Adamstown YMCA

This 1-star review is specifically directed toward the new management that decided to jack up membership prices for the Adamstown branch. I have been going to this small YMCA for many years, specifically for the morning senior fitness classes. The front desk staff at that time and the senior fitness instructors are wonderful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Going there is the highlight of my day. Unfortunately, the new leadership, who is not even from Pennsylvania and probably has never been to this small facility, decided to increase senior membership prices such that they are unaffordable. This "scholarship" to reduce costs is ridiculous and sounds like a scam. I never use any other amenities except the senior classes here and occasionally at the Mifflin branch. We don't have the space or offerings that Sinking Spring does, why do we need to pay the same rate? Seniors don't travel to that branch or to Reading. Leadership is uninformed about the smaller branches and out of touch with the needs of seniors.

Ok. For the price it could be cleaned better. Dust and hair everywhere. Definitely dated machines. Last gym I was a member at was only $10 more and was cleaned throughout day with a full set of equipment. Only switched due to distance and timing.

I don’t care how good your service is if employees are being treated like trash. Absolutely do not go here. Employees are not given a fair wage and are being laided off. But some how the people running the place continue to get raises? This place needs to be investigated for fraud.

Needed to get a workout in while on the road. Clean, well run, and very pleasant, helpful staff. I'll be back when I'm in town again.

Used to live right near it was not so big but it was fun to go there and have fun with NY friends
