SOMOS Yoga

I’ve been a student at SOMOS since they’ve opened, and an instructor since May 2022. As a student, SOMOS was the first place I felt comfortable as a plus size newbie to try yoga. I had zero previous experience and was severely out of shape, mentally and physically. Now at this second location, they’ve brought the intimate, accepting atmosphere of the original studio at Six Points to a beautiful facility on the southside of corpus with plenty of practice space, a cold plunge, showers, and a sauna opening soon. I love taking classes here as a student, because every class and teacher are uniquely knowledgeable and healing. It’s one place where I can go to take a relaxing, non-heated restorative class, to an actively challenging hot vinyasa class, and everything in between. As an instructor, I’m so grateful to the team for giving me creative freedom over my class and supporting continuing education and professional growth ♥️ the community aspect of somos can’t be described other than feeling like you’re home, safe and accepted.

As a newbie to yoga, I was nervous stepping out of my comfort zone, but the instructors and staff immediately made me feel at home. Their kindness and support have been incredible, guiding me through each session with patience and encouragement. Whether you're a seasoned yogi or just starting out like me, Somos Yoga is the perfect place to be. The atmosphere is welcoming, the instructors are top-notch, and the overall experience has been nothing short of amazing. Gretchen is the best yoga teacher in town, so experienced and creative. Able to adapt during a class because of her knowledge.

I love the heat, the flow and the instructor. Perfect blend of a yoga flow followed by the amazing cold towel in the end. I LOVE IT! ❤️
