I had a back surgery, triple heart bypass, right leg bypass with 82 staples and a debridement on my right foot that left me with 2 less toes! That was all with in 2 months less than a year ago. Ok now that you have that info you can imagine how bad of shape I was in having not really exercised for months after being in the hospital for 2 1/2 months. I started going back to my chiropractor that I was seeing Dr Jason Cheshire who recommended Barwis for Physical Therapy. I set up my first appointment on May 13, 2024 and on that day I met the amazing therapist Maciej " Mac" Bielen. I was in really bad shape like I said when I met him, not being able to raise my right leg, or move most of my body with my back giving me the greatest pain. Mac told me to just think about my time in PT one day at a time. I knew he cared about his clients cause he took the time to understand from me what I felt was wrong. what hurt! what I could do and not do. He then as if he could see the future methodically set me on a routine that changed with the issues that I was having on any given day. If my right lower back hurt he adjusted his applications for massage and the loosening of my muscles or if my right let hurt he would adjust for that. In doing so he allow me to experience progress each time I worked out with him. He took the time to loosen up my muscles each time with massage, pressure point adjustments and a lot of other techniques that addressed my specific pain of the day. He also knew I needed to build strength in order to walk, stand or even do simple exercise so he made sure that each day I worked with him on exercises that targeted that and he made sure that I knew what exercise to do at home to maintain some consistency with my progress at Barwis. He was looking after me even when I was not at Barwis. That helped me out a lot. I am a tennis player and played everyday for 20 years for the most part. These surgeries set me back 8 months but Mac asked me what my goal was and I told him it was to get back on the court to play tennis. I am happy to say that I've reached my goal and beyond. The entire staff at Barwis are remarkable, the facility itself is inspiring just to walk in and feel the energy which is so up lifting. One last thing, on one of my darkest days feeling very defeated, I drove to Barwis to do my PT with Mac. I parked and walked in and the moment I walked in the door I broke down and turned around and walked out. I sent a text to Mac to tell him that I was not up to the workout and that I would need to reschedule. Most people would have just accepted my text and said see you next time but NOT Mac. He took a minute to ask me what was wrong. Did I need to talk. At the moment my attitude changed. Someone cared enough to ask me how I was doing, that let me know that he was concerned and cared. That really changed my life. He told me that I had come a long way and that I was doing great. The most important thing he said was, "we are a team". I am here for you ! You are not alone in this. For all of you that are thinking about PT....do it! work at it! don't give up! you will be inspired by your own progress and the positive attitudes of others around you that are far more worst off that you. And if you can get Mac you will have a friend for life. But all the Therapist are amazing I saw them work with their clients just like Mac did with me. Go BRAWIS. So sign on the dotted line right away. ....I have life! I love life! I feel whole again and its due to the dedication of Mac and the fact that he pushed me all the way to where I am today. BRAWIS IS #1 IN MY books. Oliver F

Had Mac as my trainer, had a shoulder surgery done and this is by far the best physical therapy place I’ve ever been too. They have worked so hard for me and I’m so grateful.

BARWIS surely exceed my expectations for doing my first physical therapy. It was recommended by my orthopedic due a my tennis elbow issue. My physical therapist, Makayla, was very professional and friendly. She walked me through the whole process and gave clear instructions. The entire team all had good energy and the place surely has a nice workout vibe. Setup is spacious and clean.

I really wasn’t looking forward to doing physical therapy after my second knee surgery but my experience at BARWIS has been exceptional! I’ve worked mostly with Dom who’s been great but anytime I’ve had another member of the team work with me they have been super knowledgeable and I always felt confident they were doing a great job getting me closer to being back to 100%.

It’s hard to know how to start. A season ending, soul crushing ACL and Meniscus tear sidelined an extremely talented and dedicated young 14 yo indoor volleyball player. After surgery and basic PT, a dear friend directed us to Barwis in Deerfield Beach. Her daughter had suffered the same injury, different sport. Dr Dominic Brugnoni in PT took control of her ACL specific rehab and return to play plan of attack. Dr Dom along with the best trainer, Tony Giachetti, that I have ever met worked with her multiple times a week from 6 ms post surgery to now 14 ms out and continuing. They are athletes themselves so they get what it takes personally and professionally to get every athlete in this place back to top performance shape. Barwis and these amazing people have become an essential part of her weekly trainings both physically and mentally. This kind of injury to a young athlete that had just landed at the club she wanted to be at and on the team of her dreams, can definitely mess with your psyche. Dr Laura, in the sports psychology department here, has been unbelievable as well. My daughter isn’t a big talker but Dr Laura had gotten her to open up during the process and before her first tournament back which was exactly where the injury happened. All of these amazing people along with Austin, the front desk manager, make whatever you need to happen… happen. I cannot express my gratitude and admiration to this entire organization and recommend them enough. Whether you’re a professional athlete or a young aspiring athlete or a tennis mom rehabbing or a a victim of a serious injury, this is the place for you.
