Best Gym near La-mirada, California

I had a frustrating experience with La Mirada Gym due to misleading information and poor customer service. When I signed up, I was told the membership was month-to-month with no commitment—$1 for the first month and $25 per month afterward. However, when I checked my bank, I noticed they actually charged me $31 instead of the $25 we agreed upon. When I tried to cancel, the process was unnecessarily difficult. I called to cancel, but they told me I couldn’t do it over the phone and had to either email or come in person. I emailed the general manager, who then claimed I had to pay a ‘final month’ fee to cancel, which contradicted the no-commitment, month-to-month terms I had been promised. Despite asking for clarification, I never received a response. Eventually, I went in person after work, and a staff member at the front desk had me sign a paper to finalize the cancellation. This experience left me feeling deceived, with unexpected fees, misleading information, and a confusing cancellation process. I wouldn’t recommend this gym to anyone looking for a straightforward, flexible membership.

I have been a member at this gym for 7+ years. Just recently , I called to renew my membership for the same price I have been getting since the gym opened and all of a sudden they want to raise my price over $100 To renew my membership. According to the GM it’s not worth keeping their regular members unless you raise the price. If I’m going to be paying the price of a commercial gym I might as well go there for their updated equipment that provides a sauna and a stream room . Since new management came in this place has gone down hill. Went from a 4.8 to a 3.4 star. Don’t recommend and won’t recommend this gym to friends or family

Clean gym with good equipment. However, front desk employees cannot be trusted. Several issues with freezing/canceling membership and getting charged when they said they were freezing my account. Very frustrating.

NEW CLIENTS BEWARE: I have been a member for 5 years. Over that time the staff continously does not open on time. Members are waiting up to an hour for someone to finally open the gym! Our members are on strict schedules, often times rushing to workout and head to work. The membership I have is a part of the Prime Fitness plan, my plan is provided by my employer, we have 9,000 members, I am considering meeting with the board to have Crunch fitness removed as a vendor. This is unacceptable. The Machines below have been broken for MONTHS. No attempt at fixing them at all. UPDATE: ONCE AGAIN A NO SHOW TO OPEN ON 7/1/23....

These people are scam artist. They still charge me for a membership that I cancelled. People like their associate “Mike” are useless when it comes to customer service and helping their clients. DO NOT do business with these shady people.

Horrible management, gym is good but management is horrible. Their front desk charged me for “my monthly bill” I paid it, next day I went and they told me I still hadn’t paid my monthly bill, so I paid it AGAIN, went the next day and they told me I still owed my monthly bill, at this point I had paid twice, I asked to speak to management, I spoke to their main manager of the gym, he basically blamed me for not telling them the first time, said he would look into it, a week pass by and still no call back from him as he said he would, turned out, their new employee made me pay two other peoples monthly bill, and that he couldn’t do anything about it. He was very rude, disrespectful and started to get verbally violent with me, said he was not going to help me, I asked for the distract managers number and he laughed, gave me the number and said go for it, he’s not going to help you, he’s on my side.

Love gym exercise such as yoga, zoomba, body pump and body balance. They adds new classes and updates each classes to a new version. Never the same classes each time. All instructors are professional and many years experiences!! Now I become stronger than before and maintains good balance

A lot of issues with out of service equipment but the biggest problem is with the sauna and steam room which are the only reason I pay to come to a gym. I have weights at home. I along with a lot of others I’m sure pay to have access these things. I’m canceling my membership to go to a gym that doesn’t have these kind of prolonged problems. The sauna shouldn’t be down a week straight ever. Bad business. On top of that the staff doesn’t even have a time range on when it will be back up. Management and ownership here only cares about that monthly payment you’re gonna make and not about facilitating their customers.

I just joined Gold’s Gym La Mirada. James the General Manager gave me a tour of the gym. Everywhere I went I saw someone cleaning. The gym is tidy and has a very friendly atmosphere. I was there in the evening. It was busy but I didn’t have any trouble parking. I was able to use the equipment I wanted. The pool area is very clean as well as the locker rooms. I took the Yoga/Pilates class which also includes tai chi and loved it. I look forward to going back.

Abs crunch has been broken for almost a month as January 12 2025. None bothered to fix this. Asked the front desk, they have no idea when it'll be fixed. SMH🤷‍♂️

Under new management We have been members ever since they first opened . Had many good years working out there and getting to know the community l. From the original staff only a few dedicated staff are left behind but the new management is careless about old members . Send several emails/ calls to management to resolve issues never got a email or call back from the management.

I love this gym because of the totality of the gym environment. The place is clean and there is an abundance of free weights and squat racks. They also have Concept2 rowers, weighted medicine balls, pull up bars and kettlebells. I utilize the Kids Club for my 5 year old and she really enjoys it. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Many of the people there are polite and courteous. Would recommend to friends and family.

Best gym I’ve enrolled in. Staff and coaches are very approachable and non-judgmental. Their Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program has been the difference maker in maintaining a healthy lifestyle for me. Before joining this gym I knew nothing nor had any interest in anything mma related. They really make you feel like family here.

Been working out here since they opened. I like the assortment of potential workouts that can be done. Would like a little more options for calisthenics, but besides that it's pretty much perfect. It's a good day when I'm able to use the massage chair.
