Ive been a member here for 2 years. I love this gym for its social life. The vibes are great. Their boulders however have decreased in quality steadily over the past year. Their routes are either ladders or spanny v8s, its hard to progress at the v4 to v5 level. It has gotten boring, bland, and thoughtless. I went to other CRGs to see if it was consistent, and it isnt. The other ones in the area are far better. For a day pass or ropes, I find the gym is an amazing facility. The climbs seem true to grade [ropes only] and reset often enough for variability. Boulders stay up too long and underutilize intermediate skills like toe/heel hooks. It's all or nothing. Either you are a 5 year climber or brand new.

Took the family here a couple weeks ago, took the belay class with my wife. Super awesome instructor, dude with great hair. The climbing was fun. The bouldering was tough, not much beginner-level stuff my 6- and 8-year-old could be successful on as newbies, but they still had fun trying. Good way to burn a couple hours with the kids.

I’ve been going to this gym for many years. The route setting is great and the community there is the best! Everyone is always super friendly. Doesn’t matter if you’ve been climbing your whole life or if it’s your first time. Best gym there is!! ❤️ Any time I travel out of state and try out other climbing gyms I always realize how good we have it at CRG.

They used to update routes frequently, label difficulties, have consistent grades. Now you pay NYC climbing gym rates for a dirty gym that keeps routes up for 3-4 months. The price is steep compared to other gyms even in LA, NYC it is cheaper.

Bouldered. Good climbing but grades maxed out at V9, so it depends on what you are looking for. New bouldering and fitness area added a lot to the existing facility. Full size campus board now. Would have given 5 stars, but the gym is still missing a few of the modern amenities. Any brand training board (or even a spray wall), a variety of hang boards (think there was only 2 and none in the annex building), sauna.
