Great trainers, two rings, floor of heavy, speed, double end, water bags, and more. Treadmills and full weights section. Gym owners are friendly and committed to the community. Highly recommend!

Currently been training here for over a year. I love the gym and you have multiple space to workout in the back, hit the bag and you have 2 rings to spar with . They have a lot of people in different weight classes if you’re looking to spar . I train with coach Romeo I can also says he is a great coach and I like the style he teaches his fighters how to fight .

I’ve been training at this boxing gym for almost a year, and it’s been an amazing experience! The trainers not only focus on individual progress but genuinely care about the community as a whole. There’s a strong sense of camaraderie among coaches and members, which makes my experience there very enjoyable. Every individual there makes everyone feel welcome!

I've been attending City of Angels Boxing in Los Angeles for years and couldn't be happier. Alex, the instructor, is phenomenal—his passion and expertise shine through every class. Jesse at the front desk is always welcoming and helpful. The group classes are perfect for beginners, with a supportive environment that pushes you to be your best. The facility is clean, well-equipped, and has a great vibe. If you're looking to start boxing, this is the place! Highly recommended.

Hands down my favorite boxing gym in Los Angeles. I have followed Alex around since 2010 and I have to say it has truly been an honor to watch him expand and to see the following he has created. I am not a pro boxer, nor am I trying to be one. What makes City of Angels so special is the love that Alex, his wife Jesse, and son and everyone else has and continues to pour into it. His leads a killer class and makes it fun. I thought I was going to puke after my first class in 2010 and yet I kept coming back for more. Alex is encouraging and yet pushes you to your limits, reminding you of your strength. You will see people of all backgrounds and ages at his gym. Everyone is welcome. I cannot recommend City of Angels enough. If you're thinking about it, give it a try. What's the worst that can happen?

Where to begin. This is hands down the best boxing gym in Los Angeles. The classes offer authentic conditioning from instructors who have actual experience in the ring. Plenty of heavy bags, speed bags, uppercut bags. Two rings. A full gym area with weights and machines. You won't find the kind of community that exists at City of Angels at another gym in LA. After six months of training 5-6 days a week, I still find the classes exhausting / instructional. If you want to take it to another level, there are always trainers around for private training and the possibility of sparring. First class is free, with free use of gloves and wraps. Not sure what the reviewer below is referring to -- if you pay for a class and leave early - don't expect a discount. There's no business that offers a refund because you can't handle the workout. But if you end up staying be prepared to gain a lot of boxing knowledge, strength and good friends.

Here is where I sweat, and it's my happy place! Friendly and skilled coaches that take the time to help everyone with boxing technique on the bag and in the ring. Great programming for boxing, I want to be here every day. It's hard to take a rest day, and we all feel this way.

My first impression was that this gym was cool, very spacious and a lot of bags to work. HOWEVER if you are a real fighter looking to compete this is NOT the place to be. Supposedly the owner was a former pro boxer who I looked up and he had much more losses than wins. All to say you could be getting trained by someone more credible for the asking price of 120$+ a month. No disrespect just being honest. To top it off these people have the audacity to charge 24$ for a day pass as if they were Floyd Mayweather's gym! Ridiculously expensive for no reason and they have a LIMITED weight selection. This place finesses beginniners and caters to people with money. (USC STUDENTS) If you are an average Joe like me who doesn't make much money but loves boxing and is looking to get better, this place ain't it. 24$ a day, this cat acting like he was a 8x world champion hall of famer..insane. Never going back. 👎🏾

Loved this class. I would highly recommend anyone to give it a try if I could get through it anyone can. If you can buy your own gloves from them I’d do that. They let you use theirs for your first class but warning the gloves stink real bad.

This gym is absolutely amazing! The trainers are really welcoming and guide you through the entire circuit. I love the fact that we get boxing and kickboxing pad work. The trainers really try to teach you the fundamentals so that you know what you’re doing. I love that the this gym is really clean and the bathroom amenities is a plus! Love the community atmosphere, everyone including members are really friendly. I highly recommend this gym if you’re looking for a full body workout that is fun and engaging. Absolutely amazing and the owners are wonderful.

This review might be a bit long but TL;DR: SIGN UP. I'm super happy that I found this place! I love the clean gym, I love that it's in the South Park neighborhood of DTLA, I love that there are no class times and it's only 30m long, and I love that I can keep track of calories burned through the fitness tracker! The owner, Michael, and trainers Rickey and Sachiko are all great, friendly, and motivating. I've been wishing for an OTF but for kickboxing and it's literally 9Round for me. I used to have two gym memberships (kickboxing on weekdays and OTF on a weekend) when I lived in the suburbs cause I liked changing things up but I never feel bored about my workouts at 9Round. I moved to LA from San Dimas in April of 2021 and have tried two kickboxing gyms in EP and KTown area but ended up canceling because I found both gyms to be dirty and didn't like the locations or the vibe. Their hour-long workouts also didn't make me sweat that much (and I've kickboxed since 2018 and always give it my all so the problem wasn't me lol). At 9Round, you'll be glad it's only 30m long because I am exhausted after every workout. I burn about 450 to 510 calories which is pretty good for my weight/age considering the shorter duration. Overall I would recommend this gym to anyone in LA who's interested in boxing/kickboxing.

Being 9 months post-op shoulder reconstruction, several doctors and physical therapists later - I saw Andy at Forj and he was able to diagnose / roll out a plan that finally made sense to how my body feels. Andy is extreamly attentive & knowlagable; he’s articulate and professional. For the first time in 9 months I feel hope in this recovery. Forj is the ultimate, one-stop gym for combat sports and strength and conditioning. Bathrooms are CLEAN and nice; showers and sauna too! Dont sleep on this gym.

STOP scrolling through reviews of boxing gyms as you have found THE SPOT. LAKO is everything you have been looking for. I was like you once, desperate to get in shape, reading reviews of local gyms ad nauseam. I am so glad I trusted my gut and gave LAKO a try. It has truly made my life better in so many ways. Once upon a time I was in great shape, very active. Then I became middle aged, had kids, started a demanding career, survived a pandemic. I was out of shape and unmotivated. But then about 8 months ago I found LAKO and all of that changed. From my first introductory class, I was hooked. Now I love going to the gym (seriously) and am getting in great shape, and that feels really good. Honestly, I can't imagine working out any place else. Still not convinced? Let me tell you why LAKO is the BEST: 1) The people who work at this gym are incredible. From the friendly front desk staff (shout out to Chris, Araceli, and Charlie) to the coaches who run the classes (shout out to Jon, Justin, Keith, Cheyenne, and Greg) to the coaches who offer exceptional personal training sessions (shout out to Chalton and Jon) - these folks are all top-notch professionals. They push you hard but in a supportive I-want-you-to-kick-ass kind of way. And they work with your level and ability and never judge you or have attitude. Also, the gym itself is always spotless and they pay attention to small details like placing fresh seasonal flowers in the bathroom and selling really cool swag. 2) The workout is amazing. I can't imagine a better way to get in shape than to hit a bag. I had never boxed prior to my first class, and let me tell you I LOVE IT. I get out my stress and I work up a major sweat. And they have all kinds of great classes from straight boxing to HIIT to boot camps. There is something for everyone. 3) The LAKO community = family. With so much wrong in the world, it is so nice to walk into a safe space where you are greeted with smiles and fist bumps and genuine care for your wellbeing. The community at LAKO is full of a diverse mix of truly exceptional people who just want to be supportive, encouraging, and to hit some shit together. And the vibe is fun and silly and supportive. I never leave LAKO in a bad mood. 4) The gym cares. I salute the Owner, Yuichi, for encouraging the gym to support the local community and important causes. Since joining, I have donated blood at their blood drive, helped raise money for the local animal shelter, and now they are collecting donations to support those impacted by the wildfires. The LAKO community has heart and gives back, and that goes a long way in my book. I could go on and on but I am certain I have convinced you, random Google Review scroller, that LAKO is your SPOT. If you're looking for a gym, a community, you must give LAKO a chance. It will make your life better in so many ways (as it did for me!). Hope to see you in class!

My experience was when my younger brother trained here back when the Ruelas bros and Michael Nunn were world champions. They were really cool peeps. I think that mma fighters should look into this gym as real good boxing completes your game. We ran into Rafael Ruelas many years later and he'd gotten into Real Estate.
