Great facilities and a great staff to help with the youth in our community. With any place or organization there is always opportunity! But overall great competitive atmosphere!

This gym is very well kept! Always clean and cool inside! Concessions are on point and staff is friendly! Great Family Basketball! I would highly recommend the SOA leagues!

This place needs a lot of work! 1.) SOA allowed a 14U team to play in the 12U beginners league. The kids were huge and beat several teams by 40+. The team finally got moved after teams questioned SOA and the age group. 2.). Game times/schedules change constantly! The schedule will change the day before your game. So you always have to check. They have an app, but it doesn’t work so you have to go to the website each week to find out your game time. 3.) The refs are very inconsistent. 4.) Your team has to supply a scoreboard operator or a stats person per game. In addition you have to correct your teams roster at each game. 5.) The seating is extremely tight, especially when you have a game finishing up and the other two teams are coming in. It causes people to walk on the court during the game. 6.) The fact that you have to pay an additional $5 per person to come and watch your child play, after paying the registration fee. The good news is that they tell you that on their website, but why charge? 7.) Also, they guarantee you 7 games, but this year we noticed some of our opponents played at least 10 games while others only got 7 before the tournament weekend. Why is it so lopsided? Hopefully they can figure all this out, but our team has played with SOA for 3 seasons, and this season has been the worse. Luckily we are done playing with SOA. Hopefully they can figure out all the kinks and make it better, but just wanted to give anyone who’s thinking about joining SOA a heads up.

I initially gave them one star review on 4/23/23 and stated the following: Very poor officiating/reffing. So far the 3 games we have played have been really inconsistent. I don’t care if we lose the game or win as long as we are playing BASKETBALL. Last season a team got out of hand and a large fight broke out because they don’t call fouls. Is this street Ball? I will say only two individuals at SOA seem to care. Danielle and the other women there helping. I can’t wait for the season to be over. Not coming back to this league. We play tournaments and never have issues. Losing is not the issue cause we get beat in those tournaments. (LOL) Its the inconsistency of refs and the league. What is a foul one game is not the next. And the ridiculous HS division rules! Wow, running clock in OT. (Only two minutes) and the refs holds the ball for 20 seconds and lets the shooters take 15 seconds. Get it together! Not calling 3 seconds, carries, travels, over the back, and 10 seconds consistently. They also don’t call an offensive foul when the player uses his off arm to create space or hold defenders. I don’t think they know what a blocking foul is. This is supposed to be a league where the kids learn correctly but that is not the case. But today’s game(4-28-23) was called very different. Very consistent on both ends. So I changed my one star review to 3 stars. The same lady (not Danielle) even came up to me after the game and asked if I thought the refs did better. And honestly, they did great today. Only reason its 3 stars is because we have had issues in the past and this is only one game that they were awesome. But if they spoke to the refs, and are asking for my opinion (a coach) then it makes me think that these two ladies running the show actually care.
