Crunch Fitness - Somerset

The gym is in a great location, and overall, my rating would be 3.5 stars. Since that’s not an option, I’ll round up to 4. While the gym could be cleaner, I’ve seen worse. Cleanliness is an area where improvements would definitely be appreciated. For example, the availability of spray bottles and paper towels can vary depending on the staff working. These should be checked regularly and replenished as needed, especially when the gym opens and periodically throughout the day. Some staff are great, you get a pleasant hi from them every time. Others hide in the office on their cell phone. This really does make a difference. I also wish the gym had a sauna or steam room. The vacant store next door could be a great opportunity for expansion (hint, hint!). Additionally, the locker room could use an update. I’ve visited the Green Brook Crunch, and they excel in this area. That said, I prefer Somerset over Green Brook because the layout is much more user-friendly—Green Brook feels like a maze. If Somerset could match Green Brook’s amenities, such as cleanliness, updated locker rooms, and a sauna or steam room, I’d be happy to pay a bit more for the enhanced experience.

I was told I could sign up with no annual fee, no contract, no enrollment fee. MONTH TO MONTH. So I signed up in person at the Somerset New Jersey location being told that there was no annual membership fee. I needed to pause my membership. I was told I can't do that but if I cancel temporarily, I can come back without the fees. When I requested to cancel I was told that I would be charged another month because of the 30-day grace period required fine. I canceled and what happened. I was charged an annual fee. I was lied to and scammed. This is not going to encourage me to sign up with Crunch again. I call the main number, no answer no return call . And I will be updating this review. They will tell you anything to get you to join, get your credit card and charge you everything that they can.

I’m very happy with coming into this crunch location it’s great. Whenever I come in, consistently I am greeted by friendly staff like Kyle and Matt. I have been going to this gym for a while and it’s great. The equipment is solid and if there are issues, maintenance usually fixes the unavailable equipment by the end of the week at most. I recently did a kickoff and it went great! It was a free 60 minute personal training session and it went super smooth. I was able to talk about my goals, diet, and even new training regimes. Kosma was my trainer and knows his stuff, he has a degree in exercise science too. He really pushed me during the session and was passionate about training which made the experience great. One thing my friends complained about is the cancellation policy as it used to be hard to cancel. I just talked with the manager the other day and he said that now they have an easy form to do at the computer so the process is a lot easier now.

One of the best gyms I've been to! I signed up with Kyle and he made the process of signing up smooth. Also I have to say the workers here are probably the most respectful gym workers I've ever interacted with.

Great overall gym for any type of person who is looking to reach their fitness goals. Managers Kyle and Matt were extremely helpful and made sure I was aware of all charges and cancellation procedure before signing up. Gym is well kept, well-staffed, and inviting.
