This LA Fitness location is a total mess. I have a Premier membership so hop around different locations, and this one is soooo messy. Weights are littered all over the gym. Literally nobody puts anything back and the employees are completely useless at cleaning up. They just sit on their phones instead of helping put equipment back where it should be. It’s impossible to find specific weights at times or you have to walk all over the gym to find them thrown in a random corner. All of the mats are completely ripped up, it’s impossible to find one in decent shape. I’m so disappointed in this gym I’ve emailed corporate directly because it needs better management.

I had a very frustrating experience at the LA Fitness in Edison. I was jump roping in the grass turf area because I have a knee issue, and landing on the turf is much easier on my knees compared to harder surfaces. While I was minding my own business and focused on my workout, a man – who didn’t even seem like an official LA Fitness instructor (he wasn’t wearing the uniform) – kept rushing back and forth between multiple people he appeared to be training. It looked like he was handling clients from outside the gym, which seems like a gray area and probably against gym policy, but I’m not entirely sure. His unprofessional behavior caused him to get hit by my jump rope because he wasn’t paying attention to his surroundings. Instead of acknowledging his mistake, he rudely told me to move to the aerobics area on the concrete. This was completely uncalled for, especially since I was using the turf appropriately and specifically because of my knee condition. If he had been a regular member focused on his own workout, this wouldn’t have happened. But this man was running around, seemingly managing too many clients at once, and acting carelessly. To make matters worse, he told me the turf was only for personal training, which felt absurd given how he was using the space. I complained to the general manager, but while they said they would look into it, I doubt anything will actually be done. It’s disappointing to see the gym allow such behavior to go unchecked and treat members so poorly.

I do not typically go to this LA because I don’t live in the area, however I know it’s a very large location with a lot of variety of equipment which I like and my experience today was worth a negative review. I came in at about 9am on a Sunday and the place was an absolute disaster. I walked in the door and the worker at the front desk was lounging in his chair and didn’t even look up from his phone. Then when I went to the turf area to workout it was horrible. Weights from the squat racks, Dumbell racks etc. were scattered everywhere. It should not be this much of a disaster this early in the am on a Sunday. Now I know this comes with the inconsideration of the people working out, however the staff should maybe start enforcing people putting their equipment away when they are done with it more and or assist with cleaning up misplaced equipment more often. This is a beautiful location but it definitely needs some help in these aspects

I tried signing up for a membership today and the team members were absolutely awful to me. It started out fine as I already knew what membership I was getting and the first guy was friendly, but then I moved to the complementary workout planning and body fat measurement with Jojo. Jojo and his colleague (I think his name was Geo) were pushing me to get a personal training program, which I have no interest or financial means for. I told them that they were making me feel uncomfortable and to stop, and they didn’t care and continued to literally yell at me. I cancelled my LA Fitness membership the same day I started it. I know that all gyms want to sell their personal trainer, but this behavior is just unacceptable. Ganging up on a girl for their own profit and not stopping when she expresses discomfort is awful practice, especially for a customer centric role at LA Fitness. I hope both of these members get fired or at LEAST reprimanded because this simply isn’t okay.

I have a horrible experience with La fitness. When you signed up with their personal training and membership is fine, but when you tried to cancel it, they gave you a lot of trouble. I went to the local gym to cancel my person training and membership, however, someone from La fitness( not local gym) calling me and say that I did not cancel the service and ask for the credit card to keep charging me. So I went to the local gym, someone helped me to confirmed that everything has been canceled and nothing over due. But the people from La fitness still kept calling me again again and asked me to go to local office to cancel. I have been there couple times and local gym people told me they will leave notes in my account so La fitness would not call me again. But when someone from La fitness called me again, I asked them "can you see the notes in my account?" the person stated that I cannot see it. OGM, this is the dead end, no solutions. Unless you continue to pay money to them, they will be happy and will not bother you. Otherwise, you get so much harassment from them. I don't know what should I do now. Think about carefully before sign up with them. They are horrible and they don't communicate internally and horrible taking care of customers.
