Best Gym near Cypress, Texas

The location is great. Easy in and out and plenty of parking. They have plenty of equipment for the number of members I have experienced at any one time and the equipment is great quality. Unfortunately there has been a Harris County Fire Marshall violation notice posted on the front door since August. Also the men’s room stinks awful and has had service issues for too long.

I like the people I really like the classes that they offer I did end up signing up for membership, and I even sign up for training as well with a trainer for 10 sessions. the only downside to this crunch in Cypress is it's pretty small and they don't offer a lot of the amenities like the red light and a few other things they only offer HydroMassage and tanning... planet fitness has more amenities but does not offer classes

Great gym for a very affordable price. Wish they had a sauna. I hope it stays clean! Also, sucks that their classes are at odd times and don't provide any options for those who actually work and have a standard working life.

The equipment itself is mostly good and for how busy it is you usually don’t have trouble getting on equipment. But lately the cleanliness of the gym has sharply decline mainly the locker room and bathroom. They are always very dirty and smell but on top of that there is always stalls or urinals out and for prolonged periods of time. Currently there have been two urinals and a stall out for over a week and that only leaves two stalls open which creates a line in the restroom.

Beautiful new affordable gym in Cypress. It gets a bit crowded around rush hour (5pm to 8pm), but what gym doesn't? Other than that, everything is great! Super clean and staff does a wonderful job! I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews; I've never had a bad experience. If people anticipate a Lifetime gym experience for a price ranging from $10 to $30 a month, it's their own issues. Perhaps they should consider going to Lifetime nearby, where it costs $200 per person. Don't get me wrong, I have high standards, but there comes a time when you need to be reasonable and realistic.

It is an absolute pleasure to be able to train at this gym when I am in town. There is everything the hardcore fitness enthusiast could want, while there is a supportive and encouraging environment for the beginner. The amount of space for one is just incredible. Excellent equipment selection, a full area to do strongman training, including sleds, yoke, and farmer handles. I think one thing that shows a really hard core gym is the selection of calves and lower leg tools, so I snapped a photo of those. I can't recommend this place enough! Mark IG Sayerfit

Great gym, there has been times I left my ear buds at home which we all have done LOL... no worries, this gym has a great mix of music NOT the traditionally bad gym music. Good vibe, all walk of life and fitness levels, great staff good group of youngsters who stay busy tightening up the gym. A lot of good trainers at this gym too if that's what you are looking for. Sauna is awesome along with cold plunge. Fare price for a 24hr gym.

Iron City has been our gym home ever since my wife and I moved to the Houston area. The “grind” vibe and environment makes working out there the right choice for us; from having a myriad of machines, dumbbells, benches, cardio equipment, and the recovery room, IC is truly a lifter’s paradise. The staff is friendly & the members all contribute to the “improve yourself” persona. If my wife & I ever move back to the Cypress area, it is definitely our first choice.

Love this PF location. I'm a Black Card member who goes to workout at many various PF locations. This is one of the cleanest gyms I've been to. I actually witnessed a PF Associate cleaning the Men's locker room. I've never seen this before as most locations wait until the contracted cleaning crew comes in late at night to perform a quick housekeeping clean up. There are plenty of various workout machines & tv monitors to view. Outstanding job Cypress location.

Wow!!! This was my 1st time to this location off 290 & Spring Cypress! Walked in around noon on a Sunday and I was very pleasantly surprised! This place was “Gleaming” like the Emerald City!!! They have soo many cardio machines to choose from and their treadmills are Amazing! Place was top to bottom clean! Locker Rooms, showers and Bathroom Clean and Just soo esthetically pleasing! Employees on floor cheerful and helpfully! Natalie helped me figure out the tv connection and she was very kind and genuine! The Spa Club was wow!!! I think I’ll be coming to this location more often!!

I would give zero stars if I could. A bald man behind the desk, possibly in his mid-40s, gave me the worst customer service experience of my life. My girlfriend and I decided to try out this location for the first time today, and we will never go back. We finished our leg workout and wanted to try the Black Card Spa, which initially drew us in. When we approached the desk to use the Beauty Angel and the tanning bed, the bald man immediately yelled, “NO, YOU CANNOT DO THAT.” Puzzled, I asked for clarification, but he just kept repeating himself before finally explaining that we both needed memberships to use the machines. Fine, but he could have communicated that like a normal person. I decided to wait while my girlfriend used the tanning bed. The bald man then asked her to choose a number between 1-6 for how badly she thought she would burn. Confused, she responded, “You can max it out; I don’t burn.” Instead of accepting her answer, he continued to patronize her, demanding she pick a number. This man clearly lacks customer service skills and professionalism. He seems to hate his job and retaining customers even more. Planet Fitness, this man is a liability to your company!

it's a pretty decent sized gym with lots of good amenities my wife has a membership and she can bring along a friend. it shows not to sign up for planet fitness because I can always join her. and I did sign up at crunch fitness at their top membership so I can bring her to some of the classes that they have that planet fitness does not offer.

After being gone from the gym for a couple of months, due to the holidays and some medical issues I had to deal with. I had finally had the time to come back to the gym, only to find at my dismay, that this gym is no longer 24/7. The only reason I go to this gym is because it is so conveniently close to my work place, and to find out that I can only go 3 times a day instead of my usual 5, I feel as if it's just no longer worth it going here. I think I might as well just cancel my membership, if I can't go to this gym whenever I can/want...just plain inconvenient..

Amazing Facility for Young Athletes! We enrolled our 9-year-old here to help improve his speed and strength for sports, and we couldn’t be happier with the results so far! The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable and create a fun, supportive environment that keeps kids motivated and excited to train. We highly recommend Max Speed and Strength to any parent looking to give their child a competitive edge in sports while also creating a love for physical activity.

Max Speed and Strength is great!! My son is 11 and attends the Hockley location. I saw results in just a few weeks. He was getting faster day by day and suddenly had a burst to him. Everyone is friendly and easy to work with. My son loves it, which is why we signed up for an entire year. Would definitely recommend!!

Max has been amazing for my kids! It gets them up and moving and motivated. My son is 9 and daughter is 11 and they both wake up excited to go. I never would have thought this would be something my daughter would like seeing as she dances. She loves doing both the speed and strength class. Her dance teacher has even noticed change in her this summer and she told her it is because she is going to Max’s. The staff is amazing they go over and beyond to make sure kids are having fun and are safe. They make sure kids are doing things with the correct form. I even enjoy the fun sibling rivalry it brings out in my kids. The owner Ted has gone over and beyond to build relationships with the kids and parents.

Update Fall 2024: My kid has the most endurance on his baseball team now and I credit that to Max Speed. He’s a stout, strong kid and not built like a long distance runner but he is consistently the first kid to finish when the coach makes them run the around the fence line before practice. Last night they ran 6 laps around the field at practice and he was at least 50yds ahead of the next kid by the end. He actually likes running now! He also plays cacher and doesn’t get tired popping up and down now. 100% credit and thanks to Max Speed. Original Post: My son is definitely faster and more agile thanks to the folks here. They’ve cleaned up his running style and improved his coordination. They run on treadmills, do box jumps, cone drills, rubber band resistance exercises, and a ton of other imaginative drills. I’m not sure how they do it, but my kid is always exhausted at the end but also looking forward to the next session. I’m so glad we found this place.

Max Speed and Strength is a top tier facility with fantastic coaches who offer an ever changing training program geared toward improving your athlete's running mechanics, speed, agility, and strength. Would recommend to anyone and everyone I know, whether you are searching for a place for your highly skilled athlete or simply seeking improved coordination, stamina, and overall health for your child. Coach Ted and his staff create a friendly, positive, and encouraging environment where working out with your friends is fun! Originally signed my son up for the 8 week program between seasons, but he was hooked from the jump so we decided to enroll for the year. With consistent attendance, we are seeing his hard work pay off exponentially! Thankful for Coach Ted and the team at Max Speed.

Really great gym and great location. Wish they had a couple more machines and somewhat newer cardio equipment. Some equipment like the speed treadmills/Jacob’s ladder are never really used which could be useful area for other equipment instead.

Love this place!! Clean, sitter, friendly staff, access card so u can come as you please, high caliber equipment that I have not seen in other gyms. Most importantly low enrollment fee and cheap monthly membership fee!

Just joined and I am absolutely in love with the gym, staff, atmosphere and just the whole little feel they got there. It’s like a little family gym with everything you need to get back in shape. Nothing like those over packed franchise gyms. It’s honestly the best gym I’ve ever joined. If you’re hesitant, don’t even think twice. They have all kinds of gym equipment and cardio. Love the cleanliness and how everyone follows the rules so well to keep the place clean and nice. Love it!!!

This gym has a little of everything for everyone to do what they need to focus on and the best part 24hr. I hope one day they have add like a sauna.

Hi I have been a member for going on a year. I think they are very nice employees. The staff goes beyond to help you have a great experience. I also appreciate how clean they keep it. I would love if they had some cold water stations that didn’t have to pay 5 bucks for extra water.

I have been going here for years! Everyone is wonderful, patient, kind and a joy to see each time I go in for my spray tan! They never push products on you like I’ve experienced at other salons before. They always make people feel welcome and comfortable! I love Glo Sun Spa and wouldn’t go anywhere else!!

I love this place, this company, and the people who I interact with each time I walk through the doors! I use the Magnolia location and just adore everyone there! Shelby is amazing!!!! And Ted is awesome! I’ve gone to several places over years, and this is by far my favorite! They know me, they take care of me, and I always feel like I’m not just another someone!

I have been using this glo sun for years. The time and energy put out at this location is top notch. From the owner to the staff you will not be disappointed when you go in. Not only is it relaxing they answer all of your questions and make you feel like it’s one big family! They are never rude and take the extra steps if you need something explained. They do their best if there is an issue (and I have never had one )to get it corrected promptly and professionally. I cannot tell you the value of customer service these days. But they go above and beyond every-time. They need a ten star not just a five. Thank you for the great service over the years.

Had my son’s birthday party here recently and the whole experience was great! The facility was large, clean and well lit. I appreciated that it didn’t look or smell dingy like most gymnastic places. The coaches were great and overall I’d do another party here. Highly recommend!

RESPONSE: Definitely the response I expected! I have never compared my kid to any other kid… I see Republic Gymnastics loves to use reverse psych on racial reviews. I know for sure that my daughter was held back for a hand stand while the white kids who were struggling too just like her were moved to level 2! Period! ——————————————————————— I don’t know about this place… seems like they treat the white kids different from the black kids. My daughter has been going here for almost 2 years now, all the kids she started with were moved to level 2 and she is still at 1. She is basically the oldest in her group now. The last evaluation she received, she was told that she needs to work more on her hand stands and that was it. This is something she can get better with even if she is moved to level 2. She was soooo disappointed as she was excited to level up and she practiced and worked her butt off before the evaluation. As a result of this, she is not excited about gymnastics anymore like she use to and has missed a couple of classes. All the kids in her group are no longer there… why is that the case? This is not only discouraging but it completely drops down a child’s morale. Yesterday I saw one of the girls from her group from April 2024 already in level 2 who came to make up a class - I remember very well that she was struggling because her mom use to yell saying “you can do this” - and here’s my daughter 9 years old with 4 and 5 year olds. I am still on the fence about this place because I am seriously considering taking her somewhere else but she loves one of her coaches so much that’s why I am still keeping her there - Coach Kevin - he is always smiling, very nice and so welcoming. I see I am not the only person who has an issue with inclusivity from the reviews. I want my daughter to go somewhere she is valued and her growth is encouraged and it is not her skin color that matters.

My daughter has been in Republic for 3 years now and it has been nothing but great. Her Coach Ms. Gabrielle does a great job explaining different ways to help her girls out. She’s a very big support for my daughter and she’s learned so much from being a beginner to now an elite gymnast. Thank you Republic and Coach Gabby!!

I highly recommend Republic Gymnastics. My daughter has been doing tumbling for 3 years and has gained so much knowledge. Coach Joel and Coach Jake are amazing! My daughter loves them very much and goes to their class with a smile. They have helped her overcome fear and improve her splits. The staff is wonderful, very patient, and always encourage your child to excel. The coaches are very dedicated to students, pushing them to become successful and learn all the moves. Additionally, the place is always clean, providing a safe and welcoming environment for all.

I've worked out at gyms across the country for almost 32 years. I've found most to be managed decently, with small issues based on preferences here and there, but all promote and maintain a safe environment. Not Lifetime Cypress. If you want to work out from 4-7AM, avoid this place. There is a group of folks (that seems to grow by the week) that are there every morning and monopolize entire areas of the workout area. The males are bullies and have been known to harass female members. They also threaten violence towards anyone who gets in their way. Most gyms I've frequented have a floor manager available to resolve these types of issues...at this Lifetime location, the inmates run the asylum. I have found the staff to be friendly; most are doing the best they can with the tools they have. The workout area culture - which is created by the *lack of* management - is appalling and unsafe. Almost all members I speak with are just putting up with this place until a better option opens.

The Cypress location is filled with an incredible 5-star service staff, beautiful non-judgmental members, family friendly energy and yet there is still a vibe of adult sexiness… (w/ bottle service by the pool🥂🍾).. sure it’s a lil pricey… but worth every cent.. for health, wellness, fitness & luxury. ~ Elle & Elijah and ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love this gym, I love that is always very clean and staff is always very nice and friendly. HOWEVER I wish they would enforce the no recording policy, I find it super disrespectful and annoying when people have a whole set up with a tripod to record them selves working out, I pay too much money for my membership to be on the background of someones video. I understand taking a picture but recording your whole workout is ridiculous and rules should be enforced.

This place is amazing. The staff is super friendly and you could spend all day there. The spa is awesome, always clean, machines all work, everything is organized. There’s a great group of pickleball players, pool area is fantastic. It’s worth the membership for sure.

My sister and I just finished a free 3 class promotion. I really enjoyed the yoga classes and feel my mobility and posture improved. I also liked the variety of classes from the slow flow to the hot yoga. They keep the temps on the warmer side which I feel helped warm up my body for better stretching. The instructors are very nice. The studio is very clean and the staff is very nice. They have clean bathrooms and a water refill station which is awesome. They also provide lockers at no cost and plenty of cubbies. The class room is the perfect size with not too big and not too small class size. There’s plenty of space to move when doing the poses.

I love coming to get a restorative workout and reset after a long week. It helps relieve strain from working and weight bearing exercises. The lobby smells wonderful upon your entry, with essential oils of lavender or eucalyptus, what a lovely space and team. Definitely appreciate the friendly and attentive service from the staff. The teachers I have tried so far were Morgan and Kelly. They each have their own teaching style and both are so down to earth, with modifications for every level of practice. You will sweat, you will stretch your limits mentally and physically, and feel all the support from the teacher and class. The music and dynamic lighting create such a vibe, along with the heated room and cold towel afterwards which is infused with essential oils. Such a delight to come to YogaSix, highly recommend no matter what level of practice you have. Thank you for helping me stay centered and getting into the flow!

Enjoyed a fabulous puppy yoga class taught by Morgan from YogaSix. Morgan set the perfect tone for the class and was able to maintain the structure of the class, even in the hectic beer garden setting. She even took photos of me during the class that she was kind enough to share with me after. If I lived closer to a YogaSix studio, I would be taking her classes on the regular!

Rachel was so amazing!! She made me feel so comfortable and created such a safe space! 100% recommend her!!

Today was my first class and it was absolutely amazing! My instructor was really sweet and woman i spoke too at the front was super helpful ! I did the restore class as my class and it was the perfect introduction into yoga ! definitely recommend! ❤️

Smaller (4 court) Sports Complex. CORRECTION: (4 courts–covid limitations) However, over the years, having traveled to a multitude of Sports complexes, this one is on the smaller side, ie: Bathrooms, limited room for spectators, but overall a clean and pleasant atmosphere.

Love this club and the coaches. It is very organized, keeping parents informed. My girl has learnt a lot from the coaches, who are very professional in teaching and also caring. Highly recommended!

Gabi and Heather are so organized and very attentive to the players. My daughter is 10 and has not felt more comfortable anywhere else. The facility is well kept and love having the Bahamas bucks. I can see how much the older girls love the coaching too. Location is convenient in Brideland near 99 and great parking availability.

We recently moved here from another gym. Due to COVID, tryouts were a little different but overall, my daughter was excited. She met Coach Gabi and was immediately excited about the opportunity to work and learn from her. She is tough, holds high expectations and is full of energy, as many of the other coaches are. They don't sugar coat things and push the girls to be better but also encourages and recognizes them when they meet those expectations. The costs is less than what we paid previously and my daughter is still getting the opportunity to play in major tournaments across the country that are highly competitive...which is what we wanted. As stated before, we have only been here a short amount of time and they are not perfect but I can see all the efforts being made to improve the recruiting and development opportunities. The facilities are great. Parking is not the best but I have yet to be a gym that has adequate parking for tournaments...there is never enough parking...goes with the territory. However, the staff has been extremely friendly and helpful and always appear to be looking out for the best interest of the girls. Look forward to see what's to come!!!

Gabi, Dani, and the coaching staff go over and beyond for all athletes. Not only do they teach them the sport but they also focus on building their confidence and developing great youth!

My 9 yr old son has fun training with the coaches. My son is a very fit soccer player, yet the coaches’ training has increased his strength and endurance of his entire body. My observations are that the coaches/trainers are patient with kids yet challenge them to do their very best.

This training facility has been incredible for helping my son become healthier, more athletic, and stronger. We are truly grateful we found it and absolutely love and trust the process.

Super excited to start my fitness journey here. All of the staff are really friendly and the facility is well-supplied and very clean. The class instructors are also great at giving you different "levels" if you're just getting started like me 😅
