Parkwood YMCA

Will be ending membership - it’s expensive and equipment is needing repairs especially the only two Row machines - the whole rower moves backwards when rowing so you have to stop, get up, and pull the rower forwards because the machine is in the path of walkers … the weight room is cramped in the basement, has very low ceiling, and fans blow in one direction. It’s stifling in the summer.

Weight room is old and small. Any of the new parts of this facility goes to childcare instead of fitness. And you can’t access the gym doing childcare hours Childcare is taking over that area of the gym, including some racquetball courts

I like the staff, the clientele is respectful, and the pool is great. Seemingly great for kids too. But I miss the newer equipment and attention to room details they had at the--now closed--downtown YMCA. The strength training room itself, and much of the equipment in it, seems like it's an afterthought at this particular Y. This one could be great if given the attention the downtown Y received.

Place needs serious updating; place is so dirty; when visiting unsure if at gym or senior citizen center. Staff is SUPER unfriendly!

The preschool here is amazing. It is run like a school, not a daycare. The teachers are great and care a lot about the kids. They focus on getting the kids outside as much as the weather allows them to. My child has grown so much at the preschool and also at swimming lessons. The prices are also very affordable for both preschool and swimming lessons. I highly recommend the programs here!
