The Growing Place

First time mom who was preparing and planning for a medication free childbirth in the hospital. I had Skylar and Allyson as my doula team and I can truly say I would not have survived without them. This was the BEST money I have ever spent and one of the best investments I ever made in my life. They were both SO encouraging, so helpful, and never wavered. Always a text or call away and when it came time for labor (which lasted MUCH longer than anticipated) they were there with us every step of the way applying counterpressure through each contraction, changing up my position to help both with my pain and also to try to progress the labor along, and they were extremely knowledgable and helpful in regards to helping navigate us through decision making. I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend The Growing Place to anyone and everyone. It blew our expectations out of the water and made my labor and delivery the best experience it could have ever been.

When I found out I was pregnant I knew I wanted to hire a doula. I didn’t know much about birth but I knew I didn’t want to be afraid of it. I wanted to learn as much as I could and be as educated as I could about each step. We worked with Gini, Lisa and Skylar and are so very grateful for the service and support they all provided. I’m ashamed to admit it took me almost a year to write this review because they deserve all the recognition for their wonderful guidance. With getting close to my sons first birthday I can safely say that I look back on my birth experience and are so incredibly happy to have had Gini and Lisa at the hospital with my husband and I. My birth plan was not to do many interventions unless necessary and they helped me stay educated and understand each step. We took 3 classes and a breastfeeding class. They were all very informative and helpful. The ladies were there via text message/phone call throughout my pregnancy (hired them around 3 months pregnant - highly recommend doing this) and I was able to ask them questions. I cannot recommend these ladies enough. Thank you for all that you do!

This place is amazing. My husband and I have signed up for a doula and currently taking pre-birth classes. The Growing Place is well organized and is very good at guiding us to feel comfortable for our birth. We have not yet received doula services but with all of the interactions, we are confident they will be excellent as well! I am glad we have this center in our area!

Joy and Skylar were absolutely incredible in helping us through our labor and delivery experience. They immediately made us feel comfortable in meeting them, and were willing to answer all our questions during our pregnancy visits. This was our first baby and we wanted to try unmedicated, so we knew we'd need lots of help. Our labor was around 48 hours and let me tell you, they were //unbelievable//. Through constant hip compressions, breathing coaching, massaging, and all-around just keeping us calm and focused, Joy and Skyler were essential in helping us achieve our goal of an unmedicated birth. They went above and beyond (even providing snacks!) to guide us through every contraction. I wish every single mama could have the help of the doulas at The Growing Place.

My husband Jon and I worked with Gini, Meri and Skylar during the birth of our daughter and honestly dont know how we would have navigated the process and becoming parents without them. We learned so much that wasn’t covered during our doctor appointments and the information made such a big difference. I’m addition to that having their help and support during our birth process and postpartum has been a tremendous asset and made our experience so special and truly exceptional. We can’t thank them enough for all they have done for us and for being part of our journey into parenthood. I can’t recommend The Growing Place enough! ❤️
