Worcester MMA is an incredible place! Coach Dan, Max, and the entire staff are such a welcoming and friendly group of people. They went above and beyond to make my little brother feel comfortable and supported every step of the way. Their approach is professional yet approachable, and they really know how to create a positive and encouraging environment. I highly recommend Worcester MMA for anyone looking to train in a supportive community.

I have trained and taught BJJ for over 20 years. I have trained In many schools throughout the United States and internationally. I own two BJJ schools myself in Connecticut and Dan Simmler of Worcester MMA is one of the best instructors I’ve seen. I’ve had the chance to train with him several times over the past year and he never disappoints. In addition to his fantastic instruction, he’s always willing to roll. I highly recommend his Academy.

We've been training at WMMA for about 6 months after starting out at a different gym for about 6 months. My son competes regularly and since coming to WMMA his skills and technique have grown exponentially. The coaches are awesome. Each one has a slightly different style and approach to instruction. It's beneficial to have so many knowledgable coaches who don't push competitions but certainly encourage those interested in competing. Dan the owner is a great person. Not only is he knowledgable in Jiu Jitsu but just a great human being to talk to. A straight shooter who genuinely cares for his students and will go out of his way to ensure their success. You know what Dan expects and is awesome at explaining/demonstrating technique. You'll never lack knowledge of why you are doing something a certain way. Coach Max who teaches the kids classes is the perfect instructor for kids. He does well at redirecting their attention, offering encouragement, and laying out expectations. Max seemingly never gets frustrated with the kids and is gifted with limitless patience. Coach Nick is a wealth of knowledge. He does adult classes and is eager to assist during drills and explain things to those of us who a bit slower to pick things up. Always eager to help, Nick seems to really shine by connecting moves throughout the week to previous techniques shown. It has helped me with retention. Having left our first gym where questions were often answered with "If you end up here there's nothing you can do. You're screwed!" WMMA coaches seem so much more knowledgable when they readily share escapes from all kinds of positions. I'm not left feeling like if I get "caught" in a position then I'm an idiot. Instead, I feel as though I just haven't learned the right response yet. Overall, an incredible environment for all levels of jiu jitsu practitioners. No matter your age, fitness level, or skills you will be welcomed to the team and encouraged every day. Over the last couple months we've had personal issues unrelated to Jiu Jitsu that have caused me to pause my training. When I've come back sporadically as I've had time I'm not made to feel bad but encouraged in my journey.

As a Jocko Willink fan, I always wanted to start BJJ. This year, I finally did, with my teenage soon. We have been thrilled with Worcester MMA. Coach Dan and the other coaches are OUTSTANDING. Great BJJ practitioners and excellent teachers. I'll also say that the "vibe" (as my sons say) is great. People are very friendly, helpful, and encouraging. We are newbies, but the people of more advanced belts very nicely help, teach, and encourage. Great for me. And even better for my sons. I highly recommend Coach Dan, his team, and Worcester MMA.
