I joined orange theory two months back. On my second day I bought hart rate monitor with them for $130 but, it was defective. I told them almost every day they gave me the loner for each class but they never give me My money back or the new band. Now I canceled my membership already still I call them about my hart rate monitor they always tell me that they will call back after talking to their manager but I never got the call back. It is really frustrating they sell cheap quality product for that kind of price when it’s defective they don’t wanna take any kind of action.

I’ve been an OrangeTheory member for over 5 years and recently brought my boyfriend to the Somerville location for the first time. Although he is familiar with OrangeTheory workouts and equipment from his previous visit to the Brighton location, and had his paperwork ready, we arrived a few minutes late due to traffic. Despite his prior experience with OrangeTheory, he was denied entry because he was new to this specific location. This policy seemed to apply only to him, as I was also new to this location. We were genuinely looking forward to the class and were disappointed by the experience. Unfortunately, due to this, we will not be returning to this location.

I’ve been to OrangeTheory before but this was my first time visiting the Somerville location. My girlfriend, a long-time member, brought me along. I was familiar with the workout and equipment, and had all my paperwork ready. However, due to traffic, we arrived a few minutes late. Despite my prior experience with OrangeTheory, I was told I couldn’t join the class because I was new to this particular location. It seemed that this policy applied only to me, as my girlfriend was also new to this location. We were really looking forward to the class, so we were disappointed by the experience. Unfortunately, because of this, we won’t be coming back to this location.

As someone who is moderately active and has previous exercise experience, I enjoyed the challenge of Orange theory workouts. They also had good music, good parking options and a studio that is pretty big. I would not recommend though to beginners as, in some classes, trainers would not fully demonstrate the workouts that you are being asked to do and I saw a good amount of people doing the workouts wrong and not being corrected by trainers. This studio also is very full, so you have to book classes many days in advance to come take a class. Also, because of the large amount of people that go, it makes it even harder for beginners to be corrected on form when doing workouts. While I enjoyed Orange theory, I recommend a smaller studio is you’re a beginner (Saugus is great). If you know what you’re doing and want to be motivated by seeing other active people hit some high workout goals, this may be your place.
