep the heat in and the air temperature comfortable. Before 2020, the owner replaced the opaque canvas wall along the parking lot with with a new one with windows and a double door for increased light and ventilation. There is one heating unit in the facility and it is located over the deep end of the pool. There is a fan in the top center - the peak - on the cement wall side that draws and circulates the air. In the winter months, many of the participants wear neoprene to stay warm. We all have different body temperatures and different comfort levels. The pool water and the hot tub water are both tested frequently and often for the communities' safety. All of our Water Instructors are wonderful! We are blessed to have them! Regarding the windows on the parking lot side. Yes; they do slide open. Some people are comfortable having them open and others are not. Since we are a diverse community, body temperature varies from person to person and some are hot and some are cold. Some of the participants wear neoprene and some do not. There could be a draft if one window is open and the others aren't as the air flow could be drawn to that location depending on the temperature outside. I respect all of the members of our community and the different health challenges we all navigate. Communication with the instructors and members of the classes helps meet the goals and needs of all swimmers. The pool is my happy place!

I am very impressed with how Mini Athletes is run! I signed up my son for a four week session when there was a Groupon available. When I had a bunch of questions, somebody was always there to pick up the phone and when that person couldn't answer my question, someone always got back to me soon after with a reply. I regret not buying more sessions. I recently hosted a community event there and the girls were so great in how they organized all the kids and kept them engaged without running wild all over the place. I am so glad to have a place like this close to home!

My daughter has been a part of Cheer Advantage for 8 years now. Her growth as an athlete, teammate, friend and as an all around person is so impressive. She has advanced in her tumbling skills year after year. She’s learned to adapt to new situations and work well with others. These are both skills that have transferred to all aspects of her life. From a parent’s perspective, the dedication, hard work, and overall confidence she has learned is so valuable. From a kid’s perspective, she’s achieving goals and most importantly, having fun! We have made lifelong friendships at this gym and look forward to making more memories with the CA family.

My daughter had fun, but I was turned off by what I perceive as a lack of communication and organization. When my daughter got hurt at practice, they didn’t inform us. I’ve heard a similar story from another parent. On competition day, the coach (or owner?) repeatedly reminded my daughter that it’s fine if she wants to skip some stunts due to injury (that they neglected to tell us about), but stated repeatedly that they will have points taken away by judges. I felt like she overemphasized this last part, which my kid felt as pressure to ignore her injury. I got the sense that they didn’t want to talk to me whenever I had questions or concerns- as if I was bothering them. It’s expensive. Be prepared to spend a couple thousand dollars for a few months of cheer. Overall my daughter enjoyed her cheer experience, but this particular environment felt toxic and unpleasant to me. Your mileage may vary.

This is my daughters second year at cheer advantage. She has loved every second she spends at the gym. She has made many friends, memories and has had great experiences. The coaches work so hard with the kids and really take the time to help and work with them. From the first time we walked in the door me and my daughter felt welcomed and part of the family from the owners Jen and Cyndy and from all the coaches. This is our second home and wouldn’t change a thing We love it here

My daughter is starting her fourth year at Cheer Advantage and during our time at the gym, it has been such a pleasure to watch her grow both personally and athletically. The staff at CA took a shy girl who could barely do a cartwheel and turned her into a a much more confident young woman who can’t wait to go to practice and show off her ever growing set of skills. We couldn’t be happier with CA and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the program.
